@PinkElephant: Glad to hear you had a positive outcome! Expecially because you had 1 pregnancy with and one without bleeding. I assumed that this pregnancy would be uneventful because my first one was!

@Plainpistachio: I'm thinking about buying the same doppler you got. Looks like it's a little more expensive than other ones, but It's basically the only one that's sold on Amazon! I'd rather not buy from Ebay or those random slightly sketchy looking sites. Do you like it? Looks like it has good reviews.

@littlebear16: glad everything is okay! Hoping it stays that way!
@Mrs. Confetti: awesome! That's such a cute picture!

@littlebear16: so glad everything is ok!
So today is my last day of work I'm taking the rest of the week to not think about it, and this weekend we are traveling for DH's high school reunion, but then I'm going to start sendin out resumes.
Nothing new with me this week, but I will say, if you haven't tried the Ovia app, you should, the size comparisons are so funny! This week baby is the size of a troll doll lol
Hope everyone else is doing well as we cruise into the second trimester!
pomelo / 5326 posts
@LAZB: I'm glad you are taking a little time to not think about work before you begin the job hunt. I hope that you find something quickly! I think Ovia is hilarious too. My babe is the size of a Swiss Army knife this week. I preferred the image of a troll!
Nothing new with me. I'm feeling the occasional movement but It's very infrequent. My morning sickness has pretty much disappeared and my bump is getting large!! I have my anatomy scan booked for June 10th and can't wait to see baby again!

@kes18: @LAZB: Thank you!
@delight: Was the Swiss army knife under the fun and games option? So odd!

Sorry I havent been around! How is everyone feeling? @delight: we wont find out the sex, in case you want to document that
I am 15 weeks now and starting to feel better but still very tired. This is my second pregnancy and my first is 14 months old. I LOOK 7 months pregnant...oops. I am so worried about being so huge HELP! LOL
cherry / 116 posts
@littlebear16 yeah I love it! I told myself I'd check once a week (to not be obsessed) but so far since I got it, I've checked every morning lol. I can always find the heart beat within seconds or minutes. It's best to do in the morning on an empty stomach, otherwise I usually can only find my blood flow. I'm such a worrier and the device has me cool as a cucumber now. I can hear the baby wiggle around too. Since my symptoms are light and I'm not showing, it has definitely made it real for me and allowed me to feel more of a connection and own my pregnancy status, if that makes sense.
pomelo / 5326 posts
@littlebear16: yes it was in fun and games! I'm keeping it as a yellow canary this week as that is nicer to think of than a knife!
@daniellealys: I'll add you to team green! Yeah! I feel huge too. I haven't put on weight thankfully, but am feeling better now too and eating more so I'm sure the pounds will start piling on. I'm just trying to eat healthy snacks this time!

@daniellealys: I had like five chocolate chip cookies and milk for dinner last night. And a banana, because, you know, that makes it healthy

@Plainpistachio: I'm glad you like it! Mine's arriving on Wednesday! I'm sure I'll check every day too. At least until I can feel movement.

Asking here rather than a general thread since we are all around the same gestation....
What are you wearing for casual bottoms right now? I currently have one pair of non-maternity jeans that fit (my others are a little too high rise to be comfortable). Wearing pants open with a belly band isn't working (it just rolls it's way up and exposes my open fly), and my maternity jeans don't stay up! I even bought a pair with side-elastic inserts, thinking they'd be better, but nope...still creeping down.
I SAH with two kids, so dresses are less doable than before when I was working. Hoping soneone has a good trick (or a recco for maternity clothes that run on the small side!)

@PinkElephant: My go to are full panel maternity jeans with the panel folded down and a fitted tank top to help keep everything in place. I have a lot of fitted Camisoles from the buckle that I live in! It's not full proof but it works well enough for me to chase my boys all day. Failing that I throw on a maxi skirt and top.
grapefruit / 4584 posts
@MrsRcCar: Good tip, thanks! I'll try folding the panel (and some longer, tighter tanks).

@PinkElephant: I have two pairs of maternity jeans but not really wearing them yet. My favorite are the maxi skirts from target. they're the ones with the wide waistband. They had them last year and more this year. I have 2 and I also have one of the shorter ones (so that when it's super hot I will be comfy). I think I may pick up another short one. Best part is they are non-maternity so they're still awesome when you're not pregnant. I don't know how they'll hold up when we're real big but I'm guessing they will be stretchy enough to get me through most of the summer. I hope! I don't know how well the maxi's work for short people, I am 6' and they work great for me. Short ones would work for anyone. Super comfy!

@PinkElephant: I am wearing my full panel pants, but it is super annoying having to hitch them back up every 5 minutes. I'm totally going to try to fold the panel down and see if that helps! I can't fit into my regular pants anymore.
The weather is getting nicer so I've been wearing comfy dresses too, sometimes paired with leggings. I'm sure as a SAHM you don't want to wear dresses, but I find them quite comfy. It's such an awkward stage right now, I'm looking forward to my maternity pants fitting nicely!

@delight: I might have to follow my four year old's dress code and start rocking yoga shorts under my dresses so I can sit on the floor! I've got tons of early pregnancy friendly dresses, if it would just warm up here (New York)!
pomelo / 5326 posts
@PinkElephant: It's still cool here in Ontario too, but with leggings and a cardigan, I've been sporting a few spring dresses. Hoping it'll warm up soon!!
grapefruit / 4584 posts
@delight: You know by the time it finally warms up, we will have big sweaty baby bellies and will be cursing the heat. It's a no win situation - other than the babies, haha
pomelo / 5326 posts
@PinkElephant: haha that's true for sure. I am a wee bit thankful that we aren't due in the heat of summer though. My DD was an August baby, and it was a bit unbearable at the end!
apricot / 441 posts
@PinkElephant: at this stage I am wearing mostly inset bands or short panel - but for casual wear, leggings!

I've been away on vacation for the past week and a half but we're flying home tonight.
I've been doing the fold down of the full panel pants. Here in Florida I've been living in dresses but back in Seattle it's still pretty cool so I mostly wear leggings

@littlebear16: so glad everything is ok! It is so stressful and the only thing that helps is seeing that baby and heartbeat.
I had a random bleeding incident on the first full day of our trip - bright red blood and cramping and I was just a wreck in the middle of DisneyWorld. My IVF office was amazing at getting us into another IVF clinic about 30 minutes from the resort to get an ultrasound and check up done...and fortunately baby looked great and they couldn't see any source of bleeding. I spent the rest of our trip riding one of those electric chairs which was slightly embarrassing but every time I tried to walk a good distance at a normal pace I would start cramping so DH insisted we get the electric chair. It was embarrassing at first but I got over it eventually

@LAZB: yay for baby boy
I've missed so much! So exciting to see what everyone is having!

Had an appointment today, no scan, so we still don't know the sex. My anatomy scan is June 9th, which seems like ages from now. The heart rate was a lot lower this time (156 bpm), which does make me wonder.....maybe it's a boy after all
@delight: they officially shifted me to a due date of Nov 5th now - I liked the 7th because DH, DD1, DD2, and I all have a 7 in our birthday....but oh well!

16 weeks today. I was looking forward to getting out of the house today but my oldest isn't feeling well. So we are having a movie day, hoping he will feel better tomorrow.
I did get all my genetics back (they didn't include sex of baby) and it was all great. However I did come back a carrier for a kidney disorder so we are getting a carrier test done with DH to see if he carries the same gene for the disorder.
My next appointment is Friday morning. I am hoping to schedule our anatomy scan sooner rather then later. I can't wait to know what this baby is.

@MrsRcCar: yeah for 16 weeks! I hit that tomorrow! I'm glad genetics came back all ok. How come it didn't include gender? Was it a NIPT? Hope DS feels better soon!
@PinkElephant: June 9th will be here before you know it! Mine is the 10th. I wish I could have mine sooner but I have that day off work so booked it then. I've changed your EDD on our roster. Oh and I think 156 is still in the girl range at this time isn't it? I know mine was 160 a few weeks ago and my doctor friend said that would make it a girl!
@sandy: oh my goodness I'm glad everything is ok! What a scare to have that happen on vacation. I'm glad your clinic worked its magic and was able to find you a doctor quick! Hope you have a safe flight home and that you were able to somewhat enjoy the trip!

@delight: Thanks! And you're right - according to the wives tale, boys are below 140. I was just used to seeing it so high the past few appts (170s) that this seemed super low. Maybe baby was sleeping!
grapefruit / 4712 posts
@delight: they did a bunch of blood tests. I actual finish my genetics blood work on Friday after my appointment. I am not sure why it didn't include gender but that's ok. I am glad to know that genetics are on our side.
grapefruit / 4584 posts
@delight: @MrsRcCar: I've done genetics bloodwork that wasn't NIPT and didn't include the baby's sex (grrrr!). Mine was for specific things like Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Spina Bifida, Cystic Fibrosis, Fragile X, etc. and was considered part of the NT scan (though I didn't do the Spina Bifida one until this appointment at almost 16 wks.)
grapefruit / 4712 posts
@PinkElephant: I know they tested for like 105 different disorders plus chromosome issues. We are concluding the downs and trisomy 18 testing Friday. Although the first set looked perfectly normal.
pomelo / 5326 posts
@PinkElephant: @MrsRcCar: so many tests out there. I wish life was simpler and we didn't have to worry about any of this.
