@autumnlove: Oh no! That happened to E once. She had diarrhea crusted all over her forehead and hair. It was the most disgusting thing ever. 6am baths for all! I hope she's OK today!

@blackbird: hahaha, all the inappropriate things we say about our kids are totally what keep us sane!

@ALV91711: she cried for 10 mins and then took a 2hr nap yesterday!! Which she never does anymore. Then last night not a peep of crying just went to sleep within 10 mins. Then slept 11 hours!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Woohoo!!!! So glad to hear she's getting used to the Pack 'n Play and actually sleeping!!! Yay!!
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
@blackbird: So gross, right? She isn't better yet and had 3 projectile vomits (my dog lapped up one before I could clean it) last night. The nurse said I don't need to take her in and just keep her hydrated but LO doesn't want to eat or drink much right now!
@Smurfette: I'm glad sleep is getting better!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@autumnlove: Booo!!! Sorry to hear that she's still sick and has been vomiting all over the place!
Will she eat pouches at all? Or maybe you could give her a popsicle??
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
@Adira: Yes, I am going to offer a pouch and toast at breakfast. I forgot...is the BRAT diet for runs or stomach issues?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@autumnlove: Yes! Stick to the BRAT diet! You only want to avoid BRAT foods if you're dealing with constipation. Whenever Xander has stomach issues, he gets lots of applesauce and toast. Hope she feels better soon!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Smurfette: I'm glad she figured out her sleep!
@autumnlove: I hope she is starting to feel better. I always feel so helpless when they are sick like that.
DH and I celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary today. He cooked a nice dinner and then we sat outside by the fire and enjoyed a drink.
Isaac is turning into a full blown toddler. Doesn't get his way and freak out/cry. And he is starting to be a picky eater. Tonight he had about 2 bites of dinner and then said he was all done, passed me his plate and wanted up. I think he was just in a hurry to get outside to play.

@autumnlove: glad she's feeling better!
@Smurfette: glad R had a good night's sleep. hope you guys enjoyed your date night!
@ALV91711: happy 3 year anniversary! same here about the tantrums. J has been in full blown toddler mode for the last 6 months.... le sigh. we've got a long road ahead of us.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
@Smurfette: Hooray! Go R, go!
Man, just when I thought the 18 month sleep regression was over, E woke up at 11:30 crying. But she wanted some milk, then went right back to sleep without a fuss, so maybe it was just thirst.
@autumnlove: Gahhhhhh gross. i hope she's better soon. I believe BRAT is for both upset stomachs and diarrhea. What about just some slices of white bread? Goes down and comes up easy (not acidic)
@ALV91711: Happy Anniversary!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@ALV91711: Happy Anniversary to you and your husband!! How exciting! And fun with tantrums... totally normal toddler behavior, apparently!
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
@ALV91711: Happy Anniversary! My almost 17 month old is communicating a lot by crying/screeching/screaming and fussing these days!
@blackbird: @Mrs. High Heels: @Smurfette: @Adira: Thanks, I think she is better now! She ate a very bland diet yesterday!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@autumnlove: Fingers crossed she's on the mend and there won't be more vomit in you immediate future!

Ugh, it's been a long week. Pete has been such a grouch. I guess this is the life of a toddler. He's super clingy and teary from the moment he wakes up in the morning. Yesterday, he had his first meltdown at daycare dropoff. He's also moody when I pick him up in the afternoons and any little thing might set him off into epic tantrum mode. His naps are getting shorter and shorter at the new daycare. I've been putting him to bed by 6:30pm because he is just exhausted and cranky. I hope this phase doesn't last for years.
Oh, and diaper and outfit changes are back to being disastrous despite my best efforts to talk him through them. This morning, he was flailing so much that I ended up with an enormous glob of diaper cream on my new black pants. I had to change into different pants for work and I just really hope the cream doesn't stain them!
@autumnlove: Glad she is feeling better!!
@Smurfette: Awesome, update! So happy she's settling in!
@ALV91711: Happy (belated) Anniversary! Sounds like a lovely night! And yes, I hear you on the tantrums. A rollercoaster of emotions!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@QueensBee: Awww, sorry to hear about Pete! I wonder if he's been so cranky because he's not getting enough sleep? And we're OFTEN putting Xander to bed by 6:30. It's like his new bedtime (I thought bedtimes were supposed to get later as they get older, not earlier????). Sometimes he's in bed by 6:00 if his naps were crap!
And I don't think diaper cream stains. I feel like I've gotten it all over myself multiple times and not noticed any staining yet!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@QueensBee: Sorry to hear that it has been so rough. Hopefully this will be a short lived phase. 6:30 is bedtime here. It seems so early, but he is an early riser.
The last couple days when I've picked Isaac up from daycare he hasn't wanted to come to me and just runs away. I think he is having too much fun. He has been spending more time in the toddler room and loves it. Today as we were leaving I saw the director and she said that this morning when Isaac went to the baby room he was upset so she sent him to the toddler room instead and he was so happy. I can't wait for him to switch, it is a pain going to one room to get his stuff and another to get him.
We are teething and sick again. Just when sleep had gotten really good. But these are the last two teeth until the 2 year molars. The last couple days he has pooped so much and his poor butt is so red, he won't even sit in the bath, poor thing.
Wednesday he was up for a good chunk of the night. He mostly just laid quietly in our bed. I was so exhausted that I took him to daycare and called in sick so I could get some sleep.
Hope that everyone has a good weekend!

Holy crap girls, I just have to share this...
My friend, who was my maid of honor and I was hers, but we've basically had a fallen out since I got pregnant with Xander... she just posted a picture on Facebook (in the MIDDLE of an album) where she wrote in the sand "Last Summer as 2... 3/4/15" That's a "I'm pregnant!" post, right??? I'm so excited for her (she has ALWAYS wanted kids)!!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@ALV91711: Xander was like that with daycare pickups for FOREVER! Only recently has he actually been excited to see me. Before that, he'd just smile at me and then go back to playing and throw a fit when I tried to make him leave!
And being able to bring Xander to daycare and then come home and call in sick is one of my favorite perks of him being in daycare full time!!!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Adira: That is totally an I'm pregnant post! How exciting for your friend!
That is the second time that I've called in in 6 months just so I can stay home and sleep. And Isaac has a fun day with all his friends, win win.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@ALV91711: That definitely sounds like a win win to me!!! And I'm impressed this is only the second time in six months you've called in sick!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Adira: Oh, I've called in more than that, but only twice just so I could sleep. It seems like pretty much once a month I have to stay home with Isaac.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: @ALV91711: I have never called in to just go home and sleep. I should!!
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@QueensBee: this sounds just like us right now except l won't go to sleep early.
sorry it's been rough.
L projectile vomited at dinner at a restaurant tonight. I was hoping we avoided this plague that's going around daycare but I guess not. He has a fever of 100.8.
@ALV91711: good for you. But I'm sorry everything has been difficult.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@ALV91711: Ohhh, haha, okay! I was like "WTF - I've been out sick or for Xander a million times!"
@Smurfette: You totally should!!! If you have the time, use it! It's so worth it!!
@travellingbee: Oh no!! Sorry to hear he's sick!
Hope it's just a short stomach bug or something and he feels better tomorrow.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Forgot to mention this, but Xander has finally stopped his Mama strike!!!! This morning, Hubs got up with him, and then I hear at the bedroom door "Mama!! Mama!!" And when I came out, he just kept shouting "Mama!" at me and getting excited. It was so adorable!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: I have three days left till Dec so I have to save some incase R gets sick. I don't want to have to work between Christmas and New Years!
So glad he is over his strike.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Yeah, I hear you. I've been trying to save as much of my sick and vacation time as possible to cover my maternity leave, so I haven't used any more than necessary this year!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@travellingbee: Is L feeling better today?
@Adira: Glad he's stopped the mama strike!
@Smurfette: Definitely need to use your days wisely then. If you don't use all your sick time do you get to carry it to next year?
Isaac turned 18 months today and we took him for his first haircut. I can't believe what a big boy he looks like now. He did really good. Cried for a minute and then just had a look of concern on his face and held our hands tightly.
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@ALV91711: yes! He's 100%! Thankfully it was short. Aww first haircut!!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@ALV91711: Oh my gosh, a haircut??? That's crazy!!! Xander still has baby hair and is no where near needing a haircut!

Hi again!
Pete's mood is back on the up and up this week so I'm feeling a lot more positive! He's just such a sweet little goober when he's feeling good and such a demon when he's not.
@travellingbee: Glad the illness was short lived! How is daycare going for you guys? Has he adjusted at all?
@ALV91711: Awe, first haircut is a fun milestone. I bet he looks very handsome! Pete had his first haircut back in March and has had two more since then. I guess he must have a lot of hair!
Any progress with the teeth? I hope you get a good night of sleep soon.
@Adira: Good call, the diaper cream didn't stain! Yippee!
And so awesome that Xander is back saying Mama, sweetest word in the world!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
If you ask R what her name is, she says Reese(a girl in her class) Hahaha. Her teachers said they are working on it.
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@QueensBee: He's definitely doing better except during nap time. Miraculously, he went down to bed at 730 tonight. First time in probably a year that he's gone to sleep that early! Glad Pete's doing better!
@Smurfette: That made me LOL!

18 month check up and immunization today. He is 23lbs 1.5oz and just over 31 inches tall. His doctor only wanted about 20 words, and said he is healthy. Well, besides the cold he has. I'm just happy that besides the flu shots he is done immunizations until kindergarten.
@travellingbee: Glad he is feeling better. I hope he has a good nights sleep.
@Adira: Isaac has really fine hair, but it was starting to get into is eyes. I can't get over how much he looks like a little boy now.
@Smurfette: That's cute, hopefully she will figure out how to say her name soon.
@QueensBee: The teeth have not broke through yet, but sleep is a little better. Glad to hear Pete is himself this week. Sounds like Pete has lots of hair! How is he when he gets his haircut?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@QueensBee: Yes! And now that he's back to saying Mama, he says it all the time! Love it!!
@Smurfette: hahaha, that's funny! At least it starts with an R! I think we gave Xander a name that's too hard to pronounce. Ooops.
@ALV91711: Glad the 18 month visit went well!! I can't wait to find out how much Xander weighs and how tall he is. I feel like he eats soooooooooo much during the weekends that he MUST weigh a bunch now, but he probably doesn't. And that's crazy that Isaac's hair is getting into his eyes! Xander's is still so short!!!
Here's a picture of Xander from just a couple weeks ago. Notice his hair! We've only ever trimmed around his ears (three times now) and the back at his neck (once). It's not even close to getting into his eyes!

He did pretty good last night. Asleep at 730 with only 1 wake up. So I'm finally rested. But frustrated with my body because we are TTC and it's not happening. I'm feeling defeated.
I forgot to say that we went to L's 18 mo appt too last week and he's 25 lbs and 15 oz. (gained a lb) and 34.5 in tall. He grew 2 inches.
