Well guys, just had a SUPER awkward meeting at work. Sitting in with my team (15 people), my boss announced that we'd had a huge YOY growth year last year and that we should celebrate. He continued on to pour champagne for everyone, and said as he handed me one: "This is how we know who's pregnant, you know!"
I took one sip and faked a couple more. The rest of my team finished their entire glasses....YIKES.

@jaguar: @waiting4you: Yes to the digestive issues. First thing in the morning for me. Ugh.

@mfa_lady: LMAO! That's hilarious! It's always so hard to hide it from people you see all the time, especially if alcohol is involved.

@KrzyRiver: I mean, seriously! How was I supposed to know that would be an issue at 3PM ON A THURSDAY AT THE OFFICE? Haha.

@mfa_lady: LOL! Awkward!! Yeah, I look legit pregnant all day. I have showed early my two boys, especially my second, but this is ridiculous!

@takethelongway: ohhh I'm so very sorry!
Many healing prayers!

How far along are you?: 8weeks 3 days
Have you had an ultrasound?: Yep
When is next ultrasound?: I don't think I'll have another until 20 weeks
Current symptoms: Extremley tired, food adversions and nausea
Current mood: Tired...lol but excited
Do you plan to announce? When?: Soon probably, I feel like I'm showing already
Guess on the sex:
I've dreamed girl a few times!

How far along are you?: 6w5d
Have you had an ultrasound?: Not yet.
When is next ultrasound?: 8w2d on 3/15. I am counting down the days. Ready for hopeful reassurance and I'd really like to let my parents in on the news at that time.
Current symptoms: Not horrible, but general queasiness all day long. Not interested in most foods except for cold fruit and goldfish. Debilitating migraines every few days that are my real struggle right now. Otherwise, a bit more tired than usual. And really crazy dreams!
Current mood: The anxiety has ebbed a bit, but I'm sure it will ramp up again as I get closer to my first ultrasound. I am trying to stay busy but often have moments of "is this really happening?" It's feels like 50% wonder and 50% fear.
Do you plan to announce? When?:I plan to tell my parents at 8w. Will tell other family and close friends after 12w.
Guess on the sex: No feelings one way or the other. Haven't allowed my brain to go too far down that thought path yet.

@mfa_lady: That escalated quickly.
@takethelongway: I'm so sorry for your loss.
I think this baby is preparing me (again) for the newborn days of being up all night. Thankfully, it was only a couple of hours, but I am still miserable today.
Also, is anyone having issues with their hands/arms falling asleep? If I sleep on my sides or have anything in my arms, I wake up with one or both hands/arms asleep and it's really annoying. The only position that doesn't do that is sleeping on my back, which is not going to work after a few months.

@winniebee: @lilyann: @Paddington10: @FaithFertility: @avivoca: I know, right? Thanks for the commiseration. This guy is known for saying inappropriate stuff like that, but damn. What impeccable timing, huh?

@mfa_lady: OMG! I would have turned bright red. Sounds like you played it off pretty well.
@avivoca: So sorry you are up in the middle of the night. I am having unrestful sleep these last few days and that is bad enough. No experience with the numbness, unless I get myself really curled up and then it happens whether I'm pregnant or not. Maybe you are just contorting yourself in strange ways once you finally fall asleep?
So, so tired. I fell asleep before 7 pm last night and I'm still totally wiped out.

@Amorini: Thank you! It was super weird.
@avivoca: @Amorini: I'm not sleeping well, either. Was up, wide awake, at 4AM today. Granted, I fell asleep at 9 last night, but it's still the worst. I'm also getting bad back cramps which is one reason I'm having trouble staying asleep.

@takethelongway: I am so sorry
@mfa_lady: wow! So awkward. You had more grace under pressure than me - not sure I could have remained straight faced! I am waiting for the day the beans get spilled at work - I'm pretty close to some of my coworkers and think they are going to catch on to my new love for ginger ale soon! LOL.

@TapDancer: Well, I "stayed cool," but I'm pretty sure everybody figured me out anyway. My team is made of almost all people of child-bearing age, and we're always sharing baby pic/vids/etc...and they're on the lookout for me anyway because they know I have baby fever. Ha! I'm trying to pretend nobody noticed that I was the only one who didn't finish my drink...but I'm not super optimistic. I have a feeling when I actually announce I'll get a "yeah, we know..." response.

@avivoca: yes! my arms are falling asleep every night when I sleep on my side. I can often be found at 2 AM waving my arms back-and-forth trying to regain feeling! Guess it's a change in blood circulation with pregnancy thing?

How far along are you?: 8w3d
Have you had an ultrasound?: Yesterday!
When is next ultrasound?: 1 month
Current symptoms: Ugg, all day nausea, but it ebbs and flows and I have good days and bad days. I definitely have to eat a cracker or something first thing in the AM and then some breakfast or the day is ruined. Nights are the worst though! I only seem to get sick at night and brushing my teeth is a daily gamble. I also only seem to be able to eat food that I don't cook (that night). And the entire grocery store smells bad to me. I currently hate all food on sight, so I just close my eyes and eat what I can
Current mood: Kind of annoyed that I'm missing out on the "joy". I'm so tired and sick that it's hard to get excited. I just don't feel like myself at all. I hope I start to feel better and *excited* soon!!
Do you plan to announce? When?:. We've told our parents and some co-workers (who would notice that things are "off"). We'll wait to tell everyone until 10-12 weeks
Guess on the sex: I was having thoughts of both, so I was sure it was twins! But, just one bean, so I guess I don't know yet
cherry / 246 posts
@mfa_lady: ah yes, it's definitely hard to keep the secret when everyone is "on the lookout" for you. At my wedding several years ago one of my good friends was clearly pretending to drink. We all let her keep her secret of course, but years later we mentioned that we totally knew. She couldn't believe it: "I thought I was being so sneaky!" she said. Hehe She was grateful we didn't call her out, and I hope my friends do the same for me if they suspect something's up... I am not good on the spot!

@TapDancer: While I'm so sorry you are experiencing this, I'm glad it's not just me! My husband is getting tired of me always elbowing him to get the toddler in the night because I can't feel my hands.

@whiskers @winniebee @lilyann @krzyriver @mfa_lady Thank you all so much!
@amorini-Thank you I will check out that thread. I think I'm healing ok and I do want to move forward, but also recognize that I need some time.

@avivoca: Oh yes, my hands go numb all the time. It happened in my last pregnancy too. I have carpal tunnel and pregnancy makes it so much worse.

How far along are you?: 5 weeks 4 days
Have you had an ultrasound?: Not yet.
When is next ultrasound?: I will probably go in around the 8 or 9 week mark.
Current symptoms: Just fatigue and a little lightheadedness and mild nausea on occasion.
Current mood: I'm pretty chill. I'm nervous after two back to back losses but I know that worry isn't going to change the outcome.
Do you plan to announce? When?: With my history, I won't believe this is legit until I see a heartbeat and pass the genetic screening tests.
Guess on the sex: I keep thinking that it will be a girl but I'm guessing that is only because I already have a son...

How far along are you?: 6 weeks 2 days
Have you had an ultrasound?: Not yet
When is next ultrasound?: 17th
Current symptoms: Nausea, food aversions (can't eat anything), hormonal/weepy
Current mood: Pretty good! No throwing up and I've not been overly tired so it's been nice
Do you plan to announce? When?: Yes. After our ultrasound
Guess on the sex: This pregnancy has been completely different than my first so far so maybe it's a girl, but I can't stop picturing another boy!

Any 2nd (3rd/4th/5th) time moms know a good website that would be helpful as I start researching products for my registry?
Hubby and I won't be having a shower (no family or friends nearby) so we'll be buying most everything ourselves. So we'd like to get started. But I'm a 1st time mom and hubby hasn't done this in almost 16 years. Lol. So looking at car seats/strollers/etc everything looks the same and we don't know what the hell to buy!

@KrzyRiver: I've been looking on Pregnant Chicken http://www.pregnantchicken.com/ and Lucie's List http://www.lucieslist.com/ for ideas. I would love to hear what 2nd or 3rd time mamas think of their lists

@KrzyRiver: The Baby Bargains book was my bible with my first. It isn't just a book for finding deals. It actually has product reviews, sample registries, etc. I buy it for every close friend or family member when they announce that they are expecting. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1889392499/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1?pf_rd_p=1944687602&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=1889392405&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0HZTC8T5QM3MPDN0KDTV

Morning guys. I think I'm getting sciatic pain already. Only 8w! I have these shooting pains and numbness around my lower back/left butt & leg.. I had to sleep with a pillow wedged in between my legs. Gah.
No other symptoms, really though... so gah, same nerves as normal.

@BUNBUN: @winniebee: @Shantuck: Thanks ladies! I will definitely check these out! I'm feeling very overwhelmed as I try to start my registry! Lol

@KrzyRiver: I should note that the Baby Bargains book comes out with a new edition each April. If you buy it, make sure you are getting the latest because the product reviews are what make this book particularly useful.
