    Anyone else having INSANE dreams? I have the most realistic/crazy dreams now.

    Also- what would you guys drink at Starbucks to not tip off a friend? Are chai tea lattes ok? I usually get peppermint lattes and that's not going to fly now.

    @KJfromNJ: Maybe you could get a peppermint hot chocolate? I'm probably no help since I don't drink coffee.

    My dreams have been pretty intense, but I don't remember much, just the intensity.

    @KJfromNJ: Chai tea lattes do contain some caffeine. I've read that some chai tea beverages contain anise, which can lead to complications during pregnancy if too much is consumed. I think the complications are most common in high-risk pregnancies, but I'm not certain.

    I've been having strange dreams about my pregnancy and very intense, emotional dreams.

    @KJfromNJ: If I'm correct, hot chocolate has caffeine in it but I'm not 100%... that's the reason you're trying to find a new drink, right? Maybe their delicious apple cider or iced teas?!

    @KJfromNJ: I just kept my caffeine intake generally under 200 mg/day, which is the lowest threshold that any studies have found to have an association with any issues (I actually think most studies don't see an association till closer to 300mg). A grande peppermint mocha has 175 mg of caffeine; a tall only has 95 mg. (In comparison, a grande hot chocolate has 25 mg).
    (This caffeine info is all from the Starbucks website)
    I'd have a cup of coffee (often a tall latte) once a day during my first pregnancy (if it seemed appealing), and I'll probably do the same during this one. I'm drinking my morning coffee right now, actually!
    Starbucks also has decaf espresso, so if you'll miss the taste of your latte, that's an option too!
    (Also, I'd never assume a pregnancy from a change in someone's coffee habit- are you sure your friend would be looking so closely at what you're ordering at Starbucks?)

    @Lozza: LOL I'm probably being too crazy for my own good. I always order the same type of thing so I think any change will be weird... maybe a small green tea frap!! It is Florida here so it'll be hot. I know some people who are preg and do half-caff or limit to one cup of coffee so it's good to know a # limit since I haven't had my appt yet. I think like 50mg from the green tea won't hurt

    Oops, it looks like my due date is October 15, not October 22!

    @KJfromNJ: I am having the weirdest dreams. So vivid! You can have a tea. I love the passionfruit. It has a lot less caffeine than coffee. If you want to go even lower I'd do the hot chocolate too.

    Due date: Oct 10

    Months it took to conceive: 3

    DPO you found out: Made myself wait until 17 DPO before I tested. I was pretty sure at 15 DPO and my husband wanted me to wait until 21 DPO, but I was losing my mind not knowing, so I drove to the grocery store on Superbowl Sunday. What a madhouse! I'd never bought a test before, was feeling completely hormonal, and wanted to strangle the two teenage store employees hovering over me as I tried to figure out which one to get. When I took the test an hour later, there was no mistaking the two solid lines.

    Symptoms: Missed (always regular) period, exhaustion, painful breasts, so bloated that I'm dreaming of maternity pants already (5w6d), aching hips/legs, sore ab muscles (anyone else?)

    Child #: This will be our first.

    Most excited for: A healthy, happy baby

    Most scared about: Right now? Morning sickness!

    @KaitlynB: So that's normal? That's good to know. I've been pretty embarrassed about those kind of dreams.

    @Plato: Congratulations!!

    I have also been having achy hips and legs and my abs feel like I've been doing crunches all day. I've heard eating bananas can help with aches because of the potassium.

    @KaitlynB: yes this happened the first time for me too! It also happened the other night. Woke up and then jumped DH.

    I haven't experienced any weird dreams or extra stuff... I have though become a deep sleeper when usually I'm a very light sleeper... Now I don't ever notice when DH comes to bed.

    How fun! This is my first web announcement, if you will, our friends and family don't even know yet.

    Due Date: Unofficial- October 1st. I will get the official date early next week. My OB takes a week from the first ultrasound date to provide it.

    Months It Took to Conceive: We were not trying...we have a 6 month old.

    DPO You Found Out You Were Preggo On: Who knows... I had my first period since my daughter was born on Dec. 15th but I know I wasn't on a regular cycle. My positive home test was on Jan. 28th.

    Symptoms That Made You Think You Were Pregnant: None!

    Child Number: 2

    What You're Most Excited For: The possibility of a boy...telling our family and friends...

    What You're Most Scared About: Telling my Director. I got some backlash after my maternity leave with my first.

    Cheers to all the Mamas!

    Thank you! I love hearing that!
    I am so torn- I would love her to have a sister to share life with- but I would love to have the experience of my little boy. We have a while to go before we know but I am thrilled with both possibilities!

    Since my good jeans were in the wash, I had to wear my yard jeans, a pair of Levi's that art junior size 9 and pre-preg fit pretty well. And I could barely zip them today. Totally rocked a rubber band to hold them together. At 7 weeks, I've gained 3 pounds (I can't say no to dessert). At this rate, baby is going to come out as a cupcake with a goldfish cracker on top.

    Just wanted to update you ladies. We went to the doctor today and were able to hear the heartbeat during the ultrasound! We couldn't see much else on the ultrasound though. Baby still looks like a blob! I feel really relieved though. Things are starting to feel a bit more real.

    @evansjamie: Same here... about three pounds and i was so uncomfortable yesterday wearing a higher waisted pair of jeans, i was literally counting the minutes until i could go home and put on yoga pants

    @Mrs. Monkey: Great news! So exciting!

    @Protectlove: Welcome and congrats!

    Have you guys been following all the soon to be possible October DD's on the Feb POAS boards? Looks like were gonna get some new members this week

  33. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

    @Chillybear: I've been following the board too. So exciting! And I'm also glad I'm not the only one rocking the rubber band this early in the game. Pretty soon I'm going to be rocking the nursing bra since only two of mine fit and I'm pretty sure they're not going to last much longer.

    @evansjamie: oh i've been wearing sportsbras all week

    @Chillybear: @evansjamie: I work from home so I wear sports bras and yoga pants ALL THE TIME.... this is not going to be good!!!!! I'm scared to get on the scale

    @KJfromNJ: I would absolutely LOVE if we even got casual Friday's at work. I work for a historical society and our dress code is business/business casual, which means that I've got a black dress, cardi, tights, and flats on today when I would love to be in my skinny jeans and a sweater. The plus is that this dress is a little bit big, so there isn't any belly constriction.

    OK so this is the baby bump picture inspiration I decided on:

    http://www.onelittleminuteblog.com/projectbaby/

    And I just bought all the supplies (using a white short sleeve tee, black #'s, and green for the cross-outs) and will put it together this weekend! Not starting pictures until after my appt Tuesday when I get confirmation on due date. I can't wait!

    I wanted to do something fun/creative since I have a blog and will be posting the weekly pics on there. Can't wait til I'm 12 weeks and can "reveal" my identity on here too, although I think a few of you know

    Anyone else doing something creative?

    @Mrs. Monkey: YAY!!!

    I too went in today for a "viability scan". I've never heard them call it that until we got there today. My husband said that's a morbid name for the appointment...

    I was so scared and watching the doctor's face the whole time he was looking for the baby...and then we saw the heartbeat! He said he thinks I'm just under 7 weeks (we thought I was 8 today), so he is bringing me back for another ultrasound in two weeks to try and get a better due date. Such a blessing!!! I'm a worry wart.

    Then my big ultrasound is two weeks after that. We are telling our families this weekend (:
