squash / 13764 posts
@TheFixIts: finding out the gender you mean? That's a definite YES. I am way too much of a planner and organizer to not know asap. We find out in just a few weeks! What about you?
cherry / 168 posts
@hilsy85: yes - gender - should have been more clear! we're going to be surprised! now we need to see if I can really hold out!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I have my NT scan later today! I hope everything looks good with the baby. The instructions they gave me was to stay hydrated 2-3 days before scan. And I'm to bring 8 oz of juice and they will tell me when to drink it. Anyone else get instructions like this? Are they just wanting to make sure I have a full bladder for the scan?
persimmon / 1408 posts
@MRSKC - I was told to have a full bladder, but wasn't told anything about juice. I have heard that drinking juice before an u/s makes baby more active, so maybe that's why? BTW, my bladder was too full, so I had to go pee after they did the first scan, and then pee again.
I had my 16 week check-up this morning! What a boring appointment :o) We go the results from our NT scan (everything looks good), and they did the heart doppler. Pretty uneventful visit, but good since everything was okay!
I go back on 5/22 for the anatomy scan (I'll be 20 weeks). Can't wait to find out what we're having!
Hope you ladies had a great weekend!
squash / 13764 posts
@mrskc: Yay! Hope everything goes well and you get some cute pics of baby
bananas / 9357 posts
@CarrieLouWho: Oh maybe they want to make sure baby is awake for the scan. I didn't know juice can make them more active. Glad your appointment went well, and that's so exciting you'll be finding out what you're having in 4 weeks!
honeydew / 7235 posts
@mrskc: exciting! I was just checking in to see if you had it yet!
They never told me anything before going in for the test, full bladder or not!
@CarrieLouWho: I have that in between-er check up next friday - i'll be 15 weeks, just a check in I guess, but she said it would be FAST.... can't wait for anatomy scan, although, we're not going to find out - I just want to see the baby again for a while

Does anyone else feel like they're not showing yet?? I've been stalking the bump love thread on WB, and I'm jealous of everyone's cute bumps (@RunningElley, I'm looking at you!). I feel like mine still kinda just looks like bloat in my lower stomach.
persimmon / 1408 posts
@Hilsy - I'm not showing yet. In fact, I've lost 15 lbs according to my dr appointment yesterday. I was overweight when I got pregnant though, so no worries. I'm super jealous of you skinny minnies since you'll get your bumps a lot sooner!!! I can't wait for mine to show and look pregnant instead of having to much dessert! :o)

I feel like I have a little bump, but I think it looks more like a gut than a baby bump! it's sort of "pudgy" looking even though it is hard. I'm hoping int hte next week or two it really pops! I'm ready for people to be able to tell when looking at me and know for sure!
bananas / 9357 posts
@hilsy85: Aw thanks. I feel like I have a little bump. Like Jessie though, it just looks like I have a pooch or I ate too much. It definitely gets bigger as the day goes on, so I know it's still partially bloat. First thing in the morning, I have a hard little bump. I can't wait to look pregnant.
My NT scan went great. Baby's measurement was in the normal range. He/she had a nice strong heartbeat and was very active. The U/S guy said an active baby is a good sign. It was so neat watching it move around in there.

Okay glad to hear it's not just me I wish there were a way for us to post pictures of our "blumps"!

@hilsy85: @mrskc: I still have bloating for sure too, after I eat a bigger meal I look way more pregnant than before! DH always laughs.

@hilsy85: I'm pregnant lady #4 at my office, and I wasn't thrilled with the reaction ("another one? we're never hiring anyone under 35 again!"). After an afternoon of stewing, I just though - eh screw em, I'm having a baby!
@TheFixIts: Congrats!! I'm just 2 days after you, due Oct 28!

@Tidybee: That's not a very nice reaction from your office. Like you said, screw em!

@howjoyful: Welcome! I'm due Oct. 6th so we are only a day apart!!! Hopefully it starts to get better for you, I had the yuckies until week 16. Hopefuly it stops for you soon!

@Tidybee: I understand taht reaction, 2 of my 3 coworkers had babies last year, and so my boss was like "geez what is in the water" and was like well I guess we will have to talk about getting your work seperated out. Everyone else was excited though! Hopefully they see the joy in it soon and if not know everyone else is excited for you!

@hilsy85: Yay! We'll all be showing before we know it and then we'll be complaining about our huge bellies! lol
@howjoyful: Welcome! So happy to have another October mama join us. This is interesting, but I actually have ordered something from your Etsy store back in 2010 for my wedding. Your store was called How Joyful, right?

I lurk on this board although I think I may have never actually posted! So anyway, I'm due Oct. 20 (forgive me if I've already said this). Had my 14 wk appointment yesterday and I even got my fundal height measured, so I guess it wasn't my imagination that the gut started to pop over the last week. Now to decide in the next four weeks if we're going team green like last time. Not sure my husband can hold out.

Welcome to all the recently joined ladies! How exciting
@hilsy85: My bump doesn't always look that perfect lol. I caught it at a good moment for the picture on WB and that's only when I'm holding my dress at the bottom so you could see. I asked DH last Sunday if he thought I looked pregnant and he said my boobs look huge and if I'm standing to the side you can kind of tell but that it would probably be at least another week before it was really obvious.
I weaned off of my progesterone supplementation over this past week (I've been on it in both suppository and injection form since O due to 2 prior MCs because of low progesterone) and as of yesterday I am supplement free completely. Really scary since it's been a safety blanket for me!!

Btw we are definitely finding out the gender My OB said he'd get it at my next appt, May 16th, and then I have an anat scan with a perinatologist on May 22nd!

@Running Elley: Yay! I read your blog and saw that on there as well...I hope you're feeling more confident in your body now! Go placenta go!

@sloaneandpuffy: Welcome!
@Running Elley: Yay! I'm sure everything is going to be great and your placenta will do it's job. You're getting so close to finding out the gender!

@hilsy85: @mrskc: Thanks girls I'm trying to be okay about it but I'm absolutely terrified right now, especially since I've been off for 3 days now so every time I go to the bathroom I convince myself that I'll find spotting. I haven't yet so I'm really hoping that it keeps going well.
@mrskc: Weren't you on prometrium or some suppositories as well? Are you still on them?
bananas / 9357 posts
@Running Elley: I was taking prometrium orally. I stopped taking them a couple of weeks ago. Last time I saw my doc, he said I could stop taking them. I'm not even sure that I needed it, but it made me feel better taking it.

@mrskc: I'm glad that everything's been good since you stopped taking them. That's encouraging

It's been quiet! Hope you all had a nice weekend!!!
We went ahead and purchased a crib and changing table this week (we have an armoire that we're using for extra storage). Now we just need to clean out the office so we can start getting the nursery ready!
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
@CarrieLouWho: We cleaned out our office this weekend since our furniture is being delivered next week. It made it more real, so exciting!
