@whiskers: @TFrances: @TapDancer: Yeah, that is not flying in my house right now. 74 is the highest I can stand it. It got up to 77 last weekend (the A/C just couldn't keep up with the heat) and I was DYING.
Heard from my SIL. They want to come Friday (aka TOMORROW). I'm trying to be gracious, but damn it. I get that her kids are out of school and she is losing track of time, but DAMN woman, one day's advanced notice is not enough. They didn't realize how expensive the zoo is though, so I'm hoping they will postpone a few weeks.

I am 22 weeks along yesterday. We have been taking it easy. Although we are apparently buying a new to us minivan. I have finally gotten my care changed to a new provider! I meet them on Wednesday next week. I am hoping for a whole new experience. This place I have been at has been totally lacking.

@MrsRcCar: Good luck with the car shopping! I hope you like what you get. I also hope that you love your new provider!

Also, to top off my stellar mood, I peed myself today. In the bathroom. Because I couldn't make it to the toilet apparently.

@avivoca: We already picked out the minivan. Just signing the paperwork and picking it up this weekend. We are getting a 2005 Toyota Sienna. I never wanted a minivan but I guess 3 kids means minivan. Not that I mind right now it is a completely loaded mini van with low miles.
I am hoping my new provider will be awesome. Really we can only go up from where I was.
Hope your day gets better.

@MrsRcCar: Damn, that is awesome. I found a 2010 I like, but it's not AWD and that is important to my husband. It's above budget but we are expert hagglers and they haven't dropped the price since April.
grapefruit / 4712 posts
@avivoca: Ours is a 2005 with AWD and around 90,000 miles. We talked down to a little bit over what I wanted to pay but I love it! I can't wait to pick it up this weekend.

@MrsRcCar: That is amazing. There is a 2005 with 109k miles and it's under budget, but it's a private seller. I need to get the pre approval from the bank.
grapefruit / 4712 posts
@avivoca: we are buying through a trusted dealer with a warranty. We started this buying process without even laying hands on it. The van is at a dealership located near my parents. So I had my mom scope it out then I drove over earlier this week see and talk money. My parents live 3 hours away so the boys and I (plus dog) have been at my parents house since Monday. We are staying through the weekend.

@FaithFertility: it is a bit. She has space around her and fluid to turn - it's probably more concerning to me because she hasn't alternated positions at all... Always the same. Makes me think she will be born with her legs around her ears or something. And then makes me paranoid about hip issues!
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@cnidaria: maybe that will happen... Will have to wait and see. I don't have any inkling of desire to birth a breech baby vaginally - too risky and I am anxious enough already - but I would really like to have the chance to birth my way again, and have a re-do on some stuff that went haywire with #1. Not getting to labor at all makes me sad, and there are still many months to go!

@MrsRcCar: huzzah for the new car!
@avivoca: oh Hun. Today is a wine day. Or at least chocolate, since wine is off limits.

Anyone making any progress on names? We're trying to finalize ours in the next few days. my favorite name (William) has meaning/significance to me. My husband also likes it, but is not sold on the nickname Liam, which I LOVE. His favorite is James, which is in my top three, but doesn't really have any meaning to either of us.
I can't decide if it is more important to have a name with some sort of meaning/significance, or just a name that we both really like, meaning we'd both probably give up our personal favorites and pick the next favorite that we both agree on. Why is this so hard?!
Would love suggestions of similar names we might have missed based off our current list:
-William (Liam or Will)
-James
-Benjamin (Ben)
-Chase
-Wesley (Wes) *not sure about this because I like Wes way more than Wesley)
-Nicolas (Nick)

@Kitkat: Love all of your choices. I really like James. It's so classic. We are making no progress and like the idea of a name with meaning and also that sounds nice. Therefore...I'm not help at all! Any reasons why wouldn't want to wait until you meet LO before deciding? I've heard some people say that the name makes more sense when they get to "try it on."
@MrsRcCar: That's sweet. Is there a nickname to Oliver that you like or will he only be an Oliver?
apricot / 325 posts
@MrsRcCar: aww I love Oliver! Unfortunately my husband nixed it as a first name. If we do go with James as a first name, I'm thinking Oliver as the middle
grapefruit / 4712 posts
@Amorini: my husband hates all NN for Oliver but I don't mind Ollie. James was a top contender for a middle name for Oliver but Jacob was my great grandfathers name.

80% sure our little one will be named Quentin Deckard. But we still have Theodore and Dashiell as contenders for first name.
apricot / 325 posts
@Amorini: no, no reason we wouldn't wait until we meet him to decide on a name, and that might end up happening if we can narrow it down to two or three. My husband randomly decided he wanted to decide on a name by the 4th of July, so I jumped on the opportunity to narrow down our list since getting him to talk names has been like pulling teeth until recently

@Kitkat: FWIW, I like giving my kids their own name, because they will have their own identity and give that name significance all on their own. Preston, Graham and Edwin are my favorites for boys (which I will never get to use). I love all the names on your list, though. You really can't go wrong.
Our name is pretty set, though we aren't widely sharing it.

@whiskers: thanks, that's a really good point about them giving the name significance on their own!

@Kitkat: DH nixed it with our first boy and second but I think it's grown on him. I have loved it for a long time. He suggested it this time. We also liked Theodore.
persimmon / 1132 posts
@Kitkat: That's wonderful your DH is so on top of it. If only my DH were so motivated! He is super excited but not feeling any sense of time crunch.
DH said the other day that we can buy all the things we need for the baby "the week before he or she arrives." Umm, how do you know when that's going to happen, dear?!
ETA: For all we know, there is plenty of time left, but I think you know what I mean...

@jaguar: G never moved either and after 34 weeks I had very low fluid levels! At her 2 week check up he diagnosed her with tortocolis, her right side of her neck was tight she wouldn't turn that way, we had to do stretches and such, no harm done just made me very aware of her head position at night and such!
@Amorini: Hahaha I'm due 10/10 so I don't even count Oct as time, they come when they come!
apricot / 325 posts
@MrsRcCar: you and I sound like we have the same taste in names...Theodore was also on my list I love the nicknames Theo and Teddy.
@Amorini: He was not motivated regarding names until this week...no idea what changed! He was also sending me links to potential day cares yesterday...maybe the reality that we've only got about three months left set in now if only I could convince him we need to buy nursery furniture soon
@FaithFertility: me too...I swear DH nixed it awhile ago, but now he likes it. The more I think about it, the more I like it

@Kitkat: Theodore James is our "runner up" name. Hate to put it that way. It's is a wonderful name just love Oliver more. I like the nickname Theo personally.

@Kitkat: My sister has alwaysed wanted to use that name, which is ok since my last name is so Italian it just didn't work

Hi all, had a scan today (25w3d) and apparently I have "notching" one one side which means there is a bit of resistance of blood flow to the placenta from the uterine artery on one side. My OB said it's just something to watch and is usually only a problem if it's on both sides. He really didn't seem concerned at all, didn't schedule anything extra or tell me to do anything. I just have next regular scan at 31 weeks. I said "ok I wont google it" and of course promptly googled it and got freaked out. Ugh. Anyone had this?

@Kitkat: Our name is set for this little girl: Aster Caroline lastname.

@thepicklemonster: I have no experience, but if he isn't concerned defidefinitely stay away frofrom Dr.Google and try not to worry! Easier said than done I know!!!!
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@thepicklemonster: Gahhhh! I feel your pain with google. Try your best to avoid. No advice but big hugs! xx
Our girl has been named since we found out.. crazy! But we are both still pretty set, so I think it's done. Middle name is 80% done. Almost there.

The hormones are real for me right now, I think she is going through a growth spurt or something. I'm suddenly super moody, I just feel so off, I want eat junk food constantly and my sleep sucks again.

I finally made my first shared room purchase! Lavender curtains. Hyla picked out PawPatrol bedding (sigh) and a lavender comforter, so their room will be Aqua, lavender, and white with wood tones and pops of other colors.

@avivoca: Fun! We put together baby girl's crib yesterday because we're prepping E's new room. I need to get some stuff for the new (old) nursery!

@avivoca: That's so cute. G loves Paw Patrol too.
@mfa_lady: So exciting!
I bought some bedding, went with not girly this time... but I hope it all ends up coming together soon. I need hubby to put the cot together so I know how much room I have!

Nothing like being rear ended by a p-plater paying no attention on the way to daycare pick up.
