Big shout out to you mamas KU with baby #2. (Ugh that sounds like baby poop haha. Scratch that. KU with your second baby?!) I have NO ENERGY and DH asked me before he went to work (he works PM) what I would do tonight and I was like meh, probably nothing. Just making dinner wears me out! Kudos to you guys!

Also got a free sample of breathe right strips from their website and am trying one tonight to see if it helps with congestion. We'll see! My PM congestion is out of control.

I had my 11-14 week appointment today. Everything looks awesome! Because of my previous miscarriage, the doctor did an ultrasound today (they don't usually). I got to see the baby with heartbeat. It also moved a ton while we were viewing. According to the doctor, everything is growing right on track. My nausea is slowly dissipating... and I'm gaining weight (officially 3lbs so far). Doc says everything is going great.

Ladies, I need reassurance (yet again). DH and I had sex on Saturday, I had red spotting after. I know this can happen. Logical me knows not to freak out about it. Well every night since I've had horrible dreams about losing the pregnancy. My symptoms are so much better now that it's making me crazy. So this morning I POAS so I could see how dark the test line was to reassure myself. Ha! The test line was so much LIGHTER than the control line. What? Now I am going crazy. My appointment isn't until Monday, I want to change it to this week and DH says no. He's right, I don't have the time this week, and he already took Monday off work. Ugh

@ladybee: Don't freak out. Spotting is normal. We DTD the day before my appointment and everything was fine (but sore), and baby had a strong heartbeat.

We had our appointment today. It was quick in and out just to hear the heartbeat with the doppler. It was so strong! I am smiling just thinking about it. She said it was in the 160s. It was so reassuring and I'm more excited now than I have been so far, I think. I now feel a lot more confident about "going public." We'll tell the rest of our family and friends over the next couple weeks, though we'll probably wait for a Facebook announcement until I have talked to work... and I still haven't decided when exactly that will be.

Soon, I will be able to start using my REAL Hellobee profile on this thread!

@Chillybear: YAY! That is the cutest little nugget!

Speaking of nuggets, haha, do any of you have nicknames for your babies yet? We mostly say "the baby" but I have started to refer to him/her as a "nugget."

AND speaking him or her, do any of you have an inkling so far? I feel really strongly that it's a boy, but every dream I've had, it's a girl! I even had a dream where the midwife said to us while she was doing the doppler, "It's a girl!" And I was like, "Um, how do you know?"

@Chillybear: Look at that little cutie!

@knockedup_nowwhat: My husband has nicknamed the baby Woogie, after his childhood pet. He is also willing this child to be a boy, and most of the family hopes it's a boy, but I'm on Team Estrogen. I've had two dreams that it's a girl and one dream that it's a boy.

  20. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@ladybee: Don't worry about the lighter line. We had a girl on our board worry about the same thing. It turns out that later in pregnancy your body also produces a different kind of hCG which is not measured on a pregnancy test. Apparently if you dilute your pee with half water and then test, it works. This was proven by her, and told to her by her doctor. And that blood after sex is totally normal.

  21. Chillybear

    pomegranate / 3032 posts

@knockedup_nowwhat: My coworkers a few years ago declared that any future child i had would be nicknamed stromboli (boli for short), I guess because i'm italian(?). So thats what we've been calling it. I plan on telling my coworkers on friday and treating them to strombolis from a local pizza place

I'm kinda feeling boy... if we go by the shuttles method and the chinese gender chart we'll have a boy, Isnt heart rate over 155 girl? ours was 169 today

  22. knockedup_nowwhat

    grape / 91 posts

@evansjamie: Haha, Woogie! That's close to the nickname our dog has.

@Chillybear: That is the cutest way to reveal it! And a really cute nickname.

You made me remember the Chinese gender chart, so I tried it out... and it said girl! I then tested it for me and my two brothers... 3 out of 3 correct! It also seems like it is mostly right here on the boards, so now I am thinking it could be a girl a little bit more... but I would put my money on a boy still!

  23. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

@knockedup_nowwhat: According to the Chinese gender chart, LO is a girl. It was correct for both myself and my sister. We'll find out in a couple of months!

Is anyone thinking about doing an early elective gender scan? I'm debating it, but most likely will only do it if DH has to travel during my 20 week appointment.

  24. knockedup_nowwhat

    grape / 91 posts

@evansjamie: Would you do the scan with your provider, or at a third-party location? I'm a little hesitant about freestanding ultrasound places. It's tough because I'm not a huge fan of frequent ultrasounds in principle, but it's so hard because you want to see your baby! It's really tough for me to wrap my head around the idea that 20 weeks will be our only one from here forward.

You mentioning that your DH will be out of town though reminded me that I will need to schedule ours before DH goes out of town for work for SIX. WEEKS. He will come home on most weekends, but guh. That's going to suck. I hate that he will miss out on that part of my pregnancy.

  25. kjpugs

I'm loving all the posts! I want a girl so I bet it will be a boy. We're just calling it beebee right now!

I need to vent a little. I'll be 9 weeks tomorrow and still haven't had an appointment. I met with the nurse and did paperwork and I've had a ton of blood work done, but I still haven't seen a doctor/midwife. I'm so much more anxious this time around. I have no idea if everything is all right. It's just freaking me out. My husband keeps bugging me about telling our families but I really want to wait until we're sure everything is okay. I have an appointment scheduled for April 17th, which is when I'll be 12 weeks. It's standard for our hospital but the wait is killing me!

  27. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

@knockedup_nowwhat: it would be with a third party place. My practice only does one at 20 weeks. At least DH would come home most weekends! My hubby is pretty much gone from May 15 to August 15.

@Sweet T: my parents bugged me about not telling, but like you, I wanted to wait to have my first appointment (10 weeks). It's a long wait, but time has sped up since then.

  28. Mrs. Monkey

    cherry / 193 posts

@knockedup_nowwhat: DH is dying for a girl because his family is filled with boys so he's been referring to the baby as "she". I don't really have a feeling either way but I've been referring to the baby as "he" to try to bring DH around to the idea that it is a possibility!

I just tried the Chinese gender chart as well and it says girl.

We're a geeky family. No cutsie nickname can be accepted in our household. We've been calling the baby Schrodinger, as in Schrodinger's cat... cause we don't know it's actually there or not. hee hee... I'm sure the baby will be called Schrodinger until it's born, that's just how our family works.

Hi guys! Just stopping in to say I'm glad everyone is doing so great! AFM, ms is pretty much gone, I'm only dealing with congestion, fatigue, lack of appetite, and a large amount of CM. @knockedup_nowwhat: I have been calling it "the unborn" as of late. I have also refered to it as "the baby," and the "little croissant" (my husband's a baker). Also, I have an overwhelming feeling it's a girl. I also had a dream the other night that I had a baby girl too. I'm not banking on my instincts, however.

I have my twelve week check-up on Monday. I'm super excited to have seen how it has grown and what my doctor says.

I just refer to it as "New Baby." Like, LO knows there's a blurry black-and-white photo on the fridge that is called "New Baby."
