@Sadieloo: yep, when she's in the mood she tries SO hard to talk to us!!!

I love when J talks, it's adorable. Also full disclosure... We went to the mall yesterday to get out of the house. I wore a nursing tank and a chambray shirt over it. So while I was getting a pair of shoes, I felt my strap come down... No big deal I thought, until I realized the tank had come undone and my boob was just hanging it. Luckily the shirt was buttoned but i had a tiny leak stain... So embarrassing!!! Tell me I'm not the only one who's experiencing these situations. Also motherhood maternity is the best bc they let me nurse in their changing rooms.

@kjpugs: so cute! Amazing how much has already changed in such a short period of time.
@Redmini1: def not alone. I can only imagine how many people have seen my breast at this point and/or milk stains

@Sadieloo: DD babbles up a storm but my new favorite is her laughs! Her entire face lights up with a huge smile and she chuckles or more recently discernible laughter!
@Redmini1: Aww lol don't worry, you aren't alone!

@Redmini1: You are not alone! Those clasps don't stay put very well.
@Sadieloo: She coos and babbles a lot and it's so cute! She's blowing spit bubbles as well. I never thought spot would be so cute!

@evansjamie: Alex is also doing spit bubbles...and drooling a bit more. His other trick that cracks me up are his big man farts and burps. He's had those for awhile.
@MapleMoose: wow - laughing already?!? I can't wait for that!
@kjpugs: thought you'd be interested to know that I finally broke down and bought the medela pump in style. Coining your term, I couldn't handle the Ameda purely crap any more. It came today and I can't wait to see if its better. FYI - my LC said that There has been a quality control issue with a Ameda and the company is well aware.

Happy topics - I like this LO loves to giggle & talk for about 10 minutes after every single feeding. I look forward to it so much! She is so curious & loves to study everything around her. I know everyone thinks this about their babies, but she really is smart!

@Sadieloo: Ok, now I'm scared. I haven't opened mine yet. Maybe I should just send it back and get a PISA.
kiwi / 726 posts
@daniellemybelle: that's awesome! And obviously our kids are geniuses
@evansjamie: I have yet to try the medela, but the consensus among my mom friends is that it's the best and ameda is the worst. I'll keep you posted.
cherry / 163 posts
@sadieloo: @evansjamie: I have the Medela PISA and it works pretty well. The only thing I've found with it is to make sure you have the correct size flanges but I imagine that's the same with any pump... It made all the difference.
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@evansjamie: My ameda was horrible as well, but there is a thread on here of ppl loving it. I bought a PISA for home (I was given one for work) bc I couldn't use the ameda and I sometimes need to pump at home.
watermelon / 14467 posts
@Sadieloo: @Redmini1: @jetsa: I have two Amedas, one that I bought from somebody for $50 that I have been using, and the one from my insurance company. I like the Ameda I've been using, that's why I went ahead and got another one so I could have one at work and one at home. The one I've been using is older, so maybe that's why it works so well. I haven't opened the other one because I wanted to be able to return it if needed, and you can't return them once you open them.
cherry / 163 posts
@Evansjamie: so smart to have two... I've been thinking about doing the same thing for when I return to work... I can lock it up in my desk which would be nice to not have to take it back and forth... I'm at least going to buy extra accessories for it.
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@Sadieloo: woohoo Medela! I honestly put Ameda at least partially at blame for me having so many pumping issues still. I still am angry at it. Two LC's and multiple suppliers have concurred that it's crap. I even called my insurance to complain about it and they said "oh is it an Ameda?" That says a lot!! Interesting that yours said the same. The company should be ashamed.

Are any of your LO's SERIOUSSSLY drool-y? E is soaking the top I her shirt lately! I thought they didn't start drooling til teething but maybe I'm wrong?
watermelon / 14467 posts
@kjpugs: Hyla is drooling a lot more and blowing spit bubbles. It's cute!
cherry / 163 posts
@kjpugs: serious drool over here... I always keep burp cloths handy or bibs on her, I just use cheap cotton bibs.
grapefruit / 4862 posts
Phew! Glad to know I'm not alone and we're all drooly.
Anyone else's baby have a little flatness on one side? We do and we are working to correct it but man she prefers that side! We switched the side of the crib her head goes on so hopefully that helps!
kiwi / 726 posts
@Redmini1: the standard flanges have been working for me, but I still wonder if it's the best fit and something else would work better.
@evansjamie: I'm happy to send you my old Ameda. If you want it, I suggest getting new party (just the tubing and plastic cups).
@kjpugs: that's crazy. Ameda should really get itself together. I'm sure it's caused countless women unnecessary stress (myself included)! Alex is drooling a bit more and is making spit bubbles as well. He has a but of a flat spot on the back of his head as well. It's not too noticeable.
cantaloupe / 6669 posts
@kjpugs: Not much drool over here! As far as flatness, not really, but LO really prefers one side too so I am trying to work on it. We also need to be more diligent about tummy time since she has been spending a lot of time in the swing (cue mommy guilt).
Well, LO must feel bad for us, because the night after our horrible day, she slept through!!! 10:30pm to 5:30 freaking AM. I'm pretty sure she was just worn out from screaming all day but hey, we'll take it. I got up at 2:30am and pumped because I was engorged, another rarity. Tonight I actually think she might have STTN again - I woke up at 3:30am & needed to pump again but DH had put the pump in her room, and I woke her when I went to get it. He gave her a bottle & she was back down in 10 minutes! Please let this not be a total fluke...
In other news, I am still obsessed with my low supply situation. Now I am really starting to think LO has a tongue tie even though I have been told she doesn't. We have literally all the symptoms. I realized the pains that I have been having that at one point I thought were thrush are vasospasms, which is kind of scary because her latch could be doing serious damage to my nipples! I don't know if we have the money or mental energy to see yet another LC though. I'm at a loss. I love nursing despite all our challenges but now I'm worried it is damaging me.
watermelon / 14467 posts
@daniellemybelle: Could you get a referral to a pediatric ENT? Or ask your ped to check for a tie so your insurance will cover it. I am starting to think that Hyla might have a tie, I noticed that she doesn't stick her tongue out past her gum line. I'm going to try some things I found on kellyMom to test it.
I hope this isn't a fluke. You know how Hyla's sleep kind of sucked? Well, most of the week she had been going to bed at 11 and getting up to nurse at 3:30. But Friday she had a complete meltdown on FaceTime with her Moomaw at 9:30 (WHY my hubs insists on FT when I say she is tired, I'll never know, and his mom, God love her, takes 15 minutes to say goodbye), so I put her to bed and she slept from 10:30 until 4:30, nursed, and went to bed until 6:00, nursed, and then slept until 8:00! And last night she slept from 9:30 until 4:30, nursed, and got up at 7:30! Please please please don't be a fluke!

@Sadieloo: Thank you for the thought, but I have two Amedas already, one older one I bought and the one from my insurance.

Anyone's babes rolling over yet? E isn't. She kind of looks like she's getting there during tummy time but it always ends up with her having a meltdown. HATES tummy time. I think @MrsTiz: 's LO is rolling over? Anyone else?
cantaloupe / 6669 posts
@evansjamie: LO can stick her tongue way out, but apparently she could still have a tie. Unfortunately my pediatrician doesn't think anything is wrong, so no referral, but I am going to see if we can go get it checked out without one & still have it covered.
@kjpugs: No rolling over yet! She is crazy strong though so maybe we just need to start enticing her. Though honestly I am scared of what will happen when we stop swaddling so I think rolling over can probably wait!
grapefruit / 4213 posts
@kjpugs: Lately the past few days M has been trying to roll and today she's half rolled from back to side a few times during her nap and from tummy to side a few times during tummy time. I don't think she gets how to do it when she wants yet but she's getting the hang of it.
watermelon / 14467 posts
@kjpugs: Same here. She almost gets there and then has a meltdown. She's rolled back to side once.
grapefruit / 4079 posts
@kjpugs: M hates tummy time on the ground. He can hold his head up when we are holding him up but has no interest on his tummy. He also has torticollis and greatly favors turn his head to one side so he has a noticeable flat spot. We are working with a physical therapist while doing positioning and stretching at home. It has made a difference but I'm still afraid he will need a helmet.
watermelon / 14467 posts
@ladybee: I have a friend whose daughter had torticollis and needed the helmet. It worked really well and she didn't have to wear it as long as they thought, but I hope that M doesn't need it.
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@ladybee: I don't think E has torticollis- the ped said it's likely from US favoring one side (I think about how we hold her/lay her down and it makes sense) so we just are flipping how we do it and hope that will work.
My cousin had a helmet and it worked well! He's a twin and it helped me tell them apart too, haha I hope you can avoid that though!

@kjpugs Major Cuteness. I love this photo.
Hi Ladies, Just checking in to say hi! Georgi is doing well and sleeping a bit longer - one night she did midnight to 6:15am and I was in heaven. What a difference a coupla extra hours makes.
No rolling over yet, but she scoots and kicks her legs like crazy.
I finally went to a neighborhood moms and babies meetup this past week -- it was great to meet some people in a similar place. I was nervous beforehand but everyone seemed nice. I feel like I really missed out not having a structured "new moms" group to attend weekly, hopefully this will be a great outlet.
Can you guys believe two months have gone by? It seems like yesterday we were on the countdown. I hope everyone is doing well and happy holidays!
Here's a photo of my PooPoo. She's filling out! Not the spindly little thing I gave birth to!

So, is anybody else's baby started moving a bunch? I went in several times tonight to rescue Hyla from various perils in her crib: banging her head on the side, getting her legs out from between the slats, etc. she twists and turns trying to wake herself up, and I'm not used to this.
@MrsMed: I cannot believe it's been nearly 2.5 months! Where did my tiny baby go? Hyla has gained nearly six pounds and three inches.

I'm dying over here. Baby girl is refusing to sleep. She wouldn't nap longer than 45 min at a time all day. It's 10pm, her last nap was at 5. She'll drop off for 5 min then wake up FREAKING out. My sanity cannot handle this.
