@evansjamie: Glad to hear baby girl is doing great. I hope you feel better soon too. 4 hours of sleep is definitely not enough. I don't know how you are staying awake.

    @mrs. mochi: love the nursery!

@evansjamie: feel better mama!!! So sorry you're feeling sick and not getting sleep. I struggled with sleep last night due to heartburn. When DH came to bed at 3 he took advantage and was a chatty cathy for an hour too. Sleep is my favorite and I miss her!

@mrs. mochi: holy amazing nursery!!! Can you come do mine please? DH was supposed to get a bunch done today and got called in I'm so impressed with yours!

Hi ladies! I'm happy to see that all of your babies are behaving themselves! I'm still pregnant and there have been no significant changes. Baby looks great! Mama is irritable. I'm trying to stay occupied but it seems impossible.

@kjpugs: I was started in penicillin when I first got to the hospital but was switched to ampicillin once I was transferred. They also considered another antibiotic too. I'm not allergic to anything but they at least had options.

@Sweet T: I wish I could go entertain you!!!!!!!!!!! I hate that you're probably bored stiff, but I'm glad you're doing well, baby health wise, for the situation.

Anyone else getting "lightning crotch?" OMG. The stupid gine kicks are DRIVING. ME. CRAZY. Or probably punches, since she's head down.

@mrs. mochi: @Sadieloo: @kjpugs: Thank you! I came home and took a two hour nap. I could honestly take another one too but I want to sleep tonight. My midwife told me I could take Tylenol PM to help me sleep, so I am all for that. I've got three weeks of work left and can't really afford to miss any more days.

@Sweet T: I wish I lived close! I would come entertain you too. I'm so glad that everything is okay so far!

@kjpugs: Vag punches are THE WORST. I went to a yard sale on Saturday and someone decided it would be fun to punch my cervix repeatedly. My husband was so cute making sure I wasn't having contractions or going into labor. PS I'm keeping your packing list open in my iPad because its better and more realistic than anything else I've seen on popular sites.

@evansjamie: yay for tylenol PM and naps!

@Sweet T: really happy to hear that your baby is doing well and staying put! Fingers crossed that these next few weeks go by quickly for you.

@kjpugs: I may have missed it, but would you mind sending me your hospital packing list? I think I could probably figure one out myself, but I am done thinking these days. I've had a few kicks and punches, but the worst is actually at night when I am trying to turn sides. I feel an extreme heaviness and pressure in my pelvic region and when I get up to use the bathroom its like a bowling ball wedged itself between my legs. It made no sense to me but my midwife said was normal.

Also had to share because it's just too cute and I am obsessed with my pooch. She made a new neighborhood friend and I didn't even have to pose this pic!

@Sadieloo: Awwww how cute! My pooch has been making friends, but not today. Today, she just puked. Vomit is the one bodily substance that I just cannot handle.

@evansjamie: Funny that you mention that. This pic was from yesterday. Sadie also puked this morning which also grosses me out. On the plus side she has been very cuddly and less whiny.

So, this just came in the mail today. Now I feel bad about being ragey yesterday. My MIL had it overnighted yesterday! Now all I need is the stand and a few more sheets and little miss will be set!

We had our 34 week check up. Baby is still breech and dr said we have about a 40% chance of her turning. I'm really not upset about it because everything had been so different with the pregnancy from our first. I even commented to my mom that I thought I would have a different labor experience. Well, this would definitely be it.

I called and I think we have our pediatrician. I haven't long term sub and all I need to get now is someone to watch the baby when I go back to work.

Question about insurance. Is the baby covered on mine for te first 30 days? I think we are going to put her on dh's insurance, but he has to find out what to do at work. I need to get our preregistration forms into the hospital, so that's something that needs to be filled out on there. I've contacted my insurance, but they haven't gotten back with me.

It's so crazy to me that I can say "less than 6 weeks" when people ask me how long until she comes. Ack!

@Jennimac: that's a good question! I need my husband to look into this (I'm on his insurance). I'm glad you had a good appointment. Hopefully the baby turns if that's what you want!

  15. Sadieloo

    kiwi / 726 posts

@Jennimac: No idea on the insurance. If you want your baby to change positions, you may want to check out Spinning Babies to get the baby in optimal position or birth. I don't know anyone who has used it, but it may be worth a try. http://spinningbabies.com/

@Sadieloo: yeah, part of me is freaked about about the cord being around the neck and stuff like that. I told DH that its in God's hands and if she is meant to turn, she will do it on her own without any intervention from me. I'm worried that my torso is so short she will get stuck or something. My dr also feels like sometimes it's meant to be this way because maybe the baby can't come down my pelvis or something like that. Honestly, I've had the delivery experience and it was sad, so something different is okay in my book.

@Sadieloo: aww, thank you! Chiro today... hoping to get some relief. I cannot even believe how bad the pain has gotten but it's nice to know I am lookin' good hahaha!

@kjpugs: I hope the chiro can work some magic for you!

  23. kjpugs

    grapefruit / 4862 posts

@evansjamie: Chiro is sure I am going to go early (I guess it's more of a half and half - the ONLY reasons I'm sad if that happens are because that's less time to hoard money haha, before we start hemmorhaging it, and because my mom isn't visiting til 10/26.) She could tell I dropped (wow, explains the pain right?) and that she's head down (which I know she is.) She asked if I was 37 weeks and I said no 35, and she almost seemed a little concerned. Obviously she's not my OB and that's who I go to for medical advice, but I do trust her a LOT. So we'll see I guess! I will allow her to come 10/2 if she REALLY wants because it's 2 weeks early- not horrible- and my half birthday, haha!

@jennimac: Typically the baby is covered under the mom's insurance for the first 30 days of life. And as far as being breech, don't worry about it. My LO never changed position and it's no big deal, just a c-section. There was no way with my tiny torso that he was going to turn (and I tried spinningbabies and an ECV). The best part is knowing exactly when your baby will be born!

@kjpugs: I feel the same way. I really, really want to make it to 40+1 weeks so I get a longer maternity leave (2 extra weeks which is Christmas break). However, I realize that probably won't happen. We are bleeding money at this point and just went back on a budget but it's sooo hard because we are running out of time to get things ready.

  26. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

@kjpugs: October 3 is also a great day (that's my birthday, FYI). I'm kind of jealous that your babe has dropped, mine is still all up in my ribs and that plus my cold is making it hard for me to breath. But, remember that babies drop in their own time and that doesn't mean she'll come early. Just like being a centimeter dilated at 37 weeks doesn't mean labor is going to start right then.

  27. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

@ladybee: Yes, we are bleeding money like no tomorrow. I guess it's just practice for when the babies get here since we'll be bleeding money for the next 18+ years.

  28. ladybee

    grapefruit / 4079 posts

@evansjamie: I can't imagine how miserable you must be with a cold. I'm having a hard time breathing just with allergies since little guy is still so high into my ribs. Did your MW offer any suggestions for relief?

  29. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

@ladybee: She told me to go home and rest (which I did), use saline spray in my nose, and gave me her blessing to take Tylenol PM to help me sleep. I took a 2-hour nap yesterday afternoon and slept 8 hours last night. It was heaven. I feel better today, but I'm still having a hard time breathing out my nose. Being rested makes it bearable.

@kjpugs: Oh no! But I agree with @evansjamie: there's no way to know what is going to happen. I had some acupuncture done today to prep my body for labor and delivery and she cautioned me to be prepared to go to 41 or 42 weeks.

@evansjamie: @ladybee: We are also bleeding money. 18+ years if we're lucky! I looked at the US News college rankings yesterday and the college I went to is now $45K a year. Who can afford that?!?!

Hi Ladies, I went to the Dr. on Friday for my "final" ultrasound and discovered that our bumpkin is breech. My doctor said it was a slim chance that at 35 weeks he/she would turn before birth and told me to schedule a c-section. I was a bit disappointed, but quickly got over it, after all, we want healthy baby, we don't care how it gets here!

So I'm scheduled for Oct. 3rd. The twist is that my amniotic fluid is on the "low side of normal at 6.1" and I'm having another ultra sound on 9/20 to make sure it hasn't dropped. If it has, I have to deliver. I'll be 37 weeks and one day at that point.

All this on top of moving, family drama and a shower coming up on Saturday. Plus our upstairs a/c zone wasn't working last night. And our dog won't go to daycare. (She plants herself in the back of the car and won't budge). You know, Life!

We're all so close! Wishing everyone luck, beautiful deliveries and healthy babies!

@KJPugs -- will you please share your hospital list?
@evansjamie: I hope you feel better!

@Sadieloo: Dude, I'm scared. I went to college at a state college that doesn't have a high tuition, and I'm seriously trying to get a job at a university so there will be a tuition reduction for my children (and myself).

@MrsMed: October 3 is a good day to be born (shameless birthday plug there)! I hope your fluid levels get better. I have a friend that delivered both her babies early due to low fluid levels at 37-38 weeks and they are both doing well and super smart.

I kind of wish I was getting a late ultrasound, but my midwife and chiropractor both think she's head down (it feels more like a head than a butt to them, plus I feel more legs than arms at the top). Movement is still good, my BP is still good, so I guess I won't get one until they check me when I'm in labor and feel like it's a butt at the exit instead of a head.

@MrsMed: I'm sorry you are having to deal with that change in birth plan!! Hope your fluid level stays in the ok range and you can go to your scheduled date! And the blog post is on my blog, kjpugs dot com, I don't think we're allowed to link in forums like this but the link to my blog is also in my profile. A few commenters had great suggestions too.

Hey everyone - I am in the process of taking inventory post-shower. How many swaddles do you plan on having? What about pacifiers? Towels / washcloths? It's hard to decide what to keep and what to return, especially when it's going to be so dependent on what works for our LO!

@kjpugs: Just read your blog post & saw your mention of the mattress pad for your PnP. We registered for sheets (which we still need to get) but why a mattress pad? Isn't the bassinet vinyl so you can wipe it down?

@Jennimac: I would call your insurance company. We are putting LO on DH's and as long as we do it in the first 30 days, it's retroactive for that time period, so it's like she was on it from the beginning.

  35. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

@daniellemybelle: Since I've only had one shower and I'm not sure if I'm having another one, I kept everything. So I have a lot of towels and washcloths, but I can use them as wipes and/or cleaning rags when I'm done with them.

  36. kjpugs

    grapefruit / 4862 posts

@daniellemybelle: my PNP mattress does NOT feel like vinyl or waterproof. Maybe I'll do some drops of water to test it, but it feels soft.

  37. daniellemybelle

    cantaloupe / 6669 posts

@evansjamie: I got 9 towels total and I think 6 washcloths. 9 towels seems like a lot? I want to exchange them for different colors / patterns anyway.

@kjpugs: Hmm, mine is really vinyl-y. What PnP do you have? We have the Graco "LX."

  38. kjpugs

  39. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

@daniellemybelle: I don't know if 9 is a lot. I'm not sure how many baths to expect with a baby, especially if explosive poop is involved. I don't have nine, I have maybe 4 and a couple of baby robes. I also didn't get any gift receipts, so there was no way I could return them.

  40. daniellemybelle

    cantaloupe / 6669 posts

@evansjamie: I didn't get any gift receipts for some either but it seems like most folks shopped at Target so I am going to just go there and try to get gift cards!

I feel like if you do laundry once a week, and bathe baby daily, and for some reason have to use a new towel every single day (hopefully not) then 7 would be the max necessary number?
