October 2016 moms!

Well, I'm going to take it as a sign that babies are doing well considering that was the ROUGHEST night so far, at exactly 8 weeks. Spent the entire night dry heaving and slept with my face in a bucket, for the 30 or so minutes I actually slept. That was no joke. Guess between my breakdown about baby B and last night's sickness my hormones are definitely in overdrive. Sometimes it's funny how the universe works.
Hope everyone is having a good day!

@waiting4you: Right around 8 weeks was the magic number for MS with me too. I was miserable for days. Then I had 2 good days and panicked. Lol. But now I'm miserable again.

I've realized that I will feel awful allllllllll day if don't eat first thing in the morning. Today I slept in until 10 and have been miserable ever since. I need to get up early and eat to feel decent.

6 weeks today! Still sick from last week. Trying to rest and get rid of it.

I keep feeling hungry, walk into the kitchen, gag at the thought of food, go back to the living room and repeat. Ugh. At least no puking yet and my nausea is manageable.

I'm crying at the drop of a hat though. My eyes tear up over the smallest things. It's annoying!!

Still no real symptoms here. Baby, you're making me worry!

  5. winniebee

@jaguar: I'm feeling very normal myself. And my HCG was over 3000 yesterday so I know something is going on....Aside from minor queasiness and a little extra hunger, I'm fine. Though I was a terrible bitch to my husband last night, LOL! I was floored with symptoms with my DS2 by now. Hard to have confidence, but try to.

  6. avivoca

@jaguar: I had very few symptoms with my first pregnancy. I would definitely try not to worry!

  7. Shantuck

    pear / 1767 posts

@winniebee and @jaguar: I don't have many symptoms either other than being a little tired but that can probably be mostly attributed to poor sleep and lack of caffeine. My mantra has been every pregnancy is different (plus I know it is still early). With my miscarriage in December I was much sicker than I was with the pregnancy for my son so clearly there isn't always a correlation.

@waiting4you: @KrzyRiver: @artsyfartsy: (and others) Sorry to the ladies that are feeling so ill!!!!!

@winniebee: @jaguar: @Shantuck: (and others, plus myself): Sorry to the mamma bees that are feeling so nervous!!!!!

On m/s versus none, I guess the grass is greener on the other side!!!! I had two weeks or so of queasiness and only vomited once because I didn't eat right after taking my prenatal vitamin. I also vomited pre-pregnancy with that vitamin! The only things that didn't make me queasy during that time were the most processed, sugary foods on earth: Tollhouse fudge-striped cookies and maple syrupy pancakes. WTF?!

@Shantuck: Thanks for the encouragement about my worries. That makes me feel so much better. You are right -- these medical people are looking at scans every day... and I'll know more soon.

    Wow, got behind!
Hope those with bad m/s catch a break and maybe for those that want to feel sick get a little bit to calm those nerves!!

These first weeks are so hard! No real assurance baby is ok and bad anxiety!

My sleep has been awful and m/s is about a 6 just feel hung over all day!
My go to is a bagel and peanut butter!

  10. jaguar

    pomegranate / 3764 posts

It's really hot here right now, and I'm constantly feeling exhausted. Don't know if it's the heat or the pregnancy!

  11. FaithFertility

    eggplant / 11861 posts

@jaguar: Same! I am so tired I just want to close my eyes 24/7

  12. KrzyRiver

    apricot / 276 posts

@jaguar: I feel exhausted all day and then can't sleep at night! Lol. Today I finally caved and took a nap because I figured it wouldn't matter. I'm not going to be able to fall asleep tonight even if I stay up all day.

I had my first OB appointment today. Nothing really exciting. Pelvic exam and a couple STD tests. She also gave me a quick run down of how things will work over the next couple months. I gotta come back every four weeks. Next week she'll do a genetics test since my husband has a nephew with downs syndrome. And we'll listen to the heartbeat on a doppler next time too.

She was very excited to see me tho! She's been my OB since I was like 20, and she said that me and 3 other patients of hers have had multiple early miscarriages for unknown reasons. But now all 4 of us are pregnant! She's so excited for us all!

  13. FaithFertility

    eggplant / 11861 posts

    @KrzyRiver: how exciting!

  14. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

    @KrzyRiver: That's so awesome!

@Shantuck: @Amorini: with DS1 I barely had any symptoms...just sore boobs and a little extra hungry! DS2 I had a much harder time. They are both perfectly healthy so I know symptoms don't mean much for me. Plus, tonight all I could stomach was ginger ale and plain lays...so that's gotta be good, right?

I also feel perpetually hungover! I went grocery shopping this morning and nearly vomited all over the fruit aisle -- the smell of fruit disgusts me...smells rotten! I'm hoping this m/s ends soon because I'm just sluggish and getting nothing done! Congratulations to all the other October 2016 moms-to-be!

@Paddington10: That would make me so sad! I love the smell of fruit this pregnancy! I could totally snack on all of it at the store. But the smell of butter just makes me feel ill. My husband cooks everything of his in a little bit of butter and I can't stand it.

How far along? 8 weeks yesterday

Have you had an ultrasound? Yes, probably 15, including 2 in the hospital, since we found out, but only 4 or so of those have been far enough along to see "something"

Next ultrasound: Wednesday (9 weeks) and then first OBGYN appointment with a new Dr. The following Tuesday (the 14th)

Current symptoms: m/s at night and in morning. Some terrible headaches the last few days. Hate almost all food.

Current mood: anxious. Thankful. Cautiously optimistic.

Do we plan to announce? We've told immediate family and close friends/couples who knew we were doing IVF again. Only 3 of my girlfriends know that I'm currently carrying twins We plan to tell everyone via Facebook around the 12 week mark.

Guess on the sex: if baby B hangs on, I'm thinking one of each. Have a feeling baby A is a boy. We'll find out early via blood test and plan to do a gender reveal and possibly a twin surprise gender reveal once we have results.

How far along are you?: 8 weeks 4 days

Have you had an ultrasound?: I've had 3

When is next ultrasound?: Probably the anatomy scan? Not sure....

Current symptoms: All day morning sickness and insomnia

    Current mood: Exhausted

Do you plan to announce? When?: To extended family in about a week or two. To everyone else on Easter Sunday. I'll be 12 weeks

Guess on the sex: I think boy. But I wonder if I'm just convincing myself of that because we both really want a girl. Lol

@whiskers: good idea on the survey...I've been quiet lately because there hasn't been much to report

How far along are you?: 8w1d

Have you had an ultrasound?: no

When is next ultrasound?: next Thursday! 3/10

Current symptoms: mainly just tired and sore boobs. I threw up for the first time a couple nights ago, but that could've been from taking my prenatals on an empty stomach. I've actually had a decreased appetite, and lately when I'm hungry I can't think of anything that sounds appetizing

Current mood: super excited/anxious for the ultrasound next week

Do you plan to announce? When?: I've told 3 close friends. We'll probably tell our parents after the ultrasound next week, and everyone else on Easter or after we get back from vacation in mid-April

Guess on the sex: no idea...boy?

  26. mfa_lady

    @whiskers: Great idea.

How far along are you?: My best guess is 6w1d. We'll find out for sure in a few weeks.

Have you had an ultrasound?: Nope. Not yet!

When is next ultrasound?: March 21st will be our first one. Praying it goes well!

Current symptoms: Tired, upset stomach in the mornings, bloated.

Current mood: Worn out, overwhelmed, excited. So, #allthethings? Ha.

Do you plan to announce? When?: Our parents know already, and we'll tell our siblings after the first US if everything looks good. We'll tell everyone else after the first trimester.

Guess on the sex: No idea! There's a tiiiiiiiny little part of me that thinks boy, but my husband is convinced we're going to have all girls. Who knows!

So I think I just had my first run in with round ligament pain. Any 2nd or 3rd time moms have any advice/info on this? This was a terrible sharp cramp by my right pelvic bone that had me squatting down on the kitchen floor and crying. Finally calmed down enough to take some Tylenol and lay down, and have been better since. From what I've read this doesn't really happen till the 2nd trimester. If that's the case, it's awfully early for this to be happening.

  28. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@waiting4you: I've been having it, too! And I'm only 6 weeks pregnant! It happens if I move/turn really quickly, or if I sneeze. I've heard it can happen a lot earlier the second or third time around.

@waiting4you: It happens earlier with subsequent pregnancies, but I'm fairly certain it isn't completely unusual for a FTM this early. Staying hydrated is the only advice I've heard.

Have you had an ultrasound?: Yeah, weekly ones. Paranoia/bleeding/previous loss.
When is next ultrasound?: Wednesday 9th March
Current symptoms: Tired and, er, digestive issues.
Current mood: Worried, I want to see the baby again. I'm so scared something will be wrong.
Do you plan to announce? When?: Most folks know already, but none of this will feel real until after the 12 week testing/scans.
Guess on the sex: I can't imagine guessing... seems silly, I know, but I honestly can't picture baby as anything more than a wee embryo at this point. I have NO idea.
