@FaithFertility: Spent the evening in hospital after cramping and tightening.. scary stuff. Baby girl seems ok, I have pulled ligaments in my uterus from the seatbelt impact. Home now and ready for a snooze!

@jaguar: Oh my! I'm so sorry you had that happen. It must've been so scary. Was it after you dropped G off? Hope she's okay and hoping you can rest and relax. Feel better soon.
Fortunately it will be a short work week. I'm bone-tired from doing yard work these past three days (though honestly it felt good to do, I'm just paying for it now)! DH and I did a little baby stuff splurge due to all the good sales going on! It was our first time really buying anything baby-related and getting to feel all of that cuteness and excitement together was really fun and good for us. We also kind of started on the nursery...we are getting an 1940's rocker reupholstered. I didn't get my craft started but hopefully I will have time to order fabric this week. Still no name and DH seems kind of prickly about me asking....

@jaguar: glad your ok! Hope you can relax a bit for this week!
@Amorini: Shopping for baby is always a blast! My DH acts like its pulling teeth to go sometimes but once we are there he wants to buy more then I do.

@jaguar: that's the last thing you needed. Glad baby is doing well and I hope you recover quickly.
@Amorini: glad you had a productive weekend!

@jaguar: I'm so sorry. Hope you recover well, so scary.
We had a pretty good weekend. DH has a better schedule now, which is awesome. We were both pretty exhausted after June with his crazy schedule, had rotating overnight visitors from late May till late June with only a couple days breaks in between. So now it's a nice break, he got a few things done on ladders I hadn't wanted to do and put up some shelving.
My parents really want to be helpful and have us visit, so I can rest a bit - or visit us, so they can help but their last few visits just haven't been helpful. They end up buying random crap when I'm trying to get rid of stuff and reorganize things so I don't know where things are and have to redo everything plus get the kids back on schedule once they leave. I just am not a patient pregnant person, wish people wouldn't take 'leave me alone for a bit' offensively.

@jaguar Hope that the soreness goes away ASAP and that you are able to relax a bit. What a yucky experience!
Hope you ladies are all feeling well after the weekend. I have been moody with my husband and immediately after feeling so bad (he's not doing anything wrong....) So I reminded him gently... you know, some people report irritability as a pregnancy symptom Not trying to excuse my bitchiness, but it's coming out of nowhere these days!
We took dtr to the city this weekend and it was so nice-- other than a little too much walking. Have been trying to savor time with her- in between the tantrums and potty training stubbornness! As excited as we are about 'little sis' I already miss our tiny 3 person fam!

@jaguar: Oh no! Glad you're ok.
I'm about to send in a daycare application form! Eek. We had a tour last week and the director kept laughing at how DH referred to the baby as "it." Team green/ first-time parent problems!

@thepicklemonster: Haha. I can relate. We keep referring to him/her as "the baby" but sometimes you want to use a pronoun, right?!
@MrsRcCar: So true about my DH, too. He was dragging his feet going to the stores and then practically running around the shops in excitement! I'm a minimalist is so many ways, so it's going to be a buying competition between him and my parents, I think. Clear the closets and drawers now! (Thankfully they already are!).

@MrsRcCar: love the name! It's #1 on our list right now as well (Oliver Henry) - we'll see if that lasts until October!

@Amorini: @thepicklemonster: Is it bad that I know it's a boy yet still mostly say "the baby" instead of "him"? Think I'm still just wrapping my brain around it all!

For those of you who are having a shower/sprinkle - do you plan on getting the host(s) a gift? I'm having a shower in early September and would like to think of something nice to thank the hosts with. Any suggestions on what's appropriate and would be most appreciated?

I had my follow-up ultrasound to check on A's kidneys. Everything is perfect, she's still a girl, and she's in the 78% for growth. Stubborn girl is transverse, which is hella uncomfortable, but I am thankful she is healthy.
The only bad thing is that the nurse put in my order for bloodwork wrong, so they had no record of me needing my third trimester labs done. So I waited around for an hour before I went up to find out what was going on, they figured it out, and I got my bloods done. I am never scheduling a mid-day appointment again.

@TapDancer: This isn't something I am aware of! Maybe a nice card and bottle of wine, and say thank you and this is to help you "wine" down?!
cherry / 246 posts
@FaithFertility: Haha well, it might not actually be a thing. But I just thought a little token of appreciation would be nice (nothing huge...) for all their time/effort/money. Wine is a good idea!

@Amorini: crazy how husbands can be!
@TapDancer: I love the name Henry. DH nixed it from our list early. He hates Hank as a nn.

@Amorini: I was actually 5 minutes away from picking G up, so she wasn't in the car - thank goodness!
@MrsRcCar: @whiskers: @Maysprout: @mand4: @thepicklemonster: @FaithFertility: Thank you lovelies. xx
@avivoca: Transverse, ouch! If it's anything like how uncomfy this head in ribs breech is, I feel for you!
So my wonderful OB is actually on holidays for the next two weeks, so the on call OB who was at the hospital last night has asked me to come in tomorrow to just have another check up of baby. Turns out she is my doctor's alternate/back up, so I'm actually really happy to meet her JUST in case baby comes when mine happens to be away. (I hope not, but we will see.)
Sore today but had some wiggles this morning, so hoping baby girl is ok!

@TapDancer: I am planning on getting the host of my shower a hostess gift...not sure what yet. I hosted a shower for a friend a few months ago, and she got me a gift card for a pedicure, which was much appreciated. I also like the wine idea, or maybe a gift card to a restaurant?
@thepicklemonster: I've started contacting dancers this week...crazy we're at that point already!

@thepicklemonster: exciting! Did you know immediately that particular daycare was the one or did you tour a few? I had no idea where to begin and no solid recommendations for centers near our home, so we're scheduled to tour 3 next week. Hoping I'll get a good feeling about one of them!

I got my craft on for the girls' room! I pinned this blooming monogram awhile ago and did this for H tonight! I'll do A's tomorrow night. Hers will have the same flowers, but more pink than purple.

@TapDancer: I am so clueless and have no friends with kids in the area so I just researched online. The daycares for infants near us seemed to be this one, or churches which I'm not into (we're Jewish), or smaller in-home places that I'm also not into, so it is kinda the only one by default. BUT I ran into an acquaintance last week and turns out she sends her kids there and likes it, so that was a good sign. I have no basis for comparison but it seemed really great and very structured, which I like. If there were other good options I'd go compare but I'm very satisfied with this one. Let me know how your tours go!

Has anyone dealt with SPD (symphysis pubis dysfunction) during pregnancy? There are several good threads on Hellobee about it, but just curious if any October mamas are currently/recently dealing with it. My OB just diagnosed me with SPD yesterday, however I was already 99% sure based on Dr. Google and my intense pelvic pain! She gave me some tips on how to reduce pain a bit (basically, how to walk/stand/sit so that I'm stabilizing the pelvis as much as possible) and highly recommended seeing a chiropractor as well. It's not pleasant and I move verrrry slowly these days, but it's manageable. I've heard it can be a LOT worse, so fingers crossed I don't head that way!

@thepicklemonster: we're Jewish too! There's actually one Jewish daycare in our area that's highly competitive to get into. It's normally a 2 year wait, But since we're Temple members we got to go to the top of the wait list!

Just had the follow up OB appt to check on baby - rubbish scan, old machine, BUT the main thing is baby girl's heart is strong at 161bpm, she continues to hang out breech but is seemingly happy in there - and that's all that matters. So relieved the accident was nothing worse. Now to run around and sort out the car!
