@TFrances: Ooh, plantar fascitis is the worst! I'm not dealing with that, but I've got some serious pain my my left groin area along my pelvic bone. There's nothing that can be done but have the baby, according to my chiropractor. It's worst when I've been sitting for awhile, so I try to get up and move.

@Sadieloo: @kjpugs: @Chillybear: Thanks ladies!
@Chillybear: I pee myself on the daily. I wish I was joking! DH keeps telling me to just wear the Depends but I can't do it lol
@TFrances:Plantar Fasciitis is the worst everrrrr. Try using a tennis ball under your foot? It was the only thing that helped at all!
AFM, nothing going on here, things seem to have stalled for now! I'm happy but mostly I'm a ball of anxiety haha. This unpredictability is killing my little Type A heart.

Returned from my 38wk appointment - I am GBS negative and have dilated 2-2.5 cm. Turns out the cramps I have are totally normal for latent (early) labor.

@mrs. mochi: WHAT?! That's exciting! You could be having your baby soon!!!
Totally jealous over here, but so excited for you!

@TFrances: I've had some slight issues with plantar fascitis in my right heel that I only assume is pregnancy related. Mostly it's when I get up to pee, UGH! It's very mild so I can't imagine dealing with it full blown, hope you get some relief.

@evansjamie and @kjpugs: thank you, ladies! i really am willing to put up with these cramps for another week or two though...i would love for her to come no earlier than october 1st! wishful thinking...
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@mrs. mochi: lol I feel exactly the same, 10/1 or bust! (that's 2 weeks early which is the earliest I'm truly comfortable with.)

So, we had some pics taken last night for maternity. One I completely love and some is not so flattering. As my wise younger sister said, "but you look so happy and full of love!" True! Just not how I pictured myself in my head.
Also, went to the bathroom and had more discharge than I normally have seen this entire pregnancy. It's like I blew my nose. Is that part of my mucus plug?!?!!
pomegranate / 3032 posts
@Jennimac: You look so pretty! Sister is right! Also having the same problem but its for like a day here, a day there, over the course of the last 2 weeks. i've been wondering if the plug should be like a more solid chunk, mine is mostly the consistency of snot
watermelon / 14467 posts
@Jennimac: Holy cow, you are gorgeous in these! Not that you aren't all the time, but I really see the love in these pictures. You guys are just glowing with happiness! I'm curious about the discharge as well, I've been having more and it's mucousy like snot, but it's not a lot, so I'm not sure.

@Jennimac: HOLY GORGEOUS! You look amazing!!!!!! My chiro said today that now was the point where I was starting to look REALLY pregnant and the most gorgeous and had a glow and I just BUST OUT LAUGHING in her face haha. I know exactly what you're saying!! But FWIW, I vote amazing gorgeous beautiful!!!
And I bet that is at least part of your mucous plug!! If you can stand to... do a google image search. I did, and it was gross, but it made me feel more in the know!

@Jennimac: Also, what lipstick are you wearing? It's really pretty!

Finally the nursery is coming together! To be fair, it's half nursery and half 10-year-old boys' room so we had to be a bit creative. We love science and science fiction. I hit on the space theme and decided to run with it. Thankfully the big boys are really into space right now so they aren't complaining.

@JENNIMAC: Pretties!!!
@TFRANCES: I love the decals - perfect for babe and a big boy

I have had A Day. Been having not painful contractions since Saturday but today they got painful. Lost the plug, all that and the contractions were 2-5 min apart for an hour, then just stopped. What the heck! Doula says this is normal but it's beyond discouraging and emotionally exhausting. It wouldn't be so bad but I'm gbs+ so I'm stressing now about balancing going to the hospital only when it's legit and having enough time for the iv antibiotics. Oy

@mrs. mochi: So crazy! Still sending you my thoughts and prayers that baby will stay put for at least another week.
@Jennimac: Gorgeous!
@TFrances: Love the space ship theme. Great idea!
Man, I am starting to feel jealous of all you gals and having clear signs and signals that things are moving. I still feel basically the same but have been having more BH contractions. I am definitely convinced that the baby is going to be late now.
Can't wait to see who is going to be the first official October mama!
apricot / 391 posts
@Sadieloo: she is worried about balancing it too but is leaning toward making sure I'm in pretty active labor before going to the hospital. So.... We shall see how that goes
apricot / 377 posts
@AprilK: HI there, Best of luck to you! You're in my thoughts. So what are the contractions? Just false labor/early contractions?
apricot / 391 posts
@MrsMed: early labor I've been told. Who knows though!! They seem pretty legit at times.... Just wish they'd stop teasing me and get on with it!!
apricot / 377 posts
And good luck to ALL of you ladies!
I haven't been checking in as frequently cuz its crazy 'round these parts. With work, unpacking, nursery, generally being a tired schlub. But I'm officially on maternity leave! Woo hoo! Anyone else?
apricot / 377 posts
@AprilK: I hear you Sister! Are you dilating? what do you do during the contractions?
grapefruit / 4079 posts
I was checked yesterday. 1.5cm but he didn't seem worried Id go into labor next week while he was out of town. I woke up at 5, threw up, have had a few watery BM and now I'm pretty sure I just lost some of my mucus plug. I wish there was a timer that dinged when baby was done so you knew you had 48 hours.
pomegranate / 3032 posts
Well it's Baby Day! I had my 38 week appt last night and I was 4cm dilated 50% effaced and I had lost my plug. My water broke around 5 am and was trickling we talked to dr and she sent me to L&D triage and they're admitting me
apricot / 391 posts
@MrsMed: I was 2-3 cm dilated and cervix was soft as of Monday but no idea where it is now!
@Chillybear: So excited for you!
@ladybee: you should invent that timer, you could make MILLIONS. I would buy one RIGHT NOW.
watermelon / 14467 posts
So, my comment got eaten by the internet. Here goes take 2.
@MrsMed: I start maternity leave next Tuesday!!! So stinking excited!
@ladybee: Invent that timer. I want one badly. But then I'd be sitting there, staring at it and waiting for it to ding, and we all know a watched timer doesn't ding.
@Chillybear: I commented on your other thread, but I'm so stinking excited for you and your hubby!
@AprilK: They aren't checking me, so I have no idea where I'm sitting on the dilation train. I may ask for it next week at my appointment, since I'm sure that I'm going to be making it to the appointment.
apricot / 391 posts
@evansjamie: if you do ask for the check, ask if your cervix is soft and how effaced. Then you can get a better idea of when you might go based on your bishop score http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bishop_score
It's a much better measurement of where you are at rather than just looking at dilation.
watermelon / 14467 posts
@AprilK: Thanks for the tip! Also, I googled vagina pain, and it can be a sign that your cervix is dilating in preparation for labor, so I'm going to hang on to that hope.
cherry / 175 posts
@EVANSJAMIE: When you say "vagina pain", would you describe it as your vagina feeling sore? As if you got kicked down there and it feels tender/bruised? If so, I've had vagina pain for months now.
watermelon / 14467 posts
@mrs. mochi: Yes, exactly. I know that some serious head-grinding action was going on down there (at least that's what it felt like), but today even moving kind of hurts. Last night during my 8,000 toilet trips it even hurt to sit down, it's like the entire ladybit area is sore. When I've had it before it's gone away, but I've been having vagina pain for the last few nights and some serious baby acrobatics to go with it.
cherry / 163 posts
@Chillybear: Yay! So excited for you!
I am also jealous of everybody feeling some effects, I've felt nothing so like @Sadieloo said, I think I'll be late as well.
cherry / 163 posts
And I just googled mucus plug because I wasn't sure what to be looking for... Scarred for life
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@Chillybear: OMG SO EXCITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to hear the good news
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@AprilK: that's so interesting. I wish I knew the position of my cervix or the actual position of her head so I could get my "full" score. I think I am probably a 4-6 right now.

AFM.... both a good and bad appointment today.
The good: had one of my two FAVORITE doctors. She said baby had definitely dropped. I was concerned about weight gain (it's been like 10 lbs in two weeks!??!?!) and she noted that I had a lot of swelling in my pelvic area. I didn't know women swelled anywhere other than legs/ankles (the usual you hear about... I guess unlike FUPA swelling, haha.) She checked me and my cervix is soft (it was two weeks ago too) and also she noted baby's head is low. I think she said it like "yep baby's head is riiiight there." - we were talking about the pelvic pain etc. She also noted that I'm about 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced. So that's all good progress for 37 1/2 weeks!
The bad: She noticed that my pelvic bone is flatter. I asked what that means and she held her fingers up to form a circle and said this how how normally the bones are and yours is flatter (she made the circle flatter- more like an oval or in my mind, a MAIL SLOT) and this is how yours seems to be shaped a bit more. She assured me it didn't mean a definite C-section it just can present problems especially with larger babies. So now I've been crying and terrified about that all night. I don't want to labor and labor and after hours of trying to push a baby through a mail slot, have to have major surgery. That's the WORST of both. I'm terrified and disappointed in my body. I would love baby to come earlier just beacuse she'd be smaller and have a better chance of being born vaginally. Oh and the other "bad" is I have to see my least favorite doctor next week
To end on a good note DH took a "daddy bootcamp" class last night and LOVED IT. He's turned into like super dad prep mode. He's upset though that we didn't do a lamaze or childbirth class. OH WELL! Not a single one worked with his schedule, it's not like he can take off work to do this when he needs his days off for leave (plus, his restaurant just reopened so days off aren't really advised right now unless it's very important.) I would have liked to have gone, but I know we'll survive.
kiwi / 726 posts
@AprilK: Yes, best of luck to you! I am sure everything will work out just great
@ladybee: Wow! Sounds like things are really moving
@Chillybear: yay! So excited for you and please keep us posted. Sending you good vibes!!!
@evansjamie: Same here! I guess that's what happens with midwives. I still have zero pre-labor minus more BH contractions so I think it will be awhile yet for me.
@kjpugs: Sorry to hear the news you received wasn't what you wanted to hear. Just remember that there have certainly been women in the same boat as you that have had vaginal childbirths! Hopefully your doc will work with you to get you in the optimal birthing position so that you can avoid a c-section. On the other hand, so happy to hear your DH is on board and getting into it!
@Redmini1: Glad I'm not the only one!!!
