@char54: I got it from a place called spotlight in Australia... It's like a big craft & fabric superstore. I'm pretty sure you don't have it in Canada

We had the Level II ultrasound today. Doctor said the two cysts are still in the brain but my bloodwork came back with a low risk and everything else with baby is healthy/normal so the doctor "isn't concerned" anymore!! We don't have to continue following the cysts and she said they won't affect development at all. Such a MASSIVE relief!!

    Aaaaaaaaaand..........

I just wrote my Birth Plan (uh what), because I have my first prenatal meeting with my doula tonight. Ahh we are getting there, 2.5 weeks until vday for me! Some of our early mamas are probably there already!

@jetsa: Can't wait to hear how it goes with your doula!

So I'm debating between 2 weeks for our baby shower, it's a little scary how soon everything seems to be! I realized when trying to let people know what weekends were free, that almost every weekend we have something going on all the way through August! This is going to be a crazy summer! Does anyone else have dates for their showers? Is everyone having one?

  21. jetsa

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@marionberry: everything Ive read is 24 weeks

  22. jetsa

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@MrsStormy: OMG yes crazy summer is right. We have dates. We're technically having 3 which is crazy in and of itself but my family is all over. So I'm going to them, instead of them traveling.

  23. MrsStormy

    clementine / 818 posts

@jetsa: So what are your dates, the date that I would prefer, I will only be 29 weeks, and I'm not sure if thats too early.

  24. jetsa

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@MrsStormy: June 30, and July 13, 14. My sis is in IL from SC June 30 so that chose that date and if we waited until August we were going to be at the very end so I opted for early. I'll be 28 and 30 weeks. Early but I'm not being superstitious about it

  25. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@jetsa: Cool! Only 1.5 weeks for me!
@mrsstormy: My baby showers are July 14 and August 3rd. The August one is a little late, but hopefully this baby decides to stay in full term. My mom is throwing one and my stepmom is throwing the other, since they don't get along. DH's family lives far away and his parents are deceased so I don't think we're doing any with his side.

  26. jetsa

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@marionberry: @MrsStormy: It sounds like we are all on close to the same schedule for showers.

I know we have all been worried about weight. I just found this weight gain tracker tool that was pretty cool that I thought I'd share.

    http://www.babycenter.com/pregnancy-weight-gain-estimator

Also this one is pretty cool too because it shows you the actual numbers you should be at by every 2 weeks (including minimum, maximum and average).

Oh and the weirdest thing happened today. My hair was really wet after I got out of the shower so I leaned back to squeeze some of it in the sink. When I did so it was like this giant mass pushed out from the middle of my upper belly. I swear it looked like something from The Exorcist. Not sure if it's baby related or an ab issue. Someone else should lean back and tell me if this happens to them too or not. Super weird.

  29. MapleMoose

    grapefruit / 4213 posts

@MrsStormy: Thanks! No shower date yet, but we did get my MIL to give us an estimated head count for the guest list, so that's a start.

@marionberry: Hahaha whaaat?! Hmm...no abdominal mass when I lean back.

  30. MrsStormy

    clementine / 818 posts

@jetsa: @marionberry: Haha interestingly enough the weekend I am looking at is July 13th as well.

  31. illumina

    pomelo / 5469 posts

@marionberry: Lol! I know exactly what you're referring to! I've noticed this since about 16wks. If I lean back or when I'm getting up from laying down my belly gets more cone shaped. It freaked me out at first, but like most weird pregnancy things I soon get used to it!

  32. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@illumina: Ya I think I've just never leaned back enough or paid much attention. It was just unexpected.

  33. MamaMagpie

    persimmon / 1436 posts

@MrsStormy: yes, it's so real now! Also, my shower is set for July 20 and I'll be 31+3. I can't believe how quickly time is flying by!!!

@marionberry: that is crazy! I'm going to see if it happens to me as soon as I get off the couch

@marionberry: Have you noticed that these two pregnancy weight gain calculators are different? I'm at the top of the range for one of them but at the bottom in the other....

  35. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@fert: I was under the minimum on one and average on the other. One is from Australia abs the other is from the US so maybe they have different weight gain guidelines?
@mamamagpie: it's easier to see for me in the morning before my belly has chubbed up. Speaking of which I swear my belly has grown a ton in the last week. Is anyone else suddenly feeling huge?

  36. MamaMagpie

    persimmon / 1436 posts

@fert: I forgot to say hi! Welcome!!!

@marionberry: I swear my bump has doubled in size in the last week! I feel like it's finally round and cute

  37. evenstar982

    @fert: welcome!

@marionberry: thanks for those links, I'd been a bit worried my bump doesn't seem to be getting much bigger fast enough but been told twice this week everything is bang on track, and by those two sites I come out right on average as well which is reassuring

@maplemoose: @colee: great news about your girls! My MW said yesterday at my appointment that our LO "sounds like a girl, but heartrate indicates boy" so we still have all bets to play for here in Team-Greensville!

@MrsStormy: My shower isn't until 10th August because we have a few out of town guests I wanted to include and that was best for them. I'm glad I'll have finished work by then so hopefully it won't be too tiring bearing in mind I'll be 35 weeks by then, eep! I live in hope of baby arriving AFTER 1st September though since that's the school-year cut off here in the UK and I'd rather they be eldest in their class if at all possible.

I'm 24 weeks tomorrow, does that mean I can officially say "baby" and not "fetus" now?!

  38. fert

    olive / 72 posts

@marionberry: I think, for myself, that since I was overweight before pregnancy, the American based calculator might take into account that one isn't supposed to gain as much weight? Also, yes, all of a sudden, there's a noticeable increase in girth lately.... I even got one of those newsletters from whattoexpect or babycenter saying that around week 21 there might be an expected growth. I figured it was normal

    @mamamagpie: Hello!! **waves frantically**

@evenstar982: Howdy! And you can officially call him/her whatever you feel like. And I'll beat up anyone who says otherwise!

  39. evenstar982

    apricot / 284 posts

@fert: lol, well DH calls baby "the colonel" - it started after I said something about popcorn sensations (and that kind of kernel) and has morphed into the military term since when s/he arrives, s/he's "gonna run stuff" according to DH! lol!

Anyone else have funny nicknames for the bump?

  40. jetsa

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@evenstar982: haha thats funny. I tried to make the bean stick, but it didn't so now its just the baby or the babe.
