Hi ladies. I've been lurking for awhile now watching everyone's stories. I thought I'd share mine.
Congratulations to all the moms to be!! and my condolences to sslm.
Date of BFP: Feb 4
How many cycles TTC? 1, we were NTNC
How far along are you? 10w3d
Estimated due date: October 6
Date of next prenatal appointment: My first appt was March 1st. Everything turned out good. My next one is March 29th. I can't wait to get an ultrasound, but it sounds like I won't be able to get one for awhile.
Any Symptoms? Tried, nausea, back aches, over all feeling of blah
Who have you told? At first my husband, my mom, and a friend from work. We were going to try to keep it a secret until the 2nd trimester but last week decided to tell rest of the families.
What are you googling right now? Maternity clothes. My pants are not comfy anymore.

WELCOME ABOARD @ DOOGERDOG! We are due date twins!!! Super excited to have you join us! I've already purchased maternity clothes... and sadly have started wearing them. They are just so comfy!!!
We are telling the rest of our friends that we haven't told this weekend. We're having people over for Hubs birthday and we thought it made the most sense. We'll only be at 11 weeks, but I think I'm ready to spill the beans!

Hi ladies!! I had my first OB appointment yesterday, and everything went really well Little bean was measuring right on track at 8 weeks and 3 days, and EDD is still 10/23. We also go to see the heartbeat, which was awesome--this teeny flicker! We didn't get to hear it though, and she didn't tell us the heart rate, so that bums me out a little. But oh well. Next appointment is 4/11 for my NT scan!
How is everyone else feeling? I'm still (knock on wood) doing pretty well, no morning sickness or major bloating or fatigue.

Hey everyone! Just checking in... we told a group of our close couple friends last night and our parents now have the ok to spill the beans. We are 11w1d today.
This whole week I've been really nervous about it, I'm so terrified that something is going to happen and we are going to have to un-tell everyone if we have a miscarriage. Now the cats pretty much out of the bag (except on FaceBook, we haven't said anything on there).
Anyone else get nervous about this for when you get closer to letting everyone know the good news? It doesn't help that my symptoms are starting to subside a little - less nausea, less frequent trips to the bathroom, etc... I guess I'm overthinking things...???
My next OB appointment is on 3/27 for the NT test and a check up. I'll be 12w3d at that point and it can't get here soon enough!!!
Hope the rest of you are feeling pretty good!

@hilsy85: Glad your appointment went well! It's so amazing seeing the heart beating. I hope you get to hear it next time.
@CarrieLouWho: It's totally understandable to be nervous. My DH keeps spilling the beans to more and more people and I can't help but feel like we're jinxing ourselves. Your symptoms are probably subsiding b/c your getting closer to the second trimester.
honeydew / 7235 posts
@hilsy85: that's awesome!! Glad you appt went well and you saw the hb! So reassuring right?
@CarrieLouWho: I have told a few more people than I wanted to at this point, but many are still in the dark! Just a few more weeks and we will tell everyone -- I probably won't put it on Facebook for a while, like, after 18/20 weeks.
Feeling wise --- been really good actually! Boobs still sore and big! Nausea only comes on when really hungry - so I just have a lot of snacks. Have to pee at least once in the middle of the night which I weird for me... tired, but not terrible. Next appt is in 2.5 weeks!
On top of everything, I think I am going to accept a new job I was offered last week -- freaked out about changing jobs now, but it's a great opportunity --- I also told them up front that I was PG and would want maternity leave written into my contract, and they were cool with that... But still nervous! Of all the times to get a good job offer!

We told my extended family on Saturday at my grandma's birthdya party, she was so excited, this will be her 15th great grandchild. I have given my mom and MIL the okay to start telling their friends.
I have yet to announce it on FB, but I'm more comfortable now after seeing our baby and the doctor gave us the okay to tell people. I would prefer to tell everyone we can before it leaks on FB, it's more fun that way

@hellobeeboston: Oh my gosh, yes totally reassuring...and also very weird to think that this living creature is inside me! I'm still getting use to the idea Congrats on the new job!! That's wonderful news! What kind of work will you be doing?@CarrieLouWho: Yay, your next appointment is so soon!! That's exciting
@jessiejo17: I agree, it's definitely more fun to tell people in person so you can see their reactions!

How is everyone feeling?
Not much has changed with me. Still having M/S although it should be called all day sickness. It seems to be worse for me in the afternoon and evening. I'm having trouble finding food that looks appetizing to me. I basically want to eat carbs, cheese and fruit. I'm getting sick of pizza and grilled cheese sandwiches. I don't know what to eat! DH says to eat whatever I can. My coworker scared me by telling me I better eat healthy or I'm going to regret it later. She gained a lot with her pregnancies. It's so hard to eat healthy when chicken, meat and veggies don't look very appealing.
squash / 13764 posts
@mrskc: Aw sorry to hear that you're still not feeling great! I hear m/s lets up around 11 weeks or so, fingers crossed this happens sooner for you!
I"m doing about the same...the big thing that DH and I are trying to figure out now is whether I will be switching OBs/hospitals. It's so difficult to figure out who I would want to meet with/where I would want to give birth, since there are like 6 options in nyc!
honeydew / 7235 posts
@mrskc: ugh, sorry to hear about the all day sickness! Remember when you were hoping for it? Ha --- hopefully it let's up soon!
@hilsy85: Thanks for the congrats - really excited to start the job - I am an art director, work in advertising.
9 weeks today!
Feeling really good. I had a week and a half or so of feeling really sick-ish and super tired... But it seems to be going away! Boobs still sore, lots of cm, getting headaches occasionally, and have been a little dizzy when I first get up - but otherwise good,
Next u/s 2 weeks from today!!!
bananas / 9357 posts
@hilsy85: I sure hope it lets up at 11 weeks. two more weeks to go then!
@hellobeeboston: Boy am I eating my words. Hubs reminds me all the time that I asked for it. ha what was I thinking? Is your U/S the NT scan?
coconut / 8681 posts
@hilsy85: Oh I just saw your update that you had an OB appointment! SO glad that everything is going well! Yay
@mrskc: Still feeling sick here and veggies sound horrible. You're totally not alone. After the first tri this should let up so I'm looking forward to getting to that point and just eating what sounds good now. We can only do our best!
Had another U/S too. Baby looking good, measuring at 10w2d (based on my O date calculations we should be about 9w4d so this is good news) and NT scan scheduled for 2 weeks from now. My husband got to come and hear/record baby's heartbeat and see the little gummy bear wiggling around which was really neat

@hilsy85: Glad to hear everything went well and that I'm not the only one without morning sickness!! I've been getting a little nervous about the lack of nausea, so i'm glad all is well with you!
I go for an u/s on April 2 which I would be just a tad over 10 weeks, and I can't wait to see the little "baguette" again!
squash / 13764 posts
Hi ladies! How is everyone doing this week? I'm 10weeks today, woo hoo--one quarter of the way done! Still feeling pretty good, although constipation is kicking in DH has been reading baby books and keeps coming out with these "fun facts", lol--very cute.
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
I'm at 12W4D, and I'm still battling M/S and constipation. I'm hoping both let us soon though, my doctor keeps telling me that it will just happens so every morning I wake up praying it happened! My hormones are going crazy too, drop of a hat I cry, haha this is the worst part! My husband thinks I'm a crazy lady!
I have my monthly doctor's appointment next Tuesday, hopefully will get another U/S to see if my cyst has shrunk down at all (fingers and toes crossed!)
persimmon / 1408 posts
Hi All! I'm going in for my NT U/S & monthly appointment at 11:30. Wish me luck! I'll be back with details :o) I have a list of fun questions to ask the Dr. I'm actually feeling pretty good, not quite as tired, still not very hungry, M/S is pretty much gone, I've lost some weight, but I'm not concerned over that.
@JessieJ - I also cry at the drop of a hat... I've had a tendency to do that before pregnancy, but now it's on a much higher frequency!
nectarine / 2834 posts
@CarrieLouWho: good luck today!!
I'm checking in at 9w 2days today! I feel totally fine, even great...which makes me nervous. Last night, I didn't even get up to go to the bathroom. But we got to see the little one at 7 weeks and 4 days and everything was perfect, so I'm trying to not worry or stress myself out. I go back on April 2 for a "dating u/s" and then in 2 weeks after that for my NT scan. Can't wait to see the baguette baking away in there!
bananas / 9357 posts
@CarrieLouWho: Keep us updated on how your appointment goes! Hope all is well.
@jessiejo17: I've definitely been crying more. Especially if I see something sad on TV.
Morning sickness getting worse for me. I've been throwing up more which is no fun. I'm slowly figuring out what to do to keep myself from feeling nauseous. I really hope it lets up in a couple of weeks. I'm 9w5d today. I have a doc appt on thursday and I'm hoping we can schedule the NT scan two weeks from then.
honeydew / 7235 posts
@hilsy85: I'm 10 weeks tomorrow! So happy to hit double digits! yeah, i've been dealing with the constipation this week --- always something new! but otherwise I feel really good. I am even less bloated than I was, boobs still sore, but I think i'm getting used to it.
@CarrieLouWho: good luck! can't wait to hear that appt. goes!
I have an appt with my OB next Wednesday - just to get a little more blood drawn & check in - I will be 11 weeks that day.... Hoping to hear the heartbeat too! The nurse thought we'd likely be able to - and if we can't I really hope we get an u/s as it will be a month since our last u/s!
My NT scan is going to be the week after that when I'm 12-12.5 weeks.
@mrskc: @jessiejo17: OMG, I have been pretty level emotion-wise, then this past weekend, I cried multiple times watching movies, that really weren't sad, and out to lunch. Oh, and at work one day --- i hope that goes away! ha
mrskc: sorry to hear your m/s is getting worse -- hopefully it will start to subside SOON!
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
@hellobeeboston: I hope it goes away soon, because I feel crazy. I had a breakdown at the gas pump yesterday after a rude guy told me I was taking too long (pump wasn't working) I broke down and drove off! haha that is not like me my husband went back and filled my car up! I feel so stupid
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
@mrskc: haha TV, commecials, sad news story, they all affect me now!
bananas / 9357 posts
@jessiejo17: Oh man that's terrible that guy at the gas station! Made you cry. What a jerk. Couple of weeks ago, I went to this concert. I was trying to say goodbye to my friends who were getting beer at the bar. I didn't know you had to have a wrist band to go in the area. One of the event staff got all up in my face and was literally inches in front of me blocking me from walking forward. I totally cried. I felt stupid. Don't feel bad about getting emotional. It's all those hormones raging through us.
honeydew / 7235 posts
@jessiejo17: agreed with MrsKC, don't feel bad about being emotional! just blame it on the baby -- that's what I do, and it makes us laugh (already blaming things on the baby at only 10 weeks, haha)....

Hey! My visit went well! And Baby is good!
They couldn't get what they needed for the NT scan though. I think I've decided to tell the U/S tech that they need to tell me as soon as they know that the baby is okay, and then move on with that they are doing. She was doing the U/S for a few minutes and kept going - "Come on Baby, Come On... where are you?" Definitely stressed me out.
Also, for those that are going for this test soon... they did the U/S on my stomach first, couldn't find what they were looking for. She told me to go pee and come back (but still hold some in). She did the u/s on my stomach again. Still couldn't find what she was looking for (this after pressing super hard, and then shaking my belly all around). Then she said to go take my bottoms off, that she was going to try the transvaginal u/s. That still didn't work, so she did the stomach one more and did the crazy belly shaking again.
So, yeah... I'm not sure if that's normal, but thought I'd share. I did get lots of pictures out of it. And since I they couldn't get the profile view they wanted, I go back tomorrow to try again. Fun stuff!!
bananas / 9357 posts
@CarrieLouWho: The tech would've stressed me out too. I'm glad baby is ok and I hope it cooperates tomorrow. Was baby not in the correct position to get a measurement?
persimmon / 1408 posts
@ MRSKC - No, the baby has to be laying flat on their back so the tech can get a profile view of the neck. They measure the folds of the neck to determine likelihood of downs syndrome and a few other conditions in conjunction with bloodwork.
They said if they don't get what they need tomorrow, that they will just use the bloodwork. My practice only tries 2 times for the U/S and you can only do it up to 13.5 weeks I think.
honeydew / 7235 posts
@CarrieLouWho: oh my gosh -- what a story - that would have freaked me out! So glad you saw the babe and all is well though!!
Just booked my early risk assessment scan for Friday April 13th!
squash / 13764 posts
@CarrieLouWho: Aw yay! Glad to hear everything went well!
@hellobeeboston: Mine is that same week, on the 10th I'm so excited about it! I can't wait to see it actually looking like a REAL baby!
@mrskc: Hope you're feeling better hun!
persimmon / 1408 posts
@ Hilsy & @ HelloBeeBoston - seeing the baby actually look like a baby is actually really cool! We got to see the little feet, I think that was my fav! It'll be here before you know it!
We've told pretty much everyone now... except for FaceBook. It's such a relief after that 12 week appointment!!!
Now I'm researching daycare options... fun times!!!
persimmon / 1408 posts
I had my 2nd attempt at the NT U/S today and it was a success! It took the tech about 35 minutes to get the baby to move into the right position... but baby finally decided to cooperate!
Now my belly is in some pain from all that pressing and jiggling... but I'm so glad they got what they needed!!!
bananas / 9357 posts
I saw my OB yesterday. Everything checked out just fine. He tried to find the heartbeat with the doppler but because my uterus is tilted back, he couldn't find it. Luckily he pulled out the portable U/S machine and we could see the heart fluttering away. Baby has grown so much in the last three weeks.
We decided to go ahead and do the CA genetic screenings. I have my NT scan scheduled for April 17th. I'll be almost 13 weeks then. So excited to see the baby again.
Hope everyone is doing great. TGIF!
honeydew / 7235 posts
@mrskc: hey - great update !
I got Wednesday to meet the OB, they are going to try to listen to the HB, hopefully we can hear it!! I will be 11 weeks that day - should be able to right? If not, I will insist on an u/s.
I am nervous and excited for this appt - it will have been 5 weeks since we had the first u/s where we saw the HB and I hope everything is perfect! I will feel like this is really real I think
(ps - my nerves are due to my best friend having two missed miscarriages, I can't get it out of my head! But I feel really good and positive)
