@Smurfette: I hate it when DH snores. I just poke him till he rolls over. I love how much they seem to be figuring out. Such little people now.
@blackbird: The party looks like it come out wonderfully.
So H has figured out how to turn in a circle. She is so close to moving but will only use her right foot so just goes around. It's hilarious. She came so close at her cake smash. I really hope it doesn't happen tomorrow when MIL is here.
I know I have posted a lot of pics lately but here's one more

@AprilFool: Oh my, the cuteness! Love all the details!
@silver1: Hope you get that charger soon!
@Silva: Wishing you a great party! We did really low key too and loved it!
@Smurfette: @travellingbee: That is so cool R & L know what to do when they hear the song. B will just try to sing along in his baby babble (which in my book is pretty cute too )

@Smurfette: Awww, that's so adorable! That's cool she's learning so much at school! And her looking for DH is so cute! Xander does this with Hubs too - he'll climb the stairs and go right over to Hubs desk and look for him! It's sad, but sweet!
@Silva: Wow, that's crazy how he knew how to climb stairs even though you don't have them in the house! I guess some things just come naturally to some babies!
@silver1: Thank you!!
@AprilFool: Oh my gosh, that picture is AWESOME!!!! H is such a cute baby!!! I mean... toddler.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Also, ugh, but I think I might be drying up. Xander's been pretty fussy at the boob the last couple days and he doesn't seem to be nursing for as long. I'm happy to have made it to our goal of a year, but I'm still sad at the thought this might be over soon.

@Silva: R was the same way with stairs. First time she climbed up the stairs like Duh Mom, I know what I am doing. She tries to walk down them but her legs aren't long enough.
Have fun this weekend at the party!
@AprilFool: love love that picture. Seriously one pretty cake!

@Adira: I've heard it happens when someone has their BFP Maybe your supply will recover?
nectarine / 2591 posts
@Silva: Enjoy your party! H loves climbing the stairs and figured it out first go too.
@Adira: Maybe it's the ? A year is a damn good effort! She's not officially a toddler for another 9.5 hours!
@Smurfette: And delicious too! Too much cake for me in the last 3 days.... feeling caked out.
@Pumuckl:

@Adira: Well you made it 13 months so that it great!! And just think in 9 months you get to do it all over again!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Pumuckl: @AprilFool: I was actually wondering if that might be the case! I'm going to keep on trying and we'll see if it recovers or if we need to give it up.
@Smurfette: OMG, shut your mouth. I JUST got all this free-time back because I'm not pumping anymore! Gahhh!!! What did I do???

Guys I'm so sorry in advance for complaining but I do not know how I'm going to get through this day!
She was up at midnight and 3 and then woke up for the day at 5. I'm trying to nap train her (again). She was falling asleep at 7:30 so I put her down, and tried to take a nap myself. She woke up at 8:15, right as I was drifting off. So I am leaving her in there until 9. She's just chatting away.
It is 8:40 and we are already done with nap 1. There aren't any story time/ play groups today. It's raining. I am going to have a meltdown ahhhhhh.
Do any of you have bad sleepers still? I can't believe she is 1 in 2 weeks and I'm still dealing with this shit. We have tried everything short of long periods of CIO, which I guess is where we are headed. I have headaches constantly, I almost passed out nursing her the other night, I feel like things are falling apart.
pomegranate / 3601 posts
@Silva: Oh no!!! That sounds awfull! No advice just thinking of you and hoping for things to get better soon! (only this: if B just totally doesn't want to nap our best bet to get him to nap is to try after lunch and then only have 1 nap and a reasonable early bedtime around 6:30-7pm).
cantaloupe / 6017 posts
@Pumuckl: she fell back asleep, thank god. A big part of our problem is she is a terrible sleeper, but needs a ton of sleep. If she gets 3 hours of daytime sleep, it usually results in better nighttime sleep...but it's so hard to get her there. We get in this viscous cycle of sleep deprivation. Thanks for the wishes, we will survive.
Sorry for complaining!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Silva: Hugs!!!! Glad that she fell back asleep. It is so hard when you know they are tired but won't sleep. R wakes up fussy in MOTN due to teething but otherwise sleeps good. But it waking up at 515-545 every morning. It sucks. The horrible naps at day care are making her night sleep short. She napped 40 mins total the last two days.
Could you go to the library? Walk around the mall? Just to get out of the house?
cantaloupe / 6017 posts
@Smurfette: thanks! We are going to lunch with a friend, so that will help break up the day. Early wake ups are so tough!
pomegranate / 3601 posts
@Silva: Don't be sorry for complaining! That's what we're here for! So glad she fell back asleep though! @Smurfette's tips for getting out of the house sound good! Maybe she'll take a stroller nap if she doesn't nap in her crib?
ETA: Lunch with a friend sounds great!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Silva: Awww, I'm sorry you're dealing with that!!! Xander's often a bad napper at daycare, but he's usually decent at home, so I don't have to deal with it when he won't nap! I'm sorry!!! Hope you get some sleep soon!
Oh my gosh girls, I had the weirdest dream that I got up in the middle of the night and Xander was downstairs! Apparently he had climbed out of his crib, left his room (I don't know why the door to his room wasn't closed in my dream), and went down the stairs without falling (what???) and he was just hanging out in the living room playing with his toys! And when I brought him back upstairs to put back to bed, he had somehow gathered all the toys in his room and put them in his crib!

@Smurfette: that's adorable!
@AprilFool: ahh the cake smash pics turned out wonderfully - she's such a cutie!
@Adira: i'm down to one morning nursing session now and am sad it's coming to an end too. soon you'll have another to nurse!
@Silva: oh i'm sorry you're still struggling with sleep! i have no good advice, but just want to give you a big big virtual hug! don't apologize for complaining, this is what we're here for - vent away, friend!

@Mrs. High Heels: Yay! I get to... start all over... from the beginning.... ugh... although newborn to snuggle!!! YAY!
@cheert16: Thanks!
nectarine / 2591 posts
@Silva: *hugs* I hope T takes a nice long nap for you this afternoon. Hopefully lunch wears her out. Bad sleep days are the worst!
@Smurfette: Are her naps getting any better at DC?
@Adira: The sooner you start over the quicker you can get through the MOTN wake ups!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@AprilFool: True! We always said we just wanted to do a long drawn out baby-phase to get through all that tough stuff in one go!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@AprilFool: Nope. There is always someone waking her up. The teacher said she goes right to sleep. She is going to talk to the office again today. So I will be interested to see what they say. If I don't like it, I am calling. It isn't fair that one or two parents doesn't want to put their child on the class schedule and everyone else suffers.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Yeah, I would definitely complain to your director if the teacher doesn't make any progress! I mean, I guess that these parents are paying too and they shouldn't have to drop their kids off earlier, but it seems like maybe they should say "You can't drop your kids off during naptime" or something!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Yeah but what if they drop them off at 11. They eat lunch and then don't want to go down for a nap? They need to get their kid on the class schedule. It isn't the infant room where they make their own schedule.
It isn't fair that my child, and others, health are suffering cause they don't want to make changes to their schedule.
I get sometimes you have doctor's appointments and what not. But everyday has to stop. R is SO overtired. All the other kids in the class have adjusted, except 2 kids. Been a month now in the toddler room. More then enough time.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Yeah, I don't really know what's best. I'm curious how our toddler room is. It's easy in the infant room because the cribs are separate rooms, so if people are coming and going, it's not disruptive to the babies sleeping. But in the toddler room they have mats on the main floor, so I can only imagine how rough that would be to have people arriving at random times.
Those parents should just drop their kids off AFTER nap time or have their kids get up earlier so that they'll be able to nap when everyone else does. It's definitely not cool they're disrupting all the other toddlers' nap times!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: I thought at this point maybe they don't know that there is one nap time. But then I know we got a schedule when they were transitioning. Plus I know the teacher has talked to them about it. Maybe they don't realize how much their kid is waking up the other kids.
The teacher has tried moving the kids in separate ares of the room, but nothing matters. They all wake up.
Yesterday, they were all up within 40 mins and it was raining, all day, so they couldn't go outside. So they were all cranky and over tired yesterday. I felt bad for the teachers!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Ugh, that's rough (and I totally know too because that's exactly what Xander napped yesterday too)! Do you know any of the parents? You probably don't see them ever because of their random drop off time though. I would definitely bring it up to the director if it continues because sleep is soooooo important to children this age!!!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Never seen them. I see the other's parents occasionally, if they are early. But R is the first dropped off and first picked up.
nectarine / 2591 posts
@Adira: It's why we moved our timeline up. We went from wanting 4 years between to ttc in nov. Don't want to be starting from scratch.
@Smurfette: If the rule is everyone has to nap then that is what should happen, whether they are tired or not. Quiet time if they don't want to sleep. We all know how important sleep is and those parents are being selfish.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Yeah, that's what I figured! Poor R and all those other babies!

@Adira: May I join in? I had accidentally blocked due date twin boards from my front page and have missed out on this awesome thread!
LO's name: Cole Alexander
Age: 50 weeks and a few days Bday in 10 days!!
Weight: Chunky monkey - nearing 25 lbs
Length: I forget! He's a big boy though, always in the higher percentiles.
Number of Teeth: 2 front teeth on the bottom, and working on the 2 front teeth on the top!
Clothing Size: in between 12-18 months. His belly is definitely 18 months.
Cruising, Crawling, or Walking: Walking as of about 6 days ago!!!
How many ounces of formula/BM/milk per day: No idea! We are almost to 1 year of BF'ing though! Whoo hoo!
How many solid meals a day (and how much): He eats 2-4 times a day (we did BLW). Amount varies day to day! He loooooves food though!
Any Words: I have heard him say at one time or another "kitty, mama, eye, eat, yum, and up" Usually a one time thing though so I'm not counting them yet!
Milestone you're most looking forward to: Talking!
How's sleep going: Sleep has been rough for us, but it's not too bad at almost 1 year. I definitely suffer the affects of sleep deprivation though.
Any plans for TTC: Yes, really want to try ASAP! We would have started sooner, but I have a busted vag (long story, lol).
nectarine / 2631 posts
@Smurfette: Poor R!!! I would be so upset with those parents. I know lil B couldn't handle a 40 minute nap for the day.... he would be a cranky mess. Are you opposed to talking to the director? Maybe see if there is another option for if those kids come in late (its everyday?)
blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts
@Smurfette: That sucks that the other parents are being so disruptive and inconsiderate of other kids' sleep needs. I hope they resolve this issue and puts some boundaries in place. They really should have a rule, like no drop-offs after 10 am or something.
@cmomma17: Welcome!! Glad you can join us!

@Adira: i keep coming across things that remind me of you! bored at work and browsing the land of nod website for toddler room inspiration, and came across this bedding set! http://www.landofnod.com/robo-bedding-duvet-cover/f9980
possibility for xander when you move him into a big boy room?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@cmomma17: Yay!!! I'm glad you're finally joining us!!! Also, sorry to hear about your busted vag, haha, but I hope you get to start TTC and join me and @tororojo in prego-land!
@Mrs. High Heels: OMG, that bedding is awesome!!! I MIGHT have to buy it, haha! Although I don't know. I haven't even gotten to use Xander's elephant quit yet, so I'm not sure I'm ready to give up on my elephant theme! Though when he moves to a twin/full bed, he'll need something new, so maybe I should get this!

@cmomma17: so glad you joined us!
@cheert16: I am going to talk to the director if I don't like what the teacher says in the morning after her talk with them.

This morning when I dropped Isaac off at daycare the one teacher was telling me how happy and smilely Isaac has been the last few days. He's also stopped crying at drop off and pick up. This makes my days so much easier.
Smurfette: R is so smart! I hope that those other parents do something to get their babies on the same schedule as daycare. That is just so unfair. I really hope that the teacher is able to resolve it.
@silver1: I hope you get your charger soon, such a pain to not have.
@AprilFool: She is adorable. I love that cake!
@Adira: 13 months is awesome! Hopefully you'll be able to go that long for the next one. I don't think weaning is anywhere in sight for Isaac. He does fine during the day while I work, but still wants to nurse a few times from when we get home until we leave in the morning and then weekends he nurses all day. He even signs milk for it now, which is so cute.
@Silva: Sorry you had such a rough night last night, I hope tonight goes better. Isaac is still a terrible sleeper, we are now back to 2-3 night wakings, which is rough with being back at work. But at the start of daycare it was back to every 2 hours or more. His naps have gotten better because of daycare, thank goodness.
@Adira: Newborn snuggles will be great!
@cmomma17: Glad you are joining in!
@Silva: Since I've gone back to work I am constantly falling asleep nursing in the night. There have even been a couple times I've woken up, Isaac is nursing and I don't even really remember getting him!! Ooops!
