I have my 12 week ultrasound on 4/2 ... (my birthday!!!!)
I am pretty sure I am going to starve to death tonight... no car, and no food I can/will eat. DYING.

I should know this, but have you guys been able to see the heartbeat at 7 weeks? They scheduled me for March 15th but I may consider pushing it back a week when I am 8 weeks just to be sure we see a heartbeat. I want to be able to tell my parents over easter when I am 9 weeks assuming we are good.

@T.H.O.U.: my RE didn't want to see me till 7 weeks because he knew we'd be able to see a heartbeat.

Next week is going to be a busy week... i have my 1st appt on monday and then i'm going with my SIL to visit the day care where she sends my niece. Hopefully we'll fill out an application and get on the waiting list. My niece was on the wait list for almost 9 months and didnt start until she was 6 months old. We'll need coverage by 10-11 weeks

@Chillybear: Next week is going to crawl for me, since I'm still waiting for my first appointment.
Today is the first day of the Bella band, and right now I'm not a fan. It keeps rolling up on the bottom and the back of my pants are sticking out.

@evansjamie: I was wondering if that contraption worked when i saw it at target over the weekend

@evansjamie: I always had the same issues and was never able to use it.

@T.H.O.U.: I had my appt on exactly 7w (and I think I might be a few days behind due to O date but they still kept my DD) and we got to see the heartbeat! It flickered and was SO cute.

I guess now we're at the point where this is pretty much it for October mama's! CRAZY!

@T.H.O.U.: We very clearly saw a heartbeat at 6w2d.
DH said this morning that my belly is "different." He said it feels harder & rounder, and "I know that belly," according to him. I didn't have the heart to tell him that my thighs are harder & rounder too. I've just been eating like crazy!
Any of you already thinking about childcare? (Has this been mentioned before?) The daycare blog post made me think of it - one of the commenters said she had a daycare lined up at 8weeks!
watermelon / 14467 posts
@knockedup_nowwhat: My husband calls mine my poochie belly. If he weren't so darn cute when talking about the baby, I'd probably be pretty upset about it. I was looking at it yesterday and I can't wait for it to look more like a real baby belly instead of a food baby belly.

I'm only 5w3d and I'm so bloated I'm not buttoning my pants. So uncomfortable! M/s came back at lunch today. Threw up in my mouth on the bright side I feel pregnant again. I feel like time is moving so slow since I still have two weeks to my first appointment.
I will be calling after our second u/s to lock down daycare. I'm a teacher and they offer a staff daycare. I don't want to miss my chance to go on the list because I waited too long. It's a huge discount in cost.

@knockedup_nowwhat: @evansjamie: LOL, I play the game daily of "FUPA or baby belly?" I recently lost 50 lbs so my husband, when I asked him last night, said how I had lost my belly and now it was coming back and looked like it used to... he kind of stumbled and I told him to choose his words carefully hahah! I can definitely tell the difference it looks/feels like something going on there!
grape / 91 posts
@KJfromNJ: Haha! I'm pretty convinced that there's no way the baby is making any difference... other than making me eat like crazy.
So, confession: I forgot to take my prenatals last night. And today, almost NO morning sickness! Are my prenatals making me sick??

@knockedup_nowwhat: THEY CAN!! I've been taking mine since November so I know mine aren't, but my OB said they often can and if so, I think it's just folic acid (?) you can take a pill of at least the 1st tri, because that's all you really need. Honestly a lot of stuff in the prenatal doesn't absorb well with the other stuff in it, so it doesn't do as much and is mostly necessary to get you folic acid. Check with your OB/google but I know that's what mine said!
@Chacha: I eat my words, our board IS still growing! Congrats and welcome!

@knockedup_nowwhat: you may wantto try another brand because yes prenatals can make you sick. I LovE the vita fusion gummies. They don't have iron though.

@Jennimac: @Mrs. Monkey: @fuzzypeaches: Thank you so much for your support! I'm 7w2d today and my symptoms still haven't returned. I've been trying to keep what you ladies said in mind and it's really helping me to just remain calm.
@Chacha: Congratulations!! So happy you joined!
grapefruit / 4079 posts
@T.H.O.U.: I love the vitafusion gummies!! I knew they didn't have iron or calcium. I get enough calcium in my diet, but is iron important?
@Buninoven: Have you had your first appointment yet? I keep reading everywhere that its common for people not to have symptoms yet so I wouldn't worry. One day you'll be wishing for the day you didn't feel like poop.
@chacha: Welcome!! My due date is the 28th!
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@ladybee: Iron just depends on the person. Some people get anemic very easily (usually you are really tired) and iron helps with that. But iron also can cause bad constipation which is another lovely pregnancy symptom a lot of women encounter.
I eat a lot of cheese, yogurt and milk so I think I am ok on calcium.
The other symptom I have noticed is that I burp a lot from those prenatals. I was on a different kind and I swore I was going to be sick from them. The other nice thing about the VitaFusion is that it is 2 gummies per day so to help soften the impact on my stomach I would take one in the morning and one at night.

@BunInOven: my SIL so lovingly reminds me that she almost never ever felt sick. My MIL too! So you are lucky!!! Just know it's normal to not have symptoms! Hope yours stay at bay and all stays good!!!

Hi ladies! Today, I take back my comment about only having 1-2 days of nausea. It's come back with a vengeance (though, I still haven't thrown up, it was close last night).
Verdict on the BellaBand: Not worth it. I borrowed mine from a friend who hated it as well. It puts pressure on just the right spot to make me want to toss my cookies, especially after lunch when I'm particularly stuffed.
@Chacha: Welcome!

@ladybee: @KJfromNJ: I'm hoping it's just that I'm one of the lucky ones who doesn't have MS every day this early in the pregnancy. My initial appointment and first ultrasound are on 3/22, when I'll be 10w3d. It is the earliest my doctor could work me in, but the wait feels like torture. Thank you ladies for your words of support! It's really helping me to stay calm and not give up hope!

Hey ladies, I would like to know what kind of teas you are drinking? I forgot to ask my doctor at my appt and not sure what is ok when pregnant. I've completely cut out all caffeine just to be safe, but I'm really craving a hot drink!

I just had my first appointment- LMP puts me at 7w3d, baby was measuring 7w1d with a good heartbeat, so that was encouraging. I'm about to call to schedule our first trimester screen, and I go back to the regular OB on 3/29. I want to throw up all the time, and have been on constant Zofran for the last week and a half, which definitely helps, though doesn't make it go away. I actually find that the only time I'm NOT practically incapacitated with nausea is while exercising- went to Crossfit last night and was exhausted and dragging, but didn't feel like puking, so there's a plus!
I do actually like the Bella Bands, but I didn't start to use them till closer to 12, 13 weeks, etc. when I had a bit more of a belly to keep them from rolling up. I've also been known to just use rubber bands to keep my jeans "buttoned" when I can't bear the thought of actually buttoning them.
watermelon / 14467 posts
@Lozza: I'll have to try the bella band again in a few weeks to see if I feel differently about it. Thank you for the insight!

@Mrs R.: i picked up Yogi Mother to Be tea and its not bad and it does help with the nausea

@Lozza: I'm also taking Zofran because my m/s is pretty much 24/7. Do you find you get really hungry after taking it? I'm always starving about 15 minutes after I take it.
Right now carbs are pretty much my best friend... nothing else sounds good. Also the smells, holy moly! I walk into the house and I can immediately tell what DH has made for breakfast, lunch, snack etc and usually they aren't good smells.
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@Redmini1: I feel exactly like you! Just started Zofran today. It's made a HUGE difference. I am actually eating lunch. Seriously this is a BIG DEAL. Even if it's just homemade french fries.
cherry / 163 posts
@KJfromNJ: Me too! It's the only way I can keep food down. I had a subway sandwich (the steak one) and it was the best thing ever. DH was just happy I was eating something. Though yesterday wasn't as great and I could only get an english muffin down. The thing is my Dr's office only gave me 12 pills and if I need more I have to go back in, no automatic refills... is yours like that too?
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@Redmini1: mine gave me a 1 week supply (3x a day max so 21 pills) and 2 or 3 refills by March 28. I go back in April 2. It was $16 with my insurance, curious what it costs other people! I hope I don't have to take it 3x a day, because $16 a week is NOT a cost I want right now especially when I keep buying stuff at the grocery then deciding I hate it!
cherry / 163 posts
@KJfromNJ: for 12 pills, it was $5. Also agree about the grocery store problem. I keep counting down till we're through the 1st tri b/c our food bill is out of control.
cherry / 163 posts
@KJfromNJ: since they only gave me 12... I've been trying to use them sparingly but I've already taken 3 this week, 6 in all since I got them last wednesday (2/20).
ETA: It's a $20 copay every time I go in to the Dr so those add up pretty quickly and I still haven't gotten the bill from when I went into the clinic to get the prescription... that's also part of the reason I'm using them sparingly so I don't have to pay to go back in. If I can make it to 3/12 my next scheduled appointment, I can get another prescription. Not sure if that will happen though.

I just joined!
Due date: Oct 9
Months it took to conceive: 6 months
DPO you found out: 15 DPO. Took a test the morning before hosting a co-ed baby shower...wanted to know if I could have a beer at the party.
Symptoms: Tender breasts, cramps, mild nausea at times and major fatigue
Child #: 1
Most excited for: A healthy happy baby.
Most scared about: It all seems too good to be true- worried about losing the pregnancy. Had some intermittent spotting over the course of 2 weeks and had 2 symptom-free days. OB was willing to do a bedside ultrasound to make sure all was good especially since I was going on vacation to Mexico in a few days - got to see the baby at 7w2d (measuring 6w5d with 150 bmp). Needless to say, I relaxed and enjoyed my vacation. I have my first "official" OB appointment on 3/6
Updated to add my due date and next appointment!

I had horrible incapacitating nausa and dry heaving up until 16-17 weeks last pregnancy. I took zofran 1-2xs per day and ate nothing but mac and cheese and mashed potatoes during that time. Nothing really made me feel better. I had to even stop taking my prenatal for awhile. My son turned out perfect so I think you should eat what you can stomach and take the zofran if it makes you feel better.
I know that sometimes small independent pharmacies can sell zofran for a little cheaper. you might want to check it out.
