@travellingbee: Wow!! Tall baby!! I'm sorry about TTC. It's such a frustrating time. The first month is always fun and then it gets old quickly!

@Adira: yeah. We got pregnant with L on the first shot so I never went through this.

@travellingbee: Sorry to hear that you are feeling defeated with TTC. I hope get your BFP very very soon.

@Smurfette: Reese! At least she is pretty close!

@Adira: Here is a photo from daycare today of Pete's head. He's almost ready for his 4th haircut! It's a little expensive having it cut every month (but he is way to squirmy for me to do it myself), I wish it didn't grow in so quickly!

@QueensBee: her teachets said she said her name today. But for us we got Reese and something that might have been her name. She is talking more but we don't know what she is saying half the time

@Adira: It looks like Xander has gotten so big! That is what Isaac's hair looks like now that it is cut. We have that same shirt!

@travellingbee: L is tall. Good luck with TTC, I hope that it doesn't take too long this time.

@QueensBee: Look at all that hair! We need to get some of those types of puzzles for home.

@Smurfette: That is awesome that she is trying to say her name. Talking is good, even if it isn't all real words. Daycare tells me Isaac says his name, but when we try it is kind of a garble.

@QueensBee: Look at that hair!!!! Crazy!! Xander's still got that baby hair, haha. Why did I have so much heartburn with him if this is all the hair he has??

@ALV91711: I know!! He's no longer my little baby!! Though his hair kind of makes him look like one at times. And I love this shirt - so fun! Too bad it's too cold to wear it now.

@Smurfette: I asked Xander to say "Xander" and got "zeh-zeh" which is also what he calls the Zayden in his class. I think it's going to be a while before he can really say his name!

  10. ALV91711

    pomelo / 5621 posts

@Adira: zeh-zeh, that is so cute. He'll eventually get there with saying his name.

@Smurfette: Names are hard. My LO introduced herself at gym class as "mommy." I was impressed that she said anything.

@travellingbee: I share your TTC feelings. I hope you get your BFP soon!

  12. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@ALV91711: I don't even know what "zeh-zeh" means because he'll call another kid that, but he'll also point and go "zeh-zeh?" like he's asking me a question, but I have no idea what he's asking!

So I just dropped L off at school and ask them how he is doing playing with the others. She said sometimes he plays with the others and sometimes he pushes them. He pushes them?! Oh no! Our kid is being mean? That just breaks my heart. I feel like the teachers must have a hard time liking him. He is cute and all, but he is the kid who cried nonstop for the first week and a half, and now he's the kid that pushes others? Not sure what to do...

  14. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

    @travellingbee: Aww!
I thought that R's teachers hated her at first too, since she was the new one and the biter. But now they have warmed up and I don't think that. I am sure they don't hate him!!! What are they doing to correct the pushing?

Quick update on Xander from his 18 month visit today (he's 19 months today though).

    Height: 32.3 inches
    Weight: 24 lbs 13 oz (50th percentile!!!)

I had to fill out a form that I think gives warning signs for autism. It had things like walking, climbing stairs, making eye contact, pointing, copying facial expressions, etc. Xander passed!

She also asked about how many words (I said 20 consistent words plus 10 more that I've heard once or twice). She also asked if he could help take off his clothes (I said he could take off his socks and help step out of his pants and pulls his arms out of his shirt). And she asked what he was drinking for his alternative milk and how he's eating. She seemed happy with everything!

Xander's got a bad cold though, so we skipped the vaccines, including the flu shot. We go back in two weeks for both.

@travellingbee: In the mornings, Xander is dropped off in the infant room until his toddler teacher shows up. He's VERY possessive of this one teacher and if other kids are sitting in her lap, he'll push them off so he can sit there!!! I've also been told a few times that Xander is learning "gentle touching" because apparently he's been rough AND that him and some other boy tend to push around this one girl! So I think it's probably normal, but definitely not something you want to hear as a parent!

  17. Smurfette

@Adira: Sounds like he is doing great!

@Smurfette: Now I wonder if I'm feeding him too much! He's gone from the 13th percentile to the 50th!!

  19. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: R almost gained 4lbs in a 3 months, so I think we had the bigger jump!! At least yours was in 4 months!

Once every month or so I drop in here - I'll try to be better! Our house sold, I'm solo parenting while DH starts his new job out of state, J had a stomach flu last week and a fever the past few days that thankfully seems to be gone this morning, but he is a fussy grump lately!

18 month appt last week - he's 29 lbs and 34.5 inches. We still call him Hoss (Bonanza, anyone?) He's a tank, which is wreaking havoc with my 24 weeks pregnant back pain! He probably has 40 words now, but he's never tried his own name. He's dropped to one nap, which is usually just an hour, which makes the day a challenge sometimes. But he's down for the night by 7 and usually sleeps until 7 or even 8 the next morning, so that's a blessing! He definitely has a sense of humor, which I love seeing develop, and he's getting really social with other LOs, which is so cute. But yeah, the tantrums are a little scary, and the pickiness and smaller appetite are here to stay I guess. He lost half a lb from his last sick visit a month ago, probably from two stomach flus, and the pedi wasn't concerned because he has some "wiggle room" (ha).

Ugh, ended up going to the ER because of Xander's breathing and they are saying he is going to be admitted and we're definitely spending the night.

@Smurfette: Same with Pete, I have no idea what he's saying most of the time! Just tonight he was going crazy for "wawa." I tried offering him water, and he was furious. I tried talking him for "a walk." More furious. Finally, an hour later, I happened to open the fridge and he started yelling, "Wawa! wawa!" ...Watermelon! He was craving some juicy watermelon. Now I know!

@Corduroy: Awwe she introduced herself as mommy! Adorable! And yes, I'm just impressed that she "introduced herself" at all!

@travellingbee: Oh no, that would be hard to hear! However, both the crying at drop-off and pushing are all such common behaviors at this age, I'm sure they understand. Did they mention how they handle the pushing?

@Adira: Sounds like it was a great appointment (yay for weight gain!) except for the bad cold. I hope the little guy feels better soon.

@keepcalmcarrie: Wow, you have a lot going on! Congrats on selling the house! What state are you moving to? And happy to hear that you are getting some solid sleep before LO 2 arrives!

Today when I picked Isaac up he was just being brought back to the baby room. I was putting his coat on him and told him to say bye to his friends (only 2 boys there about 13 or so months). The one boy is standing and he leans in and hugs him. They hugged back and forth and gave each other kisses, it was so cute. Myself and the teacher were cracking up.

@Adira: Hugs mama. I hope everything is ok. What do they say is wrong that they are keeping him there? I hope that he will get to be home soon. Sounds like he had a good 18 month appointment, that is so awesome that he has moved up to the 50th percentile!

@Corduroy: That is so awesome that she was able to introduce herself, even if it was as mommy.

@travellingbee: I'm sure his teachers like him. Isaac cried the first few days and then every day when I dropped him off for over a month he would cry. I think they are used to crying babies. Did they say how they handle pushing?

@keepcalmcarrie: What a big guy! You sound like you are so busy. Yay for your house selling! When will you be moving?

@QueensBee: Figuring out what they are saying is so hard sometimes. Here wawa means his stuffed penguin that he keeps in his crib. The doll came with the name waddles and this is what he calls him.

  32. travellingbee

    hostess / papaya / 10219 posts

@ALV91711: @QueensBee: They redirect. They don't do timeouts there. He certainly isn't the only one, and I'd venture to say he picked it up there but for whatever reason he's doing it. And he's pretty big so he probably looks like a bully baby!

  33. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: They don't know, but it might just be asthma.

  34. Smurfette

@Adira: poor guy!! Are you staying overnight?

  35. keepcalmcarrie

    persimmon / 1096 posts

@Adira: Oh no, poor little guy! I hope things take a turn for the better quickly. Do they know what's going on?

@QueensBee: We're moving to Ohio - just 2.5 hours away from our current home, and I've lived there before, but it's still tough to leave "home." It's a great opportunity for DH though, so we'll make it work for a few years.

@Smurfette: Yay for buddha bellies! Was R a big newborn? J wasn't that big - long and skinny, 7 lbs 4 oz - but I think my LO#2 might be a 9+ pounder, just based on family history

@ALV91711: We'll be moving sometime in late October or early November. Hoping to be nicely settled by Thanksgiving!

  36. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@keepcalmcarrie: She was 8.4 at birth and was lower on the weight scale till around 9 months. She loves carbs and milk now. So she is moving up!!

@Adira: Just saw your update - poor buddy Both my brothers had asthma as toddlers, and ever since J had croup in May, I've been worried about it. So scary when they have difficulty breathing. Have the doctors given him any meds or any other relief? Hope he gets some sleep tonight - and you too, mama!

  38. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: Yes, there is a pullout couch in his room, so I'll be staying with him.

@keepcalmcarrie: He's finally asleep!! Not sure how long it will last though. He's gotten a bunch of med already and is on a breathing treatment. I guess it could also be that bad virus that has been going around. They mentioned that it has made it to our state and hospitalized a bunch of kids.

  39. Adira

Ugh, they woke him up at midnight to get a nose swab and he's still awake (it's 1:00).

@Adira: I'm so sorry to hear he's so sick! Is he wheezing? Poor buddy!
I'm up with a coughing little guy for the third night in a row. Hoping L starts getting better rather than worse. He seems fine during the day, just a horrible cough at night.
