@evansjamie: Looking great! What a cute, round little bump you've got!

At 13 weeks mine still looks like chub and not a bump. Looking forward to it popping out a bit more.

Also, I really like the way the November board is set up. Sometimes I think there is a lot to follow on this one post? I'm everyone agrees I think we should make other boards.

If anyone can think a good thought for me today- going to the (regular) doc at 10:30, looks like my nasty ear infection is back. I'm going home for my sister's wedding in 2 days (and to see my new baby cousin on Wednesday!!) and REALLY didn't want to be sick Also I hate taking antibiotics while pregnant (allergic to penicilin club, yay) so I hope this time it actually FIXES IT instead of having it come back within a month

Ladies! I'm having major maternity clothes issues:

Old Navy and Gap have both discontinued their maternity sections here (in Montana...our "baby" selection sucks. No baby stores at all, limited selection at Target, and with the amount of pregnant women around here!) which leaves me with two racks at Target and an abbreviated Motherhood Maternity in the mall. Has anyone ventured online to order? I know Old Navy and Gap will both take returns in the store, which makes it easier, but any other stores you've looked at? I don't need anything yet, but I know in a few weeks, I will.

@ChefAimee: I ordered from Old Navy and Gap online. I was happy with my purchases.

@ChefAimee: My Old Navy has a very small maternity selection. I bought a maternity t-shirt there Saturday, and I ordered the same size I normally wear. If you're going to order from there online, keep in mind that the shirt grows throughout the day (will be good when I'm bigger, not so good now). I've had good luck ordering from Gap online; my pants fit well, but they are roomier in the leg than usual (which will be good as I expand). I haven't looked anywhere else, but I'm sure I will in the next few weeks and I'll try to report back with my findings.

We had a great appointment. Saw two arm buds and two legs buds. Everything looked perfect, as my doctor said. I can out at work and we will tell the rest of our families. We decided to wait and go Facebook public when we can find out what we are having and are past 20 weeks. We decided that will make us feel a bit more comfortable. I go back again in 3 weeks and I stop taking my progesterone when I finish what I have this week. I feel like that's a big step! Eek!

So, all in all a good day.

@evansjamie: Adorable Bump!... Mines getting more prominent too I bought my first pair of maternity jeans at target

@Jennimac: Great News!! So glad to hear that everything is going well and that baby has all its major parts!

@ChefAimee: I have thicker legs and I could not get one pair of old navy maternity jeans that fit right. I ended up getting a great pair of liz lange dark denim boot cut at Target though

@ChefAimee: I love my Gap stuff that I've ordered online (and they're having a 40% off sale today!)- especially the black work pants that I wear almost every weekday. I am kind of between two sizes normally, and I find that in maternity pants, the smaller size works better for me now, but I won't be surprised if that changes. Early second trimester is kind of a hard time since you don't really need all the space that a lot of maternity tops provide, but normal stuff may not fit right. I like below-the-belly pants (i.e. without panel) because I feel like they work better earlier in pregnancy, and are still fine later on. (I've been wearing my no-panel Gap black pants to work since like 9 weeks). Later in pregnancy, I feel like most maternity clothes are fairly forgiving, so I end up returning far fewer maternity clothes than non-maternity. For the first half of pregnancy, you can probably get away with non-maternity tops in non-clingy styles if you want to be able to try stuff on. With my first pregnancy I switched to maternity pants (or regular pants, unbuttoned with a Bella band) at the end of the first trimester, but I didn't really need maternity tops till halfway through second trimester or later.

@Chillybear: I LOVE my liz lange target maternity jeans- I feel like they're more flattering than my normal non-maternity jeans!

@Chillybear: I'm not a huge fan of Old Navy maternity jeans either. I'll have to try on a pair of the Liz Lange ones.

I bought one perfect pair of jeans for my last pregnancy and busted them out already. They are stupid expensive but cannot recommend them enough. they are so comfortable!!

As for ordering from Gap or ON online, I am a frequent offender. I just wait until everything goes on major sale... I feel like I'm not as picky about preg sizes bc even if something is big it'll fit later. Plus I'm not as worried about looking fat in something.

@Jennimac: SO HAPPY! I will be looking for facebook after a month or so Very glad it was a good appt for you!

Luckily for me my ear infection is actually just allergy related. I can ask tomorrow at my appt for stuff to treat it and can still see my baby cousin Wednesday! WOOT!

Hey ladies! Just checking in! We had a great weekend - told my brothers in a very cute way with their Easter baskets, and their reactions were priceless! Now that they know, and I'm 12 weeks tomorrow, the parade of breaking the news to those that don't know begins. We'll probably post on FB next week, but by then 90% of our FB friends will have been told!

I'm not sure if the back pain I'm experiencing is sciatic nerve pain? It's a dull but persistent, almost crampy, pain in my lower back and kind of radiates around my whole torso. Is that what others are experiencing?

Also, are you all sleeping on your side because you're pregnant? I have been sleeping in whatever position I can fall asleep in! I am having the HARDEST time sleeping still!

@knockedup_nowwhat: Aww how fun! Are they excited to be uncles?

I'm a side/stomach sleeper normally. I've been trying to sleep on my side but i still find my stomach comfortable until i need to pee.

@knockedup_nowwhat: I'm a stomach sleeper through and through. I tried last night to sleep on my side, and now my shoulder hurts. More often than not, I wake up on my back.

@Jennimac: it was supposed to be 30 minutes ago but they are running way late. I'm not getting my hopes up for an u/s.

  33. Lozza

    pear / 1837 posts

@knockedup_nowwhat: I don't worry about how I sleep. I'll sleep on my stomach until it becomes uncomfortable, and I don't worry about keeping off my back till at least 20 weeks, and even then my OB said with my first pregnancy that if it were a problem, I would get uncomfortable and want to move before it became an issue for the baby.

@Lozza: Thank you for the reminder of the 40% off sale at Gap! I thought it expired yesterday. I just bought myself some shorts and a shirt, although I wanted so much more that wasn't available in my size- ugh! Now I am just going to dream of all the cute outfits I almost got to wear. Maybe they will restock!

    Cheers!

@ChefAimee: Yes! Online ordering is your friend! Don't be afraid of it! Most places have a great return policy and once you find our your favorite pieces and size then you can look for stuff on ebay- which is the way to go. I love gap maternity as a main stream maternity line, the fit is great and the quality will last but of course it is a little pricey for temporary clothing.

Best of luck! Avoid the stores and do some virtual shopping!

    Cheers!

@Jennimac: uneventful, just a informational appointment. I guess I have to wait till our NT testing to see our baby.

  38. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

@ladybee: Did they listen for the heartbeat on the Doppler? I'm sorry you had to wait so long. When will they schedule your NT testing? We aren't doing any prenatal testing, so unless I do an elective scan, we won't see baby again until our anatomy scan.

  39. knockedup_nowwhat

    grape / 91 posts

@ladybee: Sorry to hear that. Will you at least get to hear the heartbeat with the doppler before your NT testing, assuming its not soon? We aren't doing the first trimester screening but I insisted we come back in when they thought they could pick up the heartbeat, because I didn't want to wait until my 15 week appointment for that reassurance. Ask for what you want!
