@ladybee: honestly, we really don't care either way. I'd love either one. It's funny; most think we are having a boy because its so different, but my aunt swears we are having another girl. She's never been wrong with any family member she has guessed-she says she sees an aura. She keeps telling that she could be wrong, but I don't think she thinks she is. It will be so fun to find out either way.

My mother told me tonight that she had given up on us having kids before we told her we were pregnant. T is 29, I'm 27, and we are about to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary. I'm kind of upset, and perhaps it's pregnancy hormones, but I'm also hurt. It's like, jeez, sorry we didn't procreate according to your timeline. We were in no position to support a child when we got married (I had just graduated, T was in graduate school, we were surviving on a part time job, student loans, and a stipend), and it took several years for T to feel comfortable with the idea. She of all people knew this, so I am just...blindsided and confused.

Sorry for the vent ladies. I just needed to talk about it.

@evansjamie: that's sad. I would be hurt too. I'm sorry!

@evansjamie: That would hurt my feelings too! You both are totally going to be young parents - what is the rush? In her defense, she probably didn't realize how hurtful her comment would be. I'm sorry.

So I feel like soon we are going to be through all the anatomy scans / gender discoveries! Time is flying! I was looking at our roll call and it seems like @ladybee is the last anatomy scan on the list! Is everyone else Team Green? Where ya at, other ladies?

@evansjamie: 27 seems on the (totally appropriate and normal) younger side to me! I had my first at 29, and most of my friends didn't start having kids till after 30! Sounds like your mom is just super excited to be a grandma and has been looking forward to it and phrased things poorly.

@Jennimac: @daniellemybelle: @Lozza: Thank you ladies :). I realize that I'm probably overemotional (and more than a little tired, we hosted a cookout yesterday), but it was like a big poop on my otherwise okay day. I know she's excited though.

Another 'friend' has been pressuring me about who's throwing my shower. UGH, I haven't been thinking about that, and I don't want to ask anyone.

And since T can't come to our Level II Ultrasound, by BFF Ashley (not the pushy 'friend') said she will go with me! I'm so happy, and very, very glad that I won't have to go alone. I'm really excited to have this experience with her.

Just reconfirmed baby's gender!!!!!!!!! WOOHOOOO! And had a HILARIOUS reveal as well... of baby's feet! B and I told the tech how we felt bad our baby had it bad with either of our feet- my comically large big toe or his nasty hobbit feet with the big space between his 1st and 2nd toes. She laughed and told us we wouldn't be able to tell but then gasped and was like looks like baby has Daddy's feet! She even wrote it on there for us haha! We laughed so hard I was crying and she begged us to bring baby in after so she can see if it was accurate! Damn hobbit feet!

    October is REALLY pink!!!!! (:

@ChefAimee: I was on vacation but I saw your post. I am REALLY small. Like unbelievably small. My weight increases, but the bump, not so much. I am 22 weeks and below is a picture from this weekend. It makes me look like I have more of a bump than most things do. No one knows I am pregnant when they see me in public (:

@KaitlynB: You are JUST THE CUTEST. It looks like you have a long torso- I always hear that makes it take longer to show! I have this issue BUT I carry lots of extra weight in my stomach so it's getting pushed out. At least 1/2 the "bump" you can see on me (which no one has recognized in public yet, even my coworkers didn't know! And I'm 20+ weeks!) is just belly fat. The lower part is more bump. But it has a nice layer of "icing" haha.

@KJPUGS: Thanks! According to the tech and doctor, the baby "smiled". I'm not sure if I believe that, but it's fun to think that! Immediately after "smiling", she covered her mouth.

@mrs. mochi: awww SO CUTE!!!! Our baby was sucking his/her feet at one point. WHO CAN BLAME HIM/HER! HAHAH! Ultrasounds at this point are so fun. Later they get more smooshed up apparently.

@Mrs R.: Congratulations on your boy!

Is everyone feeling kicks? And do you guys mind describing what they feel like? I think I feel them, but it feels more like gas or something shooting thru my stomach. Or nails scratching me from the inside. Not like tickles. And I don't feel them that often. I'll be 21 weeks tomorrow. U/S was last week and all was well. I still check heart beat to make sure things are ok. But these kicks elude me!

  38. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

@corilyns: My kicks felt like being scratched/tickled at first, but now they feel more like pops, and I'm feeling them in different places (like my sides) as my uterus moves up.

  39. kjpugs

    grapefruit / 4862 posts

@corilyns: mine are few (maybe a few weak ones a day, over the past week maybe 4 DEFINITE kicks) but the major ones feel like THUMPS. Like how I'm poking my stomach but if it was done from the inside out. And then sometimes it feels kind of like a gas bubble but in an area that you DONT get gas bubbles! Did they mention an anterior placenta? My elective u/s tech did but my 20 week one at my OB they didn't mention it until I asked. If you have that it may be why you aren't feeling as many. The tech confirmed when I asked her, the thumps I feel have all been either high to the side or LOW, and the areas are outside my placenta. The placenta kicks are more the bubble-feelings... it's like a padded wall to muffle them!

    pomelo / 5073 posts

@corilyns: my kicks are like tons of popping followed by feeling like my stomach is dropping like on a roller coaster.

@kjpugs: DH is working, so I'll see him tmrw. Right now my BFF has felt it and her son's girlfriend. She was one of my former students.

@Mrs R.: congrats on your baby boy!!!

    @evansjamie: so exciting!!
