    @Jennimac: Good luck!

    @evansjamie: Glad you had a good check-up! And Hardee's

    We finally have a doula! We love her. Glad we took the time to interview so many.

    Now I am freaking out about getting a pediatrician... and getting the nursery together! We have done literally NOTHING for the nursery and we have no furniture. I think nesting has kicked in but it doesn't feel very fun - it feels like anxiety. All I want to do is take a week off work and organize non-stop. Okay, I would stop for a lot of naps and snacks.

    @daniellemybelle: I'm so glad you found a doula! And I'm with you on finding a pediatrician! It's really getting down to the wire it seems.

    @daniellemybelle: SAME!! Our nursery is still our office/dogs room. Our furniture is missing in action and every day more random packages show up and I am starting to freak. I'm off work for 2 more weeks and anxiety has hit. In June I thought I'd have the nursery all set up by now. ha!

    ETA: lack of furniture and place to set up means more snacking and napping.

    @kjpugs: 6-8 weeks!? If I were you I'd get the kiwi stroller and wait on the car seat. If needed, you could go to BRU and buy it in black. I'd hope that they are over estimating the time frame by a lot.

    Hey everyone! How are you doing/feeling? I don't think I've been on HB for almost a week because we finally closed on our house! We have a lot of work to do (painting, cleaning, packing and organizing) and baby boy is due in only 2 months. Yikes! Thankfully, my energy is still pretty good and DH has been a rockstar. I am super eager though to get the nursery put together!

    Hey you guys, It's the former Corilyns. Now, MrsMed cuz my former user name was too close to everything I use professionally.
    Anyway --I've been out for over a week on vacation. I hope everyone is doing well and happy about the home stretch. Don't know about you, but this time has not swept by. I can't wait for the next 9 weeks to be over.
    Just wanna say -- don't panic. You'll find pediatricians. I stumbled on mine at a Mom-to-be dinner, which is a good place to search for recommendations.
    I'm still behind on my doula search, which is also pressing and I have NO idea where to begin looking for daycares or nanny shares. Take out a want ad? I should've been on a daycare wait list months ago. And my husband still hasn't cleaned his junk out of his "study" which is due to become our little bundle's headquarters. This is my long-winded way of saying, don't worry, you'll get 'er done!
    You know part of it was my worry that this wasn't actually going to happen. And now that the time is almost here, I'm so excited. We're actually going to have real-live babies, Ladies! I tear up everytime I look at the onesies I finally allowed myself to buy. Woo hoo!

    @sadieloo -- congrats on surviving the move!

    @Sadieloo: Woohoo for moving! As for me, I am just mentally and physically drained at the end of the day. I took a nap last night after work. Today I had to muster up the energy to grout some tile, but hat's done and I feel better now.

    @MrsMed: I've been sitting on paperwork for a daycare. I just don't know what to put since she isn't here yet. I can't wait until next week, I'm going to have my husband do it at the place with the owner so we know exactly what to do to hold our spot.

    @evansjamie: it's totally bada$$ that you are 30-plus weeks and doing grout work! Go Lady!

    watermelon / 14467 posts

    @MrsMed: Thank you! Unfortunately, today I can't use the shower, which is sad because I woke up drenched in sweat last night. Sink bath for the win!

    It wasn't much work (thank goodness for premixed grout and YHL's tutorials), but it wiped me out. We had two sections of missing grout and I have no idea how long they've been there. The tile is sound so I hope this band-aid holds up until we can redo the shower surround sometime after I have this baby.

    @MrsMed: @evansjamie: thanks! And I am very with you @evansjamie. Aso very impressed with your grout work. Painting is pretty much where my 'skill' (if you call it that) begins and ends. My body is certainly feeling the moving and painting -- and I am def taking things slow and easy. Fortunately my desire to nest and be done is really pushing me through.

    Hey ladies,
    It sounds like everyone has just about hit the nesting stage. I feel like i'm going crazy on my end. Hubs and his brother are finishing the spackle and sanding in the basement so we should be painting this weekend. Carpet guy is installing next thursday once that is done we can move everything downstairs from what will soon be the babies room. Since i cant do much in the basement i've been keeping myself busy with packing the office and doing little DIY projects. We went to Ikea over the weekend and picked up some little things and the dresser. I'll post some pics in a few.

    We met with a pediatrician that my SIL recommended last night and decided that they were a great fit. Close to home, 7 doctors, great hours. I also mailed my pre-admission paper work in this morning.

    Also in the works is planning Baby's baptism. My husband went through the RCIA program this past year @Jennimac: I think you gave me some great advice when we were doing the research for it. So We called the Deacon that my husband worked with each week and he's going to do the Baptism on 12/1 and we have our Pre-Jordan class next tuesday.

    Here are some of the projects I've been keeping myself busy with. A stool to keep under my desk, a lovey blanket, the window valances, felt mobile, ombré dresser, and framed prints from etsy

    @Sadieloo: Yes, the nesting urge is really the only thing helping me to push through as well.

    @Chillybear: Your nursery is going to be amazing! I love all your projects! I can't wait to be done with my dresser, but I can only put the sealant on in the mornings when it's cooler and that only happens on the weekends. Hopefully I'll be done on Sunday and it can cure for a week.

    @Sadieloo: @evansjamie: Thank you!

    @daniellemybelle: Thanks! but, please dont be so hard on yourself. I like crafting and its mostly been the last month plus of weekends when i'm upstairs by myself and my husband is in the basement putting up drywall or spackling and I'm feeling useless, because i'm not allowed to help

  19. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

    @daniellemybelle: Nope, not a fail.

    Girls, someone stole some of my food at the office. I reported it to HR, and now an email has gone out about kitchen etiquette. It's not a huge deal for me to go to the store and buy more tomatoes or anything, but when someone goes into my clearly marked container and takes 1, maybe 2 (I honestly can't remember if I brought 3 or 4 tomatoes for my salads on Monday), it made me see red. Especially because I'm on a special diet and the food was fresh and clearly marked. That's half my lunch for the rest of the week, just gone. We've had issues with it in the past, but I can't believe it keeps happening.

    I checked on them this morning when I got my snack to make sure they weren't molded, and there were two tomatoes in my Tupperware container. When I went back for lunch, there was only one.

    Now I feel like the crazy pregnant lady, but I had to stop myself from crying out of frustration. And I don't want to go to the kitchen for ice because a bunch of people are down there eating.

  20. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

    @daniellemybelle: I get a lot of crafting done because I'm by myself right now. When my husband gets home (NEXT WEEK!!!), my crafting will slow down because there will be other stuff to do with him that I can't do right now, like purchase/hang blinds and move furniture.

  21. Sadieloo

    kiwi / 726 posts

    @evansjamie: All I'm going to say is -- who steals food from a pregnant woman?!? That is messed up!

  22. daniellemybelle

    cantaloupe / 6669 posts

    @evansjamie: I have never understood how people outright steal labeled food out of containers. What is the thought process!? I'm so sorry. I have become insanely obsessed with food lately so I would probably cry, too!

  23. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

    @Sadieloo: @daniellemybelle: The guilty party confessed and promised to bring me more tomatoes tomorrow. He thought they were for everyone and were just stored in my container since someone else used to do that.

    I guess he'll think twice next time.

    Sidenote: Is anyone else STARVING? I cannot eat enough, which is difficult on my diet, but pretty much I've been trying to stay away from the calorie counting and just eat nutritious foods. And my snack at night is a crapshoot because I don't have to worry about testing my glucose 2 hours after I eat it.

  24. Sadieloo

    kiwi / 726 posts

    @evansjamie: That's such a BS answer! I am impressed that he confessed. I hope he brings you at least one extra tomato!

  25. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

    @Sadieloo: Me too, but I told him not to worry about it. It's the principle of the matter. I've left granola, bagels, and other things on the counter with my name on it and nobody has touched them. So why is it okay to take tomatoes that are clearly marked? Usually if food is for the taking we put a little sign next to it. Ugh. Men.

    ETA: He's my office mate, meaning that he heard me complain and felt really bad about it. I'm glad he confessed and I hope he feels guilty about it, especially because he knows that I have GD (I made sure he was okay with me testing my blood sugar at my desk).

    Well, I finally got my results. First they told me I failed two out of three. Then, I told them I wanted the doctor to call me back. All. He looked at the results, nurse called me back and said I passed all of them. My office has some way different levels than y'all's, but all of my numbers were below so I don't have GD! Now, I will watch what I'm eating and make some different choices, but overall, I feel pretty good. I will definitely be talking to my doctor about it all on Monday.

    Hi ladies! Hope you are all doing well and seem so busy from the looks of the posts! I've been really crazy busy at work and planning my parents 40th anniversary party this weekend.
    @chillybear: I LOVE your nursery!! So cute! I'm still deciding between elephants or giraffes and then going to attempt to make a crib ruffle.

    @evansjamie: Totally know the frustration/could cry at any minute...I have so much on my plate at work I almost walked out crying yesterday...and no one even took my food. That would have put me over the top!

    We are now into the counting kicks each night and I just started filling out my pre-admission papers...what is with the c-section elect? Do I fill it out just in case??

    Anyone else working around Jewish tradition with not buying anything before baby?

    @Jennimac: I'm glad you passed!

    @eisrael: They haven't mentioned anything to me about kick counts. I count them when I haven't felt her in awhile though. I'm not working around the Jewish traditions. It seems neat though.

    Hi October Mamas! I am so terrible about checking in here. I hope you're all doing well! I had my 28 week appointment this morning. After some lab errors and having to take the 3 hour glucose test twice, I found out that I don't have GD! I am SOOOO relieved! I'm so grateful that this pregnancy hasn't had any complications but I've really been struggling emotionally. I'm having a hard time being so far away from any family or friends. Anyway, not having GD was a big boost for me! I also had to get my rhogam shot today. I forgot all about it and couldn't believe it was already that late in the game!

    @evansjamie: I'm starving too! DH thinks it's hilarious. =/

    @Chillybear: I love the mobile!!

    Furniture drama today! We ordered our furniture June 29th. We were told they had it in stock. Then it was they had the dresser in stock but needed to order the crib. Ok, no biggie. Crib should be in the week of July 15th. Then I call the week after and they tell me the crib is back ordered 3 weeks. It'll be in mid-August. I call today and it is back ordered till the end of OCTOBER. Cue freak out! DH and I went up there tonight and looked at all our options. They are ordering our dresser and a curved back crib Monday. We ordered a flat back crib. When our crib comes in, they will come out and switch out the cribs. Ugh. Major tears.

    @chillybear: I am so envious of your skills! Your nursery looks amazing!

    @evansjamie: I asked about kick counts at my 28 week appt. and my doctor said they'd only drive me crazy.

    @evansjamie: how odd (or stupid) that he stole your food knowing about your GD and having labeled your food. maybe what you need to do is what I did as a kid with two brothers who ate everything -- lick all your food and make sure he sees it. He'll definitely think twice

    Who steals food period? I mean, that's just nuts. Who actually goes in and takes tomatoes out of someone's lunch? That's creepy. @evansjamie: I'm so sorry about this. Co-workers, man. (shakes head incredulously) Co-workers. Unbelievable. I think you're totally entitled to go BatSh*& crazy on whoever it is if you catch 'em.

    And congrats @Sweet T and @jennimac on passing your tests!

    @MrsMed: Thank you! I think it's a load of crap answer (he confessed yesterday and brought me some tomatoes from his garden), and then today he sent out a mass email to the whole staff and I am MORTIFIED. Here's what it said:

    "RARE FRUIT PLUCKED FROM THE CLUTCHES OF AN EXPECTING MOTHER

    Let it be known that Tomato Thievery WILL NOT be taken lightly at [company]!!!

    Alas, we can all breath a sigh of relief... The missing fruit mystery has been solved and the Heirloom Bandit has been caught red handed or should I say, red faced.

    I confess, I was the poor sod who mis-took the placing of the tomatoes on the counter in the exact place where so many offerings (pies, brownies, gifts from the garden...) have been placed before, as an item of offering to the masses.

    Rest assured good people of [COMPANY] that the mistaken tomatoes have been replaced with superior specimens of fruit of my own labor!

    I apologize profusely for the panic caused in the questioning of the security of your food products

    But I don't know nothing 'bout no missing non-dairy creamer, cheese sticks, turkey legs or other."
