Dang, no magic worked at chiro (that I can tell, haha) besides the usual. I joked with her about doing whatever "special" have-the-baby adjustment she could do, but she said she was SIXTEEN DAYS OVERDUE with her daughter, so if she knew it she would have done it! Her mom's trip to visit and "help with baby" was over before she even had the baby! Oh man, I cannot imagine!

I need to call HR. My replacement called me again today with questions. I left a packet of instructions for everyone, and it is October, so technically, none of this is my problem. She has already said she will call tomorrow, on my freaking birthday, but I will not be answering.
They must be trying to drive me away.

@Lozza: Good luck. I hope the acupuncture works for you!
@kjpugs: Aww bummer!
@evansjamie: Oh no, time to start screening phone calls.
pomelo / 5073 posts
@MapleMoose: honestly, I'm a-ok with her not turning. I don't really have great memories with a regular birth since we had to be induced with our first one that we lost at 20 weeks last year. What happens, happens. Right now I'm just hoping she comes when DH is on vacation, which happens next Thursday.
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@evansjamie: yeah OMG that is not ok. Did you say to her when she called to refer to what you left, and that you cannot help her anymore unless it's an actual emergency? I think definitely call HR too. That cannot happen when baby is here.
watermelon / 14467 posts
@kjpugs: No, I didn't say that to her (she's older, like my grandma's age and that makes it hard to be blunt), but this has to stop. I'm going to talk to HR and then send her an email stating that I cannot be expected to field daily phone calls and am willing to answer one call a week until the baby gets here. Then, I will be unavailable as I get to know my newborn and care for her.
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@evansjamie: good call. (I was picturing a clueless temp- older lady makes it harder.) I am glad your leave started pre-baby so you have time to figure this out!
I just crafted my out of office and it's literally longer than half the emails I send. Just sent it to my boss to OK. It includes my entire team because I basically am the sales support person in addition to my job duties, URG!

@kjpugs: I love a good out-of office reply. Mine are usually fairly long too.

38 Week appointment update: Head is down all the way but absolutely not dilation. Doctor offered to strip my membrane, but I declined. He doesn't think the baby will be coming on his own and I agree. We have the c-section scheduled for the 15th. We also scheduled an appointment for the 14th to do some final checks. So, really nothing new to report. But I did get a flu shot.

Just got back. Dr. Is pretty sure I'll last until my csection so that's good. I'm still about a 1-2. Baby weighs almost 7 lbs!!! Still breech as ever! We go back Monday. Dr told not to go into labor this weekend because he is bow hunting. That made me laugh and smile.

I just got back from grocery shopping and Target and now I can hardly walk! I think I might have overdone it a bit with the walking and the buying. But I wanted to get the rest of the essentials before something happened and I had to rely on DH's judgement (he has no clue when it comes to shopping!). Not a single person bought me diapers or wipes so I had to get those. I also picked up a infant carrier, pacis, bottles (just in case), disposable changing pads, and a Halloween outfit (I had to!). Now I'm feeling a lot better about the baby coming. I've covered all my essentials, now we wait.

@TFrances: great buys!!! And I know what you mean. After I went grocery shopping last week I felt the same way. Get some good sleep! (ha, as if that's possible.)

@Jennimac: agree with @MapleMoose: totally understand your feelings. Great to hear that baby girl is a healthy weight! How hunting? That's hilarious.
@TFrances: yay for getting all the necessities! I walked my dog to meet DH at the train station and boy am I feeling it today. My back is super sore. Hope you get some rest!
@evansjamie: hope your replacement figures everything out. Crazy that she keeps calling you.
Is anyone else working up to the day they pop? I am really missing having no ML benefits right now and so just want to check out. Que sera, sera.

Hi Ladies, Going in tomorrow morning for the scheduled csection and I'm a freaking nervous wreck right now. I'm terrified of the epidural. I had the hospital tour today and the place seems so sterile. (Not sure what I was expecting, Little House on the Prairie, perhaps?) My husband is driving me nuts. I'm just on edge. On top of being super excited to meet my baby, I'm just nervous and not sure why. Also today is my birthday. Wish me luck, yall. I'll let you know how it goes.
PS. @evansjamie -- love the nursery. It's so pretty!

@evansjamie: Beautiful & classic! Great choice on the Jenny Lind crib!

@Mrsmed: So excited about your impending arrival! I can attest that the epidural isn't as bad as you're imagining in your head. If it is anything like my experience, the OR staff will help you stay calm and prepare for the procedure. Once the epidural kicks in, everything happens so quickly. Good luck!

@evansjamie: Your nursery looks great!!!
@MrsMed: Totally understandable! I think everyone would be nervous as well. I keep trying to tell myself with labor and everything else that you can handle anything for a day. You'll be great! You're in my thoughts today and keep us updated!
How is everyone else feeling? I think my body is finally telling me it's just about had it with being pregnant. When I get out of bed at night and in the AM I feel like 100 years old (at least my knees and back). I'm not counting down the seconds until this little guy is born but things need to start cooking

@Protectlove: @Sadieloo: Thank you!
I'm so ready to meet this girl. I had a dream last night that she was born and I went to the nursery to see her and she was so beautiful that we cried. It was the best dream to kick off my birthday.
My pelvis aches fiercely in the mornings and when I get up from laying down. The only thing that relieves it is sitting on the ball, so I've been doing that like it's my job.
I hope everyone has a great day!

@Sadieloo: The original plan was to work until I began labor. Thankfully my supervisors told me one week before my due date to work at home so that's what I've been doing.
@evansjamie: What a great nursery! I like the arrangement of framed artwork above the changing station.
@MrsMed: Happy Birthday! Thinking of you and sending you wishes for a smooth delivery and speedy recovery.
@Sadieloo: @evansjamie: I have been using a heating pad at night on my hips to relieve some of the pain for several weeks now. It doesn't always help and I end up hobbling around the next day like an old woman so I know exactly what you mean.

@SADIELOO: I plan on working until I give birth. I have great ML and my management is supportive; however, knowing myself, I think I'd be at home twiddling my thumbs and driving myself crazy. Work is a good outlet for me as well as a distraction Additionally, I work in the health system where I receive my care - this means worst case scenario - I walk 1/2 block to Labor & Delivery

Hi Ladies! Thanks for all the birthday wishes and words of support. We are on the way to the hospital. @tfrances: it was very soothing to hear the epidural went smoothly for you.
I feel much better today and am sooooo ready!

@Sadieloo: I'm working right up to delivery. Probably will work a bit while contracting, IF THAT EVER HAPPENS UGH! But working from home makes that really easy
@evansjamie: the nursery looks GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!! And Happy Birthday friend
@MrsMed: thinking of you today!!! I know it'll go GREAT! Looks like you might be the first OFFICIAL October birth in our group And did I miss- is it your actual birthday too? Or just going to be baby's birthday? LOL! If it is yours- happy birthday!

@kjpugs: Thank you!
I'm 40 weeks tomorrow, and TODAY, my pipes started groaning when the water is turned on. Google tells me that there could be too much pressure in the pipes or I have a faulty fill valve in one of my toilets. Oh, joy. Off to find a plumber....

AFM, just had my appointment this morning. DH came with me to get his TDAP. My BP has NEVER been over 118/70 (usually lower) and today was 130/86!!! WONDER WHAT (WHO) CAUSED THAT?!?!?!?! haha. DH is not a morning person anyways- he usually is just waking up now.
My check showed no progress from last time unfortunately. I am starting to believe I truly won't have her until around or after her due date. I did get to talk to the OB about what they allow/encourage etc about laboring - because of my flat pelvic bone issues. He encouraged me to labor at home as long as I was comfortable with as long as she was moving between contractions. So unless my water breaks or she isn't moving, I will try to labor at home for a while. We also discussed what the hospital allows as far as laboring and delivery- I am SO lucky it's such a progressive place. They have all sorts of different things to assist in different positions for laboring and birth. Very glad I asked. He also even said that if I am needing an epidural I could get a walking epidural (where it's not as strong, so you can still walk) which makes me feel better knowing I have an option that won't put me in bed without options. Overall it was disappointing to not have progress since last week, but besides that I was happy with how it went!

@MrsMed: happy birthday!
@mrs. mochi: that's what I've been thinking too (I work from home FT so really can't complain). Although I don't feel like working as much, I'd probably be thinking about labor all day which would be no good for me. Awesome that you can walk to where you are giving birth too!
@kjpugs: hang in there friend! Thank goodness for working from home, right?!?
@MapleMoose: I too have been hobbling. Thankfully not waddling yet but that is just around the corner. I keep wondering if this is what getting old feels like.
