@kjpugs: It's okay, it's my fault, I know exactly what happened. I'm just glad that today is payday.

  2. kjpugs

@evansjamie: is it weird that I'm almost jealous of your BH contractions? I haven't had ANY and am almost doubting myself. Especially with this pressure I'm psyching myself out like "maybe I can't feel contractions and the baby is halfway out?" HAHA! Pregnancy crazies!

  3. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

@kjpugs: On the other hand, every time I wince at work, people ask me if I'm in labor

  4. kjpugs

    grapefruit / 4862 posts

@evansjamie: because I work from home, I react strongly to some of the uncomfortable kicks/movements/LIGHTNING CROTCH. To the point where the few times I'm in public I do that too. I was THIS CLOSE to grabbing my vag in home depot yesterday and screaming OWWWWWWWWW. That would have been quite the show.

@kjpugs: OMG, I almost peed myself holding that laugh in!

@kjpugs: Lol! I hear you. There are def a lot of benefits to working from home, except when I also realize I am not at home and can't conduct myself in the same way. I don't think I've been having BH contractions and/or I can't feel them. I do sometimes feel like my tummy gets really hard and tight, but that's about it. I've also been having a lot more pelvic pressure and it's the worst at night in bed when I try to rollover for whatever reason. I don't get it!

  7. Sadieloo

    kiwi / 726 posts

@evansjamie: I don't blame you! I don't think I would borrow my husband's either Yay for payday! I also think baby boy is dropping, but can't entirely tell. At least my sister thinks he is from the pic I sent her. Even so, I think I have a ways to go.

  8. kjpugs

    grapefruit / 4862 posts

@Sadieloo: same! I asked her about it today, I will feel an area that is "hard" where it's clear she's jammed most of herself, but the rest of my belly is soft. She said it's WHOLE belly being hard. Haven't experienced that yet. Baby's movements are VERY uncomfortable now (like currently RIGHT NOW she's trying to kill me) but no BH that I can tell!

  9. Sadieloo

    kiwi / 726 posts

@kjpugs: Yes! There are moments where I think baby is trying to break free. At the same time, he's not supposed to have a lot of room so I'm not sure how his movements can be so strong. Of course I then wonder if he's not growing big enough.

  10. kjpugs

    grapefruit / 4862 posts

@Sadieloo: i think it's just them being too STRONG and muscling around in there. jerk babies.

  11. Sadieloo

    kiwi / 726 posts

@kjpugs: Lol. I know! They don't realize that they are in our houses and need to play by our rules I know it makes DH happy when he has strong movements - his big strong boy!

  12. kjpugs

    grapefruit / 4862 posts

@Sadieloo: and it makes my DH happy when baby girl annoys me, he calls her his minion! (he loves poking/pinching/generally annoying me.)

  13. Sadieloo

    kiwi / 726 posts

@kjpugs: Yep - sounds about right. I like to remind my husband that his big strong son could be a big strong ballerina who doesn't like to play catch, which I only mention because one of his justifications for wanting a boy is someone to play catch with. I think he forgets that her married a tomboy

Finally home from work! My feet are so sore, but our event went well. Now, to relax and calm down before bed!

@kjpugs: I just finished reading your weekly update posts on your blog and I found so much in common! I have had horrible nausea and hip pain throughout. I expected the nausea; so did not expect the hip pain. I didn't even have that last time when I was pregnant with twins. Plus, I am now at that point where my patience is almost nonexistent. I can't stand the comments from other people and god forbid someone try and touch my stomach. No way!

I hope the pain and nausea lessens in these last few weeks (fat chance, I know, but I can still hope). And who knows, our babes may have the same b-day (I'm due the 15th).

P.S. Your pugs are adorable. We had one when my twins were babies and he was so incredibly protective of them. The only time i ever heard that dog growl was when strangers tried to touch the boys.

@TFrances: aww thanks girl! TOO FUNNY you had a puggy too! I know they'll be great with her. I was hoping I'd have her around the 16th but now I'm thinking/hoping earlier... I can't make it that long. Oh and re: comments from other people, someone asked how I was and I told her doing good just in a lot of pain and ready, and she said "well you know they won't stop labor after 36 week." I about lost my #(*@$&#. REALLY you think I would be like "what, really?!?!" I do go to an OB and know their game plan for delivery, whether it happen today or in a month. Jeez. So sick of people trying to tell me things at this point, haha!

Congratulations Sweet T!!! I hope you and your baby are doing well!

I'm in a major nesting mood right now. I'm baking like there is no tomorrow! One dozen muffins down, two to go!

Pretty sure I had some Braxton Hicks last night. Definitely a weird feeling, but now nothing. My grandmother just informed me that I will have a September baby. Okay grandma! At this point, I may be ready for the little one to arrival. My uncomfortableness has increased dramatically over the last week.

  22. ladybee

    grapefruit / 4079 posts

@TFrances: I had a horrible day Friday after leg cramps at night and what I think we're Braxton Hicks during the day. I'm only 34w5d so I've got awhile to suffer. How cute that your grandma has a prediction!

  23. kjpugs

    grapefruit / 4862 posts

@TFrances: WOOHOO some action! Can your grandma chime in on me too? I cried at BBB today. Mostly because of how much energy it took me to GET there. I got a PSL frap to make myself feel better tho

  24. kjpugs

    grapefruit / 4862 posts

@TFrances: @ladybee: what did the BH feel like to you guys? I'm paranoid that I'm missing them?

  25. TFrances

    apricot / 286 posts

@ladybee @kjpugs: I am so craving a PSL right now, but don't have the energy to go out and get one. Definitely be getting one tomorrow after my doctor appointment.

I'm 35w6d today so not quite at the end. But I feel like he could decide to come anytime now. I may just be ready for this part to be over.

With the BH, my entire stomach and pelvic region tenses up for a few seconds and then releases. I thought it was just the baby moving at first, but it's everywhere all at once. They don't really hurt, but are definitely noticeable to me. I had about five or so within an hour and then nothing.

P.S. DH is putting together the crib as I type this. Can't wait to see how everything looks! And I didn't even have to bug him about it (for once).

  26. ladybee

    grapefruit / 4079 posts

@kjpugs: Cried today when we left to go to Target because I forgot to check if the dog ate his treat without choking (fast eater) and I didn't tell him goodbye and that I loved him. Full on panic attack in the car. Hormones are killer! I have to add that we lost a dog (only 4) very, very, suddenly last August to a stroke (we assume) so my anxiety that he will die isn't all that crazy. My reaction, hell yes

My BH feel like period like cramps and my whole uterus gets tight for a few seconds and then releases. I mainly notice them because I'll stop and think "oh crap, I'm going to start my period" before I have the DUH moment and realize that's still several weeks off!

  27. ladybee

    grapefruit / 4079 posts

@TFrances: Oh how exciting! You'll have to let us know how it turns out! My DH has been getting a lot done without me asking too which is great!

Finished baby girl's halloween costume today! (We have a green cap to go with it, lol.) Hope it fits!

@kjpugs: way to go!!! We found a ladybug sleeper at target and that's what LO is going to be.

Wow, I'm gone for a day and the board moves FAST!

@kjpugs: It took me about a minute to figure out what PSL stood for. As for Braxton Hicks, it feels like my entire stomach tightens up at once. They are now starting to be uncomfortable bordering on mildly painful at 37+2. Love your costume! We are searching for an owl costume.

@ladybee: How are your legs feeling after the calf cramps? And I'm sorry about your dog anxiety. That is an awful situation to have gone through and I can see how it affects you now with the preggo hormones.

@TFrances: I love when my husband does stuff without me telling him!

Also, in class today we passed around the instrument that they use to break your waters. It's like a long crochet hook with a pointy area on it. I'm officially terrified of it.

  32. Sadieloo

    kiwi / 726 posts

@kjpugs: That is so cute! And a great costume for a chef's baby. Did you make that yourself?

@evansjamie: A big crochet hook? That sounds awful and definitely terrifying. Although I do imagine at some point that we will all just want things to move along and won't care.

@TFrances: What does PSL stand for? Happy to hear everything is coming together! Go DH!

@ladybee: Despite my big belly, I also sometimes forget that I am pregnant and have had a lot of duh moments in general.

So we finally had our baby class on Saturday. I'm all for educating myself and have done a lot of reading, but man that 4 hour class seemed long! One person's husband actually fell asleep, which I thought was hilarious. Best part of the class was practicing pain coping techniques (i.e. when DH had to massage me and find pressure points, etc.). That in itself was totally worth it! Has anyone gotten a prenatal massage?

  33. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

@Sadieloo: Dude, this hook is like a foot long! I'm hoping for a spontaneous rupture. We also did a sketch on the cascade of interventions. I love going to class and learning so much! It's funny that that guy fell asleep.

  34. Sadieloo

    kiwi / 726 posts

@evansjamie: Oh man! I too hope for a spontaneous rupture. By the way, have your midwives suggest that you do/taking anything in particular to prep your body? Mine told me to eat pineapple daily and I'm also taking primrose oil. I also like to learn, but it was tough to sit for 4 hours straight. They showed a short video of births and how women coped with everything -- it took everything I had not to cry. I can't believe that will be us any day now.

@EVANSJAMIE: The AmnioHook! Yes, it does look a bit crazy. I was surprised that the vacuum was just a little handheld pump thing - I was expecting something much scarier.

Is anybody else experiencing stiff fingers/joints/knuckles? It is worst in the morning - I imagine this is what arthritis feels like

  36. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

@Sadieloo: I would have a hard time with a four hour class. I'm so glad ours is 2.5 hours every week. I haven't talked to my midwives about taking anything, but I did look at RRL tea at the store this week. I have an appointment tomorrow so I'll probably bring it up then. I don't get cervical checks, so I don't know what's going on down in vag town other than that it's a bit sore and I'm feeling more pressure.

@mrs. mochi: My wrists get stiff in the mornings. It's a weird feeling. I'm also waking up more at night because my hands have fallen asleep. I can't wait to feel normal again.

  37. Sadieloo

    kiwi / 726 posts

@mrs. mochi: Yes! My joints have definitely gotten stiffer. For me I think it is mostly mild edema, but it is annoying. I haven't been able to wear my rings for the past few weeks because I'm afraid they'll get stuck.

  38. Sadieloo

    kiwi / 726 posts

@evansjamie: 2.5 hours would probably be much more manageable. I may have ADD I don't get cervical checks either, which I am 100% ok with. I think it's really just supposed to help things soften and get primed. I am also definitely feeling more pelvic pressure although everyone I see says I have yet to drop.

@Sadieloo: Did you like the birth videos? We watched some of Brazilian women birthing in the squatting position and I found it fascinating. Next week we are going to hear two birth stories and work with our comfort measures and I'm really excited about that. I'm also kind of excited to check out my placenta when it comes out.

Oh wow! i finally caught up on all of this weekends posts. Yay SweetT for being our first October Mama I cant wait to hear how it all went down.

@kjpugs: I love the costume! I think i'm going to try to make this sushi roll onesie

@evansjamie: What kind of muffins did you whip up? Also I think part of me was afraid to take the class, I might be better off not knowing things like giant crochet hooks

This weekend was a doozie. Saturday we headed to my parents house in NJ, had brunch at my best friends then I went on baby shopping spree with my mom. We went to buy buy baby and got the majority of things left on my registry that were must haves. This included the rest of our cloth diaper stash, the diaper sprayer, more clothes, some toys and breast feeding supplies. Next was joann's for fabric for my last 2 projects and Old Navy i got baby a fleece snow suit and jacket. We ended up going to dinner with my parents, my BF and her hubs and getting home at like 11pm. Yesterday I woke up feeling funny. I was having digestion issues and mid way through grocery shopping started feeling really crampy. We had a bunch of people over to watch the football games so i sucked it up as best i could but tried to sit as much as possible. By the time everyone left i was on the couch pretty uncomfortable with cramps and sore ab muscles from pretty intense BH contractions. Hubs was worried we'd be going to the hospital but I was able to sleep through the night and woke up feeling better today. May have over did it on saturday or maybe baby is dropping hard to tell because i'm so short waisted. I'm glad i'm heading to the doctor tomorrow.
