Hi Ladies! I'm the last of the September mamas but apparently baby girl is choosing to be born in October so I'm joining y'all. Hope you don't mind.
I'm 40+1 and although I've been having contractions for weeks now, no real progress. Had a cervical check at my 39 week appointment and baby was very far down and cervix was very thin but still closed. The doctor said if nothing happens this week then I could go for an induction as early as Oct 7th. Baby has one week to come on her own.
Congratulations to all the October mamas who already had their babies!

@MapleMoose: Welcome! How are you feeling? I am convinced that I'll be late as well, so it would be good to know what to expect.
@mrs. mochi: I hear you! I want to make it to at least this weekend, which I am pretty sure will happen.
@kjpugs: You're one day closer

Happy October, October mamas! Going to be thread stalking to see your sweet little babies!

Well, had my 40 week appointment! Baby girl is head down and her HB is perfect. I had my favorite midwife this week, and we scheduled my 41 week appointment if I need it for 10/8.
Today is my first day of maternity leave, and I've already fielded a call from work. UGH.
cherry / 175 posts
@EVANSJAMIE: Yay for head down Shut off that phone! You need to rest up for your turn!
@SADIELOO: I hope that you and I make it through this weekend
grapefruit / 4213 posts
@Sadieloo: Thank you! I'm am so READY to pop this baby out and meet her. I've been having contractions where my entire belly hardens up and cramps in front & back for weeks now, but they never get regular and thus aren't timeable. I've tried staying active, DTD, nipple stimulation (lol TMI), bouncing on the yoga ball...they all start contractions but those just taper off. The contractions wake me up at night but aren't super painful. It's literally just a waiting game at this point.

@mrs. mochi: I'm trying! I will be changing my voicemail message once the baby gets here and sending an email saying, "Please only contact me if it is a true emergency! Otherwise, let me enjoy this time snuggling my newborn."
cherry / 175 posts
@EVANSJAMIE: Perhaps you should clarify what "emergency" is...you know...like the office building is on fire.
watermelon / 14467 posts
@mrs. mochi: Yes, or, "Your hard drive has crashed!" Not, "Hey, I don't remember seeing this page, is it supposed to be there?" when the obvious answer is to look at the past revisions and then you would know.

@MapleMoose: Welcome! If you are eager to avoid an induction I've got my share of (mid)wives tales on things that will work for you. #1 being a fair share of sex that involves him finishing inside (hopefully not to graphic for the group- but honestly that's what got us all here so don't be shy.)
Cheers to October babies!

@fuzzypeaches: Congratulations!
It makes all of us envious to hear about these fast labors! We should all be so lucky! Enjoy your new baby boy!
grapefruit / 4213 posts
@Protectlove: We've been trying that and it stimulates contractions but they don't stick around for too long. Any other ideas? I'm listening!!

@evansjamie: Glad to hear your appt went well and baby girl is gettin' ready!
@MapleMoose: Oh man! I really feel like I will be in your position soon as well. Besides lots of BH contractions and some slight colostrum leakage, I have had zero pre-labor symptoms and feel like baby boy is very happy where he is. I hope your baby comes soon!!! My midwives have given me the same advice and my friend today (who is training to be a midwife) suggested that I talk to my acupuncturist about stimulating labor should I go past 40 weeks. And as far as I am concerned, there is no such thing as TMI on this board.

Ok, I'm going to start thread stalking you ladies! And holy moly I just looked at your list and there are so many Oct mommies! Good luck to you all!
grapefruit / 4213 posts
@Sadieloo: Hmm... I've never had acupuncture before. I'm reading the other thread about what stimulates labor and it sounds like when baby is ready, baby is ready and there's not much we can do to jumpstart things. Grrr!
kiwi / 726 posts
@MapleMoose: Yeah, that's what I've heard for the most part. I'm a big believer in acupuncture though and it has worked for my aches and pains, so I am thinking it has to work for inducing labor too

Happy October, Ladies! And congrats to @SweetT, @jellyfish, @chillybear, @redmini1, @aprilK, Beaker, KaitlinB and @fuzzypeaches on their babies! So happy for you. I'm away for a few days and tons of babies are born. Yay!
I'm going in for a csection on Thursday, Oct.3. Wish me luck. Baby is still breech, so we're going ahead with it. I'll be in touch.
And best of luck to everyone still waiting...I feel you. I can barely walk. My fingers are stiff and getting out of the car is a pain in the arse (literally). Not to mention sleeping. But it's all worth it!
Cheers!

@MrsMed: So soon! Definitely update us- I'll be thinking of you and you *may* be the first OFFICIAL October mom! Unless anyone has their babies today or tomorrow!
watermelon / 14467 posts
@MrsMed: Good luck with your c-section! I am getting uncomfortable now too. My hips are killing me and my vag hurts so bad. I can't wait to meet this girl!

@kjpugs @evansjamie: thanks so much you guys. I hope I'm NOT the first -- I hope someone gets this party started TONIGHT!!!
Off to last minute CPR class...

@evansjamie: hi!!! Your last comment to mrsmed sounds just like me. SO OVER IT, So ready! Chiro tomorrow then 38 1/2 week appt Thursday. Not the worst day though. I hope your coworkers start to leave you alone ASAP! How are you spending your time now? Resting/walking/preparing?
watermelon / 14467 posts
@kjpugs: We're twinsies! I have a chiro appointment tomorrow as well! I'm walking, bouncing on the ball, and got some laundry/dishes done today. I also cleaned the tub. I don't know what I'll do tomorrow, but hopefully no calls from work!
apricot / 377 posts
@evansjamie: The fact that you're cleaning the tub could mean you're close to labor, huh? Are you in that extreme clean mode or is that just normal evansjamie?
apricot / 377 posts
@evansjamie: I mean, were you on your knees, because when I got on my knees in CPR class, I thought I might die.
watermelon / 14467 posts
@MrsMed: That's just normal for me. I am obsessed with having a clean bathroom. I've been known to clean my parent's bathroom when I'm visiting or house sitting for them. And yep, on my knees, scrubbing the tub. It's a comfy position for me, I may labor in that position because it takes pressure off my back.
apricot / 286 posts
So my BH contractions have stopped, but baby boy has been extremely active all day. And there is definitely no more room in there to be this active. I think his activities are worse than the random contractions. I wonder if this is him preparing to arrive? We'll see what the doctor says tomorrow at my 38 weeks appointment.
pomelo / 5073 posts
@TFrances: i swear mine is trying to claw her way out! I woke up 3 separate times last night from her almost turning over or doing something. I'm very curious to see what's going on at my appointment tomorrow. @MrsMed: we have a section scheduled in less than two weeks because ours is breech. If she turns we will cancel, but for now that's what we are going with.
apricot / 286 posts
@Jennimac: Glad to hear it's not just mine. And the punches to my cervix have got to stop!
apricot / 377 posts
@Jennimac: Here's to baby turning! Either way, I hope all goes well. And just message me if your girl ends up digging in her heels and staying put, I can fill you in on what happens.
grapefruit / 4213 posts
@Jennimac: I hope your baby turns naturally. We had a September mama (MarionBerry) who had an External Cephalic Version to try to avoid c-section but unfortunately it didn't work and she said it was intensely painful.

@MapleMoose: @Sadieloo: I have "let's get this baby going" acupuncture scheduled for this Friday! I've only done acupuncture once before in my life, but that one time was when I was 38w3d pregnant with LO and my water broke 12 hours later, so I figure it can't hurt to try it again
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@Lozza: I WISH I was doing that today, I'm exactly 38w 2d! I'll be going to the chiro but no accupuncture until next week if I really need it.
Today is my half birthday!!! HOPING/WISHING baby would come today to celebrate I think I will slip my chiro a $20 and ask her to get things started. Surely there is some magic adjustment they reserve for the high rollers? HAHA!
watermelon / 14467 posts
Ahh, it's October 2!!!!! It is crazy that I have TWO DAYS until my due date. And ONE day until my birthday!!! Looks like I will be giving birth at 28. No labor signs here. Just (im)patiently waiting for my little girl to arrive.
kiwi / 726 posts
@Jennimac: I hope baby girl turns as well!
@Lozza: I just finished my acupuncture treatment and it was amazing. I've been doing it off and on for awhile now, but the best part of acupuncture during pregnancy (for me) is that it totally relaxes my entire body and mind and I feel weightless. Today we worked on getting baby boy to move down. I will let you know how it works. If I make it to my appt next week when I'm 40 + 3, I think we'll start working on really getting him out
@kjpugs: hope the chiro works some magic on you and you get some relief!
@evansjamie: can't believe we are almost at our due dates. I don't know about you, but I feel like I have been pregnant forever and am def ready to meet this little dude.
