@KrzyRiver: Today (7w exactly) is the worst I've felt - constant nausea, bad headache and just had the experience of nearly throwing up at the grocery store. Glad I didn't, but was so dizzy/lightheaded that I had to sit down in the pharmacy section (the only bench I could find) for twenty minutes until I felt that I could check out and drive home safely. Back in bed now, wishing I could get a weekend re-do!
Emotionally, I'm really anxious about how I am going to make it through the next week at work. With my symptoms ramping up, the thought of commuting and meetings and coworkers seems so daunting. Not sure I'll be able to hide how gross I feel.

As I am now almost past the point that I lost a previous baby, I've decided to officially join the board...
Location: San Francisco Bay Area
EDD: 10/5 (another October baby!)
How far along: 9 weeks
First child? Nope, #4. I have 12 year old twin boys and a 2 year old boy.
First doctor appointment: Had it on 2/23. After a scare involving some weird pain (diagnosis: scar tissue attempting to stretch), I had my first officially doctor's appointment. They did an ultrasound because of my pain and previous miscarriage. Everything looks great. And there's only one in there! Next appointment 4/5.
Any symptoms so far? All day nausea (per my norm), faitgue, burning/stabby pain localized near right ovary (scar tissue), food aversions, insomnia... The usual
Who have you told? DH obviously, most of my local friends, my FB friends from the October 2013 board. Toddler and I are flying in Indiana to visit family in a few weeks. We will tell everyone else and DH's family then.

@artsyfartsy: That sucks. I haven't puked....yet. Lol. Sorry you're exhausted. Hope the little one feels better soon and you can get some sleep!
@TapDancer: Oh man, I can't imagine trying to get trough work feeling like this. Especially if you're trying to keep it quiet. Get some preggie pops and keep them in your purse! Maybe that will help some.
@TFrances: Congrats and welcome! I'm very jealous you live in the Bay Area. Lol. My parents are from there. We try and visit San Fransisco any time we're in CA visiting family.

So I couldn't get in to my OB today.. so I went to GP and sobbed in her arms for about 10 minutes, lol. It's been an emotional weekend. She wrangled a scan for me at the local imaging place, through belly, and somehow, baby is still hanging in there. We pick up images later but man... how this kid is surviving all of this bleeding, I have no idea.

@jaguar: That is wonderful news!!! I'm so sorry that you are going through all of this.
apricot / 276 posts
@jaguar: I had a friend who bled off and on the entire 9 months and her son is 6 now. Not spotting, but almost like a period that would stop and start every few days. I hope you don't go through that, but it's possible baby will be just fine. Just take care of yourself and try not to stress. I know that's easier said than done. *Hugs*

Thanks for putting up with my crazy, you guys. After IVF and losses I was going to be a nervous wreck already... But this little one is keeping me on my toes.
8w2d & heart rate of 160. The first ultrasound where it actually looks like a baby!

@LovelyPlum: Hahaha. You probably didn't! I wasn't on any POAS boards. We were NTNP, and then the birth of my adorable nephew seems to have coincided perfectly with ovulation, so....baby #2, here we come!

@jaguar: so happy to see olaf looking good! you are so strong and so is this little bean. Praying for you both.
Starting to get anxious about our appointment on Wednesday morning. Preparing myself to possibly not see baby B, though with the amount of symptoms and sickness I'm dealing with...I wouldn't be surprised if baby b is holding strong and has caught up. Counting down the hours till we find out!

@faithfertility: I'm well, thanks! I hope these nine months go smoothly for you!
@mfa_lady: eek!!
@Paddington10: I peeked in to check on Jag, but I saw your question and wanted to chime in. I was on and off SSRIs during my pregnancy with my now almost 2 year old DD. Can I ask why you decided to stop them? Did you wean, or go cold turkey? What does your doctor say?
Obvi, everyone is different, but my experience was of weaning, then going completely off, then going back on when it was clear I did not do well without them. My OB said they were ok until the 3rd tri, and even then were often the right decision to be on them for moms who needed them. For my next pregnancy, I know for sure that I will be staying on my meds, because I do not function well without them.
All that to say, take care of your health, as well as babe's. Baby needs you to be well, so it's worth a talk with your doctor to discuss. SSRIs are not completely contraindicated during pregnancy, and going cold-turkey off meds is almost always a bad idea. Even when I tapered the doseages down, I had horrid side effects coming off of the meds-crap sleep, constant headaches, bouts of light-headedness, and these electrical pulses that felt like shocks, on top of increased anxiety and depression.
Take care of yourself, and good luck!
(OK, October Mamas, I'll leave you all be )

So I'm pretty sure I just discovered what is sure to be my first craving.....Dunkin donuts hash browns!!!! I ordered 2 because I was starving and my husband was getting gas at a station with a Dunkin. I ate them in about 30 seconds and almost want to go back out and get more!!!
Anyone else starting to find things that don't make them sick, and might actually crave?
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@waiting4you: pickles and plain lays potato juice. I just drank some pickle juice straight from the jar.
watermelon / 14467 posts
@waiting4you: CARBS. I adore french fries, even more so when pregnant.
So, pregnant woman problem. I cut some onions and stuck what was left in a plastic container in my fridge (all my pyrex was taken up). Now my fridge stinks and opening it makes me want to puke, but all my food is in there. IS THERE NO MERCY???? Even my milk tasted faintly of onions. I can't wait for my husband to get home and throw out the offending onion. Until then, I just hold my breath and get in and out as fast as possible.
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@waiting4you: For me, it's #allthewhitecarbs. Ha! Tater tots, pasta, etc. Loving it all right now. Was the same with my daughter. Also, anything I can get to QUICKLY. It's tough for me to choke food down, and so when I feel like eating, I need to do it fast. Usually means I eat a lot of gross stuff like Chef Boyardee. Ha! I'm trying to stock the house with fruit and peanut butter instead.
apricot / 344 posts
Lol, oh the carbs!!! I've been pretty lucky that everything I'm willing to eat has been healthy for the most part... Strawberries, avocado, salad, corn, cereal, protein shakes, soup broth. Today was a game changer
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@waiting4you: Ha! When I was pregnant with my daughter, I told a friend that I wasn't having any aversions, etc. I was about five weeks along. A week later, my daily green smoothie suddenly made me want to hurl, and I ate Beefaroni for the next 3 months. Ew, right? Hoping I can do a little better this time.
watermelon / 14467 posts
I ate a basket of bread for lunch.
A basket.
Of bread.
I regret nothing.
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@winniebee: Yesssssssss. My daughter was grown from Beefaroni--and she's perfectly fine. Yahoo!
@avivoca: Own it, girl. OWN THAT BREAD.
apricot / 344 posts
@avivoca: YES!!!!! No judging here, can assure you of that! If I get desperate I may take cues from you others and give the beef a roni a shot!
cherry / 246 posts
@avivoca: LOL, that sounds right up my alley. Even pre-pregnancy I am with you - carbs are my friend and some of the only things that don't totally repulse me. I am also really into ice-cold lemonade and OJ, two things I hardly ever drink normally. I am avoiding co-workers' invitations to lunch like the plague - I need to snack on my oyster crackers and ginger ale in private, for sure.
Does anyone else subscribe to Blue Apron (or a similar service)? We absolutely love it, but had to recently put it on hold for several weeks. The food is normally great, but I can't stomach it right now - and definitely can't be locked into what's for dinner...I am definitely in a "only eat what I can handle at this exact moment" stage.
persimmon / 1132 posts
You ladies are cracking me up with your Beefaroni! Here's my cravings list ... basically, anything with the word donut in it. My mom ate a whole dozen Dunkins several times while pregnant with me, so that is my justification. I was grown from donuts.
- Entemann's Chocolate Frosted Donuts
- Dunkin Donuts
- Starbucks Old Fashioned Glazed Donuts
Non-donut related cravings:
- Frozen waffles and maple syrup (at least 3 frozen waffles)
- Frosted Mini Wheats (2 bowls)
- Salty foods mixed with my sugary white carbs. Like pretzels or chips!
So fun to eat! And good to know that generations of babies can be healthy anyway...er..right?
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@Amorini: Oooooh, YES. We bought some Lime Tostitos this weekend and I cruuuuushed them. Haha!
pomegranate / 3921 posts
Anybody else figuring out how pregnant you'll be at various milestones/times throughout the year? We have EIGHT weddings this year (one already happened, one is post-baby) and I'm in three of them. I'm a bridesmaid in two, and reading in the third. I haven't told any of the brides yet--kind of waiting until my ultrasound before I break the news.
apricot / 344 posts
@mfa_lady: I wish I had the half empty bag of lime Tostitos to show!!! I did the same thing...family size! Eek!
watermelon / 14467 posts
@mfa_lady: Yes. I'll be huge during our vacation season, so we aren't going on any vacations because the thought of flying or driving long distance after 30 weeks sounds horrendous.
apricot / 344 posts
@mfa_lady: 3 weddings here. One when I'm 16 weeks, the other at17 weeks and one 3 weeks after baby arrives. I bought a dress in December that I knew had some room in it, but didn't take into account the twin factor. Figure I'll just wait till a week or two before and find anything decent that will fit at the time. Luckily not in any of the weddings, though my husband is in 2 of them!
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@waiting4you: SO. GOOD.
@avivoca: I flew to New Orleans to be in my friend's wedding at 28 weeks last time. It ended up okay, but my happy time was 28 - 34 weeks last time. Who knows how it'll be this time, since I'm 6 weeks pregnant and already bloated like none other.
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@waiting4you: Yes, the clothes for weddings are so tough! I think I have some stuff from the first time around that will work, but the bridesmaids dresses are going to be a you-know-what. I guess I'll have to buy huge sizes and have them tailored?!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@mfa_lady: not really .....I'm just feeling thankful this baby would be here before the holidays and I can enjoy wine and champagne
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@winniebee: Such a good point. Although, I must say...I had a little of both the week before my daughter was born in 2014. Ha! Not a lot, of course, but I just couldn't help myself. (She was born just after New Year's!)
persimmon / 1132 posts
At my first OB appointment on Friday, they told me to not travel after 8/1 (so at 32 weeks) with a due date of 10/1. I was surprised a whole 8 weeks of labor watch. Is that normal?
No weddings here, but DH and I desperately need a whole week off and a dreamy and memorable babymoon. I'm very hesitant to give up any of my few paid days off since my leave will likely be all unpaid. WWYD? Will we regret more not saving the PTO for baby or not having the pre-baby relaxation time?
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
So I did think about one milestone. I'll be 13weeks when we are scheduled to go to Grand Cayman. With my whole family including siblings and grandparents nieces etc. Been planned for a year. No Zika there but we are on edge watching for it....trying not to think about having to cancel!
