@Jennimac: I understand. Don't worry about it this weekend. Eat fabulous food and baked goods for me.

@kjpugs: We did end up getting them in kiwi. I have the car seat now and am getting the stroller this weekend. Honestly, I LOVE the car seat! We bought ours from Bed, Bath, and Beyond but they are out of stock too. I'd try calling BBB and seeing if they are waiting on a shipment to come in? I'm sure they'll get more, it's just a matter of when!

@ladybee: wait typo or literally bed bath beyond? And did they have it in store? So glad you love it!
grapefruit / 4079 posts
@kjpugs: We don't have BBB here and they are owned by Bed, Bath, and Beyond so we could take a 20% off coupon from Bed, Bath and Beyond and use it towards ordering the car seat. Plus they gave us free shipping so total it was $155 after tax. They did not have it in store though.

@kjpugs: What convertible car seat did you guys get? I'm having a hard time deciding!
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@ladybee: we went with the Britax Boulevard 70-G3! And thanks I will check with my bed bath beyond!
grapefruit / 4079 posts
@kjpugs: If your bed, bath, and beyond isn't helpful I'd try calling BBB directly. I'm sure they have more information when it'll be available again.

Sharing the happiness- just found a JJ Cole coupon online for 30% off! (MYPALS30) Got the diaper bag I wanted for less than $50 before shipping! AND, I just found a $50 gift card from my birthday 4/2 that I didn't realize I had. Today is a good day! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
grapefruit / 4079 posts
@kjpugs: is that for 30% off JJ Cole's website? What a deal! Any luck with BBB? We put our stroller together today and I have to admit, I love it!
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@ladybee: yep! 30% off the website. And BBB responded to me that it's back ordered 6-8 weeks. Ugh! Should find out if FIL ordered the stroller tomorrow so I know if we have to find someplace else or exchange it

29w6d today and I had my first real thought of, "I'm over this." I'm starting to feel really uncomfortable - just very aware of how a whole other person in your body hinders you! If I have 10+ weeks to go... This is going to be interesting!
watermelon / 14467 posts
@daniellemybelle: Yep, I started to feel that way a little bit then. Now I can actually feel little feet and elbows and the rolling is a bit more uncomfortable because we're running out of space.
And seriously, if anyone else tells me I'm about to pop, I'm going to go bats*** crazy on them. It's getting old.

@daniellemybelle: i feel like i pulled my groin on my left side and my hips and lower back are killing me. Things that would have taken me minimal time and effort are now exhausting and taking forever.
Hubs and I had a productive weekend. Spackling is almost done in the basement, which means we should be able to paint by next weekend. We ordered the carpet installation through lowes and started packing the office. We did a major trip to Ikea and got some of the baby furniture. Yesterday I put together a dresser and started painting it. No one will tell me when my shower is, I'm really hoping someone will slip but things are starting to be purchased off our registries which is so exciting!
watermelon / 14467 posts
@Chillybear: Yay for the productive weekend! I wasn't super productive, I put a coat of sealer on the dresser, but I still have two coats to go (and three on the drawers; I wasn't going to do it, but then the paint chipped). I did some cooking for the week, but I'm definitely having to take more breaks and my back hurts more at night when I'm super busy.
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@daniellemybelle: @Chillybear: @evansjamie: I so agree... bending over makes me go "OOOOOOOOF" every time and vacuuming/sweeping (one of my weekly chores) takes FOREVER because I keep having to take breaks!
We got all our furniture and I bought a lot of "necessity" items from our registry, so when we figure out the whole stroller situation I'll feel pretty much great. Also set up the PNP in our room (only cried once while doing it) which made me feel good!

Well, I got the call and I have to take the 3 hour test. My fasting was 84 and my 1 hour blood sugar was 158. I don't go in until 9 am tomorrow morning. Now I'm just really ticked off.
watermelon / 14467 posts
@kjpugs: Yeah, I had to take breaks cleaning the tub. The baby definitely got in the way, but the tub was seriously skanky so I tried something from Pinterest and it actually worked. I think it was worth a bit of backache.
Has anyone else had any Braxton-Hicks contractions? I think I'm starting to have them. I feel a weird tightening sometimes, but it's only in the bottom of my uterus.
pomegranate / 3032 posts
@evansjamie: yeah i starting feeling them last week... theyre not painful but they definitely feel weird

@Jennimac: Oh, I'm so sorry! I hope you don't have GD, but if you do, I'll be here to commiserate with you. That being said, I do feel better now that I'm on the diet. I od'd on carbs at Cracker Barrel this weekend (a combo of my love of breakfast and waiting too long to eat) and I felt so sleepy and gross for the rest of the afternoon.

@Chillybear: I felt the first one and my first thought was "Holy Crap, this means it's getting close!"

Feeling very productive, we finally put paint up, drawers put together and the crib and carseat are on there way. I think being in the single digit week countdown really helped spur us on to get stuff done.
@Evansjamie: What did you use to clean your tubs? We have two that hardly get any use (no idea how they got so dirty) but I need to get them cleaned up because we have house guests coming in the next few weeks.
@Jennimac: Bummer, I hope your 3-hour test goes better.
watermelon / 14467 posts
@Redmini1: I used 1/2 cup blue Dawn soap, 1/2 cup hot vinegar mixed in a spray bottle. You spray it on, let it sit for an hour, and then scrub it off. I used my scrub brush and grout brush, but I bet a sponge would work just as well, you just need to rinse it. My tub has NEVER looked this good. I'm pretty sure the previous owners just never cleaned it.
ETA: It stinks and is kind of strong smelling, so maybe wear a mask if smells are bothering you. I left my exhaust fan on the whole time.
pomelo / 5073 posts
@evansjamie: This is what I use all the time. I usually just spray it on during the day and when I get in to take a shower, I scrub it off. It's the only thing that works on our shower because DH uses an entire bar of soap when he takes a shower. Not really, but almost.
watermelon / 14467 posts
@Jennimac: I couldn't believe it worked! The soap scum was SO THICK, my previous method was to take a long shower and then go after some of it with a plastic putty knife. That got old quick. Now I feel better about putting a baby in my bathtub.
cherry / 163 posts
@Evansjamie: @Jennimac: Awesome tip, all stuff I have at our house anyway. I'll be trying that this weekend!

Do all of you have a rocker/glider for the nursery?
This past weekend, we set up the nursery with crib, dresser and daybed and there is surprisingly quite a bit of room left over - enough for a chair. I'm looking for one that has a small footprint, looks modern and can work in a different room later. I was thinking of the Babyletto Madison Swivel Glider. I've read that it is small but the only downside is that it has a low-back. Thoughts?
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@mrs. mochi: I got one but I just purchased it used off of a local moms facebook group for $50. I went lower profile too! GL finding one!
watermelon / 14467 posts
@mrs. mochi: I have a glider. It's a hand-me-down from my SIL; she gave it to us when we got married. I made a new cushion and new covers for it, but it's your basic wooden Walmart glider. Very compact.

My appointment went well today! Baby Girl is still head down, and I definitely felt her roll from the left to the right on Saturday. Her sweet little back is on my right side and I'm feeling kicks on the left, and also in my ribs. I've lost six pounds since my GD diagnosis, so the diet is working and my sugars are under control for the most part (I have a high one here and there).
On an unrelated note, I had my appointment, stopped at Hardee's, and still beat most of my co-workers to work this morning.

@mrs. mochi: I didn't get one last time but will get one this time. I would be worried about the low back on that one, especially if you're planning on nursing in the chair. You'll want something that is supportive for long periods of time!

@MRS. YOYO: Yes, that is a slight concern of mine. I am on the short side - 5'2" right away in the morning and probably 5'1.75" thanks to gravity during the day

Updating the list with my next appointment.
Also, after some thought, I decided to remove our two "thoughts & prayers" ladies. One has deleted her profile & the other looks like she is on a new pregnancy journey (yay!). We should definitely continue to think of and pray for them! But I don't want it to be a lingering reminder for them if they have moved on. If any disagree with this, please let me know!
