So, some happy news! My nurse called with my blood test results for my quad screen. They came back normal this pregnancy!!!! I was so happy. also, yesterday I was talking to my mom and I felt three popcorn pops on the side of my lower stomach, like a bubble just popped three times in a row. Our next appointment is June 4 so just counting down the days and hoping the appointment is fantastic.

@Protectlove: I haven't worn my LO in a loooong time, but I find that even carrying him around at all is getting tougher- he's 25 months and 35 lbs, so he's just about the weight they tell you to stop lifting during pregnancy! I'm trying to get him used to having to walk on his own, get into the carseat on his own, etc.- I figure that even though I *can* carry him now, I don't think I'll be able to at all in a few months, and then I want him to get used to doing stuff on his own before the new LO comes since I won't be able to carry my toddler around anymore then, anyhow.

We bought our first big baby purchase today! Little miss now has her car seat. We went with the Graco ClickConnect 35, and drove all over Louisville looking for a Jenny Lind crib. I just wanted to see one and feel how it was put together, but nobody sells them in the store. Amazon, here I come!

@evansjamie: Did you find a Jenny Lind crib? Those are the vintagey ones right? Not sure if you meant you couldn't find one of those or the carseat? Pictures please I love seeing what other people get!!!

We just had another item purchased off our registry, and a bigger ticket one too! (Dream high chair!) Baby stuff can be fun!

@kjpugs: Not in town, but I just ordered one from Amazon. Here is a link: http://www.amazon.com/Davinci-Jenny-Lind-Convertable-White/dp/B002T1HH1I/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1368925337&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=Jenny+Lind+crib. It is the vintage one and I've always loved them.

Here is the link for our carseat: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=18597566

It's see-the-baby day! Please say a little prayer that everything looks healthy and normal at our anatomy scan in an hour (!!) and that LO is not feeling shy so we can find out boy or girl!

@Chillybear: I just love how nice the carseat feels! Plus I love how light it is. I have zero upper body strength. Do you like the handling of the stroller? I think I'm going to get a Joovy or a BOB with the adapter.

  24. Chillybear

    pomegranate / 3032 posts

@evansjamie: i did like the stroller. it handled well it is pretty large even when folded and kinda heavy but i dont think we'll be using it on a daily basis. walks in the neighborhood, day trips to the mall, boardwalk etc. price was good too

@daniellemybelle: Good Luck today, can't wait to hear how it goes.

    @Chillybear: Love the reveal photo!

@evansjamie: that's a really cute crib! I'm having a hard time deciding what type we want and the color because that's going to dictate the rest of the room furniture.

@Redmini1: @kjpugs: Thank you! I love it, T loves whatever I love, and he was just glad that it wasn't $500. My first love was the Kendall Crib from Pottery Barn, but neither of us could justify spending that much money when we have so much else we need.

    IT'S A GIRL!!!

I am in total shock. I was completely, absolutely sure it was a boy! It was so amazing to see her though. She looks so great - super active and moving all over the place! She did a somersault for us! I am in love with her.

Well today was an eventful day. Got into a car accident this morning on my way to work. My fault btw. Had to take care of all that and then my OBGYN wanted me to go to our local hospital for an u/s, bloodwork, and a urine sample. Baby checked out great and it is for sure a BOY! Overall, I'm super tired and mentally drained.

Are any of the October moms planning a home birth?
We had a home birth with our first and I see our midwife tonight to begin care (and payments). When I laid out my payment contract today I had a tiny freak out and went into the a momentary desperate, sell-everything-we-don't-need-to make money moment. We didn't feel the expense so much last time because we had a bit more "expendable" money, but with a 10 month old and one on the way our expendable income is minimal.

Personal stories or suggestions to ease the stress? Please!

  38. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

@Protectlove: My first choice would be a home birth, but in KY it's hard. I'm allowed to have my baby at home, but midwives are not allowed to attend home births. I decided to birth in an Indiana hospital with a birth center because I didn't want to risk someone getting arrested and fined for attending my birth.

@ladybee: Jeepers! Take care and get some rest. Glad you're ok.

  40. Protectlove

    cherry / 124 posts

@evansjamie: Oh my gosh! I have never heard of that! I would have a hard time not wanting to fight against that. Its awesome that you have a local hospital with a birth center as an option- that is the such a good alternative!

    Cheers!
