@evansjamie: Oh Lady! Sorry to hear about this kicking-down-there biz. Glad she's calmed down with it. Mine is getting a bit better too. My kicks still feel like gas, tho. I would however, like my Dr. to explain what the hell is happening tho. I never can tell what's problematic and what isn't.

@Jennimac: So glad to hear that others are experiencing this and I'm not just nuts. Guess I should be happy they are likely kicks!

@corilyns: I've heard you can get some weird sensations due to the increased blood flow. I wonder if that has to do with it?
apricot / 377 posts
@kjpugs: hopefully! my doctor will be back tomorrow. I'll ask her of I'm still having weird pains. This would be so much more fun if I wasn't do worried all the time.

@corilyns I have those too. They usually feel very slit and come and go. I assume its the baby hitting my cervix or increased blood flow but will ask my midwife at my next appt (June 14) and let you know. Keep us posted as well.
On another not so fun topic is anyone getting more cellulite for the weight gain? I'm 22 was and have gained ~15 lbs. I swear half of it is cellulite accumulation on my legs. Sigh.
watermelon / 14467 posts
@Sadieloo: I haven't noticed any cellulite, but that's no guarantee that it's there. If it's on my backside, I'd have no clue. If I can't see it, I don't think about it. I don't know if I'm gaining all over, it mainly seems to be in my torso/chest. My pre-preg pants fit except the belly.
kiwi / 726 posts
@evansjamie I'm jealous! Although I know everyone gains differently and as a pear shape, its just how it is for me. For now, I just need to keep up with the lunges and squats (within reason of course)
watermelon / 14467 posts
@Sadieloo: I'm apple shaped, most of my weight goes straight to my tummy. I probably do have cellulite, especially because my legs are getting flabby from not running. I miss my runner legs. Once this little girl is born and I'm cleared, I'll be rebuilding my base. I can't wait to get back out there!
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@evansjamie: @Sadieloo: I'm probably up 6 lbs? Some of my pants are too tight. No extra cellulite but the tons I have is still there. The area on my upper thighs where my underwear hits seems to be flabbier, that's the main change I notice besides my growing belly.
watermelon / 14467 posts
@kjpugs: I'm up about 10-15 right now, but the legs of all my pants were slightly loose before (I always go up a size in jeans because my thighs never fit in my waist size). Here's a comparison: 5 weeks vs. 22 weeks.
apricot / 377 posts
@Sadieloo: Please keep me posted and I'll do the same. Miraculously, once I talked to you guys about it, the pain has subsided.
And on cellulite, I've put on about 6-8 pounds and tried on a large wrap dress in my closet today that makes me look like a whale. It's all maternity all the way from now on. Regular cuts just don't work anymore. And my legs are looking a bit flabbier but not as much as I anticipated or expect they will look at 32 weeks!

@evansjamie: You look SO cute!
I haven't noticed increased cellulite, but I think it may be literally impossible to have more than I already do!
What I have noticed is stretch marks. I am prone to them and already had a few on my stomach and love handles. Yesterday I noticed the ones on my belly are a lot bigger. I know there's nothing you can REALLY do about them, but if any of you are using particular products, let me know! I think I might just get some old fashioned cocoa butter.
watermelon / 14467 posts
@daniellemybelle: I haven't noticed any new ones, but my skin is definitely drier and my linea nigra is out in full force. I've been using Burt's Bee's Mama Bee body butter, and it really helps with the dryness.

@evansjamie: i love that stuff! I also really like body shop's body butter
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@Chillybear: @evansjamie: I have noticed MAYBE a few new stretch marks (but they're white, I rarely have the pink or darker ones) and no linea negra. But I do notice the dryness! I HAVE to get better about lotioning!

Anyone else notice your belly is lopsided? Baby seems to be on my left more I guess? I feel kicks pretty much only in the center or on the left, and when I look at my belly from above it always looks lopsided like it's a little fuller on the left, like my belly button SLIGHTLY points to the right.
And as I type that I get kicked low and a little to the right. So sorry to insult your side preference, baby. HAHA!

@kjpugs: OMG you are awesome. What are you growing? I do NOT have a green thumb but living with my parents this year I hope to learn from my mom!
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@daniellemybelle: along the left are sweet potatoes, along the back is mini eggplant and jalapenos, along the front is a tomato plant and carrots, the right side is all dill, and in the middle are zucchini and brussels sprouts!

@kjpugs: My belly seems to be pointing right slightly. She was breech on Friday, with her head shoved up under my ribs. Your garden and belly look so good! Now I'm hungry for some veggies.

@daniellemybelle: ugh I wish my husband cooked for me! Last month he made pesto and risotto using some herbs he has growing in another area (parsley pesto and the risotto had lemon basil from our garden) but it's RARE. Welcome to being married to a chef!
@evansjamie: thanks

@Jennimac: AHHHH! Welcome to Team Pink!
I am 100% convinced that the month we conceived must have influenced our babies' genders, because there are so many girls around here!

It's started. Somebody asked me how my twins were doing in there. And then another lady told me how uncomfortable I'll be this summer.
I'm working to be gracious about comments, but it was a blow to my self-esteem.
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@evansjamie: no one has mentioned/noticed mine yet! I'm not sure which is worse! (Yours. You win. I'm sorry!!! My BFF is going through that and I send bad karma to those people for her lol)
apricot / 377 posts
@evansjamie: I seriously can't believe someone asked you about twins. I saw your picture and you don't even look close to twins material. So pick up that self-esteem. I'm hormonal today and am reeling over the way people speak to one another. Animals! PS - Benefit of the doubt - Maybe the lady who commented on how hot you'll be was remembering her pregnancy? But whoever uttered twins is just plain stupid.
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@corilyns: @evansjamie: one of DH's friend's wives had twins (had to be induced she went so long!) and her 2nd pregnancy was just one baby. She carries like a basketball either way so people kept asking her if she was sure it wasn't twins. I remember she said she wanted to carry around her last picture of her pregnant with twins to show them. People are SO ridiculous!
watermelon / 14467 posts
@kjpugs: @corilyns: You ladies are awesome. I really think most people don't know how pregnant bodies look. I just want to tell them, "Yes, I'm carrying around an extra 15 pounds or so, yes, most of it is in my belly, and yes, I know exactly how hot Kentucky gets in the summertime. My midwife is not concerned, and you shouldn't be either."
People should be nice and only say, "Oh, you look great! Pregnancy is awesome, isn't it?" So far most people have been nice, and some members have gone out of their way to ask how I'm doing and stuff. These two people just stuck in my craw because it's a stressful day overall.
cantaloupe / 6669 posts
@evansjamie: Ugh, that's a horrible comment, but I'm with @kjpugs. No one has noticed I'm pregnant because I still look just fat.
Speaking of fat, I went for my regular midwife check-up. I've gained 9 lbs in the past 5 weeks. Womp womp. I got a gentle scolding - she was trying to be very nice but advised me to eat healthier and exercise more. She recommended the GD diet so now I am worried I have GD!
But the important thing is I heard our little girl's heartbeat. She sounds great and is healthy and that's what matters!
