@waiting4you: Oh my goodness, three babies! I hope that B&C catch up to A. I'll be praying for the five of you.

@avivoca: thank you, though I'd like to think they could both hold on strong, dr was about 90-95% sure B & C would not make it. Those are some tough odds. I'm sad that our u/s pics are going to show one baby in the first pic, 2 in the second u/s pic and 3 in the 3rd and then potentially just one in the 4th.
I would have thought that if B wasn't going to make it it wouldn't have kept a heartbeat this long. But what do I know. I guess we'll see how it goes on Tuesday.

@lilyann: @TapDancer: @mfa_lady: @whiskers: @Shantuck: thank you ladies. I appreciate the support. As we all know, it's out of our hands. We trust the process and hope for the best. That's all we can do. When my hubby and I set out to have a baby 2 1/2 years ago we NEVER imagined our journey would look like this (2 IUI's and 2 rounds of IVF, now "technically" expecting 3) but we will get thru it. Some how, some way.
@artsy - let's hold off making any changes to my "status" on the list till we know more either way.

@waiting4you: oh my goodness, what a crazy rollercoaster you have been on. I'm so sorry that the odds don't look good for babies B&C. I hope by some miracle, they catch up and make it. Stay strong, mama.

@waiting4you: oh, sweetie! This is hard news and an emotionally challenging place for you and your family right now. I can't imagine how you must be feeling. Sending you so many hugs right now.
When you said that you that you will be sad the u/s pics show little B and C, something came to mind. We transferred to embies (the only two we got) and I was so sad about the one that never caught on. (Of course, I felt also guilty because I was also grateful to be pregnant at all.) My acupuncturist said to me that the embie that didn't develop was the guardian angel to the one that did. That's how I think about that embie now and one day I will tell our kid they have a guardian angel and I have a picture of two embies to prove it! Maybe that's a way to think about little B and C if they do vanish ... they will always be a part of your family and part of your story!

@Amorini: this made my heart very happy to read. What a great way to look at things. We are indeed so very blessed to be able to say IVF worked. If that means 1, 2 or 3 we will always be thankful for this opportunity. What a blessing to baby A to possibly have 2 guardian angels!
The other part of this that is tough is my parents and in laws are excited and pushing to see the ultrasound pics. They're slightly peeved that we're being so secretive about this. We were hoping to surprise everyone with twin news one day, and now it's got another layer of stress added to the ultrasound pics. Once we have a more definitive answer either way they'll know, but I wish they could just keep their excitement at bay for now.

@whiskers: oh i feel you. the fatigue and general irritation is getting to me, haha! I work 3 days a week and have been looking forward to those days lately...no energy to deal with a 4 year old and 15m old all day!
apricot / 344 posts
@thepicklemonster: we could, but because we did IVF and nothing has been a surprise for anyone along the way, we were really holding on to being able to pull a fun surprise at a gender reveal and announce that it was twins (or now triplets, one single and a set of identical). If things look even less hopeful at the next appointment on Tuesday, I'll probably go ahead and say something to the parents.
Luckily I have you all to share with and 2 other of my best girlfriends who have been along for the long ride with us.

EDD: October 26, 2016
How far along: 7 weeks
First child? nope 3rd
First doctor appointment: March 31st (too far away)
Any symptoms so far? Intense fatigue and nausea
Who have you told? My DH, my folks, my SIL , a local friend, and HB.
I am too nervous about this pregnancy to be excited. However I am cautiously joining here. My EDD is just that until I see the doctor. I had a D&C in Janurary so not sure for real how far along.

@waiting4you: Oh hun. What a shock. I'm so sorry to hear about the uncertainty, but wow, baby A is doing incredible - and what a fighter baby B is being. x As for C.... wow.
Whatever happens, you have a pretty special moment to treasure right now - and we'll deal with the rest when it comes. When is your OB appt? xx
(I forget what date you had your double transfer. When was it?)
apricot / 344 posts
@jaguar: Thank you indeed this is a special moment. Explains a lot!!! all that OHSS, crazy high numbers....honestly not sure why I was shocked to see baby C pop up today! I've been afraid to google what the details of having an embryo split and size variations etc. but maybe this weekend if I'm still holding out hope for B&C.
We transferred 2, 5 day expanded blastocysts on a fresh cycle. One was hatching unassisted and the other was close to hatching. They were the only 2 that we got that cycle. That was on January 26th.
Our 1st OB appointment is on Tuesday, so not too long. In my heart I almost want to see a lot of progress or no progress...dragging out the slow progress just makes this hard on the emotions.
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@waiting4you: I know. Dragging out is heart wrenching. I've had several losses take their sweet time - and it's that much harder when there's a heartbeat involved. What did B/C's heartbeats measure?
I think it's why most Aussie clinics only do SET. My friend Em did a single transfer which split & she has identicals. It happens more than we think! *big hugs*
apricot / 344 posts
@jaguar: Dr. didn't measure heartbeat of B&C since I'm pretty sure he was confident there was something wrong with them because they are so far behind. also, it seemed like there was so much going on in their smaller sac that he was having a hard time getting a clear picture of each one separate from the other and the yolk sac's etc. Sadly he didn't even label them as A, B and C on the pics this time.

I'm declaring myself useless until at least 14 weeks, and then I'll need to reevaluate. I feel so crappy I can't do anything. Sucks because I go back to work full time next week and I have a class to teach this Friday.
Taking a mini vacation next weekend and that even sounds like too much work.
AAAAND I just broke down in tears explaining to DH how tired I feel. Haha he got scared.

Tomorrow heading off to a mom's retreat for the weekend... Super excited to go, but I have no energy and I won't be able to participate in the drinking/wine tastings or hot tub. Boo! This is my only time away from other children so I'm taking advantage but hope I have the energy to enjoy it.

@artsyfartsy: @Shantuck: @winniebee: Thank you ladies. I wish I had a sooner appointment but I am just trying to not worry for now. The crazy fatigue is killing me. My little boys are running me to pieces. I need to sleep until like the weekend. My DH works and goes to school so I won't see him until Friday morning and the weekend. I am looking forward to going out of town this weekend to see my brand new neice.

Hi ladies! I've been "out" on the IVF boards for a few weeks but I'm going to officially join the October board (even though I'm still cautiously optimistic about the pregnancy).
Location: Chicago suburbs
EDD: 10/22 (but probably sooner since I'll be having a RCS)
How far along: 7.5 weeks
First child? No- I have an almost 4 year old. This is my 5th pregnancy- I had 3 MCs after my son. We did IVF w/PGD this fall- this was our 2nd FET.
First doctor appointment: We've already had 3 U/S (the joy of IVF!) and will have 1 more next week before I'm released to my OB. Everything is measuring on schedule so far. Best feeling was hearing that heartbeat for the 1st time last week- such a relief after all the losses we've had.
Any symptoms so far? All-day nausea- having to eat every 2 hours, food aversions, tons of bloating (I've been in maternity pants for weeks now). Water and most drinks are tasting really gross so I'm having a hard time staying hydrated during the day.
Who have you told? Close family knew about IVF so they all know but outside of that just a few nosy co-workers :).
