Wel I feel silly. Betas are sky high. Baby measures right on track. And with no bleeding, they're sending me home. False alarm. I did get to see the baby, which I would have tomorrow anyway. Lol. Baby looks like a tadpole now.
@jaguar: Dildo cam! Lmao! Yes, that's probably all it is. I spot after every ultrasound. You and I need to stop thinking that we're jinxing things!

@jaguar: Olaf looks AMAZING! What champs you both are.
@KrzyRiver: Don't feel silly! I'm glad you went in to get checked out out. And even more glad everything is okay!

Just went for repeat betas (I went for my second round last Wednesday, and they were fine). This is the longest any of my recent pregnancies have lasted, but I am still very nervous.

@winniebee: Thinking of you, girl! Let us know how the numbers are. I'm sure they're great!

@winniebee: Hope you get some good, reassuring numbers!
I'm only 5 weeks and a day but my sleep has been relatively poor. I keep waking up at 5 a.m. Has this happened to anyone else? Is this hormone related?
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Shantuck: that happens to me in all of my pregnancies - very poor restless sleep! I take unisom to overcome it. My OB has approved it.
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@Shantuck: @winniebee: Same. I'm exhausted but can't fall/stay asleep. It's the worst!
pear / 1767 posts
@winniebee: Thanks. Does that seem to help you sleep longer? I'm having no issues falling asleep... just staying asleep.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Shantuck: Yeah - like for example my 14m old woke at 3 and I had to comfort him. It was easy for me to fall back asleep after that.
apricot / 344 posts
@Shantuck: yeah, sleeping for more than about 3 hours at a time has been impossible since about week 5/6 (tomorrow is 8 weeks for me). Mostly because I have to go to the bathroom, not so much the sleep part. I swear I get up about 4 times a night to pee. So frustrating! and I'm not one to fall back asleep quickly. once I'm awake...I'm awake.

Thanks ladies! Glad to know I'm not alone. I'll grab some unisom today and can hopefully get a good night's sleep tonight!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Shantuck: you can try 1/2 tablet and see if that helps!

I'm not feeling any symptoms today other than tiredness, and it's freaking me out. Going by my guesstimated due date, tomorrow is only 6 weeks, so I know there's plenty of time. But, man...these early weeks are tough!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@mfa_lady: I feel fine except some minor nausea/ hunger. I just scrolled through old posts from my last pregnancy and I had symptoms crazy early with DS2. Hard not to compare.....
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@winniebee: I've done the exact same thing. I was napping as soon as I got home from work with DD even BEFORE the day I got a BFP. Ugh, it's so hard! But, maybe this means a boy? Haha. I'll just tell myself that. Three more weeks and I'll know for sure. March 21st sure seems a looooong way away.

@waiting4you: Have you ever tried this for getting back to sleep? http://www.hellobee.com/2015/03/25/newborn-night-wakings-and-mommy-sleep-the-4-7-8-method/
When my son was waking in the middle of the night, I tried this and found it pretty useful.
apricot / 344 posts
@Shantuck: no, I haven't heard of that but will definitely try it tonight! I get about 4 hours of sleep per night these days and that usually broken up into 1 hour or so increments.
I'm fortunate to work from home so I'm able to take a nap or two during the day, but I still feel like a zombie.
Thanks for sharing!!!

My HCG went from 211 last Wednesday to 3004 today (suspected 22 DPO, 5 wk, 1 day)......so, more than doubling. I am really pregnant. Just scheduled my first ultrasound for 3/14.

@mfa_lady: @winniebee: @artsyfartsy: Thanks ladies!
Since the hospital I went to is part of the same system as my RE, she got my ultrasound first thing this morning and I'm officially graduated from my RE. My hubby is bummed cause he didn't get to see the one last night. But I got a good picture for him.
@mfa_lady: At 6 weeks I didn't really have any symptoms either. I was so paranoid all the time because of that. Even now they come and go. When I have morning sickness I'm miserable, but when I don't have it I want it. Lol
@winniebee: Yay! Glad to hear you're out of beta hell. That's the worst part. Lol

@KrzyRiver: Thank you! So nice to hear some reassurance. I'm sure I'll soon be cursing the day I wished for more symptoms....

I just got out of my appointment. It was a mess. Waited for 2 hours for them to just ask me my dates and tell me to come back in 2 weeks. Kind of annoyed they didn't let me just schedule my first appointment AT 8 weeks.
The girl who took my vitals put in the system that I hadn't had a period since July and I had to probe her for my blood pressure and urine results. 🙄
Then they wouldn't schedule me a new appointment since I technically don't have an OB. I'm seeing my old OB's PA because he's gone and she's familiar to me. She just can't deliver obviously. I had to have someone from administration come down and schedule an appointment for 2 weeks from now.
I go back on the 17th for U/S and bloodwork.

@artsyfartsy: That sounds like hell on earth. I'm sorry it was so bad!

@avivoca: Ah it's fine. I'm glad I get to go back at 8 weeks instead of at 10 weeks like with T.
I used to work with the girl who took my vitals. Let's just say I expected something to go wrong. Not even sure how she got that job. I knew when I saw her it was going to be a bad day. Haha

@artsyfartsy: Yikes, sounds rough! Sorry it was a pain--glad you get to go back in a couple of weeks!

Just venting... I really need to stop googling things! Since finding out we are having twins and one was quite a bit smaller than the other (though both had heartbeats), I can't seem to stop thinking about little baby B. I'm trying to wrap my head around life with twins but I'm terrified baby B isn't going to make it. Next u/s is a week from tomorrow (the 9th) and it can't some soon enough. Normally I'm excited but I'm terrified for this one. After trying for so long and going thru IVF twice, losing one is going to be devastating. I know rhere's nothing I can do at this point to help baby B along, but I can't help but "what if" and try to justify the size difference. having a really tough day.
pear / 1767 posts
@waiting4you: I'm sorry. That is really tough. Losing one would be a difficult loss even if there is still another baby to take home. Try not to get ahead of yourself and take it day by day. Crossing my fingers that Baby B is a strong little fighter who plans to stick around!
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@waiting4you: I haven't been in that situation, but I know I'd be a mess too. *hugs* Let's hope that little Baby B has plenty of time to catch up before next week's scan. xx
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@waiting4you: I'm so sorry :(. Is there any way you could get in for another scan this week? Like you, I would be anxiety ridden over it.
persimmon / 1132 posts
@jaguar: So glad to hear your good news! Hooray!
@waiting4you: Ugh! I don't think there's anyway to escape the anxiety for Baby B. I'm adding all of my hope that the little bean goes through a growth spurt before your next scan. I have read that they can go through big growth spurts at this stage!
Here's our bean:
ETA: I'm worried that the gestational sac is small but no one said anything. I have another scan Friday -- 1st OB appt.
apricot / 276 posts
@waiting4you: While I've never had to worry about this with twins, I have had a baby that measured way too small and I feel for you. It's so hard when you're already so in love and you know that you can't do anything to help your baby get to where it needs to be. FX for baby B. Sometimes they get a growth spurt and surprise everyone!
@artsyfartsy: Sorry you had a frustrating fist appointment! Hopefully the time will pass quickly till your US!
@Amorini: Hello little bean! I was kind of worried about my sac too. But my doctor said she always lets patients know if there is something to be concerned about. Hopefully yours does too. But if it's going to cause you anxiety, call and ask. Better to ask than to worry over what might be nothing.
apricot / 344 posts
@Amorini: hi bean!! So cute! Love that all these u/s pics are starting to look like gummy bears instead of tadpoles
Thanks for the support everyone. Reading your encouraging words helped a lot. One day at a time and lots of prayers...that's all we can do
I've been thru a lot in my life, including a traumatic head injury that had me in a coma on life support for a period of time. I mention this because my husband always mentions how strong I am and what a fighter I am. He said today, if baby B has any amount of you in him/her, they'll fight like hell! Made me cry but also gave me strength.
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@waiting4you: Thinking of you, mama. I can't imagine what you're going through--but it sounds like you're VERY strong, and I hope little B is, too! Praying for the very best for your family.
pear / 1767 posts
@Amorini: Wow, looks great! In my experience, when things don't look right, people normally tell you right away. With my losses, both of the ultrasound technicians mentioned what they should have been seeing and weren't, etc. before the doctor even had a chance to interpret. If nobody mentioned a concern with the size of the gestational sac, I would waste your energy worrying about it. Hope your first appointment goes great and puts you at ease!
