@ms.janedoe: I actually don't have a lot of complaints about being pregnant (yet!) and it already makes me sad to think in a couple months, I won't be feeling kicks and wiggles anymore.

Goodness! Y'all are fast today!! I'm just now on my lunch break and I'm so behind! I've read through everything, now time to respond...

Regarding the visitors, what are y'all doing about help after DH goes to back to work? My MIL mentioned something about taking time off and coming to stay every other day and making a schedule with my mom (who doesn't work). Ok, honestly that seriously overwhelms me. If I end up with a c section, I know I'll need a little more help, but seriously? Either one of them every single day for 3 or so weeks (until DH is off school on Christmas break) stresses me out. I'm only taking about 8 weeks off before I go back to work and I feel like I won't be able to relax with someone always in my house. I love my MIL to pieces, but I still feel awkward around her at times...

This is her first grandchild and DH is her only child, so I know she's excited, but....

I hope that doesn't make me sound ungrateful!!

@MrsTiz: I got an outfit very similar to Jack's going home outfit at one of my showers!! I have no clue what I'm going to do yet. I'm thinking about this cute little white monogrammed gown that my aunt got him (I KNEW it was from her before I even saw the card because she's one of THOSE southern ladies who monograms everything lol. She actually lives pretty close to you I think).

@lilteacherbee: Not ungrateful at all. DH is taking the first week off and then my mom is going to come up the week after. Other than that, I'll be on my own. But DH only works til 1 so it shouldn't be that bad. I hope.

I have my 34 week appointment today, so I'll update after that. I'm leaving work early today so I've gotta go get a ton of stuff ready for my kids to do when I leave. BUT...

We're getting soooooo close!!!!!! I can't wait for all of us to have our babies

@Ash: The polar bear suit may be from Carters...it was a gift so I'm not sure. It was the first thing I packed for a going home outfit and DH was not a fan. Hah

@lilteacherbee: DH is only able to take a few days off, not even a whole week His sister is off the first week of Nov, so if he's here by then she'll spend some time with me (unfortunately), and my sister has a really flexible schedule so she'll be over a lot. I really hope I don't need much help because I really enjoy my alone time, and I don't want to have to entertain all of our family members while i'm on leave. I'm sure DH will try and scoot out of work early some days, so hopefully that will be all I need.

@lilteacherbee: Oh yes, the monagamer. Every family has one! My cousin made us a ton of monogram/stenciled onesies haha

@ShootingStar: That's how I feel about being pregnant, I'm just DONE. People keep saying not to rush it, but I am absolutely miserable. My body is not taking this well, and it's really starting to affect me mentally. I can hardly walk, bend over, breathe, anything..so I seriously can't even handle the thought of going to 41 weeks (when my OB induces). If he waits until 40 weeks I think I'll snap. Ahg. More power to those who are not uncomfortable at all and can stay calm until the end, because it's not me

So we live a little far out from most friends and family, so I don't know that we will get many unannounced visitors. And I really hope we don't, because like a number of you, I prefer to be in underwear and a tank top most of the time in my own home. I imagine that desire will be even greater in the first few weeks.

@lilteacherbee: I totally get the not sure you want houseguests. That is how I am feeling. I know I will need help, and DH is going to take a few days off work and then my mom will be flying in from Colorado (I'm in Northern Virginia). But she will only be able to be here for about a week. I am hoping I won't need other help after that...DH's family is close and his Godmother (his mom passed away, so she's like a surrogate mom/grandmother) has offered to come and stay and help, but I'm just not sure I will be able to relax with houseguests...but I don't want to sound ungrateful for help either....ugh

Okay, I wore myself out today. *sigh* I have potato soup in the crock pot, chocolate cupcakes baking (http://www.skinnytaste.com/2011/10/super-moist-low-fat-chocolate-cupcakes.html - which I ate a lot of batter prior to throwing them in the oven), and baby clothes in the wash. I think I need a nap but I have thank yous to write out from Sunday's shower. I need a clone.

Hi ladies... exciting that we are all getting so close!

Just wanted to throw this out there about nursing bras. For my first baby, I had this
    http://www.amazon.com/Medela-Sleep-Bra-White-L/dp/B000JIKN0A/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1381344559&sr=8-9&keywords=nursing+bra
(I think that is the brand I have, in nude) and I slept in it all the time. I usually don't sleep in a bra but this was much more comfortable than going without. They are not that expensive so might be worth looking into for those of you that want to wait on buying more expensive bras till after baby comes and your milk comes in. I can't remember what I did in the hospital but even though my milk hadn't come in, they had me nursing and pumping all the time.

A couple other tips for hospital bags - the best thing that we brought was an ipod speaker dock. We aren't big TV people but loved playing music all the time, made us feel more at home. And don't stress too much about remembering everything in your bag - you could send hubby/family home, or to the nearest drugstore/mall, for picking up things you forget.

So, I'm putting together the RnP and learning that I suck at assembling things. I'm leaving it for dh to do when he gets home. #defeated

My appointment went well and I'm now doing weekly appointments. I haven't had this doctor before, but I had heard that he is really good. He was super nice!! I could tell he was gearing up for his c section speech that I'm sure a lot of docs have in their heads (since most women don't want them). He said "So what do you think about this big baby?" Haha I was like "Honestly, it scares me a little bit..." Of course, he talked about how ultrasounds aren't always accurate for weight, but since he's been measuring huge for awhile, there's a bigger chance that he actually is larger than normal. That combined with GD makes an early induction likely, but many times that can lead to a c section if labor doesn't progress.

We talked about it and I expressed my fears of being in labor and then having to have an emergency c section. He told me that's how he would feel as well. I had major surgery when I was a kid (cut a foot of my colon out, had a colostomy, then reversed the colostomy after 3 months), so my insides aren't exactly like everyone else's (I think we are past TMI here- a colostomy is when part of your intestine is outside of your body and you poop in a bag that is attached to your tummy. I was 7 when I had one because it was basically the last resort to my rare issue). I'm fine and "normal" now as long as I take my medicine every day.

The OB said that if I were to have a c section that was rushed/not planned, they would have less time to prepare and be aware of my issues, whereas if I had a planned c section, the doctors would all know and be prepared that I may have intestines blocking something, etc.

The plan right now is to see how big he is at my next ultrasound in 2 weeks (I'll be 36 weeks then). If he's looking like he'll be a 9+ pound baby, then we will schedule a c section for around 39 weeks.

I was actually the same weight as I was last time! We know Nathan is getting bigger, so at least this GD diet is helping me not gain a million pounds! I do miss my fries and chocolate though...

You all are on fire today! I have to admit, reading all of these comments about babies coming soon and packing bags makes me realize that I may be in a little bit of denial. I'm super excited to meet our little guy, but right now I'm just taking it day by day and focusing on surviving this master bathroom renovation project. I'm feeling pretty good as long as I get a 2-3 mile walk in every day.

As for the visitors, I don't think any of you that mentioned liking your alone time or feeling awkward with in-laws sound ingrateful at all. I'm told all of the time "you'll want the help", but what if I know myself and I know I will just want to be with the baby and my husband? We have told people no one can stay with us for the first 2 weeks. They are more than welcome to visit, but no overnight guests. I figure that's the one time we can really put our foot down. Christmas is a whole other worry for me though.

I'm trying to prepare for Christmas already and have told my husband that when we set the house back up after this reno that we need to prepare the living room to receive a live tree. I want to have a beautiful tree in the front window and I've already started to buy glass ball ornaments. I figure that will be my "zen" location so that when we have too many visitors around Christmas I can just sit on the couch, hold my baby, and look at the lights Whatever it takes, right?

@MrsTiz: Crotch. Crotch. LOL, agreed, I've always thought of what an awful word this is. Maybe we should change. To what, I'm not sure. The Apex? Lol. And when you're done with the cleaning lady, could you send her my way, please?
And my midwife doesn't generally perform any checks, unless requested and I don't plan to request any, not even in labor, because the information you get from a check doesn't really tell ya a damn thing as far as when you'll go into labor or how long labor will take, and I get too hung up on numbers, so, no thank-you! Numbers have been a HUGE discouragement during both my previous labors, so this time, I'm listening to what my body is telling me about which stage of labor I'm in, as opposed to the dang numbers, LOL.

So, yeah, we are still without power, have been for 5 full days now, since Friday afternoon and it's getting REAL old! Especially since we really have no idea when we're going to get it back. The power company fixed the lines for everyone else on our line, but pretty much admitted to forgetting that there was one more inhabited farmstead on this line. ACK! Of course, DH was honest and told them we have a generator for the fridge and freezers, so we probably got bumped down the priority list since we're the only place without power on this line yet and there is tons of other repair work needed in the area. We'll get it back when they can spare a crew to come back and finish the rest of the line. *sob*
But we finally off-roaded our way out of here (well, we were on the road, but the 4 miles out to the paved road may as WELL have been off-roading) on Monday and went to the big city for my midwife appointment and that was a big bright spot. Everything with me and Cricket is either perfect and/or completely average and healthy. I went from measuring 34 cm. at 28 weeks, to measuring 34.5 cm. at nearly 34 weeks, so, HA! I knew the weird measurements would resolve themselves. No explanation for it, except that it's just a weird thing my body does during pregnancy. And since July, I've managed to raise my iron levels from 11.2 to 13.6 on alfalfa and stinging nettles supplements alone, so I was pretty happy with that too. I had good intentions of using blackstrap molasses too, but it, um, never really happened.
And I shouldn't brag about how good I'm feeling and I don't know what to attribute it to- regular chiropractic adjustments, cal-mag supplements, the Whole30 eating plan we're on right now, or just hitting my 3rd tri stride, but seriously. It's awesome. My round ligament pain has virtually disappeared, as well as the symphysis pubic pain and nightly charley horses. Oh yeah, and then I had to take a grand fall down the stairs yesterday and injured my tail bone, but one chiro adjustment later and trying to take it easy, because I can totally tell when I push it and literally can't bend over or MOVE when I don't, I think that'll clear up pretty quickly. I hope. I can't imagine being in labor with this kind of pain going on too. I just hope a silly tail bone injury doesn't become an issue in labor. Because that would just suck.

OMG my nipples (mostly right) have been bothering me for days and days - stinging, itching. I squeeze my boob and Colostrum came out! The other one does it too! I'm so weirded out right now, lol.

So I had my appointment this afternoon and guess what? Baby os breech. DH and I are pretty positive she never flipped and the midwife at the last appointment was wrong. (She admitted that it was her first time using their new machine). I couldn't see the screen today but DH said it is very clear that she's still breech, unlike the last time when it wasn't very clear.

Since my appointment was at the end of the day I have to wait until tomorrow to get the next available appointment with the OB practice to meet the Dr. and schedule a c-section. I had been so at peace with a c-section 2 weeks ago, but now I can't help but feel disappointed and nervous.

But since I'll be scheduled for week 39, looks like Reagan will be an Oct baby...

@shellio: I really like the idea of a nursing bra for sleep I love this tank - not sure what kind of ratings it gets though: http://www.motherhood.com/Product.asp?Product_Id=974290362&MasterCategory_Id=MC29

@lilteacherbee: I can understand your fears... Hopefully there's a plan in place soon to help you feel better.

@sweetooth: I've been walking too! I live in the country so I drive into town and walk on a walking path that I and can't wait to take LO out on in the stroller next summer. / Also glad to know I'm not alone - it looked so easy!!

@FarmWifeGina: Oh man, 5 days without power. YUCK! Glad you had a great appointment. keep the snow in the Dakotas - I'm not ready for it yet - we haven't even started combining! / Agree with the checking dilation but I think during labor I'll want it done - luckily, the midwives don't just check willy nilly.

@ShootingStar: mine don't hurt but I've had crusties on them for a while now from leaky boobs.

@NeekieRose: Baby Reagan just isn't cooperating, is she?! Doesn't seem like it'd be hard to figure out if baby is breech or not but evidently I'm wrong. Don't be leaving us for the October mamas now

This board is on fire today! I bought the same nursing bras as @MrsTiz and also bought nursing tanks from Target and some pajama bottoms and also a robe!

I'm planning to buy more bras PP (hopefully).

My hospital bag is started, baby's hospital bag is packed! Her coming home outfit is a onesie, sweater material pants, a matching hat, and a fleece, all from baby gap.

Car seat is also installed in the car and I had it inspected last week. Good thing bc it was totally in wrong! Stupid latch system.

Can't believe we are all getting so close!!!!

I'm having some bright red vaginal bleeding so I am chilling in triage while the nurses socialize in the hall I was on the monitor for all of 10 min before they did an ultrasound and waiting to get hooked back up. I'll probably have an internal exam once I see my OB (this is what he said on the phone).

Normally my OB/midwife don't do checks until around 38 weeks.

I'm so far behind in this thread! I tried to skim through while we are waiting here, but I'm sure I missed a bunch.

A family friend of ours had a small sprinkle for me Sunday. It was super nice, but caused some family drama from my SIL texting me and calling me nasty words for no reason (not sure if any of you saw me post about her on other threads)...she wasn't at the shower btw. It was mostly a few of mom's friends from work, whom our family friend and myself also work with.

Btw I've been feeling like crap lately. Lots of low pain, but not the same of the legs spreading apart type pain as I had earlier on. Nausea, heartburn, migraine where I can't function almost daily and diarrhea. I'm exhausted.

@Cara M. 17: What did you guys do wrong with the installation (if you don't mind my asking)? We used latch and I ended up deciding to skip the check because I thought it was so easy...uh oh!

@ms.janedoe: I was checked and apparently everything looks good. I have to stay on the monitor another 40 min then I think I'm out of here. Said it could be a burst blood vessel or something, but if it happens again he wouldn't think that.

@ms.janedoe: The car seat manual said to install it in the center seat and use the latch system. It turns out that if you want to use the latch system you have to install either behind the driver or passenger, not in the center. If you want to install in the center too have to use the belts to install. We had it in the center using latch but we were actually using one latch from either side, which you can't do because they're not spaced out enough and you can't tighten the seat enough.

oh. my. lanta. You guys went nuts today! I just read everything. I feel so behind...our bag isn't packed yet, I don't have a going home outfit for Baby J, and our nursery isn't totally done yet. Our two showers are this weekend though, so I will have a lot of work in front of me to prep clothes and whatnot! I'll pack our bag this weekend--yay three day weekends! On Monday, I am having a mini spa day...prenatal massage and mani/pedi (all giftcards. woohoo!).

I have my GBS/36 week appt tomorrow, which starts my weekly ones. I can't remember if they will check for dilation or anything tomorrow.

@shootingstar: I feel ya on the itchy nipples! DH was laughing at me.

I definitely need to make a Target run for nursing tanks etc. @neekierose: did you order that nightgown online or buy it in the store? Love it!

@Mrs. J: You will catch up quickly! Our nursery isn't totally done yet either. Still a few things to hang up and we are waiting for our night stand to come in (back ordered). Also need to buy the crib mattress and put that all together.

I feel like the list is never ending! Is anyone else working on freezer meals too? I feel like we talked about this weeks ago...I've done three so far and have a few more planned for this weekend.
