@knockedup_nowwhat: @evansjamie: @Jennimac: Nothing. We waited over an hour to be seen, then we answered all of our questions, gave us information on all the testing, and we left. He said 10 weeks is too early to pick up the heartbeat with a doppler and it would just cause panic if we didn't hear anything. He said he could see me for an u/s on Wednesday but that insurance wouldn't cover it because I'm almost in the time frame for the first trimester screening. Overall, I could have skipped the appointment. All the information given to us was already provided by our RE.

@ladybee: I'm so sorry! I can understand not wanting to cause worry, but we heard the heartbeat with the Doppler at my 10 week appointment. I hope you can see/hear baby soon!

@evansjamie: I know! Ugh, I'm so bummed. I wasn't planning on doing the screening till the end of the window but now I'm itching to see our baby for peace of mind so I will probably be going next week. My BF is giving me her doppler so after that I'll be able to listen on my own.

Just got back from our ultrasound and NT screening... everything looked great BUT baby didn't cooperate for the NT measurements so I have to go back Friday. Which is super inconvenient because it's at a place different from my OB and all the way across town. It's ok... didn't need that 3-4 hours in my day or anything ;p If it doesn't cooperate next time I have no idea what I'll do since I don't have any extra time next week!

So I'm really glad that someone is going with me to all my appointments. I stressed as soon as we walked out that the measurement on the picture said 10 wk 5 days and by my calculations, which are by no means scientific or precise, 11 wks 1 day. My BFF was like, "he said the baby is perfect. Calm down ." She also reminded me that my doctor is not going to give me false hope on anything. He wasn't even trying to measure from head to rump, so I'm not going to stress it. Okay, I'm chilling out. Sort of.

I had my first ultrasound last week and the little bug looked good! Baby was swimming around all over the place and it took a loooooong time for the technician to get a good reading.

@Jennimac: Yay for a great appointment!
@ladybee: Sorry for the disappointing appointment. Hopefully you'll get to see the baby next week.

@Rubies: YAY! Glad you joined in and that the U/S was great!
@AprilK: that stinks that you have to go back, but yay for an active baby!

@Rubies: I'll blame my pregnancy brain, but I didn't realize you were an Oct 2013 mama! Congrats!
@KJfromNJ: Yay! Excited for you!
We are slowly but surely going more and more public, and now I am ready for everyone to know! I want to post it on FB but I am waiting a but longer to tell work for a few different reasons. It's funny how I have evolved with this unexpected pregnancy... from being in denial to wanting to shout it from the rooftops!

We are leaving in 15 minutes... I am just DYING to get in the car and GO... I should have gone with the 7am one yesterday! But my husband works nights so that would never fly. Oh, and today is my birthday Hopefully it goes well and this can go down in history as the best birthday ever!
@knockedup_nowwhat: the last thing you said made me want to cry!!! So happy to see you so excited, what a crazy ride this has been!!!!! I can't wait to go 100% public either.

@Jennimac: So happy to hear your appointment went so well yesterday!! I’m so excited for you!!
@ladybee: Sorry your appointment wasn’t enjoyable. Hoping you get to see baby next week!!
@KJfromNJ: Good luck today!! Can't wait to hear your good news! Happy Birthday!!!

@Jennimac: At my first ultrasound (around 7 weeks) the baby was measuring two days behind what I thought it should be (based on LMP), and at my last ultrasound (at 11 weeks) the baby was measuring two days AHEAD of my LMP EDD. So I think it's really no big deal and some of it has to just do with whoever is doing the measurement.

So we had a CVS done last week on Friday and I just got the results of the FISH analysis (which looks for a few of the most common trisomies, like 21, 18, and 13, as well as making sure there are the right number of sex chromosomes) and everything looks good, and we're having a boy!

@Lozza: Congrats on great results AND on your baby boy!!! I'm so anxious to know what we're having!

All looks healthy and normal!!!! Baby was doing a headstand we had to go back and forth between regular and transvaginal to get it to lay down! But so so so happy!

@KJfromNJ: Isn't it more fun now that they actually look like a recognizable baby shape? (as opposed to the little bean with a heartbeat). Congrats on a good appointment!

@KJfromNJ: what a great birthday present! Baby looks perfect, congratulations! How many weeks are you?

@knockedup_nowwhat: @Redmini1: Thanks!
@evansjamie: Thanks! Clearly, finding out gender early wasn't the reason we did a CVS, but it is totally a nice perk...
DH is psyched- he totally wanted another boy.

@Lozza: Yay for the boy!
Hey everyone, just checking in...we were on vacation so I was pretty much MIA.
The Sonoline B Doppler works amazing. I got it from eBay (seller from Chicago). It was about $50 with everything. Worth every penny. I now can listen to the heartbeat whenever I want to and it is so comforting. I'm 14 weeks today.
We get to find out the gender Thursday (if the baby cooperates) and I am so excited!! We are hoping for a boy, but I only have dreams that I'm having a girl so we will see. Just wanted to say hello!

@kjpugs: That's awesome that you were able to see such a great pic of the baby and have a good appointment. A great bday present.
Just wondering how everyone's nausea and exhaustion are doing? I hoped that as the first trimester ended, things would start to feel back to normal. Such wishful thinking! I'm still not quite there. How about you ladies?
