@hilsy85: How exciting!!! We should make guesses on here about whether baby Hilsy is a boy or girl I'm guessing....BOY!

I've started feeling what I swear is movement this week too and it is so amazing. I can't wait for DH to be able to feel baby too!

@mrskc: @Running Elley: Haha you guys were RIGHT!! It's a BOY!! The ultrasound tech was like, "Well it's 100% boy, no doubt about it!" Apparently his parts are rather large Dh was GLOWING. We're both super happy. And more importantly, everything else looked perfect as well, baby is measuring right on track and we got some great pictures.

@jessiejo17: Me too (obviously). I totally jumped the gun and bought a gender specific outfit on Sunday. It was from Costco and it was just SO cute and only $10.99 for a few different things so I did it. DH thinks I'm ridiculous but we kept the receipt just in case

  12. LuLu Mom

    GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts

@Running Elley: haha I have came sooo close, but my DH stops me every time! He said I have plenty of time to over shop once we know for sure I think it's a boy so every time I see something cute for a boy I want to get it! haha

  13. hilsy85

    squash / 13764 posts

    @jessiejo17: haha that's hysterical!
@Running Elley: so excited for you to find out! You think it's a girl, right?

  14. Running Elley

    coconut / 8681 posts

@jessiejo17: LOL usually DH stops me too but I could not let this one go! It had pink pants that had little green on the feet that looked like little watermelons and a pink and green watermelon hat and a gray and pink striped onesie and.....a long pajama set haha.

@hilsy85: Yepp we both think it's a girl (even though I think I've just brainwashed DH into thinking that, I'm not sure he had a "gut" feeling before I did :)).

  15. Running Elley

    coconut / 8681 posts

@jessiejo17: They also had some ADORABLE outfits for boys...I almost bought one of each. Don't go to Costco before next week or you'll be sooo tempted

  16. LuLu Mom

    GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts

@Running Elley: I wish we had a Costco around here! I've been looking eveywhere, it's so hard not too! Haha DH hates going to Target with me because I always make him swing through the baby area "just to look!" haha he says the inventory doesn't overturn that much! Such a man

Ahhh! I've been so busy the past few days I haven't had a chance to check in. Congrats @Hilsy!!! How far along are you again?

We go on the 24th and I'll be 20.5 weeks, I can't wait... the suspense is killing me! I've had 2 dreams that it's a girl and 1 that it's a boy.

Can't wait to hear what the rest of you are having!!!

  18. hilsy85

    squash / 13764 posts

@CarrieLouWho: I'm 16 weeks...his parts were very obvious, which is good, because I would have been sad if we needed to wait for our next appt at 20 weeks to find out! Yay, you're finding out so soon!

  19. CarrieLouWho

    persimmon / 1408 posts

@Hilsy - so happy you were able to find out so early! You lucky duckling :o) Can't wait to hear names from everyone soon (if you're sharing, love to hear names!)!!! I think we have ours picked... can't wait to share!

  20. hilsy85

    squash / 13764 posts

@CarrieLouWho: Oooh what are you guys thinking? Right now our front runner is Leo, but we still need a middle name..I also love Henry and Max, but DH doesn't like either of those

  21. CarrieLouWho

    persimmon / 1408 posts

We're pretty traditional and decided to use family or family inspired names. We've talked about it since we started TTC, so we've known for a while.

    For a girl:
1st choice: Delaney Elizabeth (D for his sister that passed away (Deirdre) and Elizabeth is my middle name) and
2nd is Lydia Grace/Kelly: (L since both our moms are named Linda, Grace is his grandma's name, Kelly is his mom's maiden name/my step gradnma's maiden name - not related!).
    For a boy:
1st choice is William Preston (William - his dad's name/my grandpa's name, Preston - my maiden name). Husband wants to use Billy as a nickname... I'm trying to get on board. It's growing on me.
2nd choice is Charles Hudson (Charles - my other grandpas name/his Uncle's name, Hudson - my great grandma's maiden name)

  22. hilsy85

    squash / 13764 posts

I looove Delaney Elizabeth--it's classic but still unique. I also really like Charles Hudson...might have to see how Dh feels about Charles (I especially love the nn Charlie).

@hilsy85: @CarrieLouWho: we LOVE the name charlie!! we were actually considering (if we have a boy) actually naming him charlie, not charles, but we're debating....

i also love the names Delaney & Leo!!

we are so torn on names still... very few boy names (and I keep thinking we might be having a boy) and a loooong list of girl names we like.

  24. CarrieLouWho

    persimmon / 1408 posts

@Hilsy & @HellobeeBoston - I have a word document that I've kept for the last 2 years... whenever I hear a name I like, I throw it in there. And then Hubs and I would chat about them periodically.

We would use Charlie too, but figured Charles could be his grown up name if he ever wanted it. I just love Charlie, everyone is friends with Charlie :o)

I think William/Billy will be the first boys name though, Hubs is pretty set on it. What do you think of Billy (honestly). I've said that I'm good w/ William or Will... but my concern is popularity.

    @Hilsy - LOVE Leo and Henry!! :o)

  25. hellobeeboston

    honeydew / 7235 posts

@CarrieLouWho: I love William for a name! My best friend just had a boy and named him William - they're calling him Will... I know it's getting popular, but it's such a classic great name!

    I like billy too - i think it's cute!

@hilsy henry is also a great name.... 2 of my friends have a henry!

it's tough for us because a lot of our friends have kids and we will think of a name & be like - oh, wait, so & so's kid is named that! oh well... there are PLENTY of names out there

  26. hellobeeboston

on another note - I swear I have felt a couple of "pokes"!?!

i'm not 100% sure yet though... so exciting... my bump has also gotten much bigger all of a sudden!

  27. CarrieLouWho

    persimmon / 1408 posts

@HelloBee - ME TOO!! I haven't really felt pokes, more flutters. It's infrequent... but it's starting to happen more and more.
Someone at work tried to touch my belly on Monday and I put a stop to that pretty fast. I don't think you'd know if you didn't know I was pregnant, but it's getting more noticable!

  28. hilsy85

    squash / 13764 posts

    @CarrieLouWho: That's such a smart idea!

Honestly, I really like William, and billy is one of the better nns for that name--much better than Willy! You could also do Will? But I think billy is cute

@hellobeeboston: me too!! Pants that fit a week and a half ago no longer do...apparently baby is measuring a bit ahead--the u/s tech estimated him at 5oz, when "normal" weight at 16 weeks is 3.5oz! Who knows how accurate those measurments are at that stage anyway, tho. But I need to get some maternity pants/outfits this weekend for sure.

@CarrieLouWho: I love all the names you've picked out! I like William. But honestly I'm not too keen on the nickname Billy.

@hellobeeboston: Yay for feeling some movement!

Happy Belated Mother's Day to all you mom's to be! Did anyone do anything special yesterday? I think there were one or two of you finding out the sex this week...right? Keep us posted!

  31. mrskc

    bananas / 9357 posts

I'm so excited you guys! We're finding out the sex tomorrow! I had a doctor's appointment Friday afternoon. I asked when we could do the anatomy scan and he asked if we were wanting to know what we were having. I said of course! He said we could do a gender reveal scan! Yay! It costs a little money since it's an elective ultrasound, but I'm so excited that we get to find out tomorrow. Otherwise I would've had to wait until June 15th.

@CarrieLouWho: We had our mothers over for Sunday brunch yesterday.

@mrskc: Yay!! so exciting!! You'll have to update us when you find out
@CarrieLouWho: we also had our parents over for brunch. My mom gave me three adorable baby boy outfits she got! I can't wait to see them on him!

  33. CarrieLouWho

    persimmon / 1408 posts

Yay for you @MrsKC!!! Can't wait to hear what you're having! That's great that your doctor offers that... I so wish mine did!!!

Sounds like you and @Hilsy had good mother's days! My mom came up for weekend and we got to spend a lot time together which was nice. Hubby bought me flowers. I can't believe this time next year we'll be having our first real mother's day!!!

  34. mrskc

    bananas / 9357 posts

I will keep you ladies posted tomorrow. My appt isn't until 4 PM West coast time. @CarrieLouo: That's really sweet your hubby got you flowers.

  35. LuLu Mom

    GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts

@mrskc: Can't wait to hear! Mine is Wednesday, I'm getting so excited for it! I hope neither of our babies are feeling modest

Right now for names for a boy we are set on Nolan Michael (Michael is the name of DH's bro who passed away when they were kids)

For a girl I like Emerson Rhea (Rhea is my great grandma's maiden name, family tradition for first girl's middle name..pronounced Ray) but Dh still isn't 100% sold on Emerson, although he said he can't find anything he likes better. He likes Harper, but I don't feel like it flows with Rhea, and I'm not willing to budge on the middle name.

I'm so glad that you ladies had a good mother's day! We looked at houses on Saturday (put in an offer and we should find out today…eeeee :)), had dinner with my mom and grandma on Saturday night and spent most of the day with my MIL yesterday. Our 6 year old nephew has decided that we should name the baby Lily if it's a girl and Noah if it's a boy (his original boy name was "boy boy" but with a little coaxing he came up with Noah instead LOL).

@mrskc: I'm so excited that we'll be finding out baby's gender on the same day!! We'll have to keep each other occupied through the work day tomorrow, I know I'll be on the edge of my seat!

@jessiejo17: I love both of your names, you can't go wrong!

My favorite girl name is Evelyn (Evie) Faye and we're not sure about boy names yet. "We" are actually not sure of either, DH doesn't want to talk about them seriously until we find out gender, luckily I don't have to wait much longer!

  37. LuLu Mom

    GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts

@Running Elley: I love the name Evelyn and DH is still considering it. I was in love with the Everly (Everleigh) varation of it, but DH didn't care for it. It is still one of my favorites...I love E letter names for girls! haha

  38. Running Elley

    coconut / 8681 posts

@jessiejo17: Omg I LOVE Everly!! I haven't even thought of that as a possibility…I'm adding it to my list DH and I won't be deciding anything for sure until we meet baby in person, we're planning on going in with 2 or 3 solid possibilities though!

How are you/did you ladies announce baby's gender to close family? I'd like to do something special to tell our parents and siblings but I definitely want to tell them right away.

  39. LuLu Mom

    GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts

@Running Elley: I love it too, hopefully your husband gets on board with it haha I still push it every once in awhile but no luck yet

We are having our families over the night of the A/S and having a BBQ and then have a cake that will announce the gender. We are going to have our mom's cut into each side and the filling will be pink or blue! So fingers crossed this baby isn't shy that day because we already sent out invites for everyone for Wednesday!!! haha

@jessiejo17: I like both of those names you have picked out!

@Running Elley: Yes, we will definitely have to keep each other occupied tomorrow! I'm already having trouble concentrating today. I was also dreaming about it last night. And Evelyn is really cute. I like the nickname too.
