@nanilani: Congrats and welcome! Glad everything is looking good!!
@Ashleigh3388: did you try the Doppler?!
coffee bean / 47 posts
@peaches3810 nope. I Want to but I'm oddly terrified. I want to but I just keep staring at it (still in the postal wrapping). It took us so long for this positive. I'm just worried. Ya know? I sound crazy, right? Maybe tomorrow?
In other news... Hello insomnia and acid reflux ( or heartburn!?). Odd since I'm so freaking tired but I can't sleep ):

I have my pregnancy confirmation appointment today. Basically, I POAS and they tell me I'm pregnant. I am interested in if there's anything they will do differently since my DS was born at 35 weeks.
I've pretty symptom free (which has obviously made me worried), but whoa are my boobs getting sore. They aren't blowing up the way they did last time, but I don't remember them hurting like this. I'm sure they did, but I seem to have forgotten so much of my last pregnancy. Seems like a reason to write some things down.

@JennyG: I'm surprised that they're having you come in to POAS! Makes it more certain, I guess -- hope all goes well.

My last beta was 830. Nurse said RE was happy with the number and has me scheduled for an ultrasound Monday morning!

@Ashleigh3388: I don't blame you! I'd be nervous too!
@Hoots: Congrats!! Have fun at your ultrasound!
@JennyG: Good luck at your appointment!

@wrkbrk: 21 dpo. My first beta at 12 dpo was 34. 14 dpo was 99. 16 dpo 155. 19 dpo was 467. 21 dpo 830. The doubling time was definitely not smooth from draw to draw, which has sucked.

@Hoots: Dang girl that's a lot of blood lost for betas! Well if your doctor is happy that's good enough for me! Congrats!
coffee bean / 47 posts
@hoots -- a lot of blood but at least it's showing good numbers!
@peaches1038 -- I gave it a shot this morning, 7 weeks today! I got my open heartbeat then a reading at 137. I think it was to low for it to be baby I'll try again in a few days!

Not sure if anyone is interested in buying maternity clothing yet but Gap and OldNavy have some pretty good deals right now. I just placed an order that averaged out to $8 an item! I need some dressier stuff for fall, so I decided to scoop it up while it was at such a steal! Even if I won't be wearing it for awhile

@EBSC: @jennyg: they had me come in to POAS too. I was so annoyed when I found out my copay was $50! We just switched insurance plans at work and apparently that's what a specialist runs. Looks like prenatal care is free but POAS must not count.

@anbanan15: thanks for the tip! With my first, I started wearing maternity stuff around 8 weeks because I couldn't handle having a waist band tight on my stomach with my awful MS. MS is not quite as bad this time around but I have a feeling I'll be in comfy pants again soon. Lol.
nectarine / 2047 posts
@Ashleigh3388: I can't wait until you hear it!!
@anbanan15: I'm nervous to buy maternity clothes already!! I always wear skinny pants and I'm already getting annoyed by my waistband but I don't want to jinx it haha I'm totally going to check the deals out though!!
ETA: do you buy your pre-pregnancy size? I've never bought any before!!
persimmon / 1461 posts
@Hoots: yay for good numbers and ultrasound!
@anbanan15: I did a big old navy order last year when I was pregnant, and didn't get a chance to wear any of it. The shipping to australia is ridiculous BUT I really do like their cheaper clothes (and bigger variety than most maternity stores here). This time round I'll be pregnant through all of winter/cooler months with a late spring baby so will probably need to buy a few things for warmer weather later on.
I went out for dinner with my bestie last night and she commented on my burgeoning blump haha maaajorly bloated muffin top happening!

@peaches1038: usually they say to buy your pre-pregnancy size, which I typically do, unless it is something I know runs different from before.
I waited to buy maternity with my first and honestly didn't wear much of it, but by the time my second rolled around I knew which styles I prefered or would have liked to have more of and for the most part those are the ones I replaced today (because some have been through two pregnancies already and just made it the last one lol). I really prefer the maternity styles that can pass for non-maternity and who does not love a legging? I also learned which waist style I prefered after my first. I hate full panel lol.

@FannyMae: Ohh ouch! Shipping to Australia! I'm due only days after my last baby's birthday so most of the maternity clothing I had with her will work this time too! i just have to add/replace a few things.
persimmon / 1461 posts
@anbanan15: the panel bit was definitely the hardest! almost everything here is full panel (which is great for the big bump for me) but the other option is that demi-panel thing with the thick elastic that goes right across the lower belly. it hurrrrrts! I can't really find anything (decently priced) with the elastic pocket section instead. I might have to use a belly band thingy for a little while instead.

@FannyMae: I just saw the side panel ones for the first time today. I will have to try them this time!

@EBSC: @peaches1038: @Finfan: Thanks!
The appointment went fine, but was a little nervous. The nurse left to go do the test and didn't return for almost 20 minutes. I was kinda starting to freak out. She had gotten a call back from a patient that she had to take, so I totally understand but it was a long 20 minutes.
They moved my EDD to 11/21 which I knew they would based on LMP. My next appointment isn't until April 24 which seems oh so far away. Hoping the next few weeks go quickly!

@Finfan: That's the worst! My DH was like, why don't you just bring in your collection of pee sticks to show them? Why are those still in the bathroom drawer? Umm, I don't know, but don't throw them away...yet.
nectarine / 2047 posts
@JennyG: hahah I have all my pee sticks in my nightstand too. I can't make myself throw them away! So funny!
cherry / 178 posts
@JennyG: glad it went well!!
@peaches 1038: And I still have my stick in my nightstand too - it's proof that I'm not making this up, when an appointment is still 3 weeks away!

EDD: 11/19 by ovulation but the doc's office is basing off lmp so 11/17
How far along: 6ish weeks
First child? No, 2 year old DS already
First doctor appointment: Had my phone appt with the nurse last Friday. Appt with the OB will be on 4/10. Even though I have never been seen by this office they ordered betas for me last week and placed an order for an ultrasound as well. The nurse wants me to schedule the ultrasound for April 6-9 but April 6, 7, and 9 are absolutely not possible. I'm having a hard time deciding to schedule it April 3 or following the rules and doing it April 8, those extra 5 days seem so long.
Any symptoms so far? Heartburn (which started crazy early with DS too) and nausea.
Who have you told? DH and my mom. Last time we told DH's parents early as well but he has agreed to hold off this time until I'm ready to disclose.
coffee bean / 47 posts
@jennyG; @peaches1038: LOL, I've kept all
Of mine too! Heck, when I got my first smiley face on an OPK I tried to keep that too but the face disappeared after like 10 minutes. Bummer! I've taken pictures of them too. My mom asked me how I knew I was pregnant of I hadn't seen the dr. I showed her a test. She said "don't test lie sometimes?" Luckily for me I took 7 (-: 7 don't lie.
@peaches1038: I'm hopefully I'll find it soon. I messed with it a little today, I got a quick reading of 152 but it went away. I'm thinking next week will be my week.
@clover: Congratulations! I'm jealous of your ultrasound. My dr didn't say anything about having one. Hope all goes well for you!

@JennyG: hahah I have mine in a spot that won't be bothering anybody soon - my box of pads and tampons!
@clover: congratulations and welcome

EDD: Nov 29
How far along: Almost 5 weeks.
First child? No, DD is 19 months.
First doctor appointment: Scheduling it on Monday. My practice doesn't like to see you before the 8 week mark for some reason.
Any symptoms so far: Gas. Ugh... I had painful gas with DD and I guess with this one too! I am just praying the nausea doesn't come back/stick around. Last time it lasted the entire pregnancy.
Who have you told? DH, DD (who doesn't count since she is 1...) And a few friends of mine. I just couldn't wait even though we agreed to not tell anyone until after the first Dr.s appt. I'm bad.

@JennyG: Thanks for updating!
Welcome and congrats to the new mamas!!!
So who has ultrasounds this coming week? Mine is on Thursday!
kiwi / 673 posts
@sarahnicole218: Mine is first thing Monday morning. I'll only be 5 weeks 4 days, so we're just hoping to see a sac and correct positioning. I'm super nervous that because my RE scheduled me so early that she's worried about something. The nurse didn't say anything, but I can't help my thoughts going that way.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
@Hoots: de lurking to ask if you're still seeing Dr. R? They do embryo transfers the last week of the month so that's probably why she wants to see you so early.
kiwi / 673 posts
@Leialou: Yeah, I am. Thanks for making me feel better. She's been watching my betas super closely for the last two weeks, so I think I'm just still nervous because of that.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
@Hoots: I completely understand being nervous. FX you have a great ultrasound.
persimmon / 1259 posts
@Hoots: I understand the nerves...I'm so anxious for mine! I will keep you in my thoughts, I'm sure there is a good reason for seeing you early! Good luck!
