Holy hell, when is the morning sickness supposed to end? I feel like it's gotten worse these last two weeks...isn't it supposed to end now? I even got sick in public today. Maybe I'll get really lucky and have it my entire pregnancy. Ughhhhhhhh. I miss food

@MamaMagpie: I had a couple of really really bad days this past weekend, but my m/s is still very present and accounted for. It lasted until week 16 with my daughter, so we'll see on this one.

@LittleGBee: ugh, I feel for you! If I could just know there would be an end date (I guess I'm thinking sometime sooner than delivery!) it might make it easier...I kept thinking "ok, you can deal with this until 12/13 weeks" to keep my spirits up, and now I'm thinking "it will neeeevvvvveerrrrrr endddddd". Haha a little dramatic I guess. It's encouraging to know yours stayed past the "normal" end time but not for too much longer!

@MamaMagpie: @LittleGBee: 15 weeks today here and I though I was over the morning sickness - but apparently not! Hopefully it won't last much longer now; take heart though - it's definitely got much better in recent weeks! I find if I get too hot once I'm awake that's what tends to set me off... I can usually avoid it by trying to cool myself down.

can i just say, that all i really want is one good night's sleep. been waking up at 3am every morning, unable to go back to sleep - this morning woke up with a sore throat

@mrsmoreau: aw hugs, sorry you're not feeling well - I had a sore throat at the start of the week... get plenty of fluids and try hot lemon and honey, hopefully it won't stay long!

@mrsmoreau: You poor thing. I hope you feel better soon. I haven't been able to get comfortable in bed in a month. I seem to just roll from side to side over and over and I'm sure this will get worse not better.

Has anyone realized, now that you can feel the placenta, that your current baby bump is just the fat you had lower in your body all pushed up along with your organs? I feel this is me right now. That bump isn't baby at all minus the very bottom.

@marionberry: can you explain what you mean by being able to feel the placenta? (though mine is apparently anterior so perhaps feels different) I'm curious - my bump definitely feels different through the course of the day... It's squishy in the mornings but quite firm by the afternoon/evening!
@mrsmoreau: Props to you for gargling salt water, just the thought made me nauseous so I couldn't bring myself to do it!

@evenstar982: So I'm at 14 weeks, meaning my placenta is only a little higher than the top of my pubic bone. It goes up in height the width of two fingers every 2 weeks, so by now the top of yours is probably closer to your belly button. If I press down hard I can feel my hard placenta and when it starts feeling squishy that means it's no longer my placenta. So today this reminded me that since my placenta is about 2" below my belly button, most of my "bump" is above my placenta, meaning it isn't made up of baby. My bump does get bigger and perhaps a bit more firm in the afternoon but Idk why. Fuller stomach maybe?

I have been having some mild cramping today and am chalking it up to things just starting to really stretch our (I am 13 weeks 3 days).

@marionberry: hmmm; ok so it's 11pm here - my bump feels pretty firm and the same from just above my public bone all the way up and over my belly button... Maybe that's what an anterior placenta feels like?! I'm always amazed how the midwives can tell anything just by prodding!

We are heading to "the city" (ha, of 50,000 people) this weekend to get some maternity clothes and check out gear. DH has come down with a nasty bug though so I hope he's feeling better by Saturday!

@evenstar982: Ya maybe that's what an anterior one is like. Google can probably help. I just googled about it last night, but didn't pay any particular focus to placenta location. I actually have no idea if mine is posterior or anterior. Crazy that your midwives could tell. And yay for 15 weeks!

Hope everyone is doing ok. I have been a bit out of the loop with this thread as my Sister has been visiting this week and I've not had time for HB! She is the only family member we've told so far and whilst she's very excited for us, she was quite open about not liking our girl name choices... So I've decided from now on not to tell anyone we know in person what we're thinking!
I've given up wondering what is going on with my bump! Like @MrsClownfish: said, it looks like my pooch is being pushed higher. By the evening I look huge and bloated!
I'm really struggling with nausea this week. I was actually sick Monday and Tuesday which I haven't been since like week 9. The morning's are the worst... I find I need to keep eating regularly otherwise I'll feel worse. It's hard because I barely have an appetite and am still craving mostly sweets and coke! I feel like I'm going to be feeling nauseous until September at this rate!
Does anyone have plans for Easter? US bees, do you get much time off work?

@illumina: No time off for me, but I work for a hospital. I told my sister our baby girl name and she didn't like it either. I just said, well too bad because that's what it's gonna be. It does annoy you though when people can't just keep their mouths shut about their negative opinions. Hope you start feeling better!

@illumina: Oh no! I hope you are feeling better soon. The nausea is gone for me, but fatigue is still lingering.
DH's family is coming up to celebrate with my family for Easter. We get Good Friday and Easter Monday off so a nice long weekend. We are hoping to get into the house we bought last month to show his family our new digs!
@marionberry: I told my dad our girl name and he goes "ehhhh" and I said "no really, we really love that name" and then he goes "OMG I LOVE IT!!!" Hahaha. He's been calling the baby that now so I guess it's growing on him!! I'm deliberately being sneaky about our boy name since it is my maiden name so I will want to surprise everyone (especially my family) if LO is a boy.

How's everyone going? I feel like I've missed a ton. It was hard to keep checking on my phone as alot of the time whilst on holidays I had no reception!
Hows everyone going with buying things? Anyone made any big purchases? We made our first big buy, we bought our stroller. We got the Baby Jogger Citi Mini. I LOOOVE it. We are currently also looking for our cot and glider. I have also started a list of everything we will need so I can tick stuff off and then when people ask what we need I can tell them off the list.
It is pretty overwelming though!We pretty much has a girl name and a boy name picked... but like PP said we aren't telling anyone. We don't want peoples negative thoughts on names we love.

We actually started working on a list of everything today but we haven't picked out the brands we want for most things yet.

I'm all good no need to worry! The stroller was actually quite easy as far as reviews and what we wanted it for it was the top pick within our budget! We just had to shop around and find the best price! And I LOVE that its green! You must be super excited about your 15w appt... do you get an us?

@Mrs squirreld: I don't think so, which sucks. I have a feeling we won't get an ultrasound/gender reveal until 19 weeks so we're thinking of getting an elective one at 17 weeks at a local center. I just want to know so badly!! I love your green stroller! We just got a black one, but the car seat we want is green. I figure it's a great gender neutral color!

Glad your trip was good, I've had the last two weeks off work but we only managed a weekend away as DH had to work most of the time, it keeps snowing here and I could really do with some sunshine! -

@evenstar982: yeah we couldn't decide but in the end for us the GT just wasn't worth the extra( DH is a little shorter than me).. and they are soo much more expensive here in Australia

My mom and I went to the city yesterday to do some shopping. I got to try out the uppababy vista in person and fell in love all over again - glad to know I like it as much as I thought I would! I really like the Jade color but DH doesn't - I told him it looks so much nicer in person than online but he's not buying it. We will probably go red.
I also went and bought some maternity clothes as OMG they are comfortable. I don't know if Ill ever wear regular pants again, hahah. I tried on the fake belly they have and sent DH a picture...he was quite shocked!! Lol. I'm just glad to have clothes that fit-all last week I dreaded getting dressed because I felt like I was stuffing into way too small clothes.
