@cheert16: Molars were a whole different ball game for us. Sadie had 8 teeth already when she started cutting her molars, and had basically no symptoms with those other than a few random nighttime crying wake ups. Molars were the worst though! I'm so glad that's over. They're harder to get in and take a little longer, so I would expect to see some different side effects.

As far as WCM goes, we usually use regular sippies for milk & straw cups for juice/water. Sometimes I do use a straw cup for milk, but the sippies are easier to get the dried milk out of. Does your LO eat the veggie + fruit pouches? Slurping those up helped Sadie to get the hang of sucking on a straw.

@photojane: The molars are way worse. Lil b had 8 teeth too and we only ever knew he was teething because he wouldn't be a drool monster- but never cried or woke up in the middle of the night or anything. So this is a different experience....
Yeah- he eats the fruit and veggie s ones and yogurt pouches- but he does sometimes tilt them up ( like he would a sippy cup) This morning he took one sip from his straw cup (like up the straw) and then couldn't/ wouldn't do it again- even though I know he was thirsty.

@cheert16: Yes, my LO always gets loose stool from teething. My dentist FIL says that yes, it can cause that. Probably from all the drool. But doctors are reticent to tell you that because if your kid had diarrhea and you thought, oh it is just teething, you might not bring your kid in when it was something more serious. Dehydration is no joke with babies.

Ladies, L now says "uff uff uff" when you ask him what a doggy says. Does that count as a word?!

    @travellingbee: totally a word!

@cheert16: molars suck, so glad we're done with them for now.

My DH came home tonight and I wanted to keep B up a little longer so he could see daddy but he fell asleep on me while we were playing in the living room. All snuggled up to me. DH took him straight to his crib and he didn't even stir. He must have been sooooo tired, he even skipped his nursing session. Other than that we were baking muffins for his bday party at daycare tomorrow.

@travellingbee: I can see the logic behind that! I wonder if I should call the Doctor anyways....hmmm. Ill see how he was at daycare today!
    That is totally a word!!

@travellingbee: Definitely counts! I totally count Sadie's animal noises as words. Sadie's first animal sound was "ruff, ruff, ruff" too, and then the others happened super quickly. It's amazing how quick they can pick up on stuff.

@cheert16: We did lots and lots of Tylenol with the molars! The doc said that Motrin actually helps more with swelling, so we did a little Motrin too. I'd keep offering the straw cup. It will suddenly click for him, and it will be like he was always doing it!

This morning went much better, nursing-wise! But I think that's because Xander woke up on his own. He started whimpering at 5:30 and crying shortly after, so I just nursed him. But he still sounded awake when I left at 6:30, so I don't think he fell back to sleep.

So Xander was trying to say "block" again last night! It was so cute! It kind of sounded like "lock" or "dlock", but he was definitely trying! And every time he came close, we would cheer and he would just get this big smile on his face.

@Adira: Glad that nursing went better! Maybe he just doesn't need to sleep as late anymore?
    So cute about block!

So R's teacher said she said Thank You yesterday. Seriously, why doesn't she do this for us?!?!

I am annoyed this morning. I asked if something was going on cause she only had an hour nap yesterday. The teacher usually can pat R's back and she goes back to sleep. Well yesterday, two parents dropped their kids off at 11 and 1140. They know 1130 is nap time. The parents said they had only been up for an hour so their kids weren't ready for a nap and just played. The teacher said something to make them realize that the other kids all get there early and need to nap. And they were like oh well, sorry. What?!? The one parent came in with her sister and were talking and carrying on, meanwhile could see that the kids were all laying down on their cots already. The teacher said that she asked the office what they can do but they said that there isn't anything. They can't tell the parents to come earlier nor there isn't anywhere else to send the kids. So all the kids were super cranky all afternoon cause no one got a good nap and were up all afternoon.

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: WOW! That really sucks about those other parents who dropped their kids off right around nap time!!! Was it just a one-time occurrence or is this something that happens all the time?? I mean, I understand if that's just what time they have to drop off their kids, but they should at least try to be quiet and maybe try to get their kid to be quiet. UGH! Whenever I pick up Xander, there's often a baby napping (they have a little 4 month old in that room - soooooo cute), so I try to be quiet so as not to wake her! Why can't other parents be considerate?? Don't they KNOW how children are when they miss naps or don't get enough sleep??? Poor R and those other kids.

  12. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: Yesterday was later then normal but they still always drop off late. I guess the one kid sleeps ill 9 or 930, so usually doesn't get there till 10. No wonder he doesn't want to nap at 1130. I guess they don't care if they pass out on the way home cause they don't care if they stay up later. But for the majority of the kids, it isn't fair. Most are there by 8 and need to nap.
The fact that the Mom was being loud and showing her sister the classroom, seeing kids were laid down, really pisses me off.
I feel bad too for the teacher. That is when she does lesson plans, but she can't cause she is trying to keep the kids up and playing quiet so everyone else naps.
They all were cranky yesterday when I picked up R.

  13. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: Ugh, that really sucks. It's too bad there isn't somewhere else contain those kids while the other kids are napping! And don't those kids get cranky in the afternoon since they essentially miss nap time??

  14. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: When I pick up R, the two boys are always there and they are usually always crying or whining, so I know they are tired. I guess their parents are trying to change their schedule so it works with day care. I guess they care more about sleeping in.

  15. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: Ugh - I love to sleep in as much as the next person, but you've gotta do what's best for your child and if that means waking up early so they can get a good nap in, then that's what you should do!

@Adira: DH and I love going out to lunch on the weekends. We go to lunch and run a couple errands, make sure we were home for her afternoon nap. Then would go back out if we needed too. Now we want to keep her on the same schedule as day care, so that means no more lunches out. But it is more important that we keep her on a schedule then for us to eat lunch out.

@Smurfette: Yep, I agree! But I guess some people are more considerate of that kind of stuff than others...

Oh, so I forgot to mention! Xander has totally started taking notice of his belly! When I get him out of his clothes to change him into his pjs at night, he just looks down at his belly and pats it, haha! It's so cute!

@Smurfette: wow that's soooo annoying! That makes me really appreciate that at our daycare you have to be there by 9am (except when there are circumstances like a dr. appointment).

@Smurfette @Adira: I don't understand people sometimes. The world would be a better place if people wouldn't only care about themselves...

@Adira: yay for talking. Go Xander!

We had a great day today celebrating our little birthday boy! Guys I now have a toddler, I cannot believe it. Where did that year go?

And as a side note he is working on his second canine; it's about to come in. I didn't even notice the first. I had just wondered why my nipple was still irritated. Usually that passes after two or three days and I was thinking the molar was still causing it cause - I don't know - it is bigger...

    @Pumuckl: Happy Birthday!!

@Adira: That is so cute that he found his belly!

@Smurfette: I can't believe they make such a disturbance when they bring there kids that late. They should know it is nap time and respect that.

@travellingbee: That is totally a word! That must just be so cute to hear.

Tooth number 8 is almost in. And today was the first morning I dropped Isaac off at daycare and he didn't cry! It only took three weeks.

I'm going to be interested to see how napping goes this weekend. Every day this week he only had one nap. I'm hoping he will stick to this. They have been anywhere from 1.75 hours to 2.5 hours long.

I get to enjoy a 3 day weekend. Which I totally need to get some cleaning done around here. I'm going to take Isaac to daycare for a part day Monday so I can get some things done and relax. I haven't had that in a long time. Tomorrow will be mommy and son time as DH will be out for the day. I'm really looking forward to playing all day and hopefully it won't be cold so we can go for a walk.

And I asked his teacher how much milk he is drinking throughout the day. They don't actually measure, but she said about half a cup three times. I'm guessing roughly 9oz. Which is awesome since at first it was just sips here and there. Plus he is still nursing, so I'm sure he gets at least that much again in BM.

@Pumuckl: Happy Birthday! Hip hip hooray!

Guys... I think we are officially done breast feeding. Yesterday she fed off one side super quick and today I offered when we got up and she wasn't in to it and then I offered again after our walk and nope. It's a little bittersweet but I am happy it was her choice and we made it a year.

    Party day tomorrow!!

@ALV91711: Yay for no crying!! Enjoy the long weekend!! Just know that he might not be able to stay up at home like he does at day care.
@AprilFool: That is awesome!! Glad that you made it to a year. Have fun at the party!! Post pictures!

R woke up at 515 she was down at 830 for a nap. I am still having bathroom issues, never ending stomach bug. We are still taking her to my parents and having a date night! I just hope I feel better so I can enjoy it, I want some cocktails!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!!

@Smurfette: That was our day yesterday. Early starts really make the day hard. Hope R napped well because H didn't. How is your stomach? That bug is hanging around! Enjoy date night. Mama deserves a cocktail.

Yep, deff done breastfeeding. H woke at 11 last night, sobbing and I sat with her for half hour to calm her. Offered the boob and nope. I hope she is well rested for today!

@ALV91711: That's one of the best things about daycare - being able to send your little one in when you have the day off and actually relax or get things done! And that's awesome that he's been drinking milk well! Yay!

@AprilFool: Oh wow - it's over just like that?? But congratulations on making it to a year!!! And I hope the party goes well tomorrow!!

@Smurfette: Yuck! I hope you're feeling better! Stomach bugs are no joke!

@Smurfette: @Adira: Hey, one more and I'm done. We've been talking about it since R was born, when I decided to get an IUD instead of something more permanent for one of us? One more and our family is complete. We wanted to look at it again when P was 3 and R was 2 so we've got all the rest of this year. Then we've discussed having the IUD removed Sometime December - February for a (hopefully) fall baby. That means R will be 2 and P will be 3 by the time the next baby comes, nearly 3 and 4!

I'm both excited and very scared. I forgot how nerve-wracking the first trimester can be, especially in the very beginning when so many things can go wrong! Fingers crossed everything works out!

@AprilFool: Congrats on making it to a year. I can't believe that she just stopped so easily. It is nice that you didn't have to fight it, but at the same time it seems kind of sudden and that would be hard.

@Smurfette: I hope you were feeling better by your date and had a good night out.

He ended up with just one nap, 1.5 hours. He was starting to get tired at a weird time, so then we did lunch a smidge early and he had a nap. He could of used a bit more as he was a bit cranky this afternoon.

@NaturallyCathy: 3 babies, that is crazy!! But you do make cute babies!! That will be a nice age gap for the next one.

@Adira: I hope you have a smooth, uneventful first trimester.

Today was so fun, Isaac was playing pretend and cracking up. He was pretending to pick up and eat things off the stairs and at first I thought he was actually doing it and tried to stop him, he thought it was sooo funny! So then he kept it up and we were both just laughing so hard.

@AprilFool: Oh wow! Congrats making it so far!

@NaturallyCathy: Nice you guys have a plan set in place!

@ALV91711: That is so funny! Clever boy!

Kaitlyn took 3 teeny tiny steps towards me yesterday!!! I spent all evening trying to recreate it, but she is very insistent on wanting my fingers to hold while walking. She did take about 6 steps today just holding 1 finger. But now the problem is that she's always holding my finger(s), so how can I video it? lol!
