Guys. I just ate 3/4 of a bag of Cheetos puffed.
I think I might die.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@mfa_lady: WE ARE TWINS. My son conned me into getting the mini bags at the grocery store and I just ate a small bag. But they were the puffed kind, not the *real* cheetos which are crunchier and therefore must be less healthy?
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@winniebee: Yes, I am over here pretending that 3/4 of a bag of the puffed kind must be equivalent to like only one serving of the real, crunchy Cheetos. HAHAHA. Nice try, I know. But I mean....desperate times, right?

Love reading all these posts! So far today I had yogurt, mint chip ice cream and now some Mac and cheese from trader joes.
On another note, I know quite a few of us have appointments tomorrow thru early next week. Hope everyone gets positive news and no extra stress for anyone. I know I'm more anxious than excited for my appointment tomorrow morning but will be glad when it's over and we have information, one way or another. ️

I had my first appointment today. Nothing too exciting to report, although they do give out this cool new pregnancy journal I was excited for. Ha! I did get to hear the heartbeat though which was around 150. The pushed my US back two weeks so I'll be just short of 12 weeks that way they can see more.
As for cravings it's been juice for me which I rarely drink otherwise. It's just so refreshing right now! Maybe a sign I need to be eating more fruits?

@Miss Ariel: that's great you got to hear the HB! How far along are you?
apricot / 344 posts
question - when did every start to/get to hear the heartbeat? we saw both of them at our 7 week 2 day appointment but didn't get to hear. Tomorrow is 9 weeks exactly. Any chance we'll get to heart tomorrow or too early? Also, for my IVF peeps, did you get to hear at your RE or did you have to wait till you were seeing your OB? Tomorrows appointment is with the RE and it's "graduation day". First OB appointment is Tuesday afternoon.

Hahah the cravings are so funny! I wanted a DD doughnut this morning soo bad
@Miss Ariel: Yay, I love hearing the heartbeat!!!!!
@waiting4you: I'll hear it at our 12 week apt and then every time after that! We saw it at my 7 week scan!
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@waiting4you: I got to hear at OB, we heard at 6.5 weeks and again yesterday at 8w2. =D
@FaithFertility: Breathing! One day at a time. How are you hun?
I just wandered my local grocery store for about 15 minutes aimlessly and nothing sounded good. Eventually walked out with grapes, a bottle of juice and a plain packet of salted chips. #boring

@waiting4you: I heard mine today at 10 weeks 3/5 days. It was competing with mine, but we heard it.
I had my last hurrah meal today. I've already had a meal that made me feel awful(glucose was 150 after 2 hours), so my midwife is recommending that I start following the GD diet. So H and I got Chick-fil-A for dinner and I start my new diet tomorrow. Womp womp.

@waiting4you: like hear via Doppler? I've only ever heard it at my 12 week visit. I remember they tried both times at my 8 week appointment but it was too early to hear via Doppler. However I had ultrasounds at 6.5 weeks with both of my boys and we could see the heartbeat and the ultrasound tech was able to measure it.
pomegranate / 3764 posts
Oh, sorry, I didn't mean doppler - we heard it through the OB's u/s machine! Doppler wasn't until 11-12 weeks with G, I think?
persimmon / 1132 posts
@waiting4you: I haven't heard the hb yet at either the RE or OB. Just saw it all my scans (6w, 9w and almost 10w). My next scan is at 20 weeks so hopefully then!
apricot / 344 posts
@winniebee: @jaguar: @avivoca: thanks ladies. I wasn't sure exactly how you heard it since this is first time. Seems like the u/s machine at my RE's is crap, so I doubt we'll be measuring heartbeat or getting to hear, but wishful thinking I guess. Most likely will get a clearer u/s and/or hear it at the OB appointment just shy of 10 weeks.
persimmon / 1132 posts
@waiting4you: My RE's u/s machine was crap, too! They didn't measure the hb, saying that the machine didn't do that. I got the hb rate at my almost 10w OB appt. Good luck with graduation day!!

@jaguar: Good to hear! I'm OK tired but this week I seem a little more chipper!!!
All day nausea off and on, I just eat what I can when I can!

@winniebee: @waiting4you: I'll be 10 weeks Friday and I heard it today with a Doppler. They weren't going to do it at first, but the nurse suggested it. I guess because I'm tiny it's easier to hear?
They didn't give me an official heart rate either, just the doctor said it sounded around 150.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Miss Ariel: that's great! The only times they ever tried with me was at 8 weeks and I never heard it. I'm small too so they always thought well maybe but nope!

@waiting4you: I heard the HB during my ultrasound at the OB yesterday, at 9w1d. It was the coolest sound -- first timer here

I'm on mobile so it's hard for me to catch up on everything that I missed. But I hope everyone had a good day today!
We had a cautiously exciting day. I'm 9 weeks 2 days today. Our last pregnancy was announced failed at 9 weeks and I had my D&C at 9 weeks 1 day. So we're over our big emotional hurdle. Now to just get over the 1st trimester hurdle. Lol.
I did cave and buy a Doppler. Should be here Friday according to tracking. I'll be 9 weeks 5 days then. Hopefully I'll hear something good. I won't let it bother me if I don't though.

No update from me. Just feeling yucky all the time. I go for my first ultrasound next Thursday which seems so far away.

@waiting4you: We got to see the bean and hear the heartbeat at our first (8w) appointment. That was at my OB's office.

@KrzyRiver: Yay for passing that hurdle! I pass the date of first miscarriage on Friday but have a couple more weeks until I get to the date of my second. I can relate at how it feels like a mental victory to get past that date!
@waiting4you: Sending you good thoughts today at your scan!

Well, back from the u/s. Baby A is measuring right on track at 9 weeks. We got to see and HEAR the heartbeat (175bpm). We also saw baby B and again a faint heartbeat, though B has only grown about 6 days in the 10 days since our last scan and is measuring almost 3 weeks behind A now. Dr is pretty positive that baby B will stop developing soon.
Here's the curveball.....baby B, is actually baby B AND C! Yes, there are 2 fetuses and yolk sacs in the sac that baby B is in. They were measuring the same (just past 6 weeks) but he couldn't zoom in any further to make out much detail.
We did IVF and transferred 2, therefore 1 of them split.
I'm frazzled, to say the least. Not only did we still see B and its heartbeat, which is hard on your heart to see, but be told to expect to lose that baby ...AND to see another one! I was prepared to not see B at all or just a sac, I DID NOT expect to see 3!
My heart is happy, yet broken. I'm numb. Part of me wants to hold out an ounce of hope till we see the OB and get a better scan but I feel like I need to "move on" for my hearts sake.

As you know moving the wand ever so slightly can get a very different view, but this seemed to be the best example in the difference in sac size. Baby A is on the left. B and C are on the right.
