we had our 16 week anatomy scan today, and everything is looking great!!! baby weighs 6 ounces, and heartrate was 151. and, in the biggest update of all, we found out that our doctor's guess last week was right--we're having a GIRL!!!!!!!!!!

@LovelyPlum: It's nice to see the boys and girls are even! I participate in the WB boards, and most April mamas are Team Pink. I don't think these appts need to be added, but set up our birthing and child preparation classes for December 13 and 14. I'm nervous as everything I learn there will need to be taken seriously and help me for what's to come. Crazy!

So I had my u/s this morning. Went really well and everything looks great. We made it through without finding out if it is a boy or girl, so staying strong with TG! Honestly I don't know if they would have been able to see much anyway, Baby's little legs were crossed, but s/he waved at us
We didn't get great photos this time, Baby was not being super cooperative with that, but at least the rest of the measurements looked good--to the tech, anyway, who knows what they're measuring in there--and a HR of 146.Next up: glucose test

@megz06: @LovelyPlum: We scheduled our classes for February, but couldnt do the breastfeeding class until the first two weeks in March--I'm worried its cutting a little close in case things go super early, but then again hopefully not and it will help me remember everything (?) I was fine with it until today when I asked if it was too late to visit my parents in Florida for President's Day (late Feb) and she said, "umm, well, that's cutting it a little close. Unless you're ok with potentially having your baby in Florida" Late Feb? Eek!

Our appointment went super well yesterday!

My midwife already booked our anatomy scan for November 25th! I'm feeling pretty excited now. Two and a half weeks! What!?

@PEAPIE: I know! I am counting down the days until my AS on November 27. It is going so fast. Then to think: that, Thanksgiving, birthing classes, a few weeks later Christmas, then New Years, and then it is time for DH and I to start taking stuff seriously because it will go even faster!

@Dandelion: really, I am not having too hard of a time with it yet. I'm mostly just nervous that I will waver when I am in the u/s room. I think if I were to accidentally find out on Monday, I would be pretty bummed. I like the excitement of not knowing!

Had our anatomy scan yesterday! Baby was moving the whole time so it took an hour and a half! But I loved all that extra time watching my sweet little babe
they even surprised me wit a few 3-D images! It was soooo hard to stay team green. I *may* have tried to peek but I couldn't see anything. So maybe that means another girl?*realized pictures showed my name/bday...will update when I fix that

We just had our 18 week scan and found out we are having a GIRL!!! Baby is growing right on track and healthy. We're over the moon. For sure I thought it was a boy. I glanced at the screen during the earlier part of the scan and thought I saw boy parts, but it must have been something else. The technician scanned twice and confirmed it was a girl. Good to know I was completely off!

AFM, we had our anomaly scan today (same thing as a gender scan, I think...this is just what our office calls it). I got really anxious over the weekend, so I was trying not to think about it too much. I don't know what I was so worried about. I think I was worried that we would go in there and find there was no HB, and I would have to deliver a stillborn today. I just could not get this out of my head. I knew it was bad because my BP before the scan was 135/75, which is REALLY high for me.
BUT, we went in, and immediately the baby's little heart was beating, beating away. We were so, so relieved. Baby looks great. The perinatologist came and looked at the heart, and you could see all four chambers, and he said the brain looks great, which is such a relief. Baby wasn't very active, but it was so cool to see all the little organs. I was scared to look too hard, though, because I didn't want to ruin the TG surprise. But we made it-still TG!! It's actually a huge relief to be done with the scans, so there is no more temptation (does that sound crazy???).
Doctor's appt went well, too. I had some spotting over the weekend, and it turns out that my perineum is split. It hurts like HECK when I pee right now. The doctor gave me something to put on it, though, and otherwise everything looks great. I even got to have a lunch date with DH, who was off for Veterans' Day. All in all, a really great afternoon.
I am completely, utterly wiped out right now though, which just goes to show how wound up I really was. We came home and took a nap before I had to go to class, and I fell asleep again after I came home tonight. The real proof, though? I asked them to re-check my BP before I left the doctor's, and it was 97/64. That's way more normal, but holy crap. I need to work on some deep breathing, apparently!
