A little late on the questions since we were gone all weekend!
How far along are you? 16 weeks, 1 day
Do you know what you're having? If not, when will you find out? We're having our second girl!
Any current symptoms? Still tired but I'm so unsure as to whether that's the pregnancy or the toddler. My nausea is slowly going away although I do still lose my appetite from time to time.
Have you considered nursery colors, themes, or inspiration? Yes! I think we're going to do a ocean themed nursery (possibly with mermaids) in light aqual, coral, yellow, and gray.
What are you most looking forward to at the moment? Definitely looking forward to movement!

I found out yesterday that I'm having a girl! I was originally scheduled to find out today, but I received a call Friday canceling my appointment because the ultrasound machine was broken. I freaked out since I had planned this for a month so my mom and mother in law could go too. They both live out of town. Luckily I was able to find another place and go yesterday. Baby was very active and stubborn. She didn't open her legs until the last minute!
The tech told me that I have an anterior placenta, that baby girl is very low, and she's breech. I'm not concerned about her position because I know she'll turn many different ways between now and October. I'm a little bummed about the placenta though. I'm ready to feel movement, especially after seeing how wiggly she is!

hey ladies - I was in the hospital again this week, now seeing a permanent OB (who told me not to go back to the RE) and a dietician to help me put on weight, as I'm down 30 lbs.
I think the nausea and puking is under control now, but the dry heaving is horrible and I still don't have much of an appetite. Taking things one day at a time.

@hilsy85: i had to go back and see your announcement pic! i missed it before!
for headaches, i always drank more water, took a tylenol, ice pack and i can't recommend a chiropractor enough! i used to get bad headaches often (not to migraine status though) and regular chiropractic care saved me!
@babycanuck: i'm so sorry you're still suffering. i hope your OB and dietician can help!

@Mrs. Pickle: Oh, ok. I do remember you telling me that you would find out on Monday. Glad you found a place yesterday that could do it. Was it at your OB office or did you go to a place that did elective ultrasounds?
Right now, I have a 16w & 20w appt schedule. So I would have to wait til the 20w appt to find out.. which is Jun 2nd. We might be going on our baby moon to Cabo a day or two after so I wouldn't have enough time to do the cupcake/cake reveal. So now I'm wondering if I should find a place to do an elective u/s at 18 weeks.
Oh, thanks for updating the list!
@babycanuck: Oh, no. I'm so sorry you are still struggling. Hope you get some relief soon.

@Mrs. Pickle: At my last ultrasound, I saw that the tech wrote that one baby had a anterior placenta and the other was posterior. Though the dr didn't say anything to me about it.
Then on Friday, my nurse called me back about how I was spotting again (which she said it's normal to spot for a few weeks after having subchorionic bleeding). Anyway she mentioned on the phone about placenta previa. I told her that the dr didn't mention it to me. So now I'm confused if I actually have it or if she mixed up my chart. I'm seeing the OB next week, so I'll confirm with the OB.

@Mrs. Pickle: yay for a girl! I also have an anterior placenta, kind of a bummer!
@babycanuck: so sorry you are still suffering! I have a friend with HG and she said it improved around 20/22 weeks, so here's hoping for you!
@birdofafeather: yeah I am really trying to chug water. I thought I was doing ok (drinking about 50-60 oz a day but so far this morning (since 6:30) I've had 65oz! Going to try to keep up that rate. My OB also mentioned magnesium supplements.
@bluestriped bee: I would think you'd be able to find out at the 16 week appt--that's when I found out with LO1!
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@hilsy85: Oh, really? Though, it's not guaranteed, right? That's only if both babies are cooperating. It would be great to find out at 16 weeks.
squash / 13764 posts
@bluestriped bee: I mean I guess it depends on their positioning, but at 16 weeks it should be very obvious, assuming that you get a clear shot (which can always be an issue). It was VERY obvious at 16 weeks with my son!

@bluestriped bee: I've found out the sex with all three of my kids at 15 weeks! Not sure if it's harder to tell with twins though...maybe you'll at least be able to see one?
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@hilsy85: @Rainbow Sprinkles: Oh, cool! That's so great to know.

@bluestriped bee: We found out at 16 weeks with LO1 and 15 with this LO and it was pretty obvious both times!

@babycanuck: So sorry you're still dealing with this. Hopefully you get some relief soon!

@Mrs. Pickle: congrats on the baby girl! I also have an anterior placenta AGAIN, I had one last time with DS too.
I'm already feeling some movement though and I'm a little over 14 weeks. With DS I felt him at 16 weeks so you may still feel her soon, you never know! With DS I never had any hard kicks or anything and I didn't feel him move a whole lot, it was mostly squirming. But I think that was the combination of the anterior placenta and him being breech the entire time. He was so squished.

@babycanuck: so sorry! That sounds awful, I hope you start to feel better soon
pomegranate / 3516 posts
@bluestriped bee: I meant to mention that I didn't have full placenta previa last time but I had a low lying placenta at 21 weeks. It resolved by 28 weeks (probably well before) and wasn't an issue. She told me I would possibly have spotting but that most placenta previa/low lying placenta cases resolve in time.
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@BelugaBean: Oh, cool. Good to know it can resolve itself.

@Mrs. Pickle: congrats on your girl!!
@babycanuck: so sorry. I don't have that issue but I know having tummy issues in pregnancy SUCKS. (Sucks not in pregnancy for that matter..) I hope you are able to make some progress with weight gain and feel better soon! Will be thinking of you and your lo!
@bluestriped bee: I have both SCH and some degree of olacenta previa too. I was told olacenta previa actually can make you more at risk for SCH, so go figure. Hope you can get more info soon! Definitely normal to spot for awhile after an SCH bleed. I had marginal olacenta previa with my first baby and it moved and everything was fine. I think it's pretty common. You seem to be taking this all in stride!
I have an appointment in two days and I'm getting pretty nervous as I haven't felt definite movement and I just want to know everything's ok in there! I know it's normal though so hopefully everything's fine. This is the first time since becoming pregnant I've actually gone four weeks without an appointment!

@BelugaBean: Congrsts on your girl!! @Mrs. Pickle: yayyy!!!
girls are so fun!
@babycanuck: you poor thing!!! I really hope you can catch a break soon
@bluestriped bee: I also think you should definitely find out at 16 weeks!

@bluestriped bee: if you have an ultrasound at 16 weeks you should be able to find out! I found out at 16+5. I can't wait to know what you're having! Are you hoping for one of each?
@babycanuck: I really hope you start feeling better soon.
@NurseDMB: That sounds promising! Hopefully I'll feel some movement soon then.

@NovBaby1112: @Mrs. Pickle: woohoo! Next Wednesday is my 16 week appt!

@Mrs. Pickle: hoping for one of each but I'll take 2 boys or two girls.

@bluestriped bee: I have no idea why it kept putting olacenta instead of placenta. It's on my autocorrect. Stupid phone.
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@2littlepumpkins: Haha. It's okay. I figured it was something autocorrect was doing.

Anyone else struggling with clothes lately? Ugh getting dressed every morning is such an ordeal and it puts me in the WORST mood. I'm a SAHM so I don't have to get dressed up every day, but I'm tired of wearing yoga pants. Maternity shirts just look ridiculous but all of my other shirts don't fit either. I thought I would have enough of a belly by now to wear maternity clothes and look pregnant. So frustrated. I'm tired of just looking fat!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
@jodyblair: I completely understand! My maternity shirts are still a little baggy, but my regular shirts are getting short and make me look fat. I'd really like to get past this stage!
pomegranate / 3516 posts
@jodyblair: I'm right there with you! I've been wearing a lot of tank tops and tshirts with jeans and then dresses when I can. I feel like I just look fat and I just want to be in that cute big belly stage. Maternity shirts look huge and unnecessary and a lot of my regular shirts look ridiculous.
grapefruit / 4455 posts
@jodyblair: I just try not to do too much of those ones with the side gathering particularly on my "smaller" days. Those ones can look baggy. My bump is still pretty small at least in the mornings but I feel like maternitu clothes in general make it look bumpier. With Dd I had a hide-able bump til into the third trimester and I think I just looked fat for a long time so this time I'm kinda trying to make it more obvious that I'm pregnant..
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@jodyblair: Yeah, I'm having this problem, too. I'm wearing a regular shirt today but have a white tank underneath.
I also go to work and always put on a zipdown fleece... so really anything I wear will be covered up by the fleece.
I think that's why I didn't worry about my short shirt today.
I also need to do laundry. I had some looser shirts that I can be worn.
squash / 13764 posts
@jodyblair: @2littlepumpkins: I actually love the ones with the ruching! They make me look pregnant instead of just fat and bloated. I am struggling with pants, maternity pants keep falling down but with regular pants, you can see that they are unbuttoned through my shirt.
pomegranate / 3516 posts
@hilsy85: Are you doing full panel maternity pants? I had read with my first pregnancy (on HB actually) to layer a tank top underneath the panel to help hold it up until your belly is big enough. I'm not sure what to do about the partial panels because they just make me look weird shaped.
grapefruit / 4066 posts
@hilsy85: same here, love my ticking tops! Make my bump look cute instead of just blah
I just got some bad news (not pregnancy related) and am freaking out My dad has had COPD for 10 years now and his Drs all thought it was from smoking/working conditions. Turns out he just had a genetic test done and he tested positive for some disorder that causes lung failure and liver disease, so now me and my sisters need to get tested as it is passed down. I could either be a carrier (no symptoms) or affected, like my dad. So so so freaked out. I know it's not related to bring pregnant, but I'm just so worried and needed to vent.
squash / 13764 posts
@BelugaBean: hm interesting! I need to get some tank tops I guess. @NovBaby1112: oh no! that is scary I hope that your test and everyone else's comes back ok! Do you know if it is a recessive or dominant gene--i.e. would your mom also need to have passed it down to you for you to be affected?
grapefruit / 4066 posts
@hilsy85: it's recessive, so that's good at least...but my mom needs to get tested to see if she is a carrier. If she's a carrier, our chances of being affected increase a lot, but if she isn't, then we will just be carriers of it. But of course DH will need to get tested too, and praying he isn't a carrier! So many what ifs and uncertainty right now. I have a Drs appt on Monday and am going to ask for the test then.
grapefruit / 4066 posts
@hilsy85: thank you...hoping for the best! Hopefully I will know more in a week or so
grapefruit / 4455 posts
@hilsy85: yeah I think in a smaller size the touching does good but I'm sort of between sizes and if I buy the bigger one it's too much. Plus my bump is still small.
kiwi / 643 posts
@hilsy85: I love the shirts with ruching, too! That's really all I've been wearing lately, all of my regular shirts are just getting too short looking, especially because I have a long torso.
@NovBaby1112: oh no! Fingers crossed that everything's ok.
