@char54: @Mrs squirreld: The elastic waistband is my new favourite fashion trend I may also never go back to regular pants!

@illumina: We spent two nights in a posh hotel in London and just did some shopping and sightseeing - but the weather has been so miserable lately all I want to do is curl up by a fire with a good book!

@char54: I agree! Maternity pants are the best! I was thinking the other day that I wish we could wear pants like that all the time. I went online shopping this weekend and bought a pair of maternity khakis, maternity khaki capris, and maternity black leggings for work. Finding enough work maternity clothes is the worst.

My stepdaughter (she's older than me, lol) gave me two pair of maternity jeans she had but I need to get another pair or two that are a little more me. Does anyone have any brands they really like?

@marionberry: Nice!! Do you have Thyme in the states? They had a buy one/ get one promotion on jeans when I was there yesterday. I got a pair of boot cut and a pair of skinny jeans. They are seriously more comfortable than my yoga pants!

I'm struggling with work clothes too - I'm a teacher so really only need clothes to get me through April/May and a bit of June. I didn't want to buy too much, but I need SOMETHING to wear. I tried to buy things that I could wear in the summer as well.

@marionberry: You guys are so lucky in the states! Thyme is the one and only store within a 600km radius, lol. My options are limited! luckily they had a pretty good selection and a lot of stuff on sale.

I had my breastfeeding course tonight and it wasn't nearly as preachy or judgmental as I thought it would be. I explained about my breast reduction and the lady was super nice about finding ways to increase my milk supply if I'm having issues once the baby comes. Phew!!

so happy today!!! we had our 15 week check up -all is going great! Our NT results came back very low risk so thats great too.
saw little bub again and we could see him/her kicking! so very cool! anddddddd my blood pressure is back to normal so no drugs or worrying about that!! huge relief! cant believe we'll know the sex next month...where is time going?? next check up we'll be making our booking into the hospital incase we don't move.

@char54: glad all was good with your class..i cant wait for classes!!!!

has anyone felt bub move yet?? i've had some maybe moments ( especially when laying on stomach) but i cant be sure!

    pomelo / 5469 posts

@Mrs squirreld: congrats on the great appt and news! Our NT results came back a week ago and they were also v low risk. You're right, time is really flying now considering it started off so slowly up to 12wks! Less than 3wks now until we find out the sex! No movement yet though, I tried to lie on my back last night and feel anything, but I guess I fell asleep before I did

Can I just say that I am in love with my Snoogle. I was having so much trouble sleeping before and had some serious pain from pressure points on my hips and I'd toss and turn all night. I read mixed reviews, seems like people either love it or hate it so I wasn't sure if I should spend the money. So glad I did. I'm sleeping through the whole night most of the time (except those nights when nature calls lol).

@Mrs squirreld: I'm so glad your appointment went well and you're no longer dealing with that bad high blood pressure. Is there a chance you won't move now?! I have been searching for things which might be my baby moving, but I don't think I've really felt it yet.
@illumina: I'm glad your NT results came back great.
@maplemoose: I'm glad you like your snoogle. I've certainly debated getting one. I haven't been sleeping (toss and turning a lot) but I'm thinking it may be that we need to flip our mattress. I'm going to try that first, but if that's not it, I'm sure to be off to buy a snoogle shortly myself.

@Mrs squirreld: Awesome!! That must have been an awesome apt. I would love to see our little baby again - I have to wait until our 20 week scan.

So I guess I officially look pregnant - I went to the library this afternoon and the clerk asked me how far along I was. Then I went to the chocolate shop and the lady there asked me if I was pregnant. There's no hiding this bump!!! lol

  16. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@char54: That's so exciting though! People at work keep asking if I'm showing yet, but given my work clothes, I think what little bump I have is well hidden. I'm really excited for when I look visibly pregnant.

  17. illumina

    pomelo / 5469 posts

@char54: I feel the same... It has really made an appearance the past couple of days.

Bought my first two pairs of maternity jeans today... So comfy, I may never be able to go back to regular!

@MapleMoose I love my snoogle......too bad it doesn't help with me having to get up every few hours to pee during the night

  19. illumina

    pomelo / 5469 posts

Oh, I meant to say on my previous post... In addition to the maternity jeans, I also bought 5 t-shirts today. That's not weird in itself, BUT they are all blue. I didn't realise until I got home and laid them out on the bed. Usually I hate blue and have never as far as I can't remember bought a blue top or dress before.

Then seeing them all together, I gasped... "We're having a boy! I just know it now!" DH thought this was hilarious and said "in any case, you should be buying blue for the baby not yourself!"

  20. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@illumina: HEHE that's so cute! I'm so curious to find out what you're having now! I can't believe we're all getting close to finding out.

  21. illumina

    pomelo / 5469 posts

@marionberry: I know!! I have total respect for those that are team green, but for me I think I need to know so I can pick a name and start feeling more connected to our baby. Have you decided whether to get the earlier scan?

  22. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@illumina: No. We go into our OB this Thursday for our 15 week appointment and I'm going to see if we'd have to wait until 19 weeks to do the scan. If he'll do it early, or let me schedule it to be done at the hospital early, I'll probably do that instead. The elective place will see me at 17 weeks so at the earliest that's when I'll get it done.

  23. illumina

    pomelo / 5469 posts

@marionberry: oh I hope you can have it early. The hospital wouldn't see me until ideally 20wks and I had to convince them to bring it forward to 19+1 otherwise I'd be almost 22wks when I got back from holiday. I know you think it's most likely to be a boy, but do you have a gut feeling either way?

  24. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@illumina: I've known most girls here to get them done about 18 weeks, so that shouldn't be a problem I hope. I have no gut feeling really, although I always call it a her and have dreams it's a girl, so part of me says girl, but I'm just prepared to be wrong. DH swears it's a girl. I'm open to boy or girl but my mom has been adamant to finally get a girl grandkid and has basically put a bounty out to the first person in our family to have one and I'm just hoping it's a girl so it gets the attention from her it deserves.

Morning or Evening!! (depending on where you are!) Total group hug this morning, I feel so positive as our month moves into the 2nd trimester! I"m just a bubble of happiness today after we outed ourselves to the rest of our friends and family last night We will probably FB out ourselves in the next day or so. eeekK!!

@char54: I can't wait for someone who doesn't know me to ask me how far along I am!! That will be a great moment... the moment I officially feel like I have a bump and not just that I had too much dinner! lol
@illumina: Thats so cute! I wonder if you ARE having a boy! That would be freaky! I"m am sooo undecided now. DH is still convinced we are having a boy, but I keep going back and forth..but if we go on the skin rule I must be having a boy because my skin has never been so clear and zit free! It's awesome! lol
@marionberry: I feel so guilty that I saw my baby twice in 3 weeks and you haven't seen yours in weeks! YOu must be sooo excited for your next scan! There IS a chance we won't move before baby is born as it depends on DH's job location vacancy... but I would much rather move pregnant than move with a newborn but we'll just have to see! Got to love the unknown

  26. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@Mrs squirreld: I'm so glad you have great energy and great skin. My acne seems to come and go, but lately it's been great. Ya I haven't seen our baby since 11w and it's going to kill me to wait until 19w. I'm so anxious to see our baby! I'm happy that you've gotten to see yours a lot though. I agree that moving before a newborn would be easiest, but at least this way you get to stick with your current doctor and your current hospital right?

  27. Mrs squirreld

    nectarine / 2522 posts

@marionberry: well current doctor no.... as she is also pregnant and leaves for mat leave in two months so I would be switched to a different doctor (same practice though) and that's not the doctor you are guaranteed for the birth anyway (it will be whoever is on call that day!) So that side of things doesn't really bother me... and because we live in the country no matter if we move or not all the hospitals are pretty much that same!

  28. illumina

    pomelo / 5469 posts

@marionberry: my dreams have been only girl too, but everything else screams boy. I'm sure your LO will get plenty of attention from your Mum regardless

@Mrs squirreld: group hug!!! Your post made me smile so excited you got to reveal to the World. We'll probably do the same next week. I didn't realise having good skin meant boy as well! My skin has been pretty perfect since I got my bfp too.

  29. Mrs squirreld

    nectarine / 2522 posts

@illumina: apparently the old wives tale says " a baby girl will steal your beauty for herself!" So if you have bad skin you're having a girl if you have good skin you're having a boy! But like all old wives tales I'm sure it doesn't have much merit.

  30. illumina

    pomelo / 5469 posts

@Mrs squirreld: I totally did not know that! This sounds terrible but I'm mentally going through people I know that have been preg recently and comparing how they looked with the gender of their child! And... you could be on to something there!

@illumina: @Mrs squirreld: My skin has been horrible. We've done several of the old wives tales and they are 50/50 lol. My linea negra has already shown up too!

  34. illumina

    pomelo / 5469 posts

@jetsa: I've been on Linea Negra watch this week after being sure I can see the start of something below my belly button.

  35. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@jetsa: I come out really 50/50 too. Symptom wise I'm primarily girl but Mayan calendar and Chinese calendar both say boy. No linea negra yet for me but the area beneath my belly button gets itchy from time to time. Does anyone else have that?

  36. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@illumina: Mine! Mine is half as deep as it used to be. It's going to be weird eventually seeing myself with an outie. I have a belly button piercing too, so I'm going to have to remove that pretty soon.

  37. jetsa

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@marionberry: @illumina: My belly button still looks normal so far. I also have my belly button piereced and am trying to decide to take it out or get an extender.

  38. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@jetsa: I think I'm taking mine out. As much as I've had it so long I really don't know what my belly looks like without it, I really don't see myself with a flabby post-baby tummy rocking a belly button ring. I have heard you can just put fishing line through it and tie it in a knot to keep the hole open if you decide to keep yours though.

  39. jetsa

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@marionberry: that's my main reason for thinking about keeping it. I've had it 9 years and really don't remember what my stomach looked like without it.

Is anyone else thinking about doing a virtual registry? I think we are going to do babyli.st (that is the website) that way we can add stuff from ANYWHERE (etsy, etc.) and people can heck different price points and also order items from amazon

the only downside seems to that I have to expect people to be as technologically savvy as I am and not wait until the day before to my shower to go to the store to pick something up
