I know some of us have been posting inspiration and nursery pics on the main due date thread but I want to start a thread on just our nurseries.

So DH is still working on emptying out our current bedroom (future nursery) and moving the queen bed out and into our other bedroom (future guest bedroom), we won't have our nursery put together probably until after the babies get here. I'm going to buy the cribs next week through Amazon and maybe they'll be assembled before they get here but maybe they won't.
First pic is the fabric I picked out for curtains, bed skirt, crib skirt, lamp shade and pillows that I will DIY once I get out of the hospital. (Blackout curtains are made, thanks to aunt and just need to be hung.) The crib sheets were purchased in the chevron purple and chevron green patterns. I bought extra crib sheets so I could make crib & teething protector out of it.
Second photo are some cute twin quotes that I plan put up as wall art. (My sister will be printing the quotes out on sticky vinyl and I'll put them on scrap book paper and hang.) Same sister created the banner for my baby shower (sorry, had to edit out my last name.) Lastly, my sister made cute party favors where she colored in the 'he' & 'she' on a Hershey's chocolate bar. This is perfect because some of you know that we are from Philadelphia and our dogs names are Hershey and Paulie (from the Rocky movie). I need to find a Hershey's bar print so I can color it in like the favor.
Oh, I ordered some 5'' wooden letters from the craft store and plan to paint them different green & purple patterns. It will be my alphabet wall art (A-Z and 0-1). I ordered the letters and numbers this weekend and they will be shipped to the hospital so I can paint (safe acrylic paint) one or two a day.
Similar to this but I'll be painting the letters.

We're not doing anything because we are moving within DD2's first 2-6 months! I will live vicariously through you all.

@wrkbrk: Thanks. Yeah, I wasn't feeling the whole pink and blue color scheme. Someone here suggested coral and navy blue (which I love) but finding crib sheets in those colors (especially coral) was pricey and difficult. I happen to find chevron green crib sheets on sale for $12.99 on PBK's website and bought a bunch. Then found Target had lavender chevron crib sheets on clearance for $6. It was meant to be, I tell ya!

Here's a few pictures of my nursery so far. I just need to get some of the wall decorations hung up and I think I will be done! The room is supposed to be nautical themed, so hopefully the wall decorations will help with that.

I have a big framed tea towel covered in colourful cupcakes to go over the changing table
I've been debating if getting this decal is going to be "too much" - what do you ladies think?

besides that when we find out on Sunday (!!) what we're having I'll buy wooden letters for the baby's name or monogram

@babycanuck: it looks so bright and clean! I like the decal, but it looks like a pain to put up.
@bluestriped bee: I really like the colors you picked.
@renee0106: did you paint the dresser yourself?

Currently the nursery is a bit of a mess! It doesn't really have a theme. I picked out fabric I liked and went from there. I was going to paint it the same color whether baby was a boy or girl. The rocking chair belonged to DH's great uncle, we made the crib, the toy chest was made by my great grandfather for my mom, and the piece of furniture we are putting the changing pad on is an antique I bought from a client a few years ago. I sewed the curtains, made the quilt, and the growth chart. We got the shelves, little side table, and lamp from Ikea. I'm waiting on a print I ordered to come in the mail and then I'll get the rest of the stuff on the walls. I also need to finish organizing and putting things away. The big stack of clothes is starting to get to me! We're going to buy a mattress for the crib this weekend.

@renee0106: @babycanuck: beautiful!
@babycanuck: on the timing thing... dd used to have a koalas/trees decal and it took a couple hours to put up (with a toddler though, she was 1.5 when we moved there.)
We just did the kids room yesterday, put up the decals, organized, etc. everything. Not quite as matching as some here but with two genders and ages it was a little difficult, but we really like it!

I'm just seeing this thread now! Our nursery is mostly the same (neutral) since we were both times but I will post a few pics. We did get a new glider recliner this time which I am so pumped about!
@bluestriped bee: love the colours! The ABC letters are adorable. How is Dh making out getting it all together?
@renee0106: that rug is gorgeous!! I definitely get the nautical vibe
@babycanuck: I love how bright and fresh the room feels! Gorgeous. we have the same dresser in DDs room and I adore it.

And we replaced the rocker with the glider. It's so much more comfortable.

@Mrs. Pickle: My sister-in-law actually painted the dresser. She did it as a project a few years ago and when she heard what I was doing with my nursery she thought it would go perfectly so she gave it to me. I love the color of your nursery btw, and you've made a lot of cute things!

@Charm54: where did you get the love you pillow?? It's adorable! Not pregnant but had to stalk the cute nurseries

@MenagerieMama: it's a local woman who makes beautiful wool pillows - i have them all over my house, I'm so obsessed with her stuff haha

@renee0106: By the way, my favorite color is blue so I am so jealous of all the blue in your nursery. DH knows when we move back east and buy a house, I will want a blue house, a blue kitchen and a blue bathroom or bedroom. Haha! I'm pretty sure I'll have to tone it down a little.
@babycanuck: I like the decal but yeah, I agree with @Mrs. Pickle: that it might be a pain to hang. But go for it if you want it!
@Mrs. Pickle: I love how it's all coming together! That crib! Your DH did such a great job!!
@Charm54: So the new guest bedroom has that queen bed in it now, so the nursery is now the actual nursery. Just a lot of baby stuff in it now. I will be ordering the cribs from Amazon soon. (I was waiting on Amazon's completion discount and DH finish emptying the two rooms and moving that bed out.) A lot of the decor are mainly things I want to do, so we'll put it together when I'm home. Plus, my sisters are coming out and they can help me. DH will help me too but a lot of it in in tubs so it's easier to do when I'm out. DH will be pulling all the baby stuff out and seeing how many onsies we have and if I need to buy more from fellow twin moms. Oh, we have a twin pack and play where the babies will sleep (in our room) for the first month or two.
Oh, I love your nursery, too. I like the fabric for the curtains and the crib skirt. Love the blue storage bins pull out the blue in the curtains.

I finished painting my ABC wall art.
Now, I need to figure out how I'm going put it up on the wall. Put ribbon on each letter so I can hang it? Or put something like one of those saw tooth clips so it hangs like a picture frame?
pomelo / 5084 posts
@bluestriped bee: That looks SO cute. I saw something really crafty on IG the other day. It was a series of big empty picture frames (maybe 4 of different sizes) arranged over the changing table and the letters were haphazardly arranged inside the frames. It looked fab! I am not describing this well ...
ETA: Kind of like this! Random image from google ...

@bluestriped bee: I would use those saw tooth claw hook things on the back to hang them like pictures in whatever design you choose. They are cute, good idea!

@bluestriped bee: Those came out super cute!
Honestly, I would use command strips. They would probably be more secure and less holes in the wall.
