    Does everyone have plans for Mother's Day? The boys are taking me to the zoo, weather and health permitting. None of us have every been so we are pretty excited. I also told DH that I wanted flowers and I'm sure he'll cook me dinner.

    @Silva: No advice on the walking since we aren't there yet. Hopefully an earlier bedtime will help her out. I'm sure with time of walking she'll be more steady on her legs for the whole day.

    @Adira: That is great that you got some snuggles this morning.

    @Pumuckl: Glad to hear the cough is getting better. I hope you have a better sleep tonight.

    @Smurfette: Hope R is feeling better when she gets up in the morning.

    @QueensBee: Of course he doesn't sleep well when your on your own, isn't that the way. What teeth is he getting now?

    @Silva: Sounds to me like she is just tired. H looks like a little drunk sailor when she is tired.

    @Smurfette: Oh poor R. That sounds awful for you both.

    @ALV91711: We are going out for breakfast and then to the markets and then I will have some me time in the afternoon when DH goes to see his mother. I hope you get your flowers! I love getting them

    @ALV91711: We are going to my parents in the early afternoon and spending the day. That way I see my Mom, grandma, and Aunts. The men do all the cooking and planning. It is a blast!
    DH is cooking me dinner (crab legs) Sat night. Hopefully R will be feeling better cause we were going to go to a festival Sat afternoon.

    @ALV91711: A day at the zoo sounds fun!

    We don't have any real plans. Daycare is having a Mother's Day picnic today, so I'm going to go to that. Sunday, we might go out to lunch. And the I think my parents and brother are coming over on Monday night, so we'll kind of celebrate with my mom then.

    love hearing about mother's day plans. I was looking at photos from the day last year, and T is this teeny tiny bug! snuggled up on my chest (also, my boobs were HUGE).

    on sunday we are hosting brunch for both sets of grandparents and my brother/his girlfriend. everyone is bringing something, so we just have to clean, buy some fruit, and make some coffee. the weather looks nice so we can walk to the playground or something after eating.

    I think our little family will probably go out for breakfast either Saturday or Monday (my husband has all next week off, praise all that is holy). I expect a card, as thats what he usually does. I told him I just want to feel appreciated, and spend some family time. My real "gift" was going to the spa last weekend!

    @Smurfette: what kind of festival? I always write those things on my calendar (like we were going to go to May Day last weekend at the waldorf school), and then the weekend rolls around and I just feel too lazy.
    My husband and I never used to do that kind of thing because we hate crowds, but we really need to step up our game now so poor T can have some fun and see something new!

    @Silva: it is an Arts Festival. We went all the time (mostly to drink) before R. It isn't supposed to be super hot so I think we could go with R. And it is super close to our house.

    bummer a co worker just said it is 60% chance of rain tomorrow.

    @ALV91711: I think he is working on the bottom left molar. The bottom right one arrived about two weeks ago and now the left gum is looked swollen and ready to burst. I hope it happens soon!

    I also need to add Pete to list of sick Spring 2013 babies now. He has a super runny nose and I'm not sure if it's a cold or allergies, or if he is extra mucusy from teething. It's definitely not a terrible illness and he doesn't seem bothered by it, but his nose is like a runny faucet. At least the mucus is loose and coming out but boy, he is a gross mess!

    Everyone's MD plans sound so fun! DH is away on business until late Sunday night so I am spending the day with my parents. I will bring my mom breakfast on Sunday morning and if the weather cooperates, we'll probably go on a walk on the beach.

    @QueensBee: Sorry to hear you're on your own for Mother's Day and that Pete is now sick too. Hope he gets better soon!

    @Smurfette: How's R doing? Is she still as sick as yesterday? The arts festival sounds really fun - hope a.) R isn't sick anymore by then and b.) the weather stays nice.

    @ALV91711: A day at the zoo sounds amazing! We'll be having some friends over on Sunday that we otherwise don't get to see often. Other than that no plans. LO crafted in daycare though and we got to take the results home with us today. They stamped their hands and feet on canvas and wrapped it and attached a poem. Love it!

    B's cough prevented him from napping at daycare today again It has gotten a lot better though he was still a cranky mess this afternoon though. But as a positive went down without nursing before bed! I'm really excited about that.

    Annnndddd I had told you guys we decided to NTNP this month - I got a this morning. If all goes well B will be a big brother as of Jan 2015. I'm still in shock but so happy! They'll be 21.5/22m apart.

    @Pumuckl: She is feeling better. DH said that she is eating, drinking, and acting completely normal. No fever just tired still from having party at 830-1230 last night and then up at 430, 500, and 530. So it is a two nap day.

    CONGRATS!! So exciting. I can't believe so many are getting BFP already. Makes me want to keep my IUD in longer

    @Smurfette: hahaha. I'm genuinely happy for other people, but even thinking about another baby makes me feel physically ill.
    some days my husband and I daydream about T being an only child, and the three of us moving to Sweden and living a fabulous European lifestyle.

    @Silva: What is weird is that I thought that I would be totally jealous. We want another but I am so not ready yet. Mentally or financially. $3K a month in child care makes me want to throw up

    @pumuckl, that's crazy! Congrats!!!!

    I really wish I could just pop out a 6 month old. The 0-6 month phase just isn't for me. I feel bad for feeling that way (how un-motherly, LOL), but it is what it is. *shrug*

    @blackbird: oh no, not weird. I always say I'd get 2yr olds if I could. I just love when they're not that dependent on one anymore.

    @Smurfette: Glad R is doing better and DH is able to stay home with her. Luckily for us having two in daycare will only be for a max. of 9 months. The september of the year B turns 3yr. he will move to Kindergarten. Since we get 12m of parental leave here it should work out. And prices are nowhere as crazy as to what you're having to pay.

    @Silva: well we're not in Sweden but still in Europe

    @Pumuckl: ok! Here kindergarten is 5-6, first grade in elementary school. Preschool is 3, and prek at 4.

    @Pumuckl: Oh my, congratulations!!!! Such exciting news!
    Can you remind me where you live? I'm so envious of your one year maternity leave and then school starting at 3. It makes raising a family seem so much more manageable!

    The flurry of BFPs on this board is giving me more courage to consider NTNP soon. I'd have so many pregnancy buddies! Hmmm....

    @Pumuckl: I just spent forever googling how to get my husband a job...there is a recruiting company to get doctors to Scandinavian countries. He is unenthusiastic about my plans. Maybe retirement or a sabbatical was the best I could get

    Everyone's mother's day plans sound great. Being with family is what it is about. I got the most adorable card that Isaac made at daycare and a potted flower. I love it. This morning at daycare they had juice and goodies for the mom's and they were taking pictures of mom's with their kids.

    @Pumuckl: Congratulations!! How exciting.

    @QueensBee: I'm so not looking forward to molars! With my luck they will start when we go away next month.

    @blackbird: 0-6 months is exhausting, I don't blame you for wanting to skip it.

    Thank you all for your congrats.

    @QueensBee: we're in Germany. Mat-leave usually starts 6w before EDD and goes to 8w post-partum. That time 100% of your current income is covered (and for the 8w pp, employing a mum is even illegal (only exception is a stillbirth then its up to mum whether she wants to work earlier). The pp time is higher when it's a preemie or multiples. After that it is parental leave where 65% of your average income of the last 12m pre mat leave are covered. Pretty cool, I was one of the few mums that worked PT during the parental leave year. Oh and there is 2 additional months of parental leave available for the other parent (same conditions). Almost all dads at my company use those.

    @AprilFool: you should definitely have some and join us!

    @Smurfette: haha, so basically the other way around. This is why I'm always so confused when reading the blogs or threads where not the age but the school type is mentioned.

    @Pumuckl: Hahaha. No thanks I am taking H to disneyland in November and I want to be able to ride all the rides!!!

    I thought Aus mat leave was generous but Germany puts us to shame!

    Haha I'm glad others feel this way! I absolutely love having a one year old!

    So what's everyone's Mother's Day plans? I'm getting a massage today (unrelated, I have a groupon that will expire soon), and lunch at a winery tomorrow, then a BBQ at DH's uncle's house. I think I'm going to bring strawberry lemonade icebox pie

    We finally have a healthy boy and it is so nice. We can definitely tell he is feeling better as he has his appetite back x10. He ate so much yesterday and has been eating pretty much all morning.

    @Pumuckl: Congratulations!! If I could I would pop out a 9 month old thatz when J started consistently sttn
    @Corduroy: Yay awesome surprise!!
    J is walking more steps about length of room before he falls down. Also I think his bottom canines are coming in hopefully its not too painful.

    @blackbird: I'm with you on wanting to jump straight to popping out a 6 month old. In fact, I'd rather skip to popping out a one year old. I am completely okay bypassing the first year completely.

    @Pumuckl: Congratulations!! Wow, your mat leave policy sounds like a dream!

    Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!

    Happy Belated Mother's Day ladies!!!

    So I think Xander and I are done nursing! He nursed on Saturday but wasn't interested yesterday and this morning I decided to just go to work without even offering. It's over!

    And minor update: Xander's just about over his pneumonia - we're just finishing up his meds this week, but his follow-up on Friday went well and his lungs sounded good. Also, he's now 21 lbs 14 oz! He gained a whole pound in one week!! Though the prednisone made him super hungry, so he was eating non-stop, so that's probably why, haha.

    @Corduroy: that is great! I have really loved watching T learn how to walk. It's all she wants to do now!

    Has anyone had any luck getting their baby to sleep later in the morning? I know it's an issue a lot of people deal with. T is up between 5 and 5:30 every morning. That plus the continued 1x a night wake up and nursing is draining me. I feel like I could do one or the other, but both is getting tough.
    Thinking I might try sending my husband in for the MOTN wake up to see what happens. We had like 2 weeks of near ideal sleep awhile ago, and noticed that on the nights she slept through the night, she slept later in the morning, versus nights with MOTN wake up when she'd wake between 5 and 6.

    Oh, and I can feel a little bit of sharpness where that molar has been lurking, so it's appearance is imminent!

    @Adira: Yay for making it to nearly 14m nursing Xander though! B has also dropped his nursing session before bedtime. By Thursday he was still sitting in my lap throwing the pacifier out because he wanted to nurse and Friday the paci stayed firmly in place and the same thing continued all through the weekend. I didn't offer either though. So for 3 days now we are down to one nursing session. I'm quite happy we are because nurturing 3 seems intense especially since I lost so much weight BF anyway. Glad it happened on his terms though.

    @Corduroy: Yay!!
    @ALV91711: Opps! A friend said that she just did the same thing.
    @Adira: Glad that he is feeling better! Enjoy your nursing break.

    We had a good Mother's Day! R was in heaven playing with her cousins yesterday, inside and outside. We got home a little past her bedtime, so DH read to her and then rocked her and she didn't even move when he layed her in the crib. Girlfriend didn't move all night.
    She was looking around the house this morning, I think for DH. It was so nice having him home last week and now back to reality.

    Does anyone else's LO roll their eyes? R is really freaking me out how much she does it. Everyone thinks it is just her learning how to do it, and doing it more and more.
