Omg you guys! I grew a person!!!!
We had our NT scan today... and wow. There is a whole little person in there. It has all it's bits and everything seems to be in the right place. I feel I can finally get excited now, let go of the anxiety! Peanut was incredibly active and refused to get in position for the actual NT measurement. Any child of mine is bound to be stubborn. I had to get up and shake around. haha Hearing the heartbeat was surreal. Am over the moon right now

Okay - my second round up!
EDD: April 22nd
How far along?: 9 weeks + 4 days.
How long TTC: 20 months. IVF Round 2 did the trick.
First child?: Yes!!
Any feeling about boy/girl: I still feel boy, as does everyone else around us with an opinion!
Doctor's appointments: Saw our baby at 7+1 and had a great heartbeat. We will meet our OB next week at 10+1 and then have a NT scan booked for 12 weeks exactly. I can't wait to see Baby Jag again.
How do you feel?/Symptoms so far: Great! No morning sickness, touch wood, and I'm happy except for back aches and tiredness.
Who have you told? Our parents & siblings, my BFF, the interwebs (hehe) and my work colleagues who knew about our IVF struggles. The rest will find out at 12+ weeks.

EDD: April 20
How far along?: 9w 2d
How long TTC: First try!
First child?: Yes
Any feeling about boy/girl: No idea. I had a dream where I told my husband it was a boy, and a dream where I had the baby and it was a girl.
Doctor's appointments: We had our first prenatal at 8w 2d, where we saw the bean & heard a heartbeat (165). We have the NT scan scheduled for 12w1d (Oct. 11).
How do you feel?/Symptoms so far: Exhaustion. I have become the worst employee in the world. I am tired from the minute I get up in the morning until bed at night. I almost fall asleep in meetings. I am a therapist and I have started to take notes during session because its the only way I can stay awake and focused (and remember things for documentation later!). It seems to have gotten worse this week!
I'm also very bloated. I've been constipated this week, so it is particularly bad. I had to go to court yesterday and I could not get my dress pants buttoned all the way! To work I can usually wear leggings with a stretchy skirt over them, so that has been okay- but man, I was uncomfortable yesterday.
I was nauseous in the afternoons for several weeks, but that has subsided lately.
Who have you told? Parents, close friends, siblings, and a few co-workers. Planning to tell extended family & my supervisor at 12 weeks.

I snapped up some stretchy stuff online at the Old Navy/Gap sale. The international shipping was pricy, but I desperately need some summery clothes that will be comfortable.

@ jaguar oooooh sale! I hear you on the summer stuff. I have nothing to wear I was going to wait till I was there on holiday in November but there will be no summer stuff then. Hmmmm

EDD: April 6, but full term for twins is 34-36 weeks. My goal is to get to 38 weeks, which would be towards the end of March.
How far along?: 12 weeks today!
How long TTC: 2 cycles
Any feeling about boy/girl: Not really. I always say I want girls and DH says he wants boys, but mostly we just enjoy having a friendly disagreement. We just want them to stay safe and stay inside as long as possible!
Doctor's appointments: I had both a doctor's appointment and an ultrasound appointment this week. We heard te heartbeats for the first time at the doctor's appointments. We has our second ultrasound Friday-they are starting to look like little people! We could even see that one was rolling around in there! So cute!
How do you feel?/Symptoms so far: I am feeling souch better! Starting at 10 weeks, my nausea started to improve by leaps and bounds. I still throw up a couple times a week, but I've had some days I didn't take any meds and still had no episodes. Fan-freaking-tastic, y'all!! I still get tired easily (I might have slept from 7 last night to 7:30 this morning), but I think that is getting better too.
Who have you told? Pretty much the whole world at this point.

EDD: April 1
How far along?: 13 wks! (tomorrow)
How long TTC: 2nd cycle
Any feeling about boy/girl: Mama's intuition says girl. Not that I have a preference. I would be overjoyed boy or girl but *really* feel it is a girl.
Doctor's appointments: NT scan on Friday which was amazing. I was shocked by how active the little bean was... flipping around, refusing to sit still to be measured. I was just in awe. I can't wait for the anatomy scan now. We have our first appt at the hospital Oct 2nd.
How do you feel? Exhausted! So tired all the time. People are commenting on my dark circles Only feel nauseous when I'm hungry. Morning sickness really seemed to ease off around week 10, luckily, as I was feeling pretty sorry for myself.
Who have you told? Almost everyone haha. Immediate family, close friends and I confessed to work after the scan on Friday. Today we tell hubby's extended family and I will let mine know and we are done. No FB announcement for us.

Hey all! I've been MIA so I thought I'd check in. Glad to see everyone doing well and love all the ultrasound pics!
EDD: April 13
How far along?: 11 weeks
How long TTC: Beginners luck
Any feeling about boy/girl: initially thought boy, now thinking girl... who knows!
Doctor's appointments: NT scan this week.
How do you feel? FINALLY feeling better! I was sick as anything from week 5-10 but I'm finally getting some relief. I was able to go on a run this morning for the first time since 5 weeks and it felt wonderful! Mentally I'm starting to stress. Anyone else? I feel like I should be reading, preparing, buying things but haven't started yet. I guess just thinking about the amount of stuff to do and purchase before April is kind of overwhelming.
Who have you told? Immediate family. Plan to call close friends next week.

Bah. My doctor called me back today. Between a slightly thick nuchal fold and high blood tests, I get to have a level 2 ultrasound and a meeting with a genetic counselor. We have the worst luck!

Well, we had our first OB and he's lovely. He just has a new midwife starting too, and she seems really nice. The parking at the hospital is a bit crazy, but that's ok.. we still love it there, and are going to fill out all the paperwork soon.
Everything looks good. They're going to check me for gestational diabetes earlier than most, and again at the 'normal' time, since I have PCOS and some insulin issues - but otherwise, I'm just told to gain as little weight as possible (since I'm overweight) and look after myself.
Baby measured a few days behind, but Dr. P wasn't worried - he did a really hasty ultrasound for us, and blamed his rushing skills as to the full measurements. We'll get a better idea for sure in a few weeks for the 12 week NT scan. He's happy for us to keep using our IVF dates, since they were so exact - meaning I'm 10+1.
But.. he's got a heartbeat and was waving arms and legs around! It's hard to see, but the picture shows that his head is low and to the right, and his legs are up high to the left. Can you see the arm? I love this blob so much already.

I received my NT scan/1st trimester trisomy 21/18 results and everything looks pretty good!
I added the 7 week/11 week scans. I love how the tech took a photo of her foot! Per the ultrasound tech, 85% our baby is a girl! I'm so excited.
cherry / 147 posts
@blackbird: I hope the probability goes down on your level 2 ultrasound. The 18 week ultrasound is what really matters, and they do further testing for any genetic issues throughout your pregnancy. I'll be thinking about you... hoping for the best!

@serendipity: Awww, look at that sweet profile! I love seeing everyone's US pics!

@blackbird: I'll be sending thoughts and prayers your way! I know exactly how scary it is to have a potential, but still hypothetical, issue with your baby, so I know it's hard not to let your mind run away with worries. As much as you can just take it one day at a time and message me I you need to vent some worries or get a pep talk!
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@jaguar: Both pics are adorable!
@serendipity: Love the foot photo! I'm so jealous that your u/s tech made a guess about gender!
Also here is one of our recent u\s photos. It's kind of fuzzy, but it shows both babies. One is more on top and the lower one blends into the fuzziness a little more, but hopefully your expert eyes can locate them both!

@Mrs. Blue: Oh my! This is sooo sweet! I can see them! I'm so happy for you!

@serendipity another one who is jealous of the gender guess. I am dying to know!

Had a meeting with a genetic counselor, a CVS, and another ultrasound Wednesday! I hope nobody has to get that awful call from their doctor that something doesn't look right. i've had the most stressful week EVER! But the fetus looks good. It's doing somersaults and having a grand ole time. Nothing suspicious appeared over the past week, so yay for that!
CVS went fine. Took almost an hour because they had to do it TWICE. Apparently my cervix has a very sharp L-shape, so the perinatologist struggled with that. The head of the department was doing it, though, so I felt confident that if it could be done, he was the man for the job. I'll be seeing him again in 6 weeks for a thorough detailed ultrasound--if the chromosomes all come back normal, they'll be looking for heart defects, which are often associated with this low protein thing I have. They assured me that nowadays, nearly everything is fixable with surgery.
So I should get prelim results on Friday. So nervous/anxious! But if all is well (and 95% chance or so it is), I'll know the baby is healthy and it'll have a gender, too! So i can stop calling it "it".
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@blackbird: I'm glad things are moving along without any bad news! Hoping the results come back great tomorrow--and so jealous about gender discovery! Are you hoping for one or the other?
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
Thanks! Honestly, I can't really bring myself to care too much about what I have, so long as I a) have it b) it's healthy! I know everybody says that, but considering how difficult it's been the past year, I do mean it DH wants a boy, but is also like, "eh, i don't care that much". A boy would certainly negate the possibility of Turners, though...

@blackbird: This is great news - I'm glad you've got it over with. Let us know how you get on ... and you'll be the first of us to know if you're having a boy or girl. Yay!

@blackbird: Hoping the prelim results come back with wonderful news tomorrow! I'm also excited to hear whether you'll have a girl or a boy!
