@MrsKoala: very true!! I feel bad about wishing this time away but I just want to feel better. I'm home with LO for Presidents' Day and omg I've never been so freaking exhausted. We had EI, went shopping, played in the snow, baked cookies, and watched some tv. I texted DH and was like coooooome hoooooome. I couldn't SAH, mad props to the SAHMs!!

@MrsKoala: and that's funny your family suspected at Christmas! I think 2nd babies are always anticipated. We didn't have a big surprise reaction with our second even though it was so soon after our first.

Hey guys. I spent most of today in the ER. I had some spotting yesterday along with a low-grade fever and backache. I was diagnosed with a UTI and a sub-chorionic hemorrhage. On the plus side, I did get to see bub and things look a-ok in there. I saw the heartbeat too! 136.

@Applesandbananas: I also could not SAH. I feel like that requires creativity and stamina, which I don't have.

@skipra: Ahhh... I've never tried anything else so I'm curious as to what it will be like. I do suspect that I might not love it because I don't love a ton of sauce but I'm excited to try it! You're totally right that people just expect that second kid. I feel like the fam was going to start asking questions soon about when the next kid was going to come anyway.

@avivoca: glad you are home (i'm hoping). Hope antibiotics clear everything up and that hemorrhage goes away quickly!

@MrsKoala: I am home. Thank goodness! The pills make me sick though.

I can't wait to get to the second trimester. I feel so crappy all the time. I know I am sick and that is feeding into it, but I am ready to not feel sick and tired all the time. My pregnancy with H was a cakewalk.

At least I'm taking tomorrow off.

@avivoca: I was just on a round of antibiotics for a UTI and they were horrible! I hope you get to feeling better soon!

@MrsKoala: I'm so so exhausted from being home with him yesterday. I feel like I constantly just cleaned up mess after mess. I wish I could take today off, but this week is super busy, we had two appts for LO yesterday, one today, a huge preschool assessment tomorrow, and another appt Thursday, all that I have to take off some time for. I'm feeling really rundown.

@avivoca: How are you feeling today?

@Applesandbananas: That sounds like a lot to balance when you're not sick and pregnant on top of it. Hope all the appointments go smoothly.

@skipra: I feel better on the UTI front and haven't had any more spotting, but the antibiotic's chief side effect is nausea. So my morning sickness has turned into all-day nausea. I woke up in the middle of the night because my stomach was rolling.

Glad the uti seems better but sorry about the antibiotics side effects! That sounds like how I feel all the time and I would not wish it on anyone. The waking up morn sick is awful! How long are you on them?

  13. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

@skipra: 6.5 more days... Not that I'm counting or anything. Just have to keep food/water in my stomach at all times. I'm going to explode out of my work clothes.

@avivoca: I can commiserate with everything you are saying (without the added yuckiness of sickness..). I'm mentally and physically exhausted from feeling sick all the time. I've even found myself randomly crying about it. I personally think this time is a lot harder than the first pregnancy, too. Especially with all of the demands in our lives with having a toddler. At least the first time, I could wallow in my sickness and sleep all the time. Now I don't have that luxury. I'm counting down the days to just feel normal again.

@avivoca: which antibiotic are you on? I was on cephalaxin or something like that and it made me so dizzy and sick.

@MrsKoala: Yes to everything you said. You put it much better than I could have.

@avivoca: How is the spotting? I hope the SCH clear up soon. What did the doctor say about it?

  18. Applesandbananas

@avivoca: I'm not familiar with that one. I hope you're feeling a little better after a day to rest!

@avivoca: I'm so sorry. That is scary, but I'm glad everything is okay and you got to see the baby. Hope you are feeling better.

I had my follow-up appointment today from my ER visit. The midwife said that everything looks fine on the ultrasound and that it measured me as 7 weeks, 1 day. I'm 8 weeks tomorrow, but she said that it wasn't a problem because ultrasounds have a +/- 5 day window and my HCG was over 55k. Baby also has a strong heartbeat. I got dicleges (sp?) for my nausea, so that's great!

    ETA: My spotting is gone.

  21. MrsKoala

@avivoca: Great news! Hope the diclegis works for you!

@avivoca: Sounds like your appointment went well! Try not to worry too much about the ultrasound. At mine they dated me as 7+6 but I thought I was closer to 8.5 weeks. Hope the diclegis works for you! It has made a huge difference for me.

How's everybody doing? Any big plans for the weekend?

I'm having a hard time getting over a cold but the nausea seems to be slowing a little. I'm 10w2d and the end of the first trimester is in sight!

We decided to do an elective ultrasound at 15w for gender, we can take LO to the elective ultrasound, which we really like the idea of... But you know how that kind of thing goes lol he might just run around like a monkey!

I am so hesitant to say this, but I am going on my second day in a row of almost no nausea! Last time it came and went a bit before it was finally over, but I almost feel like myself today. Still a lot of bloating/indigestion, but I'll settle for that.

The hubby and I are going to see Deadpool tonight and I am very excited to actually go sit through a movie and enjoy it instead of curling up in a ball on the couch.

  25. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

@tlcbaby: I'm feeling that way too, but in a way I'm worried. On one hand, since I feel flipping fantastic compared to a few days ago, it makes me wonder how long I had this UTI for. It could just be my anti-nausea meds though.

8 weeks! Less than three weeks until my official first appointment, where I will get my official due date.

  26. tlcbaby

    nectarine / 2750 posts

@avivoca: They offered me the medication yesterday, but since I was feeling not horrible I decided to hold off a few days. If it comes back, I may try it.

They scheduled me for an ultrasound next week since I am not 100% sure how far along I am so I guess I'll get a more exact due date next week!

Glad that some of you guys are feeling better! No changes here. I'll be 11 weeks tomorrow. NT scan is on Leap Day so if that goes well we will tell everyone (family already knows). No plans for the weekend. LO got the flu this week so we will probably lay low.

  28. skipra

10 weeks today and I think maybe the morning sickness has peaked. I am still really nauseous in the afternoon and evening but haven't gotten sick in a few days so crossing all my fingers and toes that keeps up. Worst thing is I am ravenous around lunchtime and seem to be gaining weight just this week.
Am I ever out of shape from all the sitting on the couch the last few weeks! We had playgroup this morning and it was just a mile away so we walked but I was so out of breath going up the hills. I ciuld not even imagine running or crossfire right now! You girls are so amazing.

@MrsKoala: hope your LO recovers soon. How sad for you to see him sick

@tlcbaby: that's great you are feeling better! And exciting you get another ultrasound so soon!

@Applesandbananas: ahh stupid colds! Sounds like a great plan for your u/s. Can they really tell at 15 weeks?

  30. Applesandbananas

    pomegranate / 3845 posts

@skipra: yep!! We found out at 16w with LO!

  31. skipra

    pomegranate / 3350 posts

@Applesandbananas: wow! We found out early with LO2 but I didn't realize they could tell so soon!

I have to decide whether to do the Panorama test or NT. I know Panorama is more accurate but fx that the baby is healthy I really do not want to find out and it makes me nervous that the sex would be in my file and someone would slip. What would you guys do?

  32. MrsKoala

    cantaloupe / 6869 posts

@skipra: if it helps, my plan is to do NT and then if there's anything concerning, then we'll do one of the more thorough tests. I also don't want to know and I know at the NT they won't speculate so we'll be safe. And thank you, he was miserable yesterday but seems back to his regular crazy self today.

@MrsKoala: thanks. It does help. That's kind of how I'm leaning too. Glad your little guy seems better today!

Ughhhhhh I'm stuck at work. It's going to be a 12-13 hour day because of an event. I am soooooooooo exhausted already. Hopefully they let me go early.

Hi everyone! I'm joining over here from the weddingbee September boards. They aren't very active because they are all in a Facebook group, and I'm not getting invited lol

My due date is September 20th and this is my third child. I have two boys ages 2 and a half and the other just turning 1!

I'm obviously hoping for a girl, but predict it's another boy based on my dream right before getting pregnant with my first about having three boys one after the other. Seems to be coming true

This was a surprise pregnancy, we actually thought two was enough right before I took my test. Haha. I actually screamed "S#%*!" A million times in the bathroom.

If you all have a Facebook group, I would love to join! It's much easier to keep up that way! Here's a couple pics of my kiddos

@Applesandbananas: my 3D ultrasound is scheduled at 14 weeks and I'll find out the sex. I'm literally counting the days! Lol it's just...five weeks from now

@intotheocean: Congrats! Are you going to find out what you are having?

  38. Applesandbananas

    pomegranate / 3845 posts

@intotheocean: so exciting! I'd considered being team green but DH wasn't into it!

I'm also a carrier for a gene variant that has affected DS and we have a lower chance of a girl being affected so I'm also anxious to find out for that reason too. If it's a boy, there is a 50/50 shot he will also be affected, but it's more like a 25% chance for a girl. It's nothing we would terminate over, but it's been quite a journey with DS so I'm kind of hoping LO2 isn't affected. If he/she is, it'll all work out and he/she and DS will have an incredible bond because of it.

@intotheocean: Congrats and welcome! I also have two boys and suspect another boy. We are going team green if everything looks healthy because it's my last chance for that big delivery room moment. But I think if I were hoping for a girl I'D need to find out early too!

@tlcbaby: yes! I need to prepare! If it's another boy I need to get into the zone. And if it's a girl I need to go shopping! Lol

@skipra: two boys are so fun! But I am secretly hoping for a girl. But, I won't be surprised if it's a boy! And I'll have everything I will need
