@marionberry: Thanks! It went well! Chatted with the NP, had an exam and blood work. I go back the 13th for a u/s, since I turned down the genetic testing as of right now. My OB appt on the 21st will be chatting with her and hearing the HB!

I know several of you are runners and I need advice. I'm running a half tomorrow and I've been stopped up all week and can't breathe out of my nose. Any advice on how to make it through? Worst comes to worst, I'll walk. I have no intentions of PRing
Also I plan to wear Maxi dresses all summer too! I'm taller than a lot of you 5'5.5" but I've never felt comfortable in them before because of belly chub and teensy boobs

@jetsa: We are definitely Team Green! DH and I have always said that we would be, and I actually have no desire to find out until the birth. So exciting!

@runnerd - I am totally pumped about rocking the maxis. I have two that I am always self conscious of wearing but our Mexico trip puts me at 12 weeks when we are announcing to everyone and so it's acceptable to have a bump lol.
My jeans totally wouldn't button today :-(. Baby or too much ice cream, I can't tell.

Yay!!!!!! I finally feel like I'm gonna be a mama again!!
Had appt today and doctor was genuinely happy with progress and felt great about things! We saw a small pulsating spot that was the heart beat (hoping to get actually heart beat count next week when I go back - dr did u/s on old machine that wasn't fancy as the u/s tech's machine).
She also saw a small blood spot in uterus that she thinks is from the placenta not attaching perfectly, which she said is common and works its self out without harm to baby. Hopefully that is explanation for all the spotting.
Thanks to everyone who had prayed and sent well wishes this week. LONGEST WEEK OF MY LIFE.

@jetsa: no advice - usually the congestion feels better when I'm running, at least better than one would suspect! Hope you have a great half! I'm so jealous! I haven't run since 1/28, and no clearance from dr to start back. She only approved walking and yoga for exercise

@runnerd: That's what I read on runner's world so I'm guessing I'll be fine! I've slacked off majorly my last run was Jan. 28th also, I'm hoping this gets me back into the habit. I've been fighting this cold since then and being tired/sick I can't seem to drag myself out the door.
I'm soo excited that your appointment went so well! When do you go back? I'm the last appt on the list right now, I'll be almost 12 weeks at my next appt!
Also boo on the yoga/walking. Over the summer I got a dog to run with me so I need to start training her so she'll be ready before the baby gets here! -
So for those of you buying houses and baby stuff, did you have a large savings already or are you just trying to somehow make it all work? We were planning our tax return would be a bit larger, but now we're going to have to save about $2500 still for the house, and then hope people want to buy some of our baby furniture so that we can afford it all.

@marionberry: We've been searching for a home for a looooong time now. We had to put the home search on pause as the wedding got closer. Planning the wedding outside our full-time jobs took up enough of our time. So we already had the money set aside for the house. Now we need to tweak the budget a little each month to account for the baby (e.g. daycare and supplies).

@jetsa - I always operated under the premise that if my ailments were neck up, I ran - neck down, I rested. Then again I haven't ran while pregnant so I'm not much help. Good luck on your half!!
@marionberry - we have saved a lot these past few years - for a down payment, emergency fund, etc. We are test driving SUVs and house shopping and it is frankly overwhelming though!! DH is a master budgeted though (thank goodness because I'm so not) and he keeps showing me the numbers to calm me down.
I wonder how much the baby will realistically cost us the first year - I assume we will be gifted many of the things the websites list - but I would hate to not anticipate all costs and get slapped by it when the baby comes!

I just had my girlfriends over tonight ... one of them just announced last week that she was pregnant so we spent the whole time talking about babies, etc. It was sooooo hard not to tell them that I'm 8 weeks also!!! I really wanted to but DH wants to wait until we hear the heartbeat. I am so hoping that at our appointment this Friday (!!!!) we get to hear or see something.
@runnerd: Those are adorable!! So much fun! Ummm and THANK YOU for the elastic band tip. Totally saved me today when I couldn't do up any of my pants and was tired of wearing yoga pants, lol.
Is 8 weeks too early to have the beginning of a bump? I swear I have one. I have been eating more healthy these past few weeks too so if it was a food baby it shouldn't be getting any bigger!

@runnerd: I have the belly book and love it! I'm not planning on putting any belly pics in there though until I have a sizeable bump.
@char54: Right now my stomach seems to be growing but I'm pretty sure it's not my bump, lol.

@char54: my belly seems to be growing, yet I haven't put on any weight.. i feel GIANT though... can't wear most of my pants anymore without major discomfort... I have resorted to yoga pants and long stretchy skirts.! I am going to a cousin's wedding at 10 weeks and I am terrified people will be able to tell ( I don't want to steal her thunder!!)
@runnerd: I have heard great reviews about those books!! I'm doing my own DYI photo book as a pregnancy journal.. not every week will have bump shots... more things that were happening. I can share if anyone is interested.

@Mrs squirreld: You know I'd love to see! My thought is that I'll use The Belly Book to get the information and then later make a custom photobook too.
Is anyone else not sleeping well? I'm getting up 4-5 times a night to pee and having really vivid dreams.

@marionberry: I almost never dream and last night I had such a funny dream. I went to a movie theatre and every time someone walked in late they re-started the movie. I went out to complain, played tag with a person who could tell me where management was, I yelled at management, got new tickets, but told them that I would never come back and the only reason I was taking those tickets was so that they would lose money.
Not really sure what was going on with my subconscious last night, but apparently it was really combative and wanted to stick it to the man.

Hello Everyone, it's been awhile since I've posted. I've been busy at work and then out of town for a mini vaca in AZ. I've been following the board though and my heart goes out to those who have had losses. I am so happy to see so much good news lately! Congrats on all those healthy little beans!
My morning sickness and fatigue have gotten much worse since about 7 weeks. Work has been almost unbearable. I never throw up but I'm nauseous all the time. I've lost weight, so no need for bigger pants yet. I go to sleep at 7 nightly and I'm still exhausted the next day. And last night I had a dream I had my baby but I was totally unprepared. No onesies, no diapers, no blankets, no crib, just a naked baby. I told my husband to rush to the store for diapers and he said he would pick them up after getting a workout in at the gym. That of course made me mad, so I decided to walk to the grocery store, which happened to be the grocery store I grew up shopping at as a child which I haven't been to in 10+ years. Very weird!
Just a few more days until my first appointment! I can't wait!

@Colee: Yay. Can't wait to hear how your first appointment goes! I had a dream like that the other night. Apparently had twins early and had nothing to feed them with, clean them with, etc. I was super stressing out.

The other night I dreamt I was peeing (sorry, TMI) and I was peeing for soo long that catfish swam up the pipe into the toilet bowl and started chomping at me with piranha teeth. I'm not even sure I want to try interpreting that one...

And whoever asking about sleeping before - I haven't had a good nights sleep in two weeks.
So my newest complaint is starvation. Lol. I am so hungry constantly! I want to get my eating healthier but I just want to eat constantly. I have a never ending hunger pain, even right after a big meal. And nothing tastes that great. This morning I had a big bowl of cereal and 45 min later at work I was so hungry I wanted to cry out of anger, so I had to eat one of my afternoon snacks. And I STILL have the hunger pains. It just won't go away. /rant over.
