@avivoca: We were going to get a third row on the rouge if we went with it. Right now there is a used Flex near us we are going to check out tomorrow. I'm nervous buying anything before baby is even here because I don't know what is going to work best.

@whiskers: Good luck! We are hopefully going to check out vehicles this weekend. Some of them are an hour away from here, which is kind of the pits but the used market here isn't as great as it is in other parts of the state (we are only considering used vehicles).

@mfa_lady: I'm so afraid of something like this happening! Sorry it wasn't how you wanted to find out, but congrats on your girl
Nothing new for me, just waiting for my next u/s in a few weeks. My DH, however, managed to injure himself playing soccer at work and his physio thinks it's an ACL tear so now he will need an MRI to determine whether or not he needs surgery for it. Really hoping he doesn't... with under 4 months to go until baby, there's basically no chance he'd be able to get it done, much less recover from it, before then

@cnidaria: You know, I somehow knew it was going to happen to me! It's like, I finally decide to take a stand on something, of course by no fault of my own we don't get to follow through. Now that I've whined a little bit, I'm over the moon. Sisters!

I don't think I'll need too much new gear with baby #2.... I did get a Arms Reach co-sleeper off my local buy nothing group which I'm excited about. Last baby slept in the rock n play for the first few months and when she was waking up so much in the night it was annoying to have to get out of bed to pick her up every time. We will need another chair/rocker probably. And possibly a double stroller - I'm still debating that one. And, of course, some boy clothes though I think we should get a good number of hand me downs that I can just supplement for the first 6 months at least.
Does anyone have a maternity swimsuit they like? I need one - the ones online at Motherhood Maternity looked good but are about $50 with shipping and everything. Any good cheaper options out there?

@Alexandra603: Did I miss that you are having a boy?! I have a maternity swimsuit from Old Navy that is fine. I have trouble finding swimsuits that fit my small chest well, so it isn't great in that department for me, but it works.

@Alexandra603: Our Target had a few, I'm in FL so not sure if others would! Maybe online?!
I have cheap larger bikini bottoms/tops from Walmart

@whiskers and @faithfertility thank you! I will check out target and old navy. and yes, a boy! I think I posted about it briefly many pages ago.

@Alexandra603: I think you are where I messed up the list. My counts on the bottom didn't match with the top - I think i just forgot to put it by your name.

@mfa_lady: Congrats! Oh my goodness, that must have been so mixed-exciting/disappointing in the beginning. No surprise that you recovered quickly! I didn't think through how hard it would be for the medical staff to keep the cat in the bag. Now I announce "don't tell me!" like a crazy person when anyone at an appointment walks in the door.
@cnidaria: Ouch! Sorry about DH. Really hoping he doesn't need surgery!!
I've been working so hard (12 hrs/day?!) and feeling so out of it. Baby is kicking lots but despite that, I've had extra anxiety this week (probably due to the extra work and tiredness). It's hard for me to be super into pregnancy and, at the same time, high pressure work situations which is basically all this week is. It's a total disconnect for me and one that makes me worried what kind of mamma I'm gonna be. To top it off, my boss comes to town tomorrow for the next three days (yes, weekend work) for a conference we're attending. I don't think he gives two shits that I'm overworked and that really bothers me. End rant, thanks.
A question: is it a super big deal that DH's health insurance (which I'm on) is going to change when I'm about 31./32 weeks -- if it changes for the better? I freaked out (I mean, yelling at work! okay, I was alone in my office, but...) when DH told me it was going to change before I delivered. I demanded to see the policy and it actually puts us in a much better place (better deductible, better pre-natal and hospital coverage, also better just family wellness and lower copays). Is there some other scary thing that could happen when you change insurances midstream (and mid pregnancy) that I should prepare for?
nectarine / 2210 posts
@Amorini: I wouldn't think so. You'll have to meet a need deductible. I think worst case they are late processing your enrollment or sending your new I'd card and you may need to pay something upfront and then get reimbursed.

So we bought the pram last week AND today we got the matching infant seat, and I am so, so excited.
OMG WE HAVE A PRAM!

@Amorini: I changed mine mid pregnancy last time and there were no issues. Hope work gets better - that certainly doesn't seem like fair demands on you.

@Alexandra603: Asos and Old Navy have some decent inexpensive maternity swimsuit options. I've still been rocking the two piece since my bump is pretty small but I'm headed for a beach vacation in August and I'm sure I'll need to buy one soon.

How are you guys going? I hit 24 weeks this weekend (yay!) but my back aches have ramped up (boo!) but otherwise... life is good.
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@jaguar: Hey friend! I made it to 22 weeks yesterday. To celebrate, I had to rig a bridesmaid dress I wore in a friend's wedding (we bought them in January) so it would fit around the bump. Ha!

@jaguar: Hello! I am 26 weeks pregnant. It is hot as HELL outside and they insist on having church outdoors, so I am a big, stinky, pregnant ball of hormones. I feel likeI am going to have to skip church for the rest of the summer if they can't do it in the air conditioning.

@avivoca: Oh, I don't miss being preggers in summer. That was me with G. I am layering up in winter, but you have my sympathy! x

@whiskers: Time feels like it's in slow-mo over here.
@mfa_lady: My belly is changing constantly. It's feeling saggy and floppy today..

@jaguar: I was pregnant with H during the summer too and I honestly don't remember being this miserable. It feels like the deep, humid, sweltering summer I associate with the Deep South (I live in Ky, so more mid-south). It's sucking all the energy and life out of me.

@jaguar: 24.5 weeks here and also dealing with backaches...I had a prenatal massage yesterday and it was HEAVENLY! @avivoca: it's miserably hot here too (CA). It's supposed to be 105+ this week so I'll be inviting myself over to my inlaws to swim
Hope everyone is feeling good and staying comfortable!

@avivoca: Oh sticky, humid heat is the worst kind!
@Kitkat: That sounds soooo nice! I hope it helped. The back aches are awful. xx

How was everybody's weekend? I had my first random stranger ask me when I was due, so I guess that means I finally look more pregnant than just over-indulging in ice cream! Also, DH was finally able to feel a kick for the first time It was pretty cute.
@jaguar: 24 weeks tomorrow and can definitely sympathise with the backaches. Mine are always in one particular spot on my back and mostly when I'm sitting (which, of course, I do all day at work). It's really starting to make me loathe my evening commute on the train because it's so crowded and there's no room for my constant manoeuvring to try to find a comfy way to sit!

@cnidaria Wows- I feel for you with the train commute! Was stuck on a train most of the evening yesterday and it was rough-- cannot imagine doing it every day.
"Ran" my half this weekend. If any of you are runners, you'll get that my 3 hour finish time was pretty humbling BUT, I felt fine cardio/pregnancy wise while running it, just back/leg/foot pain... from not training well and all the extra weight. Tylenol and coffee today- feeling MUCH better than post-race.
Am glad to stop running now!
Um... I don't remember feeling SO big so early the first time around. I feel like leg-shaving is already being compromised... Also, a friend passed on all her maternity shirts and I think they'll only last through the end of the week
Hope that Monday goes well for you all and that you're sleeping ok

@mand4: That is pretty impressive! My fastest half-marathon is 2:17. Yes, I was glad to be "done" running, but I was done a lot earlier than you (sometime in march after my 10k) because I was in so much pain afterward.

Been reading the posts, but no posting from me. I feel like 25 weeks is this weird middle rut in the pregnancy. I'm feeling like crap, but have so many weeks yet to go. My pregnancy carpal tunnel has started again. I have constant scar tissue pain (some days more than others), I've pinched a few nerves in my back (oh so much fun). I'm constantly hot and DH keeps setting the AC at 78. Um no... I'm just sweating all friggin' day. So overall, feeling mostly crappy although baby is doing great according to midwife. Finally starting to talk dates for my MIL to come out to help when the baby arrives. I know she will be a ton of help but need to nail down DH's paternity leave... We will need her here for the actual birth so someone can watch the toddler. But then I'm still debating about 2 or 3 weeks.

@mand4: congrats! I ran during my first two pregnancies and this time it just wears me out too much this time.
I'm on a major nesting spree, which means doing too much then having to drink water and sit. My house / yard is driving me crazy right now though and wanting everything to be organized and running smoothly by the time #3 gets here. I'm definitely a little snappy with DH and kids but I'm tired of picking up stuff that they can easily put back in the right place. So I guess part of my nesting is trying to whip everyone into shape so things don't fall apart while we have a newborn.

@cnidaria: That is so awesome! Hubby is desperately waiting for kicks but baby girl is holding out.
@mand4: What an awesome achievement. The idea of waddling to get icecream is about as fast as I go lately. You're a rockstar!
@TFrances: It feels like limbo, this part. I hope time speeds up a wee bit.
@Maysprout: I feel the same! Trying to get lots done now while I still can.
