Oh wow, I missed so much too!!

@Adira: Hope Xander is feeling much much better today! Sorry you had to deal with so much sickness recently.

@ALV91711: Aww sorry to hear that Isaac is still feeling under the weather. Poor lil fella. I would wait and see how he's doing tomorrow, and if he still doesn't seem to be doing better I'd go in. Keep us posted, hope he gets better soon!

@QueensBee: That's great he did so well for his first cut - sounds similar to the experience we had! I also walked away with a lock of J's hair and a certificate. It's now stored away in his memory trunk.

@Pumuckl: Glad you had a good weekend at the concert, and that he did so well with the grandparents!

J is sick too with a fever and runny nose. What's with all the sick babies - it's spring! We also transitioned our kids into a shared room today. So far so good!

@Silva: That sounds amazing!!! I am glad you enjoyed your day and it wasn't too hard being away from T.

@QueensBee: It's her first real word, aside from mama, dad and ta. I really want to get H a kitchen but am waiting till we move to see how much space we have.

@silver1: It was less than two weeks for us from steps to no more crawling.

@ALV91711: I would call them, explain and see if they want you to come in.

@Mrs. High Heels: I will be keeping an eye on how your shared room is going as that's our plan! Has J been in your room until now?

@Mrs. High Heels: @ALV91711: Hope Isaac and Jaren are feeling better soon. B also has a nasty cold (AGAIN!). We had to give him LOTS of nasal decongestant yesterday before the flight but he luckily didn't seem to have any issues.

@Mrs. High Heels: How did the first night of shared rooms go?

  4. Smurfette

    @Adira: How is Xander?
@Silva: That sounds like a wonderful day!! How did last night go?
@silver1: Yay for walking!! R still will crawl sometimes and has been walking for 3 months. She will crawl and then just get up and run, toddlers are weird.
@ALV91711: Poor guy!! I would probably take him. I am sure it is a virus but been a couple days now.
@Pumuckl: Glad that you got away for the concert and had fun!
@Mrs. High Heels: Another sickie, boo! Glad that the transition is going good!!

I hate that everyone's LO are sick! Hopefully everyone starts feeling better soon. I know I am over R's runny nose.

@Smurfette: she did really well- slept from 6:45p to 6:20a with one wake up at 4:30. Unfortunately I had terrible insomnia and was wide awake from 11p to 3a! Guess I can't handle day drinking like I used to.....oy.

  6. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Silva: I have insomnia every night lately. I haven't slept more then 2-3 hour stretches in like a month. It sucks. I feel like I got maybe 5 hours total last night and I went to bed at 930.

@Smurfette: it is such a frustrating feeling!

@Mrs. high heels, how far apart are your kids? Dh and I were toying with the idea of shared bedrooms for E and #2, with a play room....instead of two separate bedrooms, each with their own toys, etc.

  9. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@ALV91711: Can you just call the doctor and tell them what's going on and see what they suggest? That's what I usually do when I'm not sure what to do!

@ALV91711: @Smurfette: Xander seems to be doing better! He seemed mostly himself yesterday (besides being STARVING all day). And I called and double-checked and he was allowed back to daycare! They just have to give him his inhaler while he's there, but the other meds we can do at home. And he was able to sleep through the night with no coughing episodes, so yay!

  10. Mrs. High Heels

    blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts

@Pumuckl: The first night went really well... they both slept through the night until 7 am when we went to go wake them! I guess the true test is going to be how consistent this ends up being. Crossing my fingers for continued success...

@AprilFool: No, J and N were originally in their own rooms. My SIL is moving in sometime in July... so in order to accommodate her, we are having them share a room (even if she wasn't moving in though, we always wanted our kids to share a room!).

@Silva: @Smurfette: Add me to the list of insomniacs! I just can't seem to get in a deep sleep, maybe because it's been so hot at night here...

@blackbird: My kids are 26 months apart. Right now J is 14.5 months and N is 3 years 4 months. So before we found out my SIL was moving in, my line of thinking was exactly like yours - I wanted the kids to share a room, and make the extra bedroom a playroom. Yesterday, we moved J's crib into N's room... and put all of their toys into J's old room to act as a playroom in the interim (SIL isn't moving in until July). It was so nice, and the kids loved it. Ideally, how far apart would your kids be?

@Adira: Glad he is doing better, and slept through the night! What a trooper! Hope you got some good sleep in too.

@Mrs. High Heels: Glad to hear your first night with the kids together went well!!! And thank you! I actually did get a decent amount of sleep finally!

I'm not sure if I mentioned this before or not, but Xander's been trying to jump! It's so cute! He sort of bounces up and down and gets up on his tippy-toes! No actual leaving the ground yet, but it's adorable watching him try!

@mrs. high heels, I think we're going to be about the same difference at a minimum (if we don't have any issues this time!). We're going to start trying in August

@blackbird: you know that is like 3 months from now..........I keep putting it off in my head.

OMG I haven't been on in ages and I am so far behind. I will have to read a bunch to catch up.
L is doing well. He is starting to talk-- Says tickle, Tititat (Kitty cat), Dada, Papa, Ruff ruff, and makes elephant noises and bowbowbow noises because of a book we have. All of a sudden he is really starting to copy us. Last night we are pretty sure he repeated baby when we told him that a video was of a baby. He is runny all over and kicks a soccer ball very well. Also loves climbing up his slide. Well, really he loves climbing everything. He has been happy and healthy and sleeping well! Hooray!
@blackbird: We are going to start trying in July/August too. I'd love them about 26 months apart.
@Adira: So cute about the jumping! I love it. L bounces when he dances and I think it is so adorable. How are you feeling these days?
@Mrs. High Heels: fingers crossed for you!

@smurfette, I know! I ordered my last pack of bc pills and was like, "OH SHIT". I need to start taking prenatals, too. It's hard to think about it since it's at the END of summer and summer hasn't even started yet!

  16. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@blackbird: I consider Sept summer still. Too hot here still, plus we aren't going to the beach till since we couldn't use points till then.
I keep wanting to put it off cause I am not I can't handle two, I keep forgetting about the 9 month baking session first. Not to mention I am sure it will take us at least 3 months with DH's travel.
@travellingbee: Wow! He is really talking! Impressive.

  17. Pumuckl

    pomegranate / 3601 posts

@Adira: Glad to hear Xander is able to go to daycare and that he was such a trooper and even slept through the night. And yay for jumping. B always bounces around if he hears music and sometimes tries to sing to it. Kills me every time. This is totally off topic here but did your OB give you that dating ultrasound you so desperately wanted?

@Mrs. High Heels: Sounds like they really like each other's company. Sure hope they keep up sleeping so well.

@travellingbee: So glad L is finally happy and healthy!

B has been having such a bad cough this night. He's been coughing on and off for over 2h now and that's after we used the nebulizer before bed poor baby
On the topic of #2 we've stopped preventing (but are not full on TTC yet either), so we'll see how long it takes. We'd like them to be about 2yrs apart. Kind of scary but so exciting...

  18. travellingbee

    hostess / papaya / 10219 posts

@QueensBee: Congrats on your hubbys promotion. That is exciting!
@Adira: I just went back and read and wow! I am so sorry that Xander has been so sick! How hard for you and him both!
@Pumuckl: That is very exciting. Is that what you did for your first? (NTNP) How long did it take? I think I am too much of a control freak. I over-plan everything LOL.

  19. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@travellingbee: Yes! Xander originally just bounced when he "danced" but then we were cheering him on about something and he seemed like he was trying to jump!! And that talking L is doing is so impressive! Xander still really just says Mama, Dada, Uh-oh, and now starting to try to say Car!

And I'm feeling pretty good, though smells have really started to bother me!!! I never noticed smells being an issue last time around!

@Pumuckl: No, they didn't. I called and asked for one and the secretary said no. I haven't even been in yet to see the OB, but my first appointment is on Friday, so I'm going to try again then! And that's exciting that you're NTNP!!!

  20. Pumuckl

    pomegranate / 3601 posts

@travellingbee: Well I guess you could classify it as doing that (NTNP). Since I have pretty normal length cycles we just upped the BD around the middle of the cycle 2yr ago. It took us 2m last time so we were really lucky.

  21. Mrs. High Heels

    blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts

@blackbird: @Smurfette: @Pumuckl: @travellingbee: Wouldn't that be awesome if you all had baby #2 around the same time? Then you guys could be on the same due date twin thread AGAIN! Fingers crossed for all of you come August/September!!

@Pumuckl: Poor baby, I hope his cough goes away soon!

@travellingbee: I can't believe he is talking so well already! J babbles a lot, but doesn't have many distinguishable words - I've counted only 5 and he only really says 3 words consistently!

@Adira: AWw I love it when they bounce their booty up and down. J is always booty shaking, it's so cute!

  22. travellingbee

    hostess / papaya / 10219 posts

@Mrs. High Heels: @Smurfette: really he just starting saying anything this week. And most people wouldn't understand what he says. I just recognize that he is repeating us and starting to make the same noises every time he sees a cat etc. Tickle is the most clear, actually lol. His favorite book right now is Tickle Time.

I asked for advice then disappeared. This morning he seamed fine so off we went for the day. At 3:45 daycare called to say he three up twice in half an hour. So off I went to get him. We got home and in 20 min he threw up twice more. He nursed a bit and off we headed to the ER. They have given him some Zofran and here we are at 9:45 waiting for them to come back and hopefully let us go. The doc said it is a bug that is going around. Luckily Isaac is sleeping on me, should be interesting getting him home to bed.

  24. ALV91711

    pomelo / 5621 posts

Finally we are home! We got freed at almost 11pm. The doctor had another check on him while he was sleeping and was happy that he hadn't thrown up again. He was contemplating a chest xray as Isaac has had this cough so long, but after a second listen was happy that everything is clear.

He said usually that this bug clears up in 48 hours but can be up to a week. I have things to watch for and when I have to take him back. Which will hopefully not happen. Tomorrow I'm going to stay home with him in hopes of getting lots of fluids in him.

    I'm so sick of sickness!!

  25. Pumuckl

    pomegranate / 3601 posts

@ALV91711: Oh no that sounds so stressful! Glad Isaac is doing better though.

What's up with all that spring babies going to the ER this week. Get healthy LOs!!!

When I went to bed around midnight B was still coughing a lot so I went in rubbed his chested with a essential oils ointment that is approved for babies. It seemed to help some but it was still pretty bad. Hope he does better today.

@Mrs. High Heels: Yay for J also booty shaking - it is just too cute when they do that. How did night #2 go? And you're right maybe we'll all be ending up in the same due date threads again

  26. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@ALV91711: Gahhh!!!! What is with these sick babies???? I'm sorry you had to bring Isaac to the ER! That's always scary! And then they keep you there FOREVER!!! How was getting him home and back to bed? When we were at the ER Friday night, Xander was so mad to be woken up only to be taken home! It sucked! I hope today goes better for you and he starts feeling better!

  27. Mrs. High Heels

    blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts

@ALV91711: I'm sorry he had to go to the ER, but glad to hear that his chest sounded clear and it isn't anything worse! Yea, the ER takes foreeeeever!! One time, I took N for an allergic reaction to a peanut allergy.... and it took nearly 2 hours before they even saw us. I was going nuts thinking my daughter could die while we sat there waiting. I hope Isaac improves today and that this bug disappears soon!

@Pumuckl: Hope B feels better today too!! I've never tried essential oils - where do you get them?

  28. Mrs. High Heels

    blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts

@Pumuckl: Night #2 went as well as the first! What we do is put J to sleep first... then once he's completely asleep, we sneak in and put N down. I just tell her that we have to be very quiet and use our whisper voices because J is sleeping, and she understands that.

  29. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@ALV91711: Poor guy!! ER trips can't be fun. I hope he gets over this bug soon!
@Pumuckl: I hope he feels better soon!
@Mrs. High Heels: Glad that night #2 went well!!

  30. blackbird

    wonderful grape / 20453 posts

@smurfette, yeah, it'll still be awhile before it actually happens! It would be neat to have due date buddies again, though

@alv, ugh the stomach bug! We had that two months ago and it was so bizarre. Throwing up, then okay for a couple weeks, then massive diarrhea, which the ped said was "the bug" that was going around. YUCK

  31. Pumuckl

    pomegranate / 3601 posts

@Mrs. High Heels: So glad night #2 went so well too. N is such a good big sister! You should totally do a post for the blog on it (if you feel like it ). The ointment we use we just get in the pharmacy. It is a mix of lavender, star-anise and thyme. We rub it on his chest and upper back.

Daycare called earlier to tell me he was coughing so baldly he wasn't able to fall asleep. Luckily they found that when they turned him on his side that he was able to sleep better. So I didn't have to go pick him up early. But since we would go to get vaccines tomorrow anyway I'll let it get checked out tomorrow. Just hope tonight is better than yesterday

  32. blackbird

    wonderful grape / 20453 posts

This talk of coughing makes me wonder.....does anybody else's LO have allergies? E coughed so hard last week, she threw up. And she had clear runny snot but never any sickness symptoms, so I figured it was allergies (and our daycare lady said that was probably it, too). I picked up some Zarbee's cough syrup but it's gone away since. Thoughts? I have really bad allergies, but i'm taking medication

  33. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@blackbird: I think R does. She has has a clear runny nose for a month now. Coughing at night only, and worse when outside a ton. The pollen is going away and the cough is gone and the nose is getting better.

@ALV91711: Oh my gosh, I just read through all your updates. I'm so sorry you had to go to the ER but so happy you're home and Isaac is feeling better! Enjoy your day spoiling the little man with snuggles and fluids.

@Mrs. High Heels: So impressed you have two sleeping in the same room! If we have another son, we hope to have them share a room. I hope Pete will be as quiet going to asleep as N!

@blackbird: Pete has not shown signs of allergies yet. My DH was an allergy baby, so I'm really hoping Pete doesn't inherit that from him!

@Pumuckl: Oh no! At least he was able to fall asleep and get some rest. Hope the pediatrician visit goes well.

Pete's been sleeping 12 hours straight each night for 4 nights now! It feels so surprising to wake up to my alarm clock and not a screaming baby. I hope it lasts....

  35. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Mrs. High Heels: OMG, are you serious about the response time at your ER???? That's crazy!!! When we brought Xander in for his allergic reaction, they brought him back immediately!! Though maybe it wasn't super busy - I don't actually know, haha. I wasn't paying attention. But I can't imagine having to wait while that was happening!

@blackbird: Xander has that right now. I assume he has a cold or something, but he has a clear runny nose and he coughed so hard he threw up! But it wasn't due to allergies. He has pneumonia and broncholitis.

@Mrs. High Heels: I'm glad your kiddos are taking to sharing a room at night well. I hope that it will continue. I can't believe you had to wait so long for an allergic reaction! I would be freaking out over that.

@Adira: He didn't have the greatest sleep last night. Woke up when I put him in the car, woke up taking him in the house. Nursed him and put him to bed. He did a lot of sleeping today but by dinner he was acting more himself.

    @Adira: How is Xander doing?

@Smurfette: We are going to try going to daycare and work tomorrow. I don't think I've worked a full week since I've been back to work between sickness and long weekends.

@Pumuckl: Hopefully he is ok and the cough goes away.

@QueensBee: So jealous of your sleep. Today was lots of napping and lots of nursing. I don't think he's nursed like that since his newborn days.

  39. Adira

@QueensBee: @ALV91711: Xander seems to be doing better! He actually drank more milk yesterday and didn't act starved at dinner, which was an improvement, haha. But he wouldn't nurse this morning.

@ALV91711: Glad to hear that by dinner, he seemed to be feeling a bit better!!

Oh, I forgot to mention this other new thing Xander has been doing! When he eats something he really likes, he goes "nom nom nom" while he eats it!
