Also, loved our Amazon registry! I would recommend having one at a brick and mortar store in addition, though. People shop for showers at the last minute, and some people still just don't do online shopping.

@Mrs. Yoyo: that's a good point! We aren't having any showers (that I know of) here in FL because we have like approximately 4 friends, but even though we request people at our IN/NJ showers to ship their gifts some might still do last minute and bring to the shower. I hadn't thought of that. Ugh, better pack an extra suitcase.

I have weighed myself a few times over the last six weeks and surprisingly am only up about 2 lbs!! I'm shocked, since I usually gain when I go "off diet" (which I have been.... HOLY CARBS). I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth and now that I'm feeling better I'm going to try to be really careful. Having lost 50 lbs (well, 48.2, URG) over a year and a half before BFP, I don't want to put it all back on with this pregnancy.

@kjfromnj I am the same way! When I'm dieting, it seems like I can gain a pound or more a week, but now that I'm pregnant and not trying to lose weight, I haven't gained anything in the last eleven weeks! I'm hoping to hold off the poundage for a little bit more, but my appetite has been insatiable lately, so I'm terrified I'm going to wake up one morning and be up 7 pounds.
To update: my husband's cystic fibrosis screening came back yesterday and he's negative. That was a huge weight off my shoulders! I also had a quickie ultrasound yesterday and it was amazing! I am exactly eleven weeks, and the baby was jumping and punching and kicking. Watching it move was awesome. It's heart beat is still fast and strong at 175. I see the doctor again on April 1st when I'm officially out of the first trimester. It is going so fast!

@ChefAimee: it must be the extra we burn being pregnant? I think they said you need an extra 300 calories when pregnant, I haven't been keeping track of calories though, just eating when hungry and stopping when full. The ONLY time during my pregnancy that I've gorged myself was Friday for my DH's birthday dinner out. I can't resist enchiladas! So I guess listening to my body is working! That's probably helping you too.

@KJfromNJ: I'm surprised that I'm only up five pounds at 12 weeks (technically, 11w6d) with all the crap I've been eating. I guess my 1-2 healthy meals per day is balancing out the insane amount of french fries I've consumed over the past eight weeks.

12 weeks today! I second eating like crap... but I'm still puking at least twice a day so really it's whatever will stay down. Last night it was a small cheeseburger and fries from McDonalds. I'm hoping to go back to cooking when I'm able to keep food down.
watermelon / 14467 posts
@Redmini1: I was so proud when I was able to cook breakfast yesterday! I hope that time comes for you soon. Speaking of cheeseburger and fries, I finally have a pregnant nose: I was walking the dog yesterday, and all of a sudden, I smelled the most amazing, ketchupy McDonald's cheeseburger. One of my neighbors had just opened their door and tossed out a McD's bag into their garbage. I was across the street from his house, too.

@evansjamie: I'm jealous I won't even go near our kitchen right now. Crazy, how powerful the sense of smell becomes with PG, I didn't believe anyone when they told me.
grape / 91 posts
@evansjamie: @Redmini1: Ugh, my pregnant nose is not my friend. My dog has all kind of yucky smells that float up and its disgusting. DH can never detect them though.
I have horrible heartburn today. Always something different to remind me that I'm pregnant.
In other news, if any of you have Gap credit cards, today is 40% off! (I'm sure you got the email too.) I'm ordering a few pairs of maternity pants because slowly, all of my current pants are becoming too tight.

Today is appointment day, ladies! Sorry I haven't been around for a few days. I've been trying to keep busy so I don't worry about the appointment. It feels like it took forever to get here, but now that it's today it feels like it went so fast! I'll keep you posted on how today goes!
coffee bean / 47 posts
@knockedup_nowwhat I'm glad to hear that your pants are getting too tight too. I'm debating whether I should just go with the maternity or if I should just get a larger size for right now. It's a tough decision to make considering I know I'm not showing or anything yet.
watermelon / 14467 posts
@ChefAimee: I went ahead and picked up a couple of maternity pants for work. I didn't want to get a larger size knowing I would outgrow them. I'm also just trying to scoot through with most of my regular stuff until it's warm enough for dresses/skirts all the time, since most summer stuff tends to be pregnancy friendly.

@BunInOven: YAYYY APPT DAY!!! My bestie had hers yesterday (12w4d) and the pictures are just SO COOL. Can't wait to hear how yours goes!
I'm still not even NEEDING maternity clothes, but again... I wear PJ's all day. But my pants are stretchy so when I DO wear pants, that helps.
Also... we are getting MEXICAN tonight and it's literally all I can think of!
cherry / 163 posts
@BunInTheOven: Woo Hoo! Can't wait to hear how it goes!!
@KJfromNJ: Mexican sounds awesome, I'm on my own for dinner tonight so I think a little Qdoba might be in my future.

hahaha ... we must all be craving the same thing today... this morning i told my hubs we were going to Mad Mex for dinner I really want fish tacos.

Today, DH and I made the mistake of going to BRU at 4:00 on a Saturday. It was CROWDED! All we wanted to do was make sure the car seat I like fits in our backseat (it does). When we go to register, I'm going on a Tuesday afternoon.
On a positive note, at 12 weeks I can cook again! Chili never tasted so good!
blogger / pomelo / 5400 posts
@evansjamie: I had a total breakdown on my first trip to BRU! So overwhelming. I registered online -- couldn't take it! And congrats on being able to cook again. I'm only just now 10w and am eagerly awaiting that day. (Right now I'm eating crackers and cinnamon bread ... my first attempt at dinner came right back up when I tried to take my vitamin.)

@Mrs. Yoyo: I'm kind of dreading registering. I got so overwhelmed registering for our wedding. It definitely takes stamina!

@KJfromNJ: @Redmini1: Thank you for being so excited for me!!
Sorry it took so long for me to update! I came home from the appointment yesterday and passed out and slept most of today as well. I feel like my appointment took everything out of me so I just have no energy whatsoever!
I have great news to share! I had my very first ultrasound yesterday and based on my lmp, I was 10w2d, but the baby was measuring 10w6d! My doctor said my due date is 10/16 and she wants to keep it as that date. DH and I got to see the baby’s heartbeat and the baby was kicking! It was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen! We will be telling our family the news this week!
cherry / 193 posts
@evansjamie: Yay for being able to cook again! I will be 12 weeks tomorrow and I'm hoping the nausea drops off right on time like yours. Fingers crossed.
@ChefAimee: I'm debating the same thing. I'm down to one pair of work pants that will button up but the maternity clothes I have been looking at seem like they'll be too loose and baggy at this point. What to do???
@knockedup_nowwhat: Agreed on the super sense of smell. I never had a strong sense of smell before, so now it seems out of control. I wish I could use it for good but it seems like only the bad smells that it picks up!

@BunInOven: That's great! Enjoy sharing the happy news with your family.

I have been so busy lately but I just wanted to pop in and let you all know I got some great maternity stuff today!
H&M has some really cute maternity stuff if you can find a store by you that has the H&M Mama line. I got skinny black pants for $24 and mint skinny pants (SO CUTE!!) for $14.95.
The BeBand works ok, but I think I need to be a little bigger for it to hold my pre-pregnancy pants better.
I also got two cute shirts at Gap for $15 AND the biggest thing....
2 pairs of maternity leggings! I am 5'9" and have been unsuccessful finding long enough leggings to this point. The ones in Target by the BeBand cut off almost at my knee! So any of you tall girls should definitely check out Gap (:

Hey, ladies! It's been awhile since I've checked in. Right now I'm still having issues with feeling nauseous almost all the time. Today I was super hungry when I ate lunch, which resulted in me eating too much. Then, I felt horrible. I feel like I'm already showing, which I wondered about. This is technically my second and I was already showing with my first. I'm a lot bigger in the evening, too, but two of my sisters noted that I look pregnant when they saw me this past week.
Trying to pass the time until our next appointment! Glad that everyone is doing well and I'm glad that people have had good appointments.

Is anybody having trouble sleepig through the night? I've woken up the past few nights around 3:30 am. I fall back asleep after a bit, but it's just frustrating. What do you do about it?
watermelon / 14467 posts
@Jennimac: I wake up a lot too, and most mornings I'm up at six and can't go back to sleep. I feel like I'm showing too, but most likely I just look like I've put on a few pounds (seven, to be exact).

@Jennimac: @KJfromNJ: @evansjamie: I'm having troubles sleeping too. I think mine has to do with my congestion and not being able to breathe.
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@BunInOven: just saw your update! YAY for baby being a mover and a shaker How exciting!!!!!!!!! Did you tell your families yet?
watermelon / 14467 posts
@ladybee: Part of mine is the bathroom breaks, part of it is heat (our heater is right outside one of our windows), and I think most of it is congestion. I wake up parched from mouth breathing at least once a night.
pomegranate / 3032 posts
@BunInOven: Awesome news! Glad your appt went so well
@Jennimac: I wake up at least once a night to use the restroom and at least another time like around 4-4:30 that takes me awhile to get back to sleep

@KJfromNJ: Thank you so much!!! We told my side of the family yesterday and will be telling DH's side tonight! It's exciting to finally be able to tell everyone, but it feels odd since the news hasn't really even set in yet with me.
@Chillybear: Thanks so much!!!

@Mrs. Yoyo: I registered online too! For baby and for my wedding, I have NEVER used one of those scanner guns... haha!
@Jennimac: The eating too much thing made me puke several times when I was pregnant with my first.... It was soooo horrible. And I'm a lot bigger in the evening too, but when I was talking about that to some friends that have kids they acted like this was a crazy ridiculous phenomenon that they'd never heard of. I feel a less crazy knowing that someone else has noticed/experienced it!
blogger / pomelo / 5400 posts
@Jennimac: I've been doing the same thing with sleeping and eating. When I feel like I can keep something down, I eat like a normal person, which ends up being too much, which ends up making me feel really crappy. And yeah, I've been waking up early, then having to pee, then not being able to sleep again for like an hour
cherry / 163 posts
@BunInOven: Just saw your update, glad to hear it went so well! So exciting.
I agree with the sleeping issues, I'm guaranteed to wake up at least 2-3 times a night, mostly to use the bathroom.

I haven't been on to update, but had my 2nd appointment on Friday and everything looked good! I was 10w5d and heard a heartbeat of 164.
I've never had trouble sleeping, but lately I'm up at least once a night to use the bathroom and then I usually toss and turn until it's time to get up. I think part of the problem is out mattress - we purchased a fairly cheap memory foam about 4 yrs ago and we are thinking it's time for something new, so we will be mattress shopping very soon!
I felt horrible this weekend! I'm either always hungry or my stomach hurts or just feels funny.
I can barely fit into any of my dress pants for work...trying to hold out for warmer weather so that I can just wear dresses for awhile. I wish we had and H&M.. the closest is 4 hrs away!
