    @T.H.O.U.: I thought it a little odd, too, but I figure I'll revisit it as time goes on. I wonder, if anything, she's setting the expectation so I don't go crazy and start the "eating for two" mega diet! I'm fine with eating good foods and not going overboard, but I understand the generalization.

    I feel like there's going to be a point where at least from fluid alone, I'm gaining a few pounds, you know?

    @babybeemcd: Great news about your u/s! It is odd that you aren't supposed to gain any weight. At this point you shouldn't, but I would think in the next 2 trimesters you should gain a little? I guess they know what is best. I was on BP meds before I got pregnant, and they took me off. My BP, thank goodness, stabilized before then and hasn't risen (yet).

    Just scheduled the NT scan for 9/24, which is literally the very last day we can do it before I hit 13 weeks. We were really uncertain about doing it, but it turns out it's 100% covered by my insurance (which is amazing and I am so so grateful for. It's turning out that I have incredible insurance.), so I figured it would be nice to have the ultrasound. Although we saw the baby at 8 weeks, it was just a blob and I feel like seeing it look a little more baby like might help me deal with the nausea and discomfort a little better. I've also got a 12-week appointment on 9/19, so lots coming up!

    Good luck to the rest of you with appointments this week!

    @babybeemcd: yay for a good ultrasound and healthy baby

    @gilmoregirl: we are doing the NT scan too. Our insurance covers it and ill take any opportunity to see our baby again!

    @gilmoregirl: Sorry for such a dumb question, but why would you need another scan for the NT? Couldn't they find that out at the 12 week? Just curious as my Dr hasn't mentioned it, and I assumed that was what the 12 week scan was.

    @megz06: Sorry to jump in, but I thought I would offer my experience. For us, our OB does not typically offer a 12 week ultrasound. They do an earlier first trimester dating scan and then a second trimester anatomy scan. If you want to do the early testing, you have to schedule the NT scan for between 11-13 weeks. For me, it done actually by a different office.

    @T.H.O.U.: Is it bad that I'm kinda preparing for the worst? I'm still at a place where I can't believe it until I see it, and until then I'm so doubtful. Even THOUGH I can feel my belly getting bigger, my mouth getting thirsty, and all the symptoms that go along with pregnancy.

    I just want to SEE it!

    @Dandelion: That is exactly how I was last weekend in the 3-4 days leading up to my appointment. Even though my boobs were killing me and I could feel the bloat, I totally would not let myself really think of them as pregnancy symptoms.

    @T.H.O.U.: I'm glad you understand!

    I think even after the us, DH is going to be skeptical until I birth a baby...which I really don't blame him for, really.

    Hi ladies! I've been quiet on the HB boards because I'm traveling overseas for work at the moment. My trip has been extended so I'll miss my appointment this week. It's been rescheduled to 9/19!
    Hope everyone is well!!

    So, even though I know my appointment is on Friday, I sort of forget. Like, I need the brakes done on my car and I said to myself this morning, "Oh, I'll get it done Friday, since that's my no class day!"

    And, yesterday I was so tired, I was thinking to myself, "I can't wait to have a relaxing day on Friday!"

    But then I go, "Oh yeah! My appointment is on Friday!"

    @T.H.O.U.: 8:30 am! I was smart and got an early appointment so that I wouldn't be waiting all day long, lol

    @Dandelion: Haha I have really bad pregnancy brain, so I am forgetting stuff all the time. I usually have really good attention to details, but lately I have been forgetful.

    Appointment went really well and it was so amazing to see our little nugget on the big screen! Heartbeat was 175 and I'm measuring 9w0d instead of 8w2d (based on LMP). Will find out later if doctor wants to change due date. I had the ultrasound after I saw her. I have a large cyst on my left ovary so I have to have another ultrasound in 4 weeks. I'm trying not to stress about the cyst & just think about the fact that it means we get to see our baby again soon!

    @T.H.O.U.: Did it cause you any trouble? The ultrasound tech asked if I have had pain on left side but I said no. Honestly I feel so yucky right now it's hard to distinguish between all the symptoms! Lol

    @Mae: I don't know if anyone answered your question before about UTIs but my doc told me today that they will check for one every time I go in. She said since pregnancy causes frequent urination women don't always know if they have one & that while you are pregnant a UTI could cause kidney problems more quickly. Not trying to worry you, just thought I'd share in case you were still wondering!!

    @jhd: hooray for a healthy babe my OB said I had a cyst on my left ovary but that it was because that was the side I ovulated on?

    I have 2 appointments to add. Sept 16 for bloodwork and ultrasound (eeeek!) on the 25.

    @Kate6214: thanks

    @luckypenny they said that was probably the cause for mine as well but I guess the size was the concern.

    First ultrasound today and it went really well! I've had this irrational fear of an ectopic and a bunch of weird cramps, so it was such a huge relief to see a baby in my uterus. My ovulation date was Aug 9, but my LMP was July 23, so I wasn't sure if I was 6 weeks 5 days today, or 7 weeks. Apparently, I'm 7 weeks, based on measurement! Huzzah! So fun to re-align all my apps (both phone and web) to the new measurement and see the farther along photos. Doc said everything looks great and even though I was a leetle freaked out that there is only one baby in there when I'm so bloated, it felt so great to look at our cute little Teeny! I'll post a pic after I get it scanned.

    This appt was a 'viability' appt with RE, now I have the tricksy task of deciding between a midwife or an OB. I have a lot of good recommendations on both counts - blergh, decisions decisions!

    So, tomorrow's appointment is going to be LONG. I knew it was an ultrasound, then a nurse, then an OB, but the confirmation call last night about it was crazy! The recording reminded me that I have "multiple appointments" at 8:30, 9:15 and 10:00. I think I'll have to bring a snack!

    I'm so excited, though! Nervous, too. I asked DH to come with me, but he can't get off work cause they've been too busy. From now on, I'll schedule ultrasounds in the afternoons, since he gets home at 2:30.
