@KrzyRiver: that's why i really loved lucies list. It was kind of like a cheat sheet for if you get really overwhelmed

Ugh. I totally just don't feel pregnant. It makes me so nervous. My nausea and food aversions were even gone today. Not tired. Not puking. My super smell is the only thing hanging on. I felt like I had every symptom with my first. I hope it's just not being able to focus much on the pregnancy like last time so the symptoms just aren't as obvious.

US in just 2 weeks. So nervous. I'm counting on this baby already and I hope it's growing well.

Any advice for terrible headaches other than Tylenol? The last 24 hours have been miserable! Drinking lots of water and Gatorade and trying to rest. Doesn't seem to help though

@artsyfartsy: Hang in there! It's so hard waiting in the unknown. Hoping all the best for you and your bean.

@waiting4you: I had migraines pre-pregnancy so, short of 800 mg of ibuprofen (which is, of course, not an option!), my suggestion is a hot water bottle on your neck and/or any part of your head that feels good. If you are having a tension headache, it might help to put it on your neck. If you having more of a ocular / sinus headache, heat on the forehead or the cheeks might feel good. Basically, just gets the blood moving! I have been getting headaches here and there these last few nights and this is what I have been doing. The OB would probably say Tylenol, but it has never done anything for me for headache. Hope some heat helps give you some relief.

@waiting4you: caffeine and Tylenol followed by a long nap. I also find that rubbing my neck and shoulders helps a lot because if they are tight, I'm going to have a headache.

ETA: I agree with the previous poster. Heat! It helps so much. I love my rice sock. It's a sock full of dry rice that I hear in the microwave for 30 second bursts until it is hot enough. The warmth lasts forever.

@KrzyRiver: Great question about resources for researching products! I am also without close girlfriends around me who have been recently preggo.

@winniebee: @shantuck; @bunbun: Thanks for sharing these links, tips, etc.!

@jaguar: Ouch, sciatica! I had one episode of shooting pain earlier this week ... haven't felt that in so long. Hope you feeling okay! Thinking of you.

AFM, 10w today! We had the first OB appt yesterday. All is well and the u/s image was a better screen that at the RE so I felt like we could see SO much more. I saw the hb from across the room. Everything is "perfect" at the moment and right on track. Holy moly. Now no more scans until 20 weeks! That is going to feel like an eternity after bimonthly scans the last month.

Also I learned that the hospital I would want to deliver at (if I chose that route) is very mamma friendly and not rigid in their policies. I am feeling better that I could have a natural birth in that setting and have the great OB care leading up to it. I will tour the midwife center tomorrow and meet with the CNM (home birth option) later in the week just to cover the bases. I need to get on finding a doula! Apparently 10 weeks is not too early to do this and many doulas are filling up for October! Crazy.

I guess my next step is Materniti21 testing. Anyone else out there getting that or another NIPT? @winniebee: I think you mentioned it. Have you or anyone else done it with prior pregnancies? How long until results are in?

@Amorini: @avivoca: thanks ladies!! Will try the heat for sure. While normally I hate when hubby is on shift, today with this headache it's kinda nice knowing I can lay in the cold/dark/quiet for the next 24 hours uninterrupted.

@waiting4you: it sounds hokey but I've had luck with acupuncture helping with headaches. Maybe that's a last resort idea if it hangs around awhile.

So I had a huge bleed yesterday and ended up in ER last night. Another one, man. Just horrific. Waited around for hours and they finally got me scanned - the world's oldest u/s machine and through the belly, not internally.

Somehow baby is still hanging on, but because of the bleed and the cramping, they're deeming it a threatened miscarriage. Just have to rest at home.

Ohhhh my rest rest, I am so sorry!
Prayers all is and will be OK!!!!

@jaguar: praying for you and that sweet bean. I can only imagine how stressful that was, and to have a crappy ER visit on top of it surely has you frazzled. Definitely rest and hopefully you have someone who can bring you everything you need. Sending big hugs.

    Finally checking back in!
How far along: 9 weeks 1 days
Have you had an US: not yet
    Next US: Thursday
Current symptoms: gagging when brushing teeth, so hungry then I eat two bites and I'm full, so tired.
Current mood: pretty good, although a bit in disbelief I'll have 2 babies by the end of the year.

Do you plan to announce? When? Well we've already told family, close friends, work... So we basically have. I'm not really one for a big social media announcement.
Guess on the sex: boy, mainly because we already have a girl.

@jaguar: Praying for you! My spotting was also deemed a threatened miscarriage. Actually, my cramping and spotting with H was classified that as well. It's super scary, but try to remain positive.

@Amorini: Yay, glad to hear you had a great first appointment and everything is looking good!

@jaguar: Praying for you. I know how stressful this all is and I hope you're able to rest and get some answers soon. Don't forget to follow up with your doctor in a couple days. *Hugs*

@Miss Ariel: I've been gagging when I brush my teeth too! Lol. What a weird reaction. I can't stand the taste of our toothpaste anymore either.... it tastes metallic? Or almost like burnt coffee? So weird....

  19. Miss Ariel

    nectarine / 2210 posts

@KrzyRiver: last time is switched to toms of Maine mango flavored toothpaste but haven't needed to yet this time. Supposedly my mom had issues brushing her teeth while pregnant. It also one of the reason I suspected I was pregnant both times.

So scared. I hope this baby is a fighter.

We are scheduled to see OB for a scan on Wednesday. I'll ring first thing Monday to see if he can get me in any earlier. The hospital recommended follow up 48 hours from bleed.

@jaguar: oh sh*t. I'm so sorry for this scare. Glad to hear Olaf is still there and there is a hb, but I'm just so sorry you are going through this and have to wait until Monday for more info. Would it help to put yourself on bed rest until then or would that just make you crazier? Sending hugs and tons of stickiness.

@jaguar: Praying for you. Hope the rest helps calm things down.

I spent the evening at urgent care with my 3 year old. He had a fever of 104 and tested positive for influenza A plus an ear infection (despite getting the flu mist). The doc recommended my husband and i also get tamiflu prescriptions as a preventative measure until I mentioned I was pregnant. I called my doc and she said it was my choice. I think I'm just going to ride it out and call if it looks like I'm coming down with it too. I have Tylenol on hand and have taken my temp a dozen times already.

It just started back up again. Probably not going to bother going back to hospital so will just have to ride it out at home.

@Shantuck: Wow, what a mess! I hope that your son starts to feel better quickly and that you guys don't get it too! I had the flu in 2010 and I remember how awful it is.

@jaguar: I'm praying so hard for you and Olaf, Jag.

    How's everyone else feeling today??

My MS is at its worst today. No throwing up, just constant nausea. I was up until 5am with it. Woke up around noon and could barely move without stirring it up again. So hubby made me a PB&J and I ate it in bed before passing back out until 3pm. Now I'm on the couch sucking on preggie pops and saltines and trying not to move. I hate myself for wishing for more symptoms. Lol

Wondering if any of you October moms have gone off of SSRIs during the first trimester. I was on medication for anxiety but opted to go off as soon as I learned I was pregnant. Not sure if my moodiness is due to lack of meds or normal hormones and emotions. Anyone?

@KrzyRiver: I just had my first pregnancy puke. Yuck
Overall I feel like my body is breaking down from the inside out. Sick toddler and no sleep lately have made it worse. Ugh

You should be careful what you wish for when you ask for pregnancy symptoms!
