@char54: her advice definitely trumps mine since I've not been in that position @marionberry

@char54: I wouldn't text. One of my good friends and I were both dealing with infertility and I couldn't believe she texted me it made it so much worse that she didn't call. That's just my 2 cents though.
I just think you have to realize its going to be hard for her. So if her reaction is off that's why, she's happy for you but sad for herself.

@jetsa: This is a good point too.
@char54: I think it really depends on the person and what method you think she'd handle best. If you understand that her reaction may be solemn then I think you can tell her via phone or in person. All people handle things differently.

Thanks for all of the hopeful wishes and prayers. I started passing large red clots last night. It looks like a m/c. This is my second in 7 months. I didn't let myself get as excited about this pregnancy after last time, but it still hurts like hell. I am keeping my appt on Monday to discuss options with my doctor. Not sure I can handle going through this a third time.
I'm not as emotional as I was last time. Now, I'm more scared that something is actually wrong. I was fine with the chromosomal abnormalities reasoning once, but I don't think I can accept that I fell on the wrong side of the odds again.
Not sure how much I'll be checking in from here on out. Going to take a break from all things baby-related for a while. I wish you all wonderful, blissful, and most importantly, healthy pregnancies!

Thanks ladies for all your advice - we are going snowshoeing tomorrow so I might tell her then and let her know that I totally understand if she's frustrated and want nothing more than for her to get her BFP soon.
@futuremama: I am so, so sorry and can't imagine the sadness you are feeling right now. I will be thinking of you and your family lots and praying for that sticky baby of yours that is hopefully just around the corner.

The past week was pretty stressful. My Mom had emergency surgery for ruptured intestines and has to stay in the hospital for 1-3 weeks, depending on how much progress she makes each day. She seems to be doing better each day, thank god. They moved her out of the SICU onto a regular floor yesterday. To top it off, I started getting nausea throughout the day, sometimes waking me up in the middle of the night, and I can't keep food or liquids down in the mornings. Yuck. I'm just glad Mom is going to make it, because they labeled her as a "dire situation" and called it "life-threatening" and that was not easy to hear.

@mamamagpie: I hope your appointment went well today!
@evenstar982: Are you excited for your appointment tomorrow?
@runnerd: Don't you get another hCG test soon? Has the spotting stopped?
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@MapleMoose: @marionberry: I go to Dr for follow up ultrasound and blood work on Friday. I haven't stopped spotting since last Monday, but no cramps so trying my best not to get discouraged (fact: it's really hard) and to remember that my HCG increased during the spotting

Just for fun/curiosity, how long have you each been with DH, married?
We have been together a little 9 years, married little over 4 years.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@runnerd: I think the doubling hcg means you have no worries. Try to keep busy and not think about it until Friday. To answer your question, my DH and I have been together almost two years and married one in April.

Sorry for being MIA ladies! I have been feeling dreadful.. morning sickness is blurgh... but I feel so guilty for complaining. All I want is a healthy little baby and would do anything to get that! I'm a housewife/self employed part-time and am struggling to do stuff everyday! I don't know how you FT working ladies are doing it! I'm looking forward to the 2nd trimester! Got another appointment on Thursday so looking forward to that but am also terrified something will be wrong and we won't see a heartbeat... but this is a normal feeling right? We've told most of our immediate family now so that's nice, my mum is SUPER excited!
Hope everyone else is going great! xox
oh and DH and I have been together for 7 years and married for 1 at the end of this month!

@runnerd: we've known each other 12 years, been together 9 years and married 2 in June.
So ladies I'm almost certain I've got a UTI. Anyone have some great at home solutions. If the symptoms persist ill go to the dr tonight but I've got to get through work first. My first stop this AM is for some cranberry juice.

@jetsa: cranberry juice For sure!! I usually drink about a liter and its improved within an hour. You poor thing! I hate hate hate Uti's hope u feel better soon!

My first appointment went really well yesterday We got to see and hear the heartbeat, which was amazing! The doctor didn't tell us how many bpm (and I forgot to ask) but said it sounded excellent. They measured me at 7 weeks 5 days (I had calculated 7 weeks 3 days) and moved my due date to September 18th, instead of the 19th. We got to take a picture of little bean home and it may be the best 30th birthday present I recieved all day!
@mrssquirreld: I'm totally with you on the m/s train I was literally sick in bed, throwing up just about every hour on the hour on Sunday. I've been feeling nausea all day for a couple of weeks now, and actually getting sick maybe once a day, but Sunday was horrific. I asked the doctor yesterday about it and she said it sounded normal. Normal?! Crazy. But I am so glad there's a healthy baby in there so I'm trying not to complain...bot wow, it is awful. So far those little applesauce packets have been helpful by my bedside...but nothing "cures" the feeling that hangs around all day long. Bleh.

@runnerd: Known each other for 15 years, dated for 9 years, married for a few months now.
@Mrs squirreld: It will be such a relief to see/hear that little heartbeat. Hang in there girl!
@jetsa: Cranberry juice, but not one with a lot of sugar. I like the Apple & Eve juiceboxes. Ugh, UTI's are terrible. Feel better soon!
@MamaMagpie: yay for a happy appointment!!
clementine / 818 posts
@runnerd: I'm sorry your still struggling (I totally would be too), I still really think the HCG and the no cramping is a great sign!
Oh and DH and i have been together for 6 years, married for 2.
@Mrs squirreld: @MamaMagpie: Blech, I'm so sorry you ladies are feeling badly! I definitely have nausea but I haven't been throwing up or anything, so I hope it stays that way (knock on wood). Hope you girls start feeling better soon!
Also @MamaMagpie: woot woot for a great first appointment!

I may need to start a list of all the random grocery store purchases that have happened thus far in the pregnancy.
If you send a nauseous pregnant lady to the store, she might come home with....
persimmon / 1436 posts
@littlegbee: that sounds fun! Here are some things I've bought, none are super crazy, but all are things I've never ever purchased before! Let's see: Pepperidge Farm "carrot cake" cookies (and I'm gluten-free), V8 Fusion Lite, frozen polenta, three different kinds of applesauce (in the same shopping trip), Fiber One +Protein bars (thinly-veiled candy bars, but they looked SO much better than my regular protein bars!), and rice cakes (not so crazy, but I had to put them on here).
Let's hear your list!
apricot / 251 posts
@LittleGBee: nothing too crazy yet, but I have fallen in love with Yoplait whips! i cannot get enough of them.
Also last night I made two lasagnas and two cheesburger pies... perhaps a bit excessive. i used 2.5 lbs of cheese over all.
so maybe this should be "If you leave a pregnant lady alone in the kitchen, she might make..."
apricot / 446 posts
@LittleGBee: ...the giant box of honey nut cheerios, salt & vinegar pringles, and an EXTREME amount of ginger ale.

PSA: any of y'all been to old navy lately? Apparently tunic, flowy shirts on in for the spring. It's a first tri pregnant lady dream!
